I wanted to post this in the official ZetaCoin (ZTC) thread but I guess since I'm noob status on this board this is where such conversation must take place for now. I definitely agree the alt-coin surge has been powered by that WSJ article... but BBQCoin? Lol it could have at least used a better name. I see it have very niche applications! I have seen that Bill Still guy shillin for Quarkcoin too but I don't understand it... its just more secure? He is somehow linked with Max Keiser who called the Litecoin jump well ahead of the jump and apparently is known in "financial circles".
I like the growth that Zetacoin has seen, it has been growing 100%+ for several days now and has a finite coin production (which ends after a year), no pre-mining, and a number of other benefits. I think its a challenger for Megacoin. The one thing I don't understand is how a coin with so much market momentum and potential doesn't even have a real website! There is a block explorer and people are mining it but the link on http://coinmarketcap.com/ just points to its github page, the "official" page right now as far as I know is just a forum posting here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=267545.0. I might throw a few BTC at it . I'd like to help build the community around ZTC but can't participate in the main thread
