And yes this will be open source and no doubt people will try to clone it just to rip people off but they will have no idea how to maintain or build on it (unless they spend months getting intimate with the code, at which point we'll be releasing new features). I would beware of the clones; my guess is first thing they do is try to release a Syscoin clone using a diff PoW/rewards but good luck with figuring out x11 (x13, SH3, etc.) merged mining.


Yep, was up way too late yesterday working on these numbers. Still not satisfied with them but we're getting close. We're still pursuing Moolah as an escrow provider in parallel with that work of course.


We've gotten a lot of that and I can understand- especially given whats been going on in altcoin land what with NJA's wearing VEILs cutting everybody's confidence in real developers. We have the product fully functioning right now with all 4 core features described in this preann are working and being tested heavily (been testing for months but it continues, 32+ new client commands). So development is about 98%.

You did not miss the whitepaper. I'm working on that with a teammate to get out as soon as possible. We have a lot of irons in the fire right now because we're planning the presale such that the launch follows quickly thereafter and it is a lot to coordinate. Also these features are not trivial. Testing them is very involved.

The whitepaper and the infographic are interrelated and we want to make sure everything is technically correct before we release them. We (the team) discussed the risk of copycats based on releasing the [information contained in] whitepaper and/or infographic but it would take many months for anyone to copy this based purely off that information.

I looked around and didn't see anything odd with the time blocks were being produced, i didn't see a 4day gap but I also didn't see the record of any 4k diff block (but saw it on the network) so odd not to see it on the blockchain. I noticed that shortly after the block you noted, starting at 296712 (http://kittehcoinblockexplorer.com/block/2686376d8909e66fe6e9c9524fa8a9572122db9659f9bb55f10a5120d7be557a) the coin days destroyed rocket from 83 to 5billion+, the subsequent blocks slowly bring this down by 276715.

Devs are working on a fix, the real fix is having consistent hashing power on the network. As long as its low it'll be raped by MPs even with KGW but after the devs fix the vars for quicker retargeting the problem will be remedied. Just gotta be patient I've been in communication with them and they are working hard on this stuff it isn't trivial; hard forking isn't trivial either.

Interesting. Low bounty IMO. Especially for the "Mass Rental Website" [stipulating the symphony2 framework be used, which I've worked with].

I'm on the Syscoin team lead and I can confirm this statement 100%. Scammers are out more than usual. We've had 4 different scammers try to fake the "Syscoin Presale Launch" which we had to report to mods and warn people about. Then they took it to the next level by copy and pasting our PREANN and calling it an ANN for "WallStreetCoin". No code to look at there of course since we haven't released our code yet! Reported + deleted (thanks mods!).

People need to watch out for scammers. Since these incidents I've added the team's BCT usernames to the website as well as a large warning for interested investors. It's painful having to waste time on these scammers when the time could be used on development.

Once I get out from under the Syscoin launch I would be happy to post a guide on what to look for; their are a few key areas in the code to look to uncover nefarious dev activity like instamines, premines, hidden blocks, etc. These can be found by lookin in a few key files and doing a quick find operation. I will try to help out as soon as I have this time, this is def a growing problem in the crypto community and I want to help 

I know its all speculation but I made this mistake with DRK and did just like the whales wanted after an initial rise and dump.... Then sideways action (where I dumped, as whales wanted me to). Now I definitely regret those sells. Same with BC.

I think many others are trying to copy this as fast as they can- but we already have this working. Of course others may try to do it differently. I took a quick look at #VOOT github and they don't have any readme docs or anything outlining new commands they have added to they client to support a marketplace feature (Syscoin has many new commands of course); Looks like a clone of a standard scrypt coin (directory structure and file wise)... I don't see a whole lot of documentation anywhere. The readme is... empty. Additionally its created by an upstream github account https://github.com/MitchellMintCoins. Seems like they're into the coin factory game and we are definitely NOT.

I'm not intending knocking VOOT or anything, maybe they're just workin on it still. I'm just saying we plan on rolling this out with full documentation, and actually have all of the commands fully documented in .MD files within our private github already done; 33 new commands documented.

Just wanted to pop in since I've been so slammed at work I've had to squeeze time here and there. Almost have this infographic done which will provide plenty of food for thought for people looking for more info on the inner workings of Syscoin and its features just in time for the weekend. Having the team and core developer review it now to ensure its technically correct and understandable.

As for news- Moolah has gotten back to us and we're working on scheduling a Skype call to workout details around what they can help us with in terms of a secure Escrow provider. Trying to schedule a call before the weekend which will hopefully lead to some more news!

Thanks for the info. I'm not going to derail the good work the team is doing in a (ultimately fruitless) tangential conversation. While I do appreciate the spirit of that ~$200 equivalent of MEOW (at the time) being put toward the initiative that's exactly what we did- reinvested it in rewards, games, bounties etc. That is what donations were intended for (and we expressed that).

The new team has my support and encouragement. If you are a "bagholder" then I'd think you'd show them similar encouragement towards increasing the value of your holdings, regardless of how you feel about Kittehcoin's history.

Agree. And I just replied to the team, I was the guy holding stuff up. They needed access to the server hosting the blockexplorer (and a few other sites we never released) but I have been slammed at work. Just got around to it and I'm also working on setting up more formal communication channels between myself and the new team so that we can get this stuff done more efficiently when people need assistance or insight from me. I'm still here helping, just don't always have the time to post on the forums saying as such!

There IS a team of people working hard behind the scenes here. Anyone who is naysaying is only doing so because:
a) they aren't helping these people, at all, so they don't even know. They are sitting with their bags of MEOW and whining.
b) the people working on Kittehcoin are prepping a large ANN. You don't make things public one by one prior to an ANN. You make them public IN the ANN, that's how it works. So you haven't seen any big news yet because its all coming in one big ANN.

I respect and appreciate those who have stepped up to help. Sorry I have been so busy lately. Wedding last weekend, funeral this weekend with a production release spinnup (software) during the week. Just too busy. Also Syscoin. I can back this up- I am working with Rodux and other contributors to do what I can to help get the next big announcement and release public. There will be more announcements to come. I am still "in the back seat" so to speak when it comes to Kittehcoin but I support the contributors 100% and I'm here to make sure this succeeds in the next phase of its evolution.
