OP UPDATED. WE ARE LIVE.

MAC WALLET IS HAVING ISSUES WORKING ON FIXING RIGHT NOW.

BLOCK EXPLORER IS BEING SETUP (we were using a 3rd party for utmost transparency while we complete our entirely new explorer but they are having issues, working to resolve or stand up our own)
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale SOLD OUT! Launch Aug16 on: August 17, 2014, 01:18:46 AM
So let me get his straight.  The wallet functionality is not there but you're rushing it out the door just so you don't loose your btc from people asking for a refund?

No- I said the QT wallet functionality. All services are functional in the wallet. People can start building on the services immediately.
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale SOLD OUT! Launch Aug16 on: August 17, 2014, 01:01:04 AM
So if im reading that screenshot properly the pools get the source a full 30 mins before the QT release?

The source will be released the same time pools get the wallet. Rewards don't kick on til block 240.
645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale SOLD OUT! Launch Aug16 on: August 17, 2014, 12:59:44 AM

people, chill, go to bed, put alarm next to ear and relax until launch... dont panic because of few hours... ipo crew is waiting since the start of ipo for weeks and now is problem to wait few hours... take rest

Thank you for this. I want to apologize for the delays. Everything is working and we are about to send the coins to Moolah for distribution now. Please not that while the QT wallet is functionally somewhat incomplete, we will be updating it rapidly throughout this week. All Syscoin services are accessible through console.

Here is the revised timeline:
1. Coin distribution completed by 7:30 pm PDT
2. Pools/Exchanges receive client by 8:00pm PDT - code becomes available on github
3. Wallets released to public @ 8:30pm PDT - no password due to delayed launch.

Rewards start @ block 240!

646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale SOLD OUT! Launch Aug16 on: August 16, 2014, 10:12:26 PM
There was a slight delay with distribution due to issues internal to the Syscoin team. We are packaging the final client now and distribution should start within and hour (via Moolah). We are proceeding with launch as planned. Thank you for your patience.

The QT wallet doesn't have everything we wanted but, will be updating it ASAP. Core network is what is most important here.
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale SOLD OUT! Launch Aug16 on: August 16, 2014, 08:44:08 PM
<ignoring any and all FUD because we are working hard here>

We have narrowed down the cause of the issue to a single source and are trying to fix right now. This would mean certificates will be live if we can fix this. Nothing has been sent out yet distribution-wise please be patient we want this to be right.

Thank you, sorry for the delay  Angry
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale SOLD OUT! Launch Aug16 on: August 16, 2014, 06:43:06 PM
so when exactly is the launch?

Right now we're still looking at 5pm PST today. If that changes we will post immediately as soon as we know, but so far the only thing that has slipped is the soft launch which is mostly internal.

Countdown timer pls? Its 7:30PM in the uk ATM

I think PST is 8 hours behind the UK.  So that is midnight UK time.

8pm PST (PDT right now...) is about 1a in UK, I'll try to get a countdown timer (I hate timezones!). Trying to tie off things with the wallet.

This should help in the interim:

Important Announcement:

After large-scale regression and load testing we have identified a small issue with the certificates service. Because we are intent on delivering the best product possible we will be keeping this service (certificates) on the testnet ONLY until the issue is resolved. We are working diligently on this issue now and have been up all night trying to resolve. We do not want this to impact the launch, all other services are working as expected.

We will be working throughout the day/week to address this issue and once it is verified on the testnet we will release it on the main network. We will still be launching with all 4 services, the only service that will be in "beta" mode is the certificates which will be testnet-only until its deemed suitable to move to the main network which will be as soon as possible.

As always we're looking out for the what's best for the coin, investors, and the long term stability of the network. By keeping certificate services on the testnet it will allow a larger group of people to use, test, and provide feedback which may provide us additional insight into the fix. In the meantime devs and users can start building markets, storing data, and reserving aliases while we address the issue with certificate services.

Still planning to soft launch as scheduled, apologies if I'm unreachable I'm working with the team on these issues.

and so it begins....

can we please please have a smooth launch.

#crypti

Keep calm, we're just keeping the community updated- as we always try our best to do. Just sit tight we (and Moolah) are all working very hard right now to get this baby out the door proper.

guys i dont want to alarm anyone but my friend from bahamas said he just had some fresh locals arrive..

Sure bro. But that pic is missing something. The pic of every syscoin investor in it! Wink

+1 Cheesy Like nxt investors become extremely rich

LMAO  Cheesy I needed that today. But hey... did my head have to be on the chick's body?  Embarrassed  Tongue And you forgot mike and coderboo lol. We'll prep the island for when the rest of the presale investors arrive  Cool

Just finished the service fee tiers doc:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1x8dv0pGyRCeT8aXIEQpgNiq0ENxJKwEO_PmZqnxJERk/edit?usp=sharing

The only thing I am not sure about is if offers aka marketplace will be priced per kb or per offer; the sheet has them priced per kb. Please take note of the scaling value of Syscoin from 1k - 1.5k satoshi and the decreasing cost in USD of the services relative to that increase in value. This shows 6months but as you can see in a few places and via the blockheights this is compressed to 90days. Open to feedback! Lmk if we got any numbers wrong but almost all formula driven (for sanity purposes, this doc alone represents many hours of work).
654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale Started! on: August 15, 2014, 04:09:22 AM
I really want to overly emphasize that if the price goes up causing service fees to be too high value-wise leading to people not use the features at all do not panic- we will react appropriately based on market activity within that 90day window, sooner if needed.
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale Started! on: August 15, 2014, 04:05:16 AM
Thank you everyone for the support!!! Helps to keep us going, burning that midnight oil  Smiley

Can you post the mining pools in the op first page please?

Yes, we will post them tomorrow and continue to add to them as more are verified. We encourage all miners to use the verified pools only as they will always be in tight coordination with any forking issues or otherwise that may need to happen in the future and that will definitely happen in 90days. Pools not listed are not directly communicating with us meaning that if they miss a fork, their miners will suffer. The affiliate system is in place to avoid this as much as possible, please encourage your pool ops to register. We verify all emails so use a legit email that you check regularly.

Also... rearranged the OP a bit to hopefully make it better. Still all the same info just more of a focus on the features, and the fair launch info.
656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / FAIR LAUNCH DETAILS on: August 15, 2014, 02:42:55 AM
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ ALL OF THIS, THAT IS WHY I TOOK THE TIME TO WRITE IT. Thank you.

OK things have reached fever pitch in the last 24hrs and so I wanted to answer the questions that are on everyone's mind. If you have a question I have not answered, please read the OP. For those who have not read the OP I will not repeat answering a question already answered in the OP.

Fair Launch Details:
  • When will the wallets/source be released? - We will "soft launch" the code August 16th @ 12pm USA/PST. At this time we will send the presale coins to Moolah for distribution and begin sending the source code to pools who have registered and been verified through our affiliate process. Other pools will have to wait til the full launch to get their source code. The FULL launch will happen at 5pm USA/PST. This is to allow Moolah time to distribute the wallets, presale buyers the chance to download their keypair/wallet.dat and be ready for when we actually release the wallets binaries @ 5pm PST to the public.

The QT-wallets will be in a password-protected zip file. The password will be released 30minutes after the launch at 5:30pm PST. The first 8 hours of blocks will return a reward of fees-only in order to prevent mining between the softlaunch and the full launch and also to allow for the network to stabilize before rewards start being generated (preventing insta-mining).

  • Receiving presale Syscoin - Moolah is entirely responsible for the presale coin distribution. You will receive an email to download your coins from a secure site, the coins will NOT be attached to the email. Please add "no-reply@moolah.io" to your email white-list so the email doesn't go to spam/trash accidentally.

  • Exchanges - We will be on MINTPAL AND Moolah's FIAT exchanges at launch. Other exchanges to follow soon thereafter.

  • Syscoin Service Fees - This is an incredibly hard issue. We had mapped out the fees but given the past 24hrs there is concern we've priced them too low- if the value of SYS goes parabolic the services will be far too expensive. For launch we are not changing this. Please remember the initial fee schedule is aimed at price discovery and there is a hard-fork in 90days at which point we will update the schedule. We are sticking with the current fee schedule because if the price does remain in the 500-1500satoshi range then we will be right where we want to be. If we try to plan on a higher price-per-sys and that is not realized it introduces a very large attack vector in that services will be too cheap. Because of this we have decided to air on the side of caution and stick with the conservative schedule. If/when the price stabilizes at some value higher than 1500 satoshi we will update the fee schedule sooner than 90days. As stated earlier this is a very hard thing to get right but we are doing everything we can to get it right. I'll post the 90day fee schedule tomorrow (need to code tonight).

  • Buy Support - The team has decided to add buy support using some of the presale funds. We'll support first the phase1 price, as that stabilizes we will move support up to the phase 2 price. We won't be bidding on anything, just support and buying it up if it there are dips below those prices.

  • QT Wallets - We have been working with additional devs to try and get more features into the QT wallet prior to launch rather than it all being in console. It really has been a push but they have made excellent progress and we are aiming ot have at least full interfaces in QT around offers and aliases, possibly more- we'll get in as much as we safely can. These devs may also join the full team in coming weeks after a few more deliveries.

  • Mining Pools - Several mining pools have registered with use through our affiliate page, we will list them shortly so you can begin registering. If you wish to have your pool listed please register at http://syscoin.org/affiliate - the email you use must be accurate, we verify before listing.

  • Block Explorer - We will use a simple ABE block explorer for launch, we don't have time to complete our new custom explorer. This [custom explorer] will roll out shortly after launch.

We are extremely busy right now and that is far and away an understatement, but things are looking pretty damn good from the code side, just trying to make more thing available in the QT interface at this point and double check everything. I have lapsed on PMs and will try to get to them later tonight. I MUST focus on code tonight.
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale Started! on: August 14, 2014, 10:38:18 PM
I'm new in this coin.
Tell me, what is so special in this coin?
What are the arguments, which should make me invest more BTC in it.

Thank's in advance!

READ. THE. ANN.

(that's what it's there for)

If you cannot be bothered to do that, then please do yourself a favour and quit crypto.

ANN is quite large though.
Could the Devs maybe delete the whole, unnecessary presale stuff?

+1

Uhhh...I think they need to leave the whole thing up. There are people who may need to refer to the pre-sale information for something.  It also states in that information about our refunds (should it be necessary) so I think it needs to stay.

I kinda don't understand the whole "I want to invest money in this project, but I don't want to read or learn about it at all" mentality.  I like to know about my investments before I throw money at them.  Call me crazy.

Is +10000000 a thing?  Roll Eyes

TO ALL THE RETARDS, EVERYTHING STARTS AT 16TH AUGUST

lmao I would never call presale investors retards, but given the morning I've had re:FUD this is the only legit large/red text reply that shouldn't be deleted  Wink
659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale Started! on: August 14, 2014, 06:00:08 PM
Okay I'm confirmed on public ledger but no email confirmation yet.

Anyone else having the same issue?

Shoot support@moolah.io an e-mail.

Not sure if it's due to the e-mail provider or if the e-mail address has something in it that their system doesn't like.

I got 2 e-mails right away. 1 telling me where to deposit the bitcoins and once I sent the bitcoins I got another one saying they received the bitcoins.

Also make sure to check your junk mail- have had reports of it going there.

And again just to reiterate I'll be posting a detailed ANN tonight (between 10 and 11pm US/EST).
660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Syscoin - Business on the Blockchain - Presale Started! on: August 14, 2014, 05:14:10 PM
Dan :

Do you or Will you have devs working full time on this project after the IPO ? I like the team and all but 4 dev working part time with families and what not barely equal a good dev working full time. An other coin I like a lot is XC and they have 3-4 people full time working on their platform. You guys have a different product that's why I invested in it. Concerned about this point.

Thanks

+1.
Great question.

I can't say "full time" right now but we will have development progressing around the clock and we'll scale up the team as needed. I don't know if I mentioned this but we are already working with 3 additional C/QT devs- most of which are interested in joining the core team long term (with good reason, they've seen the code and know this is real!). Just because we work dayjobs doesn't mean we can't make solid progress, we put in 4-8hrs a night on Syscoin which is analogous to F/T development. We will be adding capacity though as features require, but we won't just add devs for the sake of it.

@Stuhlman thanks haha  Grin it was empty because I was hiding in the bathroom answering BCT posts from my phone! Tongue

Dev, all goodies are already bought and ready to send? Smiley

Presale rewards? Yep yep, @mwheeleruk can give an exact update on the ship dates.

where the pools at??

Several have already signed up with us, we will list the ones that are open for registration later tonight. If you have a pool and want to be listed on the Syscoin.org website you must register here: http://syscoin.org/affiliate there will be an email verification by the team after which you'll be added to the homepage.

Even as I'm here at work, solid QT progress is being made  Wink
