1141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: June 09, 2023, 07:56:59 PM
I also dont like to watch women football, not because it is boring, but because it is like watching football in slow-mo, and two completely on different level teams meat often. Sorry to say, but women football isnt developed at all. I have never seen a kid wearing t-shirt with famous women football player. I think no one could even name top players, or who won previous cup without googling. Since Brazil is most football playing country, I believe they gonna win.
Well, I think that now top players is quite well known. I think many heard about Ballon D'or winner Alexia Putellas, one of best US player Alex Morgan or Allisha Lehmann (mainly because of her Instagram.
I followed Champions league a bit and teams were playing in full huge stadiums like Camp Nou, Emirates or Stamford Bridge, not some training grounds like in past. Women football done big steps forward in recent years. Last week Champions league final was played and Barcelona won it by making comeback from 0:2 to 3:2 against Wolfsburg. But still, there was some moments and goals that you can see only in women football.

BTW, FIFA hasn't increased the number of participants for the women's world cup. Even for the 2027 event, the number of participants stand at 32 (for the men's event it has been increased to 48).
In 2019 World Cup 24 teams played, now we have 32, what is too much IMO. So far it's way too early to talk about 48 teams, there isn't so many teams in world now who can play good level football. And I also don't like decision to increase number of teams in men World Cup.
1142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: June 08, 2023, 10:22:11 PM
I was looking for this thread Smiley After all, it's probably biggest football event this summer. Comparing with last championship, number of participants was increased from 24 to 32. I'm not sure that's good move because level of women football isn't such good everywhere around thw world. I'm afraid that it will some big results in group stage like 10:0
I hope that someone finally will end USA dominace - 3rd World Cup in a row would be too much.

I think it would be wonderful if the Argentinian team could bring another Cup this occasion and continue the good streak that country has managed to get since they got the World Cup.  Wink
It looks that you don't follow women football at all. Argentina isn't powerhouse here, their chances to win  is same like Zambia, Vietnam or Haiti, rated at odds @501. If Argentina will get out from group somehow, it would be almost like miracle.

I guess you were born in the late 80s, early 90s. Great times! I was born in the 80s myself and I remember the times times when we would get together with friends and have fun outside. We'd play ball, chase each other, race remote controlled cars, shoot water guns and then go back home to watch cartoons before going to bed. Best times of my life.

Nowadays kids don't even talk. They go outside, sit on benches and write each other messages on facebook or play games on their phones. They can't even talk like normal people just answer with gifs and memes.
Mid 90s. My gneration is probably last one who had real childhood. Only good memories from these times. I'm not against technologies and development, but you should use it in right way. Facebook or games on smartphone isn't worst thing. I think that Tik Tok with all stupid videos is worst thing and it makes real damage to brain.
1144  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Magazine Doesn't Limit to 1 Acct Per IP Address? on: June 08, 2023, 09:54:26 PM
I'm not familiar with Bitcoin Magazine giveaway, so I don't really know why they're doing it. I guess that such giveaway help them to get quite signficant traffic and level of abuse so far didn't reached such level thatthey can't afford to pay anymore. But usually such good things come to the end sooner or later, it can't last forever. So, you can milk cow as it still gives something.
1145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eredivisie 22/23 - discussion thread on: June 08, 2023, 08:00:00 PM
Sparta and Twente are playing play-off today, and currently Sparta is in the lead 1:0, somewhere unexpected for me, but they have two matches to play, and Twente chances are still better to win this play-off for European spot
nervous match, Twente controlled match till penalty for Sparta, and now is down, will be interesting to see if they can make something in last 30 minutes, if there is no second match, I would put something on them to win, but as there is re-match, maybe just play on more goals tonight
Game ended 1:1 and final minutes were really painful for Sparta. They were so close to go with minimal advantage to second leg, but Twente scored on 93rd minute. Sparta goalkeeper actions weren't confident in that moment - when you go out for such ball, you must take it.
Twente were favorites, but 1:1 isn't bad result for them too. They have great chances to solve everything at, home, while for Sparta it will be very difficult.
1146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eredivisie 22/23 - discussion thread on: June 08, 2023, 09:20:42 AM
Today Playoff final 1st leg for spot in Conference league between Sparta and Twente will be played. Twente didn't had any problems against Heerenveen and today they're significant favorites, even despite that they're playing away. I wouldn't understimate Sparta much and I doubt that Twente will manage to solve things in 1st leg already.
1147  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can the ban on smartphones curtail peer pressure? on: June 07, 2023, 10:28:31 PM
It's sad. Compared to the good old days where the best place to seek information is the library but technology has and is slowly making it obsolete. Now I'm not against advancement and all that but kids dependence on it is alarming. But still, placing a ban for me is not going to change anything.
Yeah, I remember my childhood when there was no smartphones and only beginning of mobile phones. It was such good times and current kids won't experience all things that we experienced. Now if you will tell kids to look for information in books, they will look into you - dude, why I should, Google will tell the answer.
1148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | SFs on: June 07, 2023, 10:18:57 PM
Not bad final with dramatic ending. In general, it wasn't most exciting and beautiful game to watch, but you can expect something similar from final. Fiorentina played better, made more moments, but I can't say that they had much more good chances to score. And in final minutes West Ham go their chance to score and didn't wasted it.
West Ham won trophy after God knows how many years. And in general, it's first serious trophy for David Moyes in his long manager career. Happy for him.
It's only sad that final got ruined a bit by some idiots West Ham fans throwing beer glasses to Fiorentina players and injured one of them.

And there we have it. Italians losing already in two finals, now all hope rests with Inter in the biggest one of them all.
And from all 3 teams, Inter is least likely to win trophy, with all respect. So, it's a bit sad that after reaching 3 European finals, Italy will end without trophies. But maybe I understimate Inter too much.
1149  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can the ban on smartphones curtail peer pressure? on: June 07, 2023, 10:08:42 AM
From what I understood that's even law imposed, but just voluntarily initiative in that tow. So, I think it's pointless thing.
C'mon, it's not even about children who are going to primary school, most of them start to use smartphones much earlier, maybe being 3-4 years old. And it's parents responsibility that they give smartphones to their children so early and completely don't control what they're doing with it.
Personally, I don't like that current generation often don't have their lifes outside their phones, but it's new reality. But very often their parents acting as bad example for their children. Like it or not, but many of us also don't release phones from our hands.
1150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Nations League final four ⚽ on: June 07, 2023, 09:29:16 AM
Thanks for making this topic, I forgot that we have Nations league final 4 soon. There is not much hype around this tournament and importance of this tournament is something similar like Confederations Cup was.
I think that Croatia have quite good chance to reach final, Netherlands can't be considered as heavy favorites.
Spain - Italy is difficult to predict, but I'm backing Spain here.
1151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | SFs on: June 06, 2023, 11:21:53 PM
Fiorentina have not lifted a trophy in a very long time, the same thing with Westhampton. Fiorentina just lost one opportunity to win a finals in the Coppa itallia to Inter Milan, this conference league is like a second chance for Fiorentina after disappointing their fans before, they will be trying to avoid doing it twice.

If Westhampton win this competition, it will be very celebrated too, they have been struggling to try to win something, this is a chance for them too since the last competition they won in 1980 which was an FA cup title, where they played against Arsenal and won by just one goal.

https://lastwonatrophy.co.uk/west-ham/
Westhampton? Is that mixture of West Ham and Wolverhampton? Cheesy. Seriously, both teams aren't usual title contenders in their leagues and cups, so, Conference league is very rare chance for trophy them. And for both teams it's final chance to get ticket to next season UEFA cups.
I think it's completely 50/50 game, odds also says it. Don't know how big factor it can be, but West Ham can be more fresh as they didn't had game last weekend.
1152  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: June 06, 2023, 10:52:20 PM
They did not cut the line to Crimea, that is on the east bank and can be supplied without the dam apparently, and they damaged the dam just enough to engulf and drown the islands but not flooding the RF controlled territory. If you ask me, the only thing that does not match is them not shelling the boats that were evacuating the Ukrainian soldiers.
I don't know what they planned, but seems that things didn't went as planned. Some of RF controlled cites and villages like Nova Kahovka or Oleshky become almost completely flooded. Also, floodfing broke first defense line of Russia. And this information was posted by Russian sources.
Also, Russians telling that dam was destroyed by Himars. But you must be really dumb to believe that's possible to destroy such dam and make so much damage with Himars. You only can do it from inside.
1153  Other / Meta / Re: Images from Imgur have been restored on: June 06, 2023, 10:02:13 AM
That's a piece of great news. I had almost 30+ charts and I used Imgur to post them on the forum. They weren't loading making the whole thread useless.
Glad they fixed it and decided to go with our community. Meanwhile talkimg was made and I think we should continue to use that, it's developed by our own forum member.
I think you're missing latest news - images from Imgur isn't shown again. Just look at topic that you made and you'll see Bitcointalk image proxy in place of your images again.
So, now it would best to reupload your images to TalkImg. Even if imgur issue will be solved, they're not reliable anymore.
1154  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: June 06, 2023, 09:23:43 AM
Tonight Russia huge terrorist attack - they blew up Kakhovka dam. But I guess they won't call it terrorist attack and they already blaming Ukraine for it, but it's not possible to it with artillery or Himars. Story with Antonov bridge is best proof it.
https://www.dw.com/en/ukraine-updates-kyiv-accuses-russia-of-blowing-up-kakhovka-dam-evacuations-in-flood-zones-ordered/a-65833125
https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ukraine-says-russia-blows-up-major-nova-kakhovka-dam-southern-ukraine-2023-06-06/
Consequences of might be terrible and lot of cities and villages in both sides of Dnipro river is under risk of flooding. In some places like Nova Kakhovka (currently occupied) streets is already turning into rivers.
This dam supplied water to Zaporizhia power plant. Also, it was main supplier of water to Crimea, so these idiots literally cut branch that they're sitting on.
1155  Economy / Reputation / Re: 12 Years on Bitcointalk Today! on: June 05, 2023, 11:03:44 PM
I'm a bit late to the party, but better later than never.
12 years on Bitcointalk - it was mazing ride. Now I'm trying to imagine how many people in whole world heard something about Bitcoin. Now you're one of few active memebers from these early days. And in these 12 years you contributed so much here that it's safe to call you one oh historic members of Bitcointalk.
Congratulations with your anniversary and I wish that next 12 years would be even better
1156  Economy / Services / Re: How do I find a Client that paid for A Job and Disappeared? on: June 05, 2023, 10:51:12 PM
As I understand they paid you in advance just part of money, not for whole job? That's not good sitaution. If they contacted you through Telegram and you don't have any other their contacts, I'm afraid that it will be almost impossible to find them. It's possible that something happened for them, but you can't know. No idea what to suggest for you.
1157  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: June 05, 2023, 09:20:46 AM
In general, Ukraine spent the end of spring very poorly. The loss of Bakhmut was not compensated by anything, the counteroffensive on the flanks bogged down and completely lost its meaning. Attempts by cavalry raids into the Belgorod region under a false flag also did not have much success. Daily arrivals in Kyiv show the weakness of Ukrainian air defense, which cannot reliably protect even the capital. I think Russia's actions near Kupyansk, Avdeevka and Marinka are more like an offensive than what Ukraine is doing now.
Raids into Belgorod region didn't had much success? I'm wondering what you would call success? Taking Belgorod in 3 days?
Daily arrivals to Kyiv, you're probably about Konashnenkov fairytales that all targets were reached. But in reality Kyiv air defense have high rate of hited missiles and drones. Not 100% what is almost impossible, but above 90% what is very solid.
And counteroffensive failed before it even started, it's more narrative from Russian propaganda, when in reality nobody didn't promised exact dates when it will start.
BTW, not sure that we can call it as counteroffensive, but Ukraine made some progress in Zaporizhia oblast:

1158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: June 04, 2023, 11:55:26 PM
Another easy win for RBR without even pushing at 100%.
Good recovery from Mercedes but they are still probably almost 1 second slower then RBR in a single lap in the race.

Disaster Ferrari as usual.
This race wasn't much more exciting than Monaco, even with that chican in 3rd sector removed, Barcelona is still quite boring track. Max is simply racing in other league. With few bad races in a row for Perez, Max lead against him is already 53 points. All talks that he can give fight for Verstappen is over now.
That was very solid double podium for Mercedes. They were so confident today and nobody weren't able to challenge them. And Ferrari just being Ferrari, as usual.
1159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: June 04, 2023, 11:43:51 PM

Top 5 as it stands.

Harkorede came back strong in the final round to clinch first place. Congrats on the win! In the three Serie A editions of this pool, we've got three different winners.

It was great fun playing with you all! Many thanks to Trofo for making this pool happen, as well as to our generous sponsor, Sportsbet.io
Congratulations to all winners - well deserved! And thanks Trofo and Sportsbet for another great season. For me personally it wasn't good. IIRC, I was 1st or 2nd before World Cup break, but after it I started to go down constantly. On final round I managed to go up by 2 place to 6th, but I was very far from 5th place.
1160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Belgian Jupiler league 22/23 - discussion on: June 04, 2023, 11:38:51 PM
what a round, what a finish

if someone thought that Arsenal or Dortmund are major bottlers this season, Royale (but also Genk) gave everything to ditch them
had title in the pocket until minute 89, then conceived and still were up to position 2, behind Genk at that point, but conceived one more in extra-time to lose the match and CL spot as well
in other match, Antwerp scored in 90+4 to secure a draw and take the title from Genk, who should be satisfied due to secure CL qualification spot

congrats to Antwerp on winning title, they were third after regular season, but came on top in the end
It's one of craziest season ending that I saw for a while. All 3 contenders were leading table at different time of match. It's unbeleavable how Royale bottled title again, they had everything in their hands until 89th minute, but then conceded 3 goals against Brugge - team which fight for nothing in last round.
Other game where title winner was decided was exciting too. After Brugge took a lead in other game, title was in Genk hands, but Alderweireld goal on 64th minute brings first league title for Antwerp since 1956-57 season. Full stadium of specators in Antwerp was watching game of their team in large screens and I'm trying to imagine what going on in Antwerp now.

It would be nice to see some more big players in this league. A number of big Belgian names have reached the absolute world top, such as De Bruijne and Lukaku, but Hazard was also here. They all started in the Belgian league, but unfortunately there is not enough money to keep those players in this league. I think it mainly has to do with the sponsors present. If you want to keep or attract big players, you will have to look for bigger sponsors and not what is current. Mark van Bommel has of course done an excellent job with Antwerp this season.
Well, not every league can be Top 5 league. Blegian league role is development of young players and veterans coming here to end their career - something similar like Eredivisie, just smaller scale.
