121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 29, 2023, 11:52:21 PM
Being responsible with gambling is really tough when we don't have the ability to have control over our gambling activity. To make things better and be on the safer side we need to have our limits set. Everytime we can't be able to have control over our wager all the time. Gambling is fun when we're on the winning streak, but the same turns away and make people go out of control when they're on the losing side.

Being into gambling addiction happens all of the sudden, and not many accept it. Whenever there is loss in our gambling we should have the ability to take a break and self analyse. This lets us understand our situation in gambling and take necessary measures to have risk free gambling.
122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to build a career with bitcoin? on: October 29, 2023, 11:34:01 PM
What OP had said is the reality. When we don't have the ability to risk, we won't end up earning big. Same time when the risk factor isn't handled well, we end up losing which might end our interest into cryptocurrency. Having a career into bitcoin is possible, but the same need to be experimented with small amount and further the same can be increased. This means we'll understand better about the market as well as the growth of bitcoin. As OP's brother not everyone get lucky to make good return out of the investment. We should not think of something has happened with the person next to us and the same will happen for us. We need to understand and have the ability to analyse. When this is possible automatically we know how to overcome the risk and make bitcoin earning good.
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 29, 2023, 11:17:14 PM
...and so it comes to pass, another final against Medvedev and Sinner. Both players won their
matches yesterday in 2 sets but in fairness they were hard fought battles with tie breaks for both.

So for todays final the odds are close: Medvedev 1.71 v 2.15 Sinner.

Sinner has definitely improved this year and noticeably in the second half, he just
might pull off the win and is worth a 2.15 bet.
Sinner had won the match against Medvedev 79-67 4-6 6-3 which is real fight. The win of the first set through the tie breaker have made it a winning match for him. With the Vienna title win once again he makes himself a strong contender against Medvedev. Earlier in this month he won against him in the Beijing final. Medvedev at the presentation had mentioned it a tough match and both had met in four tour level finals this year and stands 2-2.
124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if there was only one cryptocurrency, which is Bitcoin? on: October 29, 2023, 11:03:15 PM
Even if there is only one cryptocurrency and that is bitcoin, people will be with some sort of thoughts whether to invest into cryptocurrency or some other assets. Human minds were like monkey minds, it won't be stable. It is our understanding that makes to get fixed to something. Here the existence of lots of altcoins is good for bitcoin according to me. With this people were able to clearly differentiate and understand which is better.

If we have got only one bitcoin, even if it had grown high and have the best technology it won't be much used. When there is competence the growth will be reached shortly, if not this happens in a gradual way. In that stance we might've not experienced the ATH of bitcoin to be this high. At some point ethereum was a real competing asset and those things have pushed the growth to some extent.
125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption in coming years, merchants will be left behind on: October 29, 2023, 05:58:30 PM
Merchants doesn't want to be on the riskier side. Only the business people with good understanding about technology advancement will understand about bitcoin as well as its advantages over other payment systems. Even now we were able to see good number of merchants accepting bitcoin into their business, however very few prefer the direct wallet to wallet transfer whereas the majority of the merchants depend on a third-party same as bitpay that receive in form of bitcoin and settle the merchant with fiat of his/her request. First of all people aren't ready to give importance to bitcoin as a form of transaction source considering its massive growth. There needs to be transition happening with the trader to accept and users to spend.
126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 29, 2023, 05:40:14 PM
This world cup contest is between India, NZ, Australia and South Africa. The rest of teams are no way near to them and are out from this tournament.
Wrong. India and South Africa are the only ones who pretty much qualified for the semi-finals while NZ and Australia have the highest chances to claim the remaining two spots among the remaining teams.

Sri Lanka/Afghanistan still can qualify if they keep winning their remaining matches and if NZ/Australia keep losing the rest of their matches.
Those teams already on the top four position on the points table were to reach the semifinals. The chance of England and Bangladesh to reach the semifinals is almost nil, as they need to win all the three matches with good run rate. Sri Lanka and Afghanistan have got better chance than Pakistan and Netherlands, however to win the rest of the matches isn't possible for those countries. Lets see if any of those Countries does miracle to reach the top position. India and South Africa have confirmed their position. India is really strong in chasing as well as defending. Today's match none expected such a result of winning by 100 runs as it is low scoring one. Rohit Sharma played responsibly and the bowlers outlawed the England batsman in style.
127  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Is Better Than Digital Gold on: October 29, 2023, 05:33:48 PM
Yes, gold is no longer a good investment as it has reached its limit, and it is more suitable as a hedging tool in these days. What I just want to point out is that in the past gold was also a very profitable investment, and also helped many people get rich, not completely useless like poodle63 said.

As for bitcoin, I am a bitcoin investor and I admit that today it has more potential than gold in terms of returns because it is a new asset. There have also been many people who have changed their lives thanks to investing in bitcoin and there will be more in the future. But that doesn't mean we can deny the role of gold in the past and present. We don't need to vilify another asset to make bitcoin shine brighter.
Well, if it's for investing, I agree that Bitcoin is much better, but if it's for saving, I think there are many other things, including gold, that are more appropriate.
Actually, these cannot be compared because they have different functions, and it all comes back to each of us as to what function we use, if it is for investing of course Bitcoin is much better because it has quite significant price movements so it is possible to make a profit (such as investment objectives).
With bitcoin we don't have much of difference between saving and holding. Both were similar, just adding little by little to the wallet where bitcoin is kept for long term gives the benefit of investing through the growth experienced.

With digital gold we don't have such an access to hold and experience the benefits of investing. With digital gold there are different types of investment and we need to analyse well and invest, if not we get trapped. When it comes to gold, investing what is excess in our hand and doesn't require in the short is the right way. In specific Gold bonds were more profitable than other forms of digital gold investment, but with these bonds we won't be able to withdraw the fund whenever necessary. Only after specific number of years the amount can be withdrawn, and for those years we'll be provided with specific percentage interest on the amount invested. Bitcoin and gold are completely different and we need to understand well and move forward to invest.
128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 29, 2023, 01:30:19 PM
India vs England,
England need 230 runs from 300 balls to win this crucial match against India. Keeping a team like India below 250 runs is not an easy task. England have lost a few matches in a row and they are trying to recover and maybe they will get back to winning ways with the India match. Chasing 230 runs, there is nothing not to win then opponents England. With enough balls in hand and enough runs on the wicket, England's batsmen should not be so aggressive early on. England's batsmen have tried to attack too much from the beginning in all the matches and because of this they have lost most of the matches. England must be patient today and leave the field after winning this match today.
With good batting order this is going to be an easy win for England team. Today England bowlers were awesome to break partnerships. In most of the Matches of India strong opening partnership gets built. In today's match early wickets of Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer made it a low scoring match. Rohit Sharma stood strong, but he missed his century. Rahul also contributed good, but went for the wrong shot and lost his wicket. Team batting first have got higher win based on the past matches played in Lucknow.

England had started good and Bumrah have come to form taking back to back wickets of Malan and Root. This is completely unexpected from the England team and there'll be pressure then onwards. If I'm not wrong England will move towards slow scoring as wickets have begun to fall.
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to invest or trade Bitcoin? on: October 28, 2023, 11:59:17 PM
Everything depends on the person involved. Whether he's a person who have got the ability to take risk or want to be on the safer side. Different parameters need to be considered before coming to a conclusion. Based on my understanding trading is much concerned about the short term profit making and have high risk whereas investing is long term focused and the risks were low.

At times trading also looks like gambling when you don't have the knowledge and get into it. Investing is not as that you analyse the right asset and hold it longer. Trading with good knowledge brings better profit than waiting longer for the profit out of investment. This means the trader might make 25% profit every month whereas the investor makes 25% profit in a year. Based on the profiting will be the risk associated.
130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: October 28, 2023, 11:55:36 PM
Gamblers have their own reasons; to be honest, not all of them are crooks like that. What we have seen is wild or greedy, and we will immediately think of them. In fact, his point is valid; if that is really his reason because he is willing to take the risk, then we don't care about that because it is his choice.

And whatever he does, it's not really us who will be affected, but him, so there's no point in debating or arguing with him. This is just my own view and opinion on what we are talking about here.
It is his money and he have the right to make decision. What he had in his mind isn't known. As a gambler he had placed the bet and waiting for the result. Every form of gambling is risk and greed accompanying it is common. It is upto the gambler and here in my view the gambler could've made a wise decision as he had the opportunity to cashout In profit. He could've cashed out and further placed a bet which is kind of free bet, because his capital isn't lost.
131  Economy / Economics / Re: if you think 18k btc is low wait until autumn ... on: October 28, 2023, 11:45:22 PM
Its ok, we can't have all bull callers, some people has to just do this kind of thing and that's understandable, there is nothing wrong with that. I am not saying that he was right, but not ALL people would be interested. Bitcoin isl like that, it has polar sides and some think that it will constantly drop and some think that it will constantly go up, both are wrong. Sometimes it goes up, sometimes it goes down, if I told people that it would be 15k in a year back when it was 68k, they would think I am mad and stupid  too, but it did fall there, or when it was 4k if I told people it would be 60k+ in a year, they would think I am dreaming. Sometimes we end up being right, sometimes we end up being wrong.
This thread had been started almost one and a half years back. It was during the time bitcoin was close around $50k by the start of 2022 and it slowly started to fall and at some point it reached the range of $18k. What he had mentioned in the title happened, price further dropped during the month of November and touched $16k which is big opportunity for the investors. From there once again the price had turned bullish and was around the range of $23k -$27k for a longer time period and now once again a sudden bounce have taken place reaching $34k+ and this autumn we don't have choice of turning bearish.
132  Economy / Economics / Re: Almost All Countries Affected by Inflation, Opportunity for Bitcoin! on: October 28, 2023, 11:35:34 PM
Of course, we all know everything advantageous if you were to use Bitcoin and HODL it. It's going to be different for every country but the important thing to see if it has really an effect is that there would be more countries to adopt it. We cannot really quantify if we have so little data. If there would be somewhat of a Bitcoin standard, that would be interesting as well.
Just because the market have bounced the inflation rate could've been seen better with the countries. Just think of a situation whether there is no big movement in market value of bitcoin. In that situation surely the inflation rate will be worse than what every country is experiencing at the present. For people it is an opportunity to be on the safer side. I don't think governments could be more beneficial out of bitcoin. To my understanding governments can consider bitcoin reserve same as gold and there are few countries that already have bitcoin reserve.
133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: October 28, 2023, 11:29:58 PM
One thing about Barcelona is that no matter how bad their team is they'll always want to dominate in a match based on their Pattern of football that requires them to hold the ball mostly, how their performance was very good today and I was very suprised they scored an early goal in today's match, because I felt Realmadrid had a better squad and would win the game, well they did but it took them until the second half to get a comeback and win Barcelona.
Without a doubt, Barcelona dominated the first half and had little time in the second half they dominated. the game velocity changed when Modric was introduced in the match to play for Real Madrid. That feature of Modric performance alone scattered Barcelona's playing pattern. And it changes the atmosphere of the match for Real Madrid to make a comeback and win through Bellingham.
I never believed that the Real Madrid team could later end up winning over Barcelona due to how they started in the first half

The goal coming at the 6th minute for Barcelona kept Real Madrid under pressure till they had the equaliser goal by the 68th minute. Soon after the opener goal Barcelona were confident and as they had the highest winning on head to head. Real Madrid further took the opportunity and the defence were really good with them. The second goal of Real Madrid coming at the additional time is a big disappointment and none expected it. As said there is big difference in the playing style between the first and second half of the match. It is the first match Barcelona have lost in this season.
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: October 28, 2023, 11:17:18 PM
Slowly we can guess which team will be the champion of the Saudi Pro League this season, not only because of the 5 point advantage they currently have but also the factor in which they appear quite consistent when facing a fairly strong team like Al Ahli. Winning with a convincing score in a big match will make Al Hilal even more confident when facing other strong teams, at least they have already defeated two strong teams.
Al Hilal was successful in making changes to its team with several new players it bought in the last transfer market, even though one of its stars was injured but there has been no visible decline.
If we look at the SPL standing now, Al Hilal and Al Nassr will compete for the title. I don't think Al Hilal is safe in the 1st place although they are leading with 4 points. It is still matchday 11, there are still many matches left. Anyway, in matchday 15, Al Hilal will fight with Al Nassr. I think the result of this match will determine which team to win the title this season.

Al Hilal defeated Al Ahli yesterday, it was a clear sign that Al Hilal is strong enough this season. They also could play consistently so far, they never got a loss. However, it can't guarantee anything since the season is far from the end. So, Al Hilal must keep their focus, they must avoid playing with too confident. It can destroy their focus, every team in SPL isn't impossible to beat them at any time.

The competence will continue till the last match. When the teams at the top position play against each other we'll know how good are the performance from the team. The presence of Ronaldo is a big strength for Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal is no down in any means. Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr have just a small difference as Al-Hilal have won 9 matches and Al-Nassr have won 8 matches.

During the previous season there were some hatred against Ronaldo, because there were big expectation and they weren't able to fulfil. This time there is little disappointment at the beginning, soon after that Al-Nassr performed well and they've reached the second position on the points table.
135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 28, 2023, 04:11:59 PM

Bangladesh need 90 more runs in 10 overs at an average of 9 runs per over. But they don't have enough wickets.  Bangladesh has already lost 8 wickets. so there is a high possibility that Bangladesh will lose the match and Bangladesh will lose by one huge run margin like you mentioned . Bangladesh have lost their last four matches too. It has been seen in the last matches that Shakib Al Hasan has played very badly and today he got out by taking only five runs. his performance is destroying all his previous reputation. as a Bangladeshi, I feel very ashamed to watch such a game for Bangladesh.
Netherlands have won the match by 87 runs. Bangladesh could've never thought of such a defeat from Netherlands team. Winning the toss and deciding to bat shows the confidence of Netherlands. They had some plan and they succeeded executing it. For Netherlands it was Scott Edwards and Engelbrecht who scored good and stood wicket. 229 runs was kind of easy target, but Bangladesh kept losing wickets from the beginning and no one were able to score solid runs. van Meekran bowled well and took 4 wickets. Netherlands have won two matches in a world cup for the very first time. Soon after the win Netherlands have moved to the 8th position on points table whereas the defending champion England have gone down to the 10th position on the points table.
136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe I should have taken this risk earlier. on: October 28, 2023, 01:36:16 PM
In the gambling discussion section quite often it is possible to see statements, risk what you can afford to loss. This suits well to OP, what is in the bank is the fund kept aside for your education. We can't be sure of the bitcoin market. Just think of a situation where the price have gone down soon after you've invested. This will surely make you worried and look for other ways to compensate what had been lost.

Even now the price predictions were positive as well as there is some price predictions of price testing the range of $31000. If you've got excess fund, investing into bitcoin is good. Risking the money for education is not the right choice. If not, you should have the time period to hold. 3 to 4 months of holding is highly riskier, if you're lucky you may get to enjoy even in the short time duration.
137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 28, 2023, 12:57:53 PM
So, Australia has given a target of 389 to New Zealand. At one stage, Austalia was under pressure, and they were looking at a target somewhere between 350- 360, but some lusty blows for Pat Cummins increased the target toward 390. Trent Boult pulled back things a bit at the end by taking three wickets in the penultimate over. It will be a difficult target to chase by looking at the Australian blowing attack, but New Zealand betters have the ability to chase down this total. I think it will be a thriller; let's see how New Zealand will approach this target.
what a comeback for travis head after the injury as he smacks a century off just 58 balls. Such a mind boggling stuff he scored 109 runs just 67 balls. A big total for Australia 388 in loss of 10 wickets in 50 Overs. Australia run-rate: 7.5 in this match against NewZealand and Phillips' economy rate: 3.7  Picked up the 3 wickets of Warner, Head, Smith and led the NewZealand comeback. Phillips is just a part time bowlers. If Australia wins today against New Zealand, it will benefit Pakistan. If Australia beat NewZealand with a bigger margin even better. In my opinion Australia will defend 389 runs and win this match by huge margin

In the first innings, we thought that Australia would win the match easily but Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell  and David Warner proved them wrong by hitting a century and half-century but right now the match is very intense and the match comes into pressure, the both teams are under pressure but the ore winning chances is Australia because the main batsman of New Zealand were out and now bowlers are on strike. New Zealand needs 32 scores in 2 overs, which means 12 balls. The match is very intense, now let’s see what happens which team will win after the next two overs.
Watched the entire match without missing a single ball. While Australia was batting the scoring pattern made me continue watching. Looking upon the target it looked like an easy win for Australia. However Australia managed to win the match by a small margin of 5 runs, and New Zealand is really good in reaching close to the target. Amidst the early loss of Devon Conway and Young the team managed to keep its scoring undisturbed. Rachin Ravindra contributed with a century scoring 116 runs and took the team towards win, going for an unwanted shot when he's a must to chase the target lowered the winning chance of New Zealand. Further Neesham with his tremendous performance scored 58 runs and made the team reach 383 runs by the end of 50 overs. Much thrilled at the end same as what happened with South Africa vs Pakistan match.

In the second match today, Netherlands won the toss and elected to bat first. The pitch is batting-friendly, and it will be a high-scoring match, as per prediction. Bangladesh got early breakthroughs in the 2nd and 3rd overs. Bangladesh is the favourite to win this match.
Australia were able to score 388 runs just because Warner and Travis Head gave a good start scoring 81 and 109. The team had an opening partnership of 175 runs. In the first 10 overs Australia scored 118 runs, and those runs from the powerplay helped reach good target. Further the scoring isn't that good and Australia maintained the 6rpo average. However it was predicted for 400+ runs. In between Glenn Phillips gave good break taking the wickets of Warner, Travis and Smith which slowed down the scoring. At the middle order Maxwell, Inglis, and Cummins contributed good. Lets see if New Zealand can chase the target.
139  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buying at 35k? on: October 27, 2023, 11:59:43 PM
The price is predicted to continue its bullish move. It continues to have the uptrend as the investors are much into buying. The RSI is at the overbought which makes the bullish move strong. The market is gaining resistance to move higher to cross the $35k barrier. This won't be broken shortly. It could fall back, till $31000 and retest to move forward. Based on this market situation it is good for OP to continue his buying at the moment and look for increasing his holding through trading participation. Right now is good as there is regular market fluctuation happening in a better range.

In Austria, Zverev will play aginst Rublev. It will probably be a close match.

yes thats an interesting match up, Zverev gas found some form but Rublev will be tough
gor Zverev to beat I think.

Really tasty quarter finals in Vienna:::

The most interesting is Tsitsipas v Gojo who got a wildcard into the tournament,
and who could possibly beat Tsitsipas. His odds are 3.0!

Medvedev should win and
Sinner should win

Yeah, any of these matches could have easily been a Masters or a Grand Slam final! I watched Rublev v Zverev and it was a great match! Rublev showed more consistency and won 6-1, 6-7 (5), 6-3. Earlier, Medvedev defeated Khachanov and Tsitsipas came out victorious agains Gojo.

Sinner v Tiafoe under way at the moment Sinner taking an early lead 3:0.

Meanwhile in Basel, Holger Rune continued his winning streak with a win against Etcheverry 6:1, 3:6, 7:6.
Finally top four seeds have reached the semifinals. The matches were between Medvedev and Tsitsipas, Rublev and Sinner.
Medvedev and Tsitsipas have met 12 times and it is Medvedev to take the lead of winning 8 matches. The recent match being played in the ATP Masters 1000 Rome in which Medvedev won 7-5 7-5
Based on the head to head stats, Sinner have won 3 matches and Rublev have won 2 matches. The recent encounter between the two had taken place in this year's ATP Masters Miami. In the match Sinner had won it in the dominant manner 6-2 6-4. Lets see what happens in the upcoming matches.
