121  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [NOW AVAILABLE] BTChip / Ledger HW1 : Bitcoin Hardware Wallet in a USB smartcard on: November 19, 2015, 03:42:45 AM
I've been using the ledger wallet for a while and am very happy. The low cost is what convinced me at first, and it looks like the bitchip is even cheaper. The one thing I would suggest is some sort of protective casing. I am confident to carry my ledger around in my pocket if need be because it is in a little slip case. If bit chip had something similar it would be perfect
122  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Paris France ISIS Killer had $3 million dollar BTC Wallet on: November 19, 2015, 01:25:49 AM
Show us the wallet and proof that it's theirs! You can have the whole internet trying to hack it open. I think $3 million is a decent bounty, don't you?
123  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-11-18] Public bitcoin machine turns 1 year old, but it’s a lonely birthday on: November 19, 2015, 01:21:20 AM
I dunno about the btc machines... Btc has become pretty easy to buy online plus you can take advantage of market volatility. I think the btc machines are mainly for total newbies and novelty really. Not a very sustainable market
124  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: labcoin lawsuit on: November 19, 2015, 01:14:56 AM
Where's Virtual Spade at? Anyone seen him around? My guess is there's no news to report. I seem to recall that things were developing but we're not able to be discussed yet which sounded promising but that was a long time ago
125  Bitcoin / Hardware / BFL 60Ghs problems on: November 19, 2015, 01:09:45 AM
Hi, I got my BFL 60ghs ASIC just before the 2013 bubble (thankfully because I was able to pay for the year late thing and make a bit of profit before the difficulty edged me out of the game)
I eventually unplugged it and put it aside because it wasn't making much btc and I needed to do work on the room it ran in
Last week I thought I'd fire it up again just for the hell of it but it does not seem to work any more. I think it is a software problem because it seems to make the right noises like it used to but the program it came with just says nothing is connected.
Is there a new software bundle or a better software bundle I can use? I'm not interested in talking to BFL as they are assh*les but I seem to recal there was some sort of software issues from their end around after I unplugged.

I'm using an acer notebook with Windows to run it
126  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Would anybody play my game? on: November 19, 2015, 12:53:37 AM
I only play games on my iPhone my laptop is strictly for work and financial stuff. If you can get a version for the App Store you will be set to make money. Just be very careful how you integrate btc Apple has a bunch of rules surrounding in game btc rewards. It's not impossible but you have to have your ducks in a row.

But iOS is the way to go.
127  Other / Politics & Society / Re: is ISIS really using Bitcoin? on: November 19, 2015, 12:43:00 AM
ISIS might be using Bitcoin but probably aren't for the same reasons most of the rest of the world isn't. Too volatile too hard to exchange too open to hacker theft... Which, if they prove and show the address, would pretty much mean "open season" for those millions. If someone can hack them and steal those coins it would be welcomed by the rest of us!
128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Locked out of Bitcoin Wallet on: November 19, 2015, 12:36:42 AM
So little info OP. Tell us what happened. What wallet and how you lost control of it. All the info you can provide. Otherwise we can't know if you actually own that wallet or not.
129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you store your bitcoins ? on: November 19, 2015, 12:27:10 AM
I got robbed of 6 btc last year so after wiping my computer I bought a ledger wallet. 100% safe and secure, low cost for peace of mind. I recommend ledger's product to anyone who will listen
130  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-11-18] Rogue WiFi Hotspots Are A Real Threat To Bitcoin users on: November 19, 2015, 12:24:31 AM
I don't use my phone for anything financial or involving personal info I don't want compromised. Phones are going to be the most targeted devices soon, if they aren't already. People simply aren't careful
131  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-10-31] NewsBTC CA: CAVirtex: Scam in the Making? on: November 19, 2015, 12:19:42 AM
I remember when they were on havelock and people were starting to voice some concerns. I'd already been burned on enough btc securities to stay well away. I use cavirtex to buy and sell though. Haven't had any issues with that.
132  Bitcoin / Press / [2015-11-16] CD BTC scam using JP Morgan Branding on: November 19, 2015, 12:10:42 AM
http://www.coindesk.com/digital-currency-scam-jpmorgan-branding/ they are trying to hype a PoS alt coin and cloud mining service as JPMcoin but JP Morgan has nothing to do with it.
133  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] NOTPRICELESS - The Blockchain Secured Collectible Marketplace! on: November 18, 2015, 12:01:43 AM
I'm going to have to take a closer look at this. It is a little misleading that you use language like "limited edition" and "art lithograph" when you seem to be dealing simple art posters. I doubt you have original limited edition klimts or Renaissance works. That said, fine art posters have value too, I'm going to look closely
134  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-11-17]Inverse - No Nobel prize for Nakamoto on: November 17, 2015, 11:47:06 PM
Too many economics academics would look silly if he won too. You know how much academics like looking foolish.

Nobel just got that much less relevant
135  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-11-14] Bitcoin price scyrockets to $2200 on Gemini Exchange on: November 17, 2015, 11:41:41 PM
The winkle bros had better address this. If it is a user error or a glitch, and what they did about it. Just letting it sit there doesn't look good for Gemini
136  Economy / Collectibles / Re: wall sculpture - BITCOIN USA - artwork on: November 17, 2015, 11:35:03 PM
It is very nice.
I have done some stone carving myself, is this stone fairly hard? I'm guessing it is similar hardness to limestone. Maybe marble. Seems less granular.
It has a beautiful finish. Do you have any pics of your workshop. Like I say I've done a little carving, mostly hand tools and a pneumatic chisel on soft marble. Nothing as nice as what you have made.
Very nice indeed
137  Economy / Securities / Re: [Havelock] RentalStarter - A Midwest Real Estate Investment Company on: November 17, 2015, 11:24:30 PM
These kind of recession housing markets can work, but not on this small scale. Basically you need to go in with enough backing to buy up foreclosure so and do all sorts of upgrades and management, even then it's risky.

You can get an acre of land for $5000 usd at the Salton Sea. Still don't nobody wanna live there
138  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-11-17] Satoshi Nakamoto Not Eligible for Nobel Prize on: November 17, 2015, 11:19:09 PM
It's true the Nobel is not as relevant as it once was. The whole thing is just guilt money anyways. It was started by the inventor of dynamite to make up for all the death and destruction he caused.

I only really follow the Nobel for literature... Can't say I've agreed with any of their choices for years now
139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: And the Black Belt in Bitcoin News Plagiarism Goes To Cointelegraph -NewsBTC on: November 17, 2015, 11:14:29 PM
There's a similar discussion surrounding comedians and their jokes being stolen on Twitter
They call it aggregating. As long as people can get paid for traffic they are going to steal click bait worthy stuff.
That she rewrites the article to place herself in it is pretty egregious tho.
Not sure what recourse you have or if it would be worth it to lawyer up, but spread the news. Hell, this could make an interesting btc related news item that you could disseminate across the network 😜
140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transactions very slow tonight on: November 17, 2015, 11:07:45 PM
I think most of us are prepared for long confirmation times (possibly) and can use block explorer to watch them go through, but honestly, this has been at issue for years. If I use cc or interac I get instant payment. I'd like to see btc move a lot faster. That's why I support increased block size.
