81  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: December 16, 2015, 10:30:27 PM
It's a scam as far as I'm concerned, but what Ken is legally guilty of is running a security illegally. They don't actually care what happened to active as a company, it's just that if you are going to offer shares to be trad d you have certain responsibilities you must adhere to... Like making good on promises of guaranteed returns. Also to not be misleading to investors. Ken owes every shareholder returns he promised yet failed to deliver. If his business went bankrupt legitimately he is still required to do a buy back. He should have held back enough funds to do so yet obviously didn't. Or he did but decided to reneg
82  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: labcoin lawsuit on: December 14, 2015, 07:06:04 AM
Yes I did send my info to the lawyer. Haven't heard anything else though
83  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: December 13, 2015, 11:09:31 PM
I accumulated shares over all the different platforms. I had to list where when and how much I paid for each purchase. I wound up doing it manually - copying the info from all the accounts - I was unsure if this was adequate and included screen grabs but S Hagerty assured me my reporting was good.

Nothing can happen until ken shows his face and pays his fines. They will issue a warrant for his arrest if he refuses then he will face a "disgorgement" where all his assets are seized. We only get restitution after the fines are paid.

I did give Shawn Ken's home address (home worth about 100k)

Hopefully they bleed him dry, throw him in jail and make his whole family homeless.did anyone determine what happened with the supposed refund from hashfast?

It was supposed to be ~1 000 000 wasn't it?
84  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: labcoin lawsuit on: December 13, 2015, 10:56:10 PM
I'm pretty sure I did... It's been so long... Lab coin was only listed on btc-TC right?
85  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] Official Shareholder Discussion Thread [Moderated] on: December 12, 2015, 02:46:46 AM
any news here? i dont want to bother shawn haggerty any more than i need to but ken has missed his date to pay fines (i assume) and i wonder what is next?
86  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: labcoin lawsuit on: December 12, 2015, 02:42:14 AM

gogxmagog... speaking to the police would not help he told me. He does not even get info about the case and he is the lawyer, the plaintiff would not get info and we are not even plaintiffs in this case, only adjacent raising of the damage to initiate the case. But the investigation goes on.

ok i wont interfere.

i just would like to be included in this lawsuit

i'm not sure why i didnt just join in at first... i think the whole thing made me afraid that EVERYONE is a scammer but i did eventually start to trust VS, and you SebastianJu... I donated some BTC to VS later on too...

Between activemining, asicminer, and this labcoin fraud i've lost almost all my btc... almost 100 total! please keep me informed of any progress and any action i need to take

thanks for taking up this difficult work
87  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: December 11, 2015, 09:38:15 AM
Maybe we should ask these guys https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1023187.0 if they know something about the whereabout of asicminer's vanished miners that were hosted in mongolia? Cheesy
I remember this
Wasn't it determined these guys have nothing to do with FC's exit?
I don't recall. The location is secret anyway, and if they're dealing with FC and stolen miners I'm pretty sure they won't talk.
It all makes me sick
88  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: labcoin lawsuit on: December 11, 2015, 09:31:50 AM
I agree but I really don't know what to do.
I'm drained of all money and cannot help with that.
I never was invited to the chat room or forum...
The time frame was quoted as 6 to 12 months, but could be extended if circumstances allow. I would guess the "good news" or maybe the fact the police realize Alberto is out of Italy but has enough evidence to be charged might buy some more time.
Is there an English speaking police I could talk to?
I have zero Italian but I could talk to an English speaking police.
I would need some run down of what questions to ask...
Or do we communicate with the lawyer?
Will VS answer PMs?
I would love to see some justice but I am sort of in the dark as to where we are and how best to proceed.
89  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: labcoin lawsuit on: December 11, 2015, 01:03:39 AM
SebastianJu here is the simplified version of where we are (as I understand it)

Italian Police require that we (lcsh) present our complaint and all evidence showing that (done)

Police decide if they need to investigate (they are investigating)

Now it gets complicated because Alberto is hiding outside Italy (I think?)

This part can take a long time as Italian authorities are notoriously slow)

But the Italian police have determined Alberto is wanted for "impersonation" (fraud)

They need to locate him so they can charge him and bring him to court (any of us who can find him can help here)

That is all I know of this case... I really am not sure.

I'd like to hear from VS and know where we are
90  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: labcoin lawsuit on: December 10, 2015, 05:35:44 PM
If there's no news there's no news to report. Bitcointalk has turned into a place where very little news info or anything of interest regarding BTC happens. Just sig campaigns and scammers. VS probably moved on to another forum. At least I hope that's what happened. He did collect some donations for the lawsuit but I don't think it was much.

Here's hoping we might hear some news sometime in the future. Might never happen.

I can monitor everything on havelock without Internet connection or mobile device. I just walk to the toilet and look there
92  Other / Meta / Re: What The Heck Is going on here? on: November 26, 2015, 11:43:35 PM
fair enough. i did notice that they were self moderated as well. just curious as to why they would bother doing such a thing. wouldn't it be easier to simply delete the thread entirely?
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Bethesda Create Bitcoin? What Are The Three Towers? Relevance Of 9/11? on: November 26, 2015, 11:41:03 PM
do you conspiracy nuts say these sort of fanatical fictions to 911 first responders? do you say this stuff to the families of the hundreds of innocent workers killed on 911? do you even think of that sort of thing? or is it all some sort of stoner game you play with yourself deep in the polluted folds of your drug addled brains?

911 was what we call "blowback" USA foreign policy and secret service maneuvers finally bit them on the ass. thousands of innocent people died. just like tens of thousands die and continue to die in the middle east. its ugly, but its no conspiracy.
94  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what about scammer ? on: November 26, 2015, 11:35:45 PM
any scam that can be done on the street with fiat can be replicated online with btc. simple as that.

if a guy downtown asks you for 10 dollars and says he will be right back in 15 minutes with 20 dollars, would you trust him, give him the money and wait for him to return with double? i doubt it. why would you trust an invisible anon online for the same? you should actually trust them less. you dont even know what they look like or what country they are in... its harder to catch them.

btc will be full of scams for a long time, just like there are always new scams using fiat. btc might actually become more scam-filled because, like i said above, its harder to trace the scammer and bring them to justice.

its the fault of unscrupulous people. not btc. the only thing you can do is be ever vigilant and trust no one
95  Other / Meta / What The Heck Is going on here? on: November 26, 2015, 11:20:37 PM
I woke up this morning to 17 new messages on my bitcointalk account. all 17 were deleted posts. all the deleted post messages show that they came from "guest" none of them give a reason, many of the original posts are weeks old....

I dont actually get it. am i being attacked? nothing that got deleted was even slightly controversial, none of the posts were spammy or unconstructive... what unifies them is basically how innocuous they all were...

i dont have time to put all the deleted posts up here, but here are the last 3, just for a taste of whats happening...

It will certainly make arbitrage easier, and as a result stabilize the price. Of course the fat cats will manipulate the hell out of it and every hacker out there is going to target it. Interesting nonetheless. I will watch this

Taringa doesn't display properly on my device, I'll have to see if it looks better when I'm at my desktop. From what I could see it looked like a bunch of copy pasta memes n stuff. No different than the other social media sites. I'll also have to do some Google translating to see how original the original content is.
Maybe the paid contributors do a better job?
I belong to empeopled which pays for posts, comments and up votes. It's ok. Not very big and entirely just posted links. I'd like to see the idea take off though. Especially if it would generate some actual original original content

I was just reading something that mike Hearn wrote over at zapchain; “I think it's really good news that bigger financial institutions are getting involved. It lends a lot of credibility. However it's also a time limited offer: right now there's a lot of blockchain hype, but the blockchain algorithm is pretty specific to the needs of Bitcoin. It's not as generally applicable as some people like to think. So I suspect if they're mostly just looking around, some of these organisations will lose interest at some point.”

Relevant. I'm agreeing that these banks either like what they see or drop the whole thing altogether. It'll be clear which by next winter IMO

and it goes on and on.

I'm not really upset that posts were removed... past is past and you can see nothing really earthshaking has been deleted, but i am curious as to why i am being delete-bombed like this. is it some sort of attack, or is it a glitch? is this happening to anyone else?

all i can think is it is some sort of attack against signature campaigners by some butthurt user...

just the same, i feel these actions are an abuse of the system and i just wanted to make it known to the mods as well as all the other users at these forums...
96  Economy / Speculation / Price Increase Incoming. on: November 23, 2015, 03:55:56 AM
Get ready to dump some coins because a mini spike is going to happen in the next 48 hrs.
How do I know? You ask...

Because I just sold some btc. If it works out the same as every other time I've needed to liquidate, the price will go up at least 15 dollars before tomorrow night.

Just a friendly heads up

So there really is something sustainable worth investing here then...
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: November 21, 2015, 12:19:15 AM
in most cases the only way to pay for something using btc is by going through a 3rd party. this kind of defeats the basic purpose of btc. besides btc is too expensive and hard to get, and most holders are holding out of speculation. you would have to be rolling in btc to even think of spending it.

this will change when it is common to do all types of transactions in btc and they are done directly i.e. i get paid directly in btc from my bosses wallet to mine, and i can pay all my bills directly.

3rd party processors do more harm than good to the btc ecosystem. i really wish people would get that through their heads.
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the fashion industry. on: November 21, 2015, 12:13:14 AM
(Pics here)
Those aren't real fashion items.

Ours is name brand designer fashion...that's what we meant. Anyone can copy the bitcoin logo and paste it on a shirt or hoodie. We're making coats, shoes, (even high heels), dresses, suits, etc.....

This is probably why we need fashion advocates as adopters to thoroughly explain what name brand designer fashion actually is.

I mostly agree with this sentiment. screen printing a design on something is actually graphic design, fashion design would imply construction of garments... its oranges and apples though... like when people say they are curators because they made a list of something... actual curatorial practice involves a lot more than organizing things into a group, but most people dont care. my local taco truck has a menu that says it has been "curated" by so-&-so... only people with fine arts degrees notice how dumb this is.

Joseph Beuys said "Every man woman and child is an artists, there are no non-artists." he didn't specify that some of those "artists" get it and some dont.

BTC world is rife with lousy art. terrible fashion. awful music. Hobbyists clamoring to make a quick buck on the coat tails of a trend. Faddish and lacking in imagination. Tacky. Art and commerce have never had a good relationship. Its as simple as that.

I would qualify these as novelty apparel items. you should too, because the world of actual fashion designers will ridicule you into oblivion.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is more popular than forex! on: November 20, 2015, 11:56:54 PM
forex is huge, way bigger than btc. im sure it is simply that there is more chat around btc, especially since btc can conceivably be manipulated if you get enough people behind it (MMM anyone?) and forex is way too huge to be manipulated. at least the actual market.

people who know forex dont chat much, they watch indicators and news and are too busy doing trades. they know if you listen trolls will kill you. btc people should pay attention to that.
