Yeah, I understood they have a very healthy mining industry growing in Iceland. Geothermal energy, basically the only thing that comes cheap in Iceland, helps some of the biggest players. So it is not "prohibited" by any means.
Dinner for one, without wine, at a mediocre restaurant in Iceland costs about $100 USD, so I would bring plenty btc with you, probably cheaper than exchanged fiat.
What I don't know is... How willing are merchants to accept it?
I hear it's beautiful there but too rich for my blood btc or no

By the time your ranking is high enough to get a decent price, it will also be high enough to earn that same price every 2 months or so in a decent campaign. Why not just take your profits long get and steady?
Look at me. I'm a Legend (lol) and I might get what? 0.5 for my account. I make that in 2 months, and have done for almost a year (thus the legendary status... Campaigns force you to post a LOT!)

Look at it this way op. If someone can build something, then it is possible someone else can un build it. Nothing is 100% hack proof. It's what hacking means.
The most secure systems will have 2 or 3 factors of authentication, and even then... Somewhere, someone is working double hard to outsmart it.
If you are worried about security you should get a hardware wallet. Still not totally impenatrable but probably your best bet right now

I can't say if OP is dishonest or not, but either way his mine won't work. If it's a scam, it won't work for obvious reasons. If he has honest intentions, his sheer lack of experience alone will be his undoing.
Sorry OP but mining is no longer viable to anyone except huge scale mining manufacturers with Angle Investor scale backing, and even then risky.

Good work OP. I've wondered about the process behind Unicode symbols before, seems like you only need to get your proposal right. I'm surprised they think there is ownership behind the Bitcoin symbol... But hey... Bitcoin be Bitcoin.what was the Unicode symbol that you successfully petitioned for before?

Dopey's only "flaw" some tarnishing that will clean off with a little silver polish, or even soap and hot water
I wouldnt recommend this with a proof finish coin. In coin world a cleaned coin = coin now worth 50% of what it was before you started. I wasn't sure about that. That is why I didn't clean it. Here is a good guide http://bellevuerarecoins.com/archives/clean-coins-valuableThey say collectors call tarnish "toning" and don't mind it (helps date the coin) but if you must, show it to a dealer and ask his advice. As I said above... I have not even tried to clean this coin

Its only around $100 worth of silver, but it is the collector value that counts here. Dopey goes for more than the rest of the dwarves, prince, and group shot in this series... only the one of the witch is more sought after. The last 5oz Dopey I saw for sale online was $245 USD, so this one is a little less than that (1BTC=$224 USD as I type this)

... Every single offering in this thread is either bogus or simply doomed.
That sound so strangely familiar. As if a guy going by crumbs said the very same thing about two years ago... who'd of thunk it? crumbs was right... too bad he was such an asshat about it, people might have listened.

Interdasting! I was just in LA recently and didn't see any signs of BTC. a few merchants knew what it was but were doubtful they could do any substantial business in it. I did my best to encourage them, and my AirBnB host was probably the most won over, especially when I told him how much profits I had made simply by acquiring BTC over time. I pointed him here, for more info, and showed him how to set up a wallet. He said he would seriously consider accepting BTC for rentals of his AirBnB, even for payment for antiques, which he sells as well. oh yeah, and UBER is everywhere in LA. I used it several times to go out drinking in Tiki Bars... Tiki Ti's a fantastic Tiki Bar in Los Feliz/Silverlake hammered drunk at Tiki Ti's (sadly they didnt take BTC... yet. Still fun lets hope there are more, not 100% cynical Angelenos out there... most I met were bitter as hell!

I have a 5 troy Oz 999 silver coin commemorating the 50th anniversary of Disney's Snow White. It features Dopey (the greatest dwarf IMHO) and is marked with serial # 001472. The coin is in very good condition, no scratches or dings, with only a slight bit of tarnish on one small part of the edge and will come off with proper cleaning. The plastic case it comes in is scratched a little, and there is no box or certificate of authenticity, but I have taken it to my friend who deals gold and silver and he did his tests (density, magnetism, sound) and said it checks out. These coins were released as sets of 1/2, 1, and 5 ounce coins, in 1987 and were very popular among collectors, the 5 oz ones being rarest. I want 1 BTC for this coin. Firm. If you are interested PM me and we can work out shipping and escrow. I live in Canada, to give you a rough idea of what insured shipping might cost depending on where you are located. here's some pics Dopey (front) Dopey (back) Dopey (front-note no scratches) Dopey serial # (its a bad photo but you can still read "001472" Dopey's only "flaw" some tarnishing that will clean off with a little silver polish, or even soap and hot water Dopey in his scratchy case (back) Dopey in plastic case (front) dont miss this chance to pick up a piece of Disney history. you can get these on ebay from time to time, but not while supporting the btc economy!

I haven't yet because the nearest ones are 6 hrs away by bus and ferry. I believe there was one in my town year or two ago but had dissapointing turn out. My town has pretentions as a tech hub but it's also got a hippy tradition, so while there are a good number of tech savvy people here they still manage to be anti-technocracy. Microsoft came and opened a hub here a few years ago and wound up shuttering the operation inside 6 months. You can't force tech hub on a place, you just have to find where the hub already is and then go there. That place is 6 hours away. That said, I occasionally visit that city. I'm on their mailing list. They have regular monthly meet ups and they always look pretty cool. There is a lot of btc activity and interest there. I intend to try and attend next time I visit. The bitcoiners I have met in my town are so apathetic, it would be nice to meet some enthusiastic bitcoiners for a change
