I like litecoin better, its more stable I think.
Hm, it fell 75% in BTC, and 85% in USD since it peaked at the end of 2013. Can't really call that stable.

Bitcoin has reached close to a fair valuation, it could still go down to $400-450 (around 30% odds of this happening), but there should be strong support at that level. So the downside is limited. As for the upside, in the near future (few months) it's limited too, don't expect bubbles from now on, their time is past. There is a good chance the price can spike to $800 by Christmas and reach $1000-$1200 by next summer, which means a gradual rise of 7% each month. In traditional investments this is a very good return. If someone is looking to invest now, the safe strategy would be to invest 50% of your capital immediately, and then buy in steps all the way down to $400-450. I am pulling all this out of my ass, take with a grain of salt

Litecoin is going to test its previous low (0.009 btc) in 2014, no doubt about it.

ALL altcoins are shit. None of them adds any real value then what bitcoin can provide
You obviously haven't followed development of any altcoins.

What browser has this issue? (and windows version) Promise not to laugh ?? Windows Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7 Home Premium Edition Version 6.1.7600 .. I know .. bear skins and knives Triff .. Please use mozilla forefox. I wouldn't recommend using NXT until you have scanned your PC to check there are no trojans on it. It's very easy to get trojans if you use IE for your browser.

$800 is possible this year, around Christmas.
I agree now new bubble is coming near Christmas and its not as we have last year this time we are going to touch only 800$ to 850$ Where do people get this stuff? I mean, I can understand not taking $10k or $50 very seriously, but where do you come up with $800? I didn't say it'd be a bubble. It'll be a slow rise, no bubbles this time.

You guys live in a fantasy world. No country will officially adopt crypto currencies as legal tender. Ever. They'd have to shut down all the social programs and fire 90% of the government employees right there if they did that. Which would result in 2/3 of the population with no jobs whatsoever. The only way they can provide some jobs and social safety nets to a lot of people is because they can keep printing fiat. Stop dreaming, get real! Crypto currencies will always be unofficial.

If someone does a honest fair amount of work and the other stands around with his hands in his pockets, who are you going to pay?
I am going to pay the one whose product has more utility value and more useful functions. I don't care what they did to create the product, I care about the properties of product. I don't agree that PoS developers stand around with their hands in their pockets. I could say that about Bitcoin developers actually, Bitcoin is essentially the same as 5 years ago, not a single function was added on top of the primary function that Satoshi created. If a PoS crypto follows the same path, then it's of no use. But if a PoS crypto adds new functions, useful to people, then it stands above others. As for miners wasting electricity - that's not work, that's just wasting valuable resources of the planet.
|
|
|
That's only a theory. Not to mention it doesn't take into account different implementations of PoS.

We've already seen it.

Dunno about Bitcoin, but Dogecoin will rise for sure. Kids will be back in school from summer jobs, camps and whatever

why would anyone move from xmr to a pump and dump (cloaka)?
Because one pump-n-dump is not much different from another pump-n-dump?
|
|
|
The bonds are denominated in USD though. Plus they're already having inflation problems. Why would they print more pesos?
Because they need money for government spending, and they will be covering those expenditures with printing pesos. Government employees, social programs will be funded with this devalued peso. The same amount of peso will be buying less and less goods and services with each passing day. Basically, the same thing every country is doing more or less

Now you will also receive a bonus in the form of assets. You can trade these assets on NXT Asset Exchange.

Energy doesn't back PoW, because you cannot redeem bitcoins for a guaranteed amount of energy, like you could exchange bank notes for a specified amount of gold in the 19th century. Gold was then backing bank notes and if a bank printed too many bank notes, it couldn't service all customers' requests and went bankrupt.
In case of PoW coins energy doesn't back them, because there is no entity that guarantees any pay back with a certain amount of kWhs. The exchange rate is free floating. Hence, PoW only has utility value, not intrinsic value. People value crypto currencies for what they can do with them. With that in mind, it doesn't matter for users whether it's PoW or PoS, as long as the crypto does what they need it to.
