but we were talking about soviet democide and it being a 'propaganda' by our comrad 247 .

30% of all adult male Ukrainians in the age group of 15-34 years were killed by the Nazis, including millions exterminated in the POW camps. Was the Soviet democide any worse?

So now we look for the lesser bad, like if two wrongs make a right...  Roll Eyes

If two people have nothing in common outside of the bedroom, then they have no future. This could be very dangerous, especially if one of them have some executive or judicial power. Grin

Who's thinking about having a future?! Carpe diem!
She's cute now, as long term investment can be a way ruinous business.  Grin

What was expected? An "instant currency"?! How about creating a "IWillGuessWhatYouWillDoCoin" alt-coin? A coin that even before you know, spends itself by buying random stuff out of the web and go ahead with the payment? Grin

Despite she seams to have some issues with her mouth, she's quite a piece! It would be hard to decide if she ever runs against Yulia Timoshenko Grin

1249  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Necessity: The Argument of Tyrants on: March 20, 2014, 05:45:18 PM
But there are limits for what is legit or not for the government, or its armed branch, the police, to intervene or legislate about and the means to it. Without this notion we have governments even ruling on such a personal subject as masturbation.
The means of surveillance in the so called "preventive crime fight", are obnoxious as they intend to condemn people for something they didn't but probably think of. Someone can fantasize his entire life about rape someone, but as long as he never does it there should be no way to condemn him for "think about it".
In the end, and because obviously there can't be a totally free World, laws can only be designed for actions and actions that includes interaction with others, specially if those others are unwilling to participate. This is in fact not diminish freedom but rule over freedom collisions; the freedom to do a thing and the freedom to not want to do a thing.
1250  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Necessity: The Argument of Tyrants on: March 20, 2014, 02:09:06 AM
I believe Benjamin Franklin referred to individual freedom, not to be confused with State independence. Free men are well able to defend themselves.
Got the people scared out with terrorism, often hired by the "defender" itself, is a way to open the Pandora box. And after the first group of scared slaves other States hop in to take the profit of a scared mob. My country even has "terrorist laws" and "terrorist task forces", still we have no terrorism of any sort or any separatist movement, but they take the "terrorist scare crow" to spy on whatever they want for unknown purposes. It's an everything goes "for your security" kind of stinky "shaite"!

USSR was a democracy too, just too bad the opposition was sent in a one-way trip to Siberia before they can cast any vote.
Why are foreigners afraid of Siberia? I live in the Siberia!! It's not scary Cool

Afraid of Siberia?! Siberia has wonderful women and dogs. Just need some sun to become a paradise Grin

However you define Siberia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siberia), it stretches quite far South. Temperatures during summer can be as high as 27C (78F) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siberia#Climate) Smiley

Summer here can go as high as 45C Grin

1253  Local / Economia & Mercado / Anedota do ano: Chipre avisa contra a Bitcoin on: March 19, 2014, 03:23:08 PM
O Governo do Chipre, aquele que no ano passado se afiambrou ao dinheiro dos depositantes e os roubou à descarada, vem agora alertar para os perigos da Bitcoin:

http://cyprus-mail.com/2014/03/18/authorities-warn-over-use-of-bitcoin/

Acho que o único argumento que eles podem ter contra a BTC é que se quiserem voltar a gamar o povo à descarada não têm como o fazer.
Haja vergonha neste Mundo!

"People's will" isn't expressed during an armed invasion at a referendum without supervision and with ballots already filled up.

Three errors in once sentence. Speechless! Highlighted them for you. Now go and do some research, please.

Supervised by the Russian Army?  Tongue
Damn Soviets! Invite a bunch of fellows to play as observers and second the bullshit doesn't count.
Any referendum would need a campaign, a free campaign from both sides, public discussion, time for put the observers and prepare the operation. A referendum within 2 weeks with the Russian army around is a plain load of bullshit. Just a Soviet tactic to make it look like "the people's will".
1255  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Necessity: The Argument of Tyrants on: March 19, 2014, 03:12:33 PM
The argument of tyrants is "SECURITY". It works best and allows them to run over any civilian freedom without much contest.
At some point however people will need some security against those who are pretending to be looking after its security. In the end it all sum up to the words of Benjamin Franklin: "He who sacrifices freedom for security deserves neither."

Quoting RT (Russia Today) under a Canadian domain!  Grin

About enriching nuclear fuel, obviously if we can do it elsewhere and contaminate to death some foreigner soil, why not? "Foreigner investment" is a pain, just a 3rd World country like yours (or mine for that matters) wants it. But... the technology to do it is American, not Russian and we can also produce it.

For the notice, I couldn't care less about Crimea. It's just another invaded country with its population replaced with foreigners - the same foreigners that now cast the votes. Democracy... no wonder it failed flat at Ancient Greece! It's so easy to change its outcome, change the voters and get whatever results you want.

USSR was a democracy too, just too bad the opposition was sent in a one-way trip to Siberia before they can cast any vote. USA on the other hand is a pseudo-democracy, the chain of delegation makes sure the base vote won't count much for the final outcome.

EU doesn't depend on Russia to Nuclear Power, we have our own. The only pressure point from Russia is about gas not Uranium or Plutonium. And yes, alternative energies can't provide for industry, but nobody is talking about it.
1258  Economy / Economics / Re: My bank account's got robbed by European Commission. Over 700k is lost. on: March 19, 2014, 02:02:53 PM
Why people don't realize the most simple truth:

Your money -> bank -> not your money anymore!

Banks aren't to be trusted at any point at all! They don't take deposits as depositors money, they take it as "their own money".
1259  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Crimea on: March 19, 2014, 01:53:28 PM
This could be good news for people working around renewable energies.
With EU soon to isolate Russia again (hope Russians still remember how good life was back on late 80's at USSR, if not they will taste it again) the need for replacements of Russian gas will make EU to move towards alternative power sources.
