1261  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dead cat bounce, dreams shattered again. on: January 26, 2017, 05:56:19 PM
How many times have you seen a dead cat bounce, then get back up again? The cat has to be dead to get a dead cat bounce. Stock die, sometimes bonds die. But bitcoin does not need your money and does not die.

The best way is to not convert it back to Euros. Why pay to do that when you can spend the money directly? There are tens of thousands of outlets that take BTC. It is the only money I use online.
1263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is CHINA CONTROLLING Bitcoin? on: January 26, 2017, 05:48:16 PM
I don't where you heard that, but it's completely incorrect. China can not "freeze" your bitcoin. No entity on Earth can do that. Tell you what. I'll pay $100 in BTC to anyone who can freeze my coins or keep me from sending them. Not that you would have a clue about my coins. Any takers?

If I'm not mistaken, those who possess 51% of hashing power can easily reject your transaction as invalid, and thus you will get stuck with your measly 100 dollars. Obviously, no one is going to single out you specifically, but if this kind of attack is ever going to happen, you may well got hit by it. And then you will certainly regret your bravado...

Your vanity is the enemy of your dignity
Here is why I am so brave. It is simply not logical to launch a 51% attack. If a group of evil miners got together and launched a 51% attack they would hurt themselves more than anyone else. Speculator would greatly devalue the price. And rightly so. All the tens of thousands of dollars in hardware would be wasted if the price were low. All their own holdings in bitcoin would take a hit. And for what? They would not gain in any way. It makes zero sense.

But if someone wants to call my bluff then go ahead.  Smiley
1264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin to buy everyday needs? on: January 26, 2017, 05:41:06 PM
"brick and mortar" stores that take bitcoin are rare right now. The only way this will change is if they hear it from customers. Try asking at the places you shop. You may be surprised at how open small business is to accepting bitcoin. Especially when it is such a cheap thing to offer. If they are afraid of bitcoin because it is complex, show them payment processors like bitpay.com .
1265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is CHINA CONTROLLING Bitcoin? on: January 26, 2017, 05:33:22 PM
... So no one should be whining about someone else's success when they are in a fair contest with them.

... You can do something to get something.

Thank you for derailing this bitch-fest by injecting some sanity to the discussion.
That is the fact as no one is holding anyone from doing anything and anyone is free to enter or invest in bitcoin or bitcoin mining and now everyone is whining over china trying to control the entire market is just bullshit. They are the biggest investors and so they can influence the price .

China can also Freeze your BTC , where you can't use it. (51% attack Security issue)
(Just like a Bank can Freeze your checking account.)
   Tongue

 Cool

FYI:
The Fact, that China can deny you the Use of your BTC, sure seems like Control to me.

It's going to take a change in the law to see more of them here in the U.S. It requires a money transmitter license for each state you operate in.
1267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One of Bank's Services in Future Will be Keeping Private Keys for Customers on: January 21, 2017, 03:28:59 PM
I think you are totally correct. I would guess that they will also offer financial instruments that allow zero confirmation transactions and insured deposit.
1268  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Trolling on: January 21, 2017, 03:21:10 PM
Trolling ONLY works if you go along with it. Otherwise it can be your edge.  Wink
1269  Economy / Services / Re: [Translation Service] Mody1996 English-Arabic and Arabic-English Service on: January 21, 2017, 03:03:10 PM
I think it's a good idea. You are offering a service with no up front cost to you. If I ever need this service I will consider your offer.
And Google translate is certainly not 100% accurate. I travel quite a bit to the middle east and have the most success just learning Arabic and forgetting google.

1270  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Price Jumps on Trump Victory on: January 21, 2017, 02:32:32 PM
Americans tend to think that their news is important around the world and forget that bitcoin is global. It is used by people who don't know what a Trump is. Of course the instability that trump represents could cause more panic in the markets and push money into bitcoin. But I doubt many Chinese buyers think about it much.
1271  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOW TO MINE! TEACH ME on: January 21, 2017, 02:26:32 PM
It will be much harder than a question on an Internet board. First read the white paper. Then learn the math behind cryptography. Then learn about ASIC computer chips. Once you have the knowledge base you are ready to spend a whole bunch of money on equipment, electricity and possibly lawyers.
1272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happen "if" someone have all of bitcoin? on: January 21, 2017, 02:02:59 PM
The simplest answer to the big "if" is that bitcoin will loose all it's value.

But in reality someone having control over all the bitcoins is impossible
Correct. I, for example, would charge a billion dollars a piece for my coins.  And after having to spend...  Huh a trillion dollars buying all the coins on Earth he has nothing of value. This idea that someone will buy all the coins has been here since the beginning but has never made any logical sense. Bitcoin MUST be a collaborative project. It is a payment network and without a crowd it has no utility and mining collapses.

I would say it depends. Does your laptop look like this?  Cheesy

Sorry man, you are years too late to mine with a laptop.

I'm not looking to make a living, quite funny though. But im just looking for some extra momey, even $4 a day is plenty.
Sorry, I was being silly. But in all seriousness it would be hard to make any profit at this time with a normal computer. You could join a mining pool and combine your computing power with others, but you may just burn out your laptop for a few bucks. Literally a few bucks.

Having said that, it may be a good way to learn about bitcoin and that may be worth something. Check this calculator to get a sense of profits/costs.

1274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happen "if" someone have all of bitcoin? on: January 20, 2017, 03:27:28 PM
then it would mean nothing since nobody would accept beacuse only one guy can pay with it XD
But what if that someone was Hitler! Just kidding. I think you are right.  Cheesy
1275  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who controls the Bitcoins? on: January 20, 2017, 03:05:25 PM
It is so interesting to see how many people believe someone is "controlling" things. I guess it is the way humans tend to think. It reminds me of all our history. In the past no one could fathom that the weather was largely random and invented Gods to make sense of things. I suppose they wanted to feel like they had a sense of control. "Maybe if I pray hard to the god who controls the weather he will help?" In reality no one controls the weather.

Look at the tags on your clothing right now. Where were they made? Yeah, You are the reason the Chinese will dominate the next century. Not "them", you.

1278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do Bitcoins have Tax?? on: January 20, 2017, 02:30:38 PM
There are no tax on bitcoins as no one control the bitcoins there is no questions of tax. However small transaction fees will always required as it will be the only income for the service provider.
Nope. Almost every country in the world requires some kind of tax on bitcoin.

Yes, it requires tax yet tax come when you convert your bitcoin into your fiat and withdraw it, and I guess transaction fees is just a tax being paid by the service given to the server. But directly bitcoins has no taxes.

And I think it can vary a lot around the world. Here in the U.S. you owe capitol gains when you convert to fiat or when you spend bitcoin. And the fee is not a tax at all but rather a fee for service. Only nation states (and maybe warlords) can issue a tax.
1279  Economy / Economics / Re: The 2.5 million dollar Bitcoin on: January 19, 2017, 03:32:27 PM
U.S. dollars have little to do with bitcoin anymore.
