Thanks.
1287  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: new antminter s1 having issues on: May 14, 2014, 10:42:59 PM
I use a WAP to connect my ants to a wireless network without issues.  I've got 4 ants wired into a WAP and the WAP running wireless to my router.  I've also got 4 connected to a switch and the switch connected to a belkin WAP that has one plug.  This way the only thing you have to do is change the Ants to DHCP.
1288  Bitcoin / Hardware / Quick Question--Which is Quieter: Dragon or S2? on: May 14, 2014, 10:24:14 PM
Just wondering which is quieter.  I've got a dragon and wondered if the S2 was any quieter.

I'd do 3.8btc if we can get Canary or someone to escrow.

Looks like this guy took his coins and got of dodge... http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/18aBb4GfX3QCN64xaJ3W3EuNzHL92v2UU1
Im thinking the same thing soon.

I wonder where they went?

Maybe a catastrophic system failure?

Maybe just a connection issue to eligius.  I've got 3 out of 18 miners showing stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 as dead right now. The other 15 are just fine with that address.

Everything is back to alive.
1291  Economy / Goods / Re: silver bundle - close to spot! on: May 11, 2014, 06:44:15 PM
How bout 0.9BTC?

That's a fair offer. My top was .89 including shipping.
1292  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Help with a Dead S1 on: May 08, 2014, 01:09:21 PM
So here's the latest. Yanhua Qin has been corresponding via email with me.  Has offered to send board now for a .51btc deposit until they receive the bad board back.  Not quite what I'd say is reasonable, but it is at least an offered solution.

I've requested the RMA address and I think I'll just send the board back first as I've got other miners coming in Monday.  This is all assuming shipping doesn't cost more than it'd be worth to have a new board or just purchase a new miner.

I'll keep everyone posted.
1293  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Help with a Dead S1 on: May 07, 2014, 02:20:34 PM
try only powering the side with the ethernet  so only use 1 pcie hook up and pull the white ribbon that links to the second board.

If that works.  do the same with the ribbon attached. if that works then the board with no control card is the issue.

Thanks for the response.  So far it looks like the LAN card side power is the problem.  I can plug in the other blade and it doesn't blow the psu off.  But as soon as I would plug into the LAN side, it shuts off the power.  I never even get a LAN light, just instant trip.  At this point, I'm thinking I now have something to rob parts off of in the future.

try fully moving the lan/controller from the one board to the other.  it can be done.  if you are lucky you will have 1/2 a miner.

Yep.  Tried it this morning and now hashing at 1/2 speed.  I've received a response from Bitmain wanting me to narrow down the issue.  Pretty sure we've narrowed it down to a bad board.  I'll keep everyone posted here as to how well my warranty experience works with them.

I would try attaching a PC fan to the 5v molex line or connecting a hard drive/cd-rom drive to the psu.

Some power supplies need you to run something on the 5v power line before they will run right.

I had a similar problem, miner would run for a couple of minutes, then trigger the PSU safety off.

I'll give it a shot, but I'm using the corsair TX850 and CX500.  Neither ones have given issues with other units.
1296  Bitcoin / Hardware / Help with a Dead S1 on: May 06, 2014, 02:02:22 PM
I've got a week old S1 that has decided it doesn't want to turn on.  I've tried various psu.  They all kick off as soon as power is thrown.  I'm guessing there's a short?  Has anyone seen this issue and is there a resolution short of sending it back?

Thanks,
B.

Anyone run out some numbers yet what the insurance buyout might look like in a few months?  If btc keeps dropping, the insurance might be only only saving thing.

1299  Economy / Goods / 2008 Mustang Shelby GT Convertible -- 1 of only 192 LOW Mileage <2,300. on: April 30, 2014, 05:14:56 PM
Just for fun, I thought I'd post a link here to my baby Shelby GT.  I'd take BTC equivalent for it.

http://columbiamo.craigslist.org/cto/4429415595.html

Only 192 automatic convertibles were made of the baby shelby. 2008 was the first and last year of the baby shelby vert.  At today's exchange rates, it's only about 85 coins. Smiley

Only available for pickup.  Columbia, MO.

AntMiner S2 Coupon 400 USD   57   0   2014-04-28 00:00:00~2014-05-30 00:00:00
AntMiner S1 Coupon 0.05 BTC   48   9   2014-04-27 00:00:00~2014-05-29 00:00:00

UPDATE:  Just received 57 S2 Coupons!! Let me know if it can help you out!

I just received 48 of the .05btc coupons on my Bitmain account for future purchases of the AntMiner S1.  I doubt there's anyway I will be purchasing that many this coming month before they expire.  I'll be glad to help folks out with about 20 of them.  Although I know no good deed goes unpunished. Smiley

Here's kind of what I was thinking...if there's a better way, just let me know:

You PM me with the quantity and shipping info, I load the info in my cart on Bitmain.  I make sure you and I have agreed to some time frame we are both online and I send you a screen shot of the checkout with where you need to send the payment.

This may not be worth the $20 you would save or the headaches on both our ends, but I don't do a whole lot for the community so if this helps some people it's a good thing.

B.
