I would like to believe hdbuck 's scenario rather than think insider info has board members running for the exit. Of course I have high hopes for AM to succeed, and I am growing weary of the wait...for...anything...

It is golden week in China iirc and everyone is on holiday. We aren't going to get any news this week. Annual meeting and financial report was at the end of October last year, was it not? I guess we won't hear anything until then, no? I hate this.
1362  Economy / Speculation / Re: Theory: Exchanges are destroying the price of Bitcoin for personal profit on: October 01, 2014, 04:42:21 AM
Seems to me manipulation will occur in any market where it is able. Where is this often mentioned decentralized exchange? I'm not even sure if I understand how it would work, I'm guessing it will be done with coloured coins or something like ripple.
I think everyone honest would like to have access to a transparent, provably  fair exchange that broadcast the actual market value. I'd use it. The manipulators would hate it. Lol

I'm surprised I can't find anything like that yet. Like I said; ripple and coloured coins, but good luck getting average consumer to be able to Fathom it. Basically the best UI I can figure out is: red button green button and a cash register wav.
I don't like localbitcoin. I don't ever want to leave the house or talk to real live strangers.

Kind of looks prerendered to me than actual but could be wrong just going by appearance

Got the same feeling looking at the pictures.

+1 agreed. too much "noise" around the lettering. the graphic on the end of the containers is not on the one on the crane. not an expert on photoshopping but this pic looks shooped to me.

I tried this after a particularly nasty bout of diahrrea and as soon as I figured out you just punk' me I almost dropped my burrito! Thanks a lot!

I like the "five years later the cops start working on it" lol. Lazy cops.

1369  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: labcoin lawsuit on: September 25, 2014, 10:12:21 PM

I was excited about bitcoin bounty hunter at first, but it seems that finding alberto is not the problem, it is bringing him to justice. You must prove wrongdoing, complain to authorities and when they find the culprit they charge him with applicable offences.

everyone is tight lipped as to what is going on right now, but from the sounds of it the walls are closing in on alberto.

my guess is the money is long gone, we wont see restitution, but alberto will be put in jail. At least. I hope.
1370  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: September 25, 2014, 10:05:21 PM
ok- understood.
I am already part of the lawsuit. It will be good to hear what is going on when it is safe to tell, Alberto cant be that hard to find. I'm hoping for good news in the future.
1371  Economy / Securities / Re: [LABCOIN] IPO [BTCT.CO] - Details/FAQ and Discussion (ASIC dev/sales/mining) on: September 25, 2014, 07:43:58 AM
Guys... im part of LCSH, the group of users that decided to go after the scammer. Believe virtuals that some good news are there, though dont be too happy yet until a good ending happened. Lets say there is some hope. I guess you might wait some weeks since i believe in some weeks there might be already an update available.

slow process I understand. Im not EU HK or US either. what exactly will the charges be even? as far as i know sebastian ju is the only guy who has spoken to the italians. wasnt there a lawyer involved? what charges were recommended? Its one thing to rip people off with some hair-brained scheme and let it fall to the ground and go "oops! I / the BTC   Roll Eyes Tongue Shocked" It is another thing to prove fraud. what kind of evidence beside missing btc is there? Dont get me wrong, I lost big here too, I know I got ripped off, but I am unsure how we prove they intentionally set out to bamboozle us? Is what they did catagorized more as mail fraud?

what Im asking is; what is motivating the cops to action? what are they going to do if they catch him?

ALSO - They are saying this guy is alberto over in this other thread here --> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=793636.msg8941036#msg8941036

is there any truth to this or are they just joking about how obvious a scam it is?
1372  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What you bought with bitcoin PICS please. on: September 24, 2014, 06:49:37 AM

it was pretty good but i paid about 500$ for two eggs benny at todays exchange rate.

I notice nobody seems to have any OC pictures (I got mine from google image search)
1373  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I'm on BFL's Side on: September 24, 2014, 06:39:59 AM
lol

I actually did ok with my year late arriving purchase from them too, believe it or not. paid in fiat waited forever got miner running just in time to make enough btc to exploit the bubble last winter just doubling my investment. made a little over 2 more btc before shutting down. Thing is, I'm NOT on BFL's side. I am of the belief that the sucess of the individual is the sucess of the group, and just because I lucked out by fluke of good timing, there are too many members of this community who were puit into dire straits thanks to the shabby way bfl did business. Anarchy means responsability in my world, if you cant do that you only invite the nanny state to do it for you.
1374  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: September 24, 2014, 06:29:06 AM
Now for the painful truth...no matter who you buy from none of it makes you a profit.  Buying any mining gear at retail prices even with free power you lose.

And there's still guys panning for gold in the Yukon. Greed will never die.
1375  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: U.S. court halts bitcoin mining operation Butterfly Labs - FTC on: September 23, 2014, 09:59:28 PM
I'd love a report from the hearing.

Also, from BFL's statements, it sounds like they are TRYING to get all of the Bitcoin community to line up behind them and help them out, claiming it's an attack on Bitcoin.  But it's not, it's just an attack on a scam company.

Do you have a link to josh statement? I need to hear what that weasel comes up with. Usually beyond belief (quite literally)

EDIT- please stop saying that they will go to jail in two weeks. The logic of the joke is that two weeks equals much longer, possibly forever, so it should be "bfl josh is going to jail FOR two weeks"

Thank you
1376  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if the spike is Sonny and Josh hiding their dollars? on: September 23, 2014, 09:51:49 PM
I'm sure they have been expecting this day and already have their tumbled coins stashed where no one will ever find. I want to see bfl josh hand the court one twenty five cent piece when they order him to pay up. Lawl!!!
1377  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: U.S. court halts bitcoin mining operation Butterfly Labs - FTC on: September 23, 2014, 09:32:26 PM
Meh.

They get their doors padlocked, accounts frozen, fined, ordered to make restitution. They will declare bankruptcy, the coins are already hidden, there's nothing to take! The bfl team does a few months of white collar time at club fed. Disappear to Belize with millions in btc intact. Pretty good for a few months cushy jail time.

God bless America!
1378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is the government going to copy bitcoin and leave us high and dry ? on: September 23, 2014, 09:27:05 PM
is there this possibility that bitcoin is bought out this other guy seems to think so. I personally will stand and fight as a bitcoin soldier if i have to in order to protect this decentralized freedom from the wealthy 1%

ya im a Jr member aka newb w a title but
I personally stand to protect bitcoin from corruption, and destruction
who's with me...

Nope. They will just tax it and regulate it (like they are already doing)

A copy won't work, a pre-mine won't work. Buying all the btc is preposterous. Just ride on its back and leech as much as you can is what the government knows best. Polatics; poli means "the people" and tics is a parasite.
1379  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: September 22, 2014, 08:09:43 PM
Over at the hardware thread it's like you can hear the applause and champaign popping.

You are wrong Smiley

It was early after the announcement. Of course it only took a few hours for all the whiners and cassandras to come out and play. This is a good miner, better than the competition. Anyway, I'm going to interpret prisms as great news so phooey on you!
1380  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: September 22, 2014, 10:34:09 AM
If FC can keep pulling rabbits out of his hat like this prisma my investor confidence is no threat. If I were the competition I would feel the threat. I'd be very soon out of work! Kill it!
I'm not even worried. Anticipating divs not even so much. It impresses me the prisma's power efficiency. Over at the hardware thread it's like you can hear the applause and champaign popping.
