Just like what The Pharmacist have said, this topic has been discussed before but still, I do really like the idea. It would be much better to show the Trust ratings of every users in every guest and I can't see any disadvantage but the thing is, I think this idea will only be added to those pending ideas that will be implemented soon. There are already a lot of suggestions and ideas that were generated by our fellow members and I don't think so that theymos can apply it as soon as possible. It could take months I guess.
About the scamming side, either the Trust ratings were shown to guest or not, if you won't use your brain then there's no doubt that you'll get scammed over and over again. Sometimes being wise is enough to avoid scammers. Write this down.

About your question. Yes, if you keep posting low quality posts then there's no doubt that you end up banned soon so you better expect it. Just like those posts in your posts history, I can call those "low quality".

The Fit to Talk project is a really good initiative and like theymos mentioned in a post about courses and educating, it's contributing and let the one's who want to learn, learn, ignore the other's.
That's true. And Sir Jets even spending money to pay for the domain and host of the website just for those members who really wanted to learn. But the problem is some members still can't find it helpful as they were focusing to earn. I'm getting desperate to fix my local board problems, there is only ~5 members who're actively fighting the spam, compared to 300 members who keep spamming every day, cheating bounties and etc. Unless they got red trust (read: can't get money using their account) they won't learn and don't care with the rules.
I feel you Man. The same feeling I always felt when visiting my local board. There are also several members in my local board who were fighting against massive amount of spammers. One main problem is we don't have any support from our Mods (but not so sure if Mods already had taken any actions, it's been days since I became inactive and I don't have any idea about what's happening. I'll take a visit soon). Hopefully, you won't stop doing what you've done, we need more members like you.

Are you trying to give us advice? Because actually we already knew that and also buying or selling accounts are not encouraged by the forum rules. If you were trying to give advice then it's not necessary, you should save it for yourself bud or tell it to your friend. But if you posted here to complain about your friend that has been scammed by an account seller then there's nothing we can do about it. We all knew that buying an account is discouraged and may be against the rules but your friend still tried it so it’s his/her fault.
The good thing is, your friend finally learned a lesson.

OP mentioned that his/her account were banned back in September 2-3, even if we assume that the account were banned back in September 4 then the account should be already unbanned now. Anyway, there's nothing you can do but to wait OP. Maybe the duration of ban is based on the forum's date. If you're still banned tomorrow then it's a permanent ban I assume  |

You've been putting so much efforts since from the start for these projects that will help new members and that's great. Actually I admire you Sir Jets for doing such things as I really wanted to do the same. But if these Members won't see the importance of those projects then it will only be a waste of time. I believed that some of the new members registering here really wants to learn about cryptocurrency world, yeah I still believe in that. But because of these twitbook spammer, they are influencing new members and encouraging them to be one of twitbook spammer. It's also because of greediness, all they think is EARN EARN EARN and EARN. Actually if we will just conduct a survey and ask these spammers "What is the main purpose of this forum", the answer we'll surely get is "to earn". It means they also didn't even know the importance of this forum. This also happens even in our local board. Seems like more members are more interesting in shit topics than those educative one and helpful one. Oh by the way Sir Jets, I'm sorry for being inactive in Fittotalk. I'm getting busier and busier each day IRL and can't spend a lot of time even here in Bitcointalk. Whew, hoping to graduate soon  |

Actually it's up to the user whether they want to wear an avatar or not. We can't force them to use one and some members doesn't want to be recognised. But of course, luckily other members are already recognised by their avatar. I am so ugly that it will freeze your browser....
Are you talking about your face in real life? If yes, well its not really necessary to put your face as your avatar just to be recognised. Don't worry, I'm ugly as well  |

I would rather see Newbies having hard time to rank up to Jr. Member with a requirement of 1 Merit or more to become Jr. Member than to implement this kind of idea. Your idea will somehow be beneficial but not too necessary. Also, uploading an image with just a size of kilobytes doesn't take a lot of time to do that's why there's no much problem about it that we should focus on. There are lot of pain in the ass that we should prioritised than this and Admin is not even giving any actions yet to spammers which is the main problem now, so how can he spend some time for this? Just my opinion.

To archive a post/thread/page  1. just go to Archive.fo then copy the link of the page that you're going to archive and 2. paste it in the textbox then 3. click "save the page". Why do you need to archive it anyway? I'm just asking for the link of that thread. So you already know how to archive a post maybe you can share the link now?  |

how he never received a merit, and he has 550 merits? A bug perhaps? That's weird! Actually s/he received Merit (50 Merits) just like what LoyceV's merit history data shows and I can tell that it's not a bug. The Merit history didn't show anything because it only shows the history of Merit within the last 120 days. What LoyceV means is, the user didn't received those 50 Merits for Quality post. Maybe a mod or an admin can check what the post was.
No need, I think there's nothing too important in that post or it's just a spam and it will only waste our Moderator's time to figure out what that post content is. |
