141  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲 StarBets.io 🎲 || A Crypto-based iGaming Platform 🎲 on: August 04, 2022, 10:45:52 AM
I'm glad you added more deposit options but when are you going to add USDT or other stable coins?

I am sorry, I cannot give you exact ETA. But, we will announce one we started working on it.
'once we started working on it' doesn't sound good but I like what you said here:

~ And many other layout changes to get us ready to scale with new tokens and other cool features.
It's just my speculation but you'll probably get more players/gamblers once you add USDT.

~
Please don't misunderstand the system. We didn't add multiple chains for a single token/Coin yet. Right now, we only support native chains. TRC-20 for Tron (TRX) and BEP-20 For Binance Coin(BNB).
What I mean is that adding USDT TRC-20 and BEP-20 should be a lot easier now since you already support those blockchains.

Questions about Star token distribution:

The supply is 10 billion and 50% of which will be mined by users according to the whitepaper. When will the team distribute the rest? I'm particularly interested in the dev share of 15%. I'm also curious about the marketing share of 10%. Do you plan on sharing these tokens to some influencers (if they're not given out yet)?

142  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🧿🧿🧿 YAS.BET Online Sports, Live Casino, Poker, Games, Crash, Betting 🧿🧿🧿 on: August 04, 2022, 06:48:59 AM
I was planning to join the review campaign and tried the registration process through the short sign up link:

Code:
https://free-gift.fun/register/?lang=en

It was successful and when I clicked 'Login to site', this new website popped up:

Code:
https://www.yasvip-1d1.click/#/?lang=eng

I encountered a problem when checking the deposit page to know what crypto they support. Apparently, you are not allowed to change currency and that's problematic for users like me who initially selected fiat as default. The solution provided by their support is to create another account and use a different currency.

I think the current process is still a bit messy starting with the different websites created to accommodate users who prefer to remain private/anonymous.
143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saylor steps down as Microstrategy CEO on: August 04, 2022, 02:48:49 AM
I'm not familiar with their organizational chart but is he also the company's fist ever Executive Chairman? I get the feeling that the title was just created to save his face. Whatever the case, I share @OgNasty's view on this. They have become more identified as a company that buys and holds bitcoins than a leading software company. I guess we should expect MS to slow down on btc acquisition after this.
144  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲 StarBets.io 🎲 || A Crypto-based iGaming Platform 🎲 on: August 03, 2022, 09:33:08 AM
I registered a few minutes ago and already started playing Dice with a $7 worth of BNB. Let's see how many tokens I could mine with it Grin

I'm glad you added more deposit options but when are you going to add USDT or other stable coins? It seems to be the most preferred choice for betting today. Since you already support TRC-20 and BEP-20, users won't have to worry about transaction fees when transferring to their account.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how much would someone need in Crypto this bear run to become a millionaire? on: August 03, 2022, 08:48:21 AM
~ I’m afraid you would still need like $50k or more to make that kind of money and I do not make enough money to hit that goal within the year...but I’m hopeful maybe $10k could make at least six figures as that seems more realistic for many people here.
Let's use BNB for as an example to be specific.

Current Price: $288
Potential growth in the next cycle: 10X or $2,880 (assumption only)

^ You'll end up with $100K if you buy BNB now with $10K capital and hold for the next two to three years ($500K with $50K capital). It's not a bad number if you want to bet with lower risk assets.

You can choose other coins/tokens lower than BNB but still with a decent marketcap and a healthy ecosystem. If you want, you can slowly accumulate and then let it sit in your wallets or let them grow in staking platforms like mycointainer.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you keep track of your portfolio stats? on: August 03, 2022, 08:27:08 AM
^ Yeah CMC is one of those apps available.

I used to monitor using Blockfolio before it was purchased by FTX exchange. It pretty has much everything with a slick design. If you prefer web-based dashboard instead of mobile apps, there's also cryptocompare. Just a reminder that the convenience you're searching for comes with risks especially if you're going to connect your exchange accounts.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Warning] Ongoing Solana Ecosystem Vulnerabilities on: August 03, 2022, 08:03:39 AM
I neither use the network nor follow updates on Solana but every time I see posts about them, it's almost always about hacking indcidents. How many attacks has it been since it was launched? RIP to the affected wallets. Hopefully, none of them commit something horrible/tragic for losing their funds.

EDIT 5: ETH maxis, let's not forget your $190m Nomad hack yesterday Smiley
It looks like they have a lot of time in their hands to engage in some network trash talks.

~
I don't think attackers would have gained millions from airdrop hunters.
I wouldn't underestimate the value of tokens/coins held by airdrop hunters because some of them use their main wallet for these purposes or just don't have other accounts.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC Charges 11 People in Alleged $300 Million Crypto Ponzi Scheme on: August 02, 2022, 01:41:18 AM
~ My question. Can the SEC go ahead to investigate and charge the folks who are playing several roles in creating and promoting this fraudulent crypto-focused pyramid scheme now before it crashes?
Try reporting them to SEC with links to their website and social media pages. Show them how they operate and see what happens next. I've done the same thing before and they were quick enough to post a memo warning people not to invest in that ponzi group I reported. I'm just not sure if they were able to apprehend the main people behind the scheme and their promoters.

About your friend, I would probably tell him directly that it's a ponzi scheme and explain why. He might react in a negative way but he'll stop inviting you. That could affect your friendship though Grin
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Papa John's store that made the Bitcoin pizzas in 2010 now has a plaque on: August 02, 2022, 01:23:34 AM
Pretty cool! If I were to add something in the plaque, that would be the BTC10000.
150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the most trusted stable coin currently (in your opinion)? on: August 01, 2022, 01:58:28 AM
Maybe it's just me but topics on stable coins comparison is becoming frequent lately and it's getting old. I don't know if it's being recycled intentionally or not. This topic for example https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5407643.0 has four pages of discussions already. It pays to read similar threads and learn from them. If you have further queries AND it's not talked about yet, then ask.

Anyway, here's another good read about the risks of using USDT, USDC, BUSD, and other centralized stable coins
[UPDATED] PSA: Most Stablecoins Can Be Frozen, Even in Your Own Wallets
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good and adequate staking platforms on: July 31, 2022, 01:28:35 AM
Check out mycointainer.com. They offer some decent rates like the 10% yearly return on stable coins USDT, USDC, and DAI (list of assets here). You can also try their cold-staking and delegate your coins on their nodes. Some fairly popular coins like AVAX, CTSI, MATIC, and PIVX are available there.

More information you might need:

~ Exchanges as staking platforms have shown themselves to be the worst, constantly changing even the fixed staking rates. Convinced by my own experience.
Isn't this true to all staking platforms? Rates are only fixed for a particular period and changes when circumstances require them to do so.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is helping to eradicate poverty in poor countries on: July 30, 2022, 03:31:36 AM
~ Once educated people will embrace crypto with open arms.
What most people embrace is the opportunity to make money from cryptocurrency investments and not really its actual usage. Once they're invested, that also doesn't guarantee they can get out of poverty. In fact, their situation could even get worse because of the market's high volatility and let's not forget various scams/hacks.
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not your key not your coin, your bitcoins on exchanges are not insured on: July 30, 2022, 02:30:01 AM
~
But the issues I have with decentralized wallet is that most of them are not flexible. You might not be able to exchange your Bitcoin to another coin that doesn't use the same blockchain with the wallet. But centralized wallets gives you to a large extent a larger options and flexibility to use your Bitcoin as you will.
That's not really a serious problem. Since Bitcoin transaction fees are already manageable, you can send BTC to exchanges for trading at 1 sats per vbyte (less than $1). You can withdraw and store them on hardware wallets Trezor and Ledger because they support multiple blockchains. I've read that you can also connect these HW to some Dapps but I'm not familiar with that.

Non-custodial wallets with swap features are also available.
154  Economy / Economics / Re: (over)population - doomsters vs boomsters on: July 29, 2022, 06:10:00 AM
When I heard about the 'human ingenuity will always save the day' in the video (7:05), I was reminded of the US Dust Bowl in the 1930s. How's the recovery going? CMIIW but it's been decades since the incident and I'm yet to read that our current tech could replenish all the top soils that were blown away. The population also ballooned since then replacing old smart heads. Are these genius boomers still depending on the earth's healing process?
155  Economy / Economics / Re: New scenario for cryptocurrencies next semester on: July 29, 2022, 04:41:01 AM
What is your current view on IEO investments for the next quarter?
How you view investments on projects that started initial offerings on exchanges is a case to case basis. The trend seems to be an important factor for investors these days (e.g. gamefi).

the points you take into consideration when investing in this type of release?
Aside from the usual team and type of project, the exchange where it will be held also matters. IEOs on some ordinary exchange pales in comparison to the ones done in Binance. There have been many claims also that smaller exchanges fakes the volume to make it appear it was a success.

What are its perks and benefits?
What else than the potential of taking a huge profit? At least temporarily.

Just look at what's happening with the P2E Game token called crypto legion bloodstone (BLST). I don't know what's really going on with this project but it's pumping crazy. I read the initial price is at $0.60, price apparently dropped to low $0.179 before pumping to over $15.
156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 28, 2022, 06:14:51 AM
~ Maybe nobody else will be able to put together a decent package.
It's probably their strategy to push other teams and see how far they would go for Durant. Since there are still 3 years remaining for his contract, I don't think they are in a hurry to let go of him. They can still drag this until the end of next season to get the best package.

~
Maybe his veteran experience might help these young and talented players of the Warriors and knowing how dominant he is when he is in his prime, he will teach all of these to these players.
GSW has enough veterans in their roster for these youngsters to learn from. Maybe it's Carmelo who needs to learn from the younger Wiggins/Poole on how to perform at the big stage Grin

158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BUSD or USDT? Which stablecoin is safer? on: July 28, 2022, 02:04:31 AM

Why ask by the way? Are you planning to convert your asset to either BUSD or USDT in this bear market? If that's your plan, consider staking them on platforms like mycointainer.com You'll have a nice 10% annual return while your token is on long-term storage. As always, DYOR.
Holding assets in stablecoins already brings some risk to our assets and it would be even more dangerous to place it on centralized lending platforms. We've seen a bunch of lending platforms crash in a short amount of time, so I don't think this is the right time to stake.
Staking is not bad but it is better to limit at the moment.
I get your point. Using stable coins is not without risk. Currency devaluation like what happened to UST is always there and it also applies to fiat currency (Bolivar). If staking in a completely centralized manner is not an option at the moment, there are also other methods like mycointainer's cold staking that's available. They don't offer USDT/BUSD for that but you can delegate other coins like AVAX and MATIC. You can also try adding to the liquidity pool (farming) on some decent DEX that still have stable coin pairings.

Non-appealable, sabi din, to protect the integrity of their procedures, they will not be able to provide a thorough explanation of the reason my account is closed. They just said to refer to their ToS.

160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BUSD or USDT? Which stablecoin is safer? on: July 27, 2022, 08:50:45 AM

but I'm afraid that Binance has so huge influence on the market that if it makes mistake, BUSD may get fucked.
Using the same logic, USDT may get screwed if Tether makes an even bigger mistake than what already happened to them. It's the same case with the issuers of USDC (Circle) or any other centralized stable coin.

USDT seems to be the safest, am I right? What are the possibilities that USDT may end up like TerraUSD?
When we're talking about the peg to $1, it probably won't lose like UST but the same can be said with BUSD and USDC. All mentioned stable coins have asset backings that are periodically reviewed and reported.

Why ask by the way? Are you planning to convert your asset to either BUSD or USDT in this bear market? If that's your plan, consider staking them on platforms like mycointainer.com You'll have a nice 10% annual return while your token is on long-term storage. As always, DYOR.
