It's true, the Dash Mod Basilpop (Macrochip here) amply demonstrated through his posts he believes the rules of the Dash sub (old and new rules BTW) don't apply to him.

You are treating demo differently than Basilpop, who has posted 100 times more "full troll" posts than demo WHILE WEARING A DASH MOD HAT AND BEING PAID $300/MONTH BY THE TREASURY.

Bump with the latest DashSpam.  These consecutive price speculation/network play-by-play posts take up way too much space for an ANN thread.

How many screencaps of coinmarketcap do we really need clogging up ANN threads?  This stuff isn't allowed in, for example, the Monero ANN thread because the community rigorously scrubs it clean from such trash posts and keeps the CMC tradingview etc screencaps isolated in the Speculation ghetto, where they belong.  The Dash community should step up or have their thread locked for much the same reasons as the Gold Collapsing and Wall Observer thead were, IE being sorely neglected wastelands of off-topic and/or low quality garbage.

This is amazing if it actually works.  I have to laugh at how much faster PIVX development is proceeding compared to the old Dash crew still struggling to get HD wallets enabled and InstandSend to work with PrivateSend.

Now that Amanda Johnson, Ben Swann, and Luke Rudowski are no longer being paid to be Dash shills, perhaps you can get them to report on (IE demonstrate on their podcasts) this cool new zDEX thingy!

Now that you have been reminded that Dash used to "love" CSW, please elaborate on why you suddenly find Basilpop and DesertLynx's very high opinions of Craig Wright's intellect and crypto expertise to now be deficient.

Was Craig realizing and tweeting that Dash Masternodes (and "shares") are unregistered securities all that it took to make you turn on a dime and instantly flip to being vehemently anti-Craig?

What does it say about the integrity and logical consistency of the Dash community when it displays a trend of fawning over crypto experts like Peter Todd and Greg Maxwell, only to then demonize them the second they say anything bad about Dash, no matter how technically and objectively factually correct what they say is?

That strongly implies Dash is an insecure delicate snowflake community that can't handle even the mildest criticism from even the most well qualified experts.

Hence, Dash does not have Skepticism Sundays like many other (more mature) crypto communities that followed the good example set by /r/monero and /r/cc.

Plus there is Qwizzie, the guy who made but randomly(?) locked the main Dash speculation thread, then made 100s of huge-graphic-laden WhenMoon/LamboSoon price movement garbage posts on the ANN.

Even a cursory examination of the Dash ANN signal/noise ratio shows it's a wasteland of DashSpam, price speculation, chatter, and very few substantive/on-topic posts.

There is so much trash in that thread it's by far the longest one in the Alt ANN sub.  The Dash people enjoy the increased post count as they intentionally use forum-sliding to dilute/obscure criticism.

The usual remedy of individually marking bad posts for mod review/deletion is not a good fit for such a massive, long-neglected problem area.

Trying to make and then keep the Dash ANN thread spam/speculation/ free using the Report function would be like trying to clean up a Superfund site with a toothbrush.

When our "beloved" Gold Collapsing and Wall Observer threads became sewers of turd-posts, it was decided to move/lock them (util someone stepped up to be Wall O janitor).  The same should be done for Dash's ANN.

Rewards.com is sketchy as hell.  Do you really want them to know everything about your digital profile and spending habits, just for a few tiny bits of a Dash coin?

This is a privacy-hostile, intrusive, scumbag company.  They will have a great time working with the blockchain analysis company Dash Core is also paying.  What what their name, Coinfirm or something?

You are confused and unclear about what @ProfFauxtus actually said in his tweets, so I will clarify and explain the situation.

Craig didn't say Dash is a security, he said "shares" of Dash masternodes are (dangerous, unregistered, and illegal) securities.

Let's break it down so that you may understand more easily.  There are six (6) different concepts to examine independently and within the context of the Dash project in general.

1. DASH.  Dash is a crypto-coin in the context of the Dash protocol, but has been intentionally burdened with additional properties, which in financial/regulatory contexts make it what CNW correctly identified as "sub-units" of Masternodes and shadowy entities known as THE DASH FOUNDATION and THE DARKCOIN FOUNDATION INC. DBA EVAN DUFFIELD.

2. Masternodes.  You put 1000 Dash (~$300,000 USD) into a cryptographic bond proving to the network they are locked up.  That gets you interest payments and the right to one (1) vote on where to invest the Dash Treasury each month.  Masternodes are obviously a financial product of some kind, and were for years marketed as such (without the legally required risk, etc. disclosures) to unsophisticated non-qualified retail investors.

3. Masternode shares.  If you cannot afford Dash's extravagantly prohibitive cost to run a full node but still wish to enjoy the high interest rates for Masternode investment, you will be offered (by a few entities closely affiliated with Dash Core) so-called "shares" in Masternodes.  These are not really "shares" in any company or any actual Thing, which is among the reasons why Craig Wright took to twitter to call fraud on Dash's menagerie of multifarious fraud.

3. MNOs (Masternode owners).  MNOs control monthly allocation of the substantial Dash Treasury and are tasked with investing it wisely, following up on previous investments, and building out Dash's distributed governance structures.  Crucially (for legal purposes), even if MNOs don't vote or otherwise contribute/participate they still enjoy the exact same mathematical probability of getting Masternode payments as MNOs who do vote and otherwise participate.  This is the "expectation of profit as the result of the efforts of others" the SEC's Howey Test is looking for.  It is unknown what if any repercussions MNOs would incur should they vote for a proposal that entails illegal activity, such as funding doxxing/harassment of Dash critics or even assassination of Dash's political opponents.  Crypto-lawyer Jason Siebert stated on his Youtube podcast that MNOs are also subject to subpeona for breaking KYC/AML/anti-terrorism laws.

4. Dash Treasury.  Just as a corporation may (in certain very precisely defined circumstances and under very strictly legally-controlled conditions) print up more shares to raise capital at the expense of diluting existing holders, so does Dash print up over 6000 new coins every month.  These 6000+ coins are mostly sold for cash to fund the DAO's various investments, but this dilution and resultant sell pressure is accepted by MNOs because the indirect return on the DAO's investment of Treasury funds is presumed to be greater than the direct cost of the dilution/selling.  In terms of regulatory attack surface, the Dash Treasury is functionally equivalent to any other sloppy/careless investment fund and any other broke/greedy company holding an ongoing monthly stock issuance.  Unlike traditionally centralized organizations however, 100% of regulatory and other forms of liability pass directly onto DAO members (IE MNOs) because there is no traditional fictitious legal entity to absorb and thereby limit liability.

5. DCG (Dash Core Group).  Dash Core is the direct beneficiary of the bulk of monthly investments made by the Dash Treasury, as directed by the MNOs who bother to vote.  In terms of the Howey Test, DCG represents the most salient example of a third party making promotional and development efforts on behalf of MNOs' and Masternode "share" holders' profits.

6. The DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization).  This is the sum collective of items 1-5.  It's a lame attempt to appropriate cyberpunk fiction and even more lame attempt to evade legal accountability by supposedly having nobody actually be responsible or liable for anything.  The fiction of the DAO's ostensible decentralization is obviously a convenient yet implausible lie, given Dash HQ is located in Phoenix and the DCG located there is voraciously consuming >50% of the Dash Treasury (while at the same time, suddenly imposing arbitrary limits on other projects so they cannot compete for the dwindling funds remaining).

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day...  



Maybe Dash should have spent more on lawyers and less than $300,000/month on fantasy sports boondoggles?  

The market is pricing in what's about to happen, which is a tidal wave of devastating news about regulatory crackdowns and the "lion's share" of Dash's over-budget treasury being claimed by Dash Core (despite having nothing positive/concrete to show for their years of PR and Evolution development efforts).

Going by the SEC Chairman's recent statements and latest Fauxtoshi tweets, Dash Masternodes, Masternode shares, and VCOs tokens may be moments (days? weeks?) away from being declared unlicensed securities, under both US and UK law.

The Masternode shares and KuvaCash VCO were probably the last straws for the SEC and UK equivalent (HRM's Ye Merrie Olde SEC).

The SEC could put up with the HYIP and money laundering/services aspect of Masternodes, but Masternode "shares" and the MNOs voting themselves KuvaTokens cross two very bright red lines.

Craig Wright isn't my favorite person, but unlike Peter Rizun and Emin Goon Sirer at least he finally got ONE SINGLE THING 100% correct.  

I suspect Dash Classic may launch when Evolution is ready.  That will probably take another year or two.

Poloniex got itself into trouble by listing unregistered securities and outright scams like jl777hodl, MAID, and Dash.

Their only way out was to make nice with Goldman, so the Goldman-captured courts and regulators would grant them indulgences for previous sins and declare everything kosher.

Going forward, Polo will have the resources to support fulfillment of their fiduciary duties (which includes distributing to users their Calisto airdrops) and will have the deep pockets to sue if they fail in those duties.

I did lose a few BTC shorting Maid a couple years ago, but I'm not "still angry" about it.  That's just part of the game; no risk, no reward.  I'd be as immature as your post if I persisted in being butthurt about that.

You should not call me a liar just to deflect from my reporting of a first hand, real world experience simply because you find it offensive and unpleasant.

For context, my dinner with the top-tier Rust developer/researcher was completely coincidental and occurred purely by chance.  He had no idea who I am and was (likewise) surprised I even knew the "very obscure" (his words) Maid project existed.

I approached the subject of Maid tactfully in case he was a supporter, but it turned out that we two dissimilar experts evaluating Maid from completely different backgrounds and areas of expertise still shared the common ground of concluding Maid is an embarrassment to much of the Rust community, Maid is not feasible, and Maid devs (should) probably know that but are happy to get a job.

When I told him Maid was pivoting to Dash-like marketing emphasizing hype over technology, he laughed and said he wasn't surprised.  We then went on to have a fascinating discussion about functional languages, because unlike you I very much appreciate being in the company of domain experts and seek to glean every bit of new information possible from them (rather than fling poo at them because they dispute my cherished assumptions).
