Cry  I have also been heavily invested in XMR, until the dev's started supporting trolling of the entire cryptosphere, now my XMR holdings are quite small.  Cry

Icebreaker is so dedicated. He seems to find dash very valuable and attracts his attention daily.

"If you see fraud and do not say fraud, you are a fraud." -Nassim Nicholas Taleb

Ron Paul is so dedicated. He seems to find The Federal Reserve very valuable and attracts his attention daily.

Julian Assange is so dedicated. He seems to find Hillary Clinton very valuable and attracts his attention daily.

Thanks for the compliment.

But it's not *my* attention Dash should be worried about.

Dash is attracting the attention of the Dutch government and The Basel Institute on Governance, specifically with regards to its Masternodes' ability to mix/tumble coins (IE, launder money).

But we're not allowed to discuss this news on /r/Dashpay.  Typical cult tactics, don't let the brainwashed victims hear any news contradicting Dear Leader's narrative....  Roll Eyes

The Evan's Gate cult is hilarious.  First they screech knee-jerk denials that the new anti-mixing/tumbling laws apply to Masternodes, then try changing the subject to other coins, and finally just run over the inconvenient facts using their pet mod's sensor ship.

The streets are paved with pure comedy over in Dashland these days.  If only responses were allowed in Minotaur's locked pseudo-update threads, we'd see absolutely epic herds of stampeding lolcows....

Wow, no wonder the DashHoles wanted to shut this guy up.  He's spitting pure fire:

Evan Duffield already succumb to the pressures of Europol when he found out that Darkcoin was named in a report published by them and decided to change the name because of that.

I know somebody who has proof as to that being the main reason the project was re-branded.

There was no pressure in this instance either only a name in a report, yet Evan felt the need to change the name. What will happen if Europol calls up their USA buddies and says, "hey, this project here has mixing at protocol level, you should probably apply pressure to these developers living in AZ and working out of ASU's Sky Park Buildings." What happens when ASU is contacted by the Agencies in USA and told they can no longer rent space to the Dash project because the developers wont remove the mixing code? I'm not saying these are laws, but Evan already has proven to succumb to pressure, it's only reasonable to believe he would do it again.

A Crypto Friendly Trump Administration doesn't mean anything when it comes to tumbling/mixing. They may take a light stance on the entire industry as a whole but when it comes to a tool that can facilitate money laundering they will not take a light stance, you can bet your balls on that.

Holland has banned Monero?  Is It True?
Icebreaker is abandoning Monero?  Is It True?
Shen is abandoning Monero?  Is It true?

What kind of Bullshit FUD is this???

The DashHoles' panicked, immature response to changes in Dutch law making Masternode money-laundering illegal is messenger-shooting tu quoque, that is the accusation of hypocrisy (or in kindergarten terms, 'I'm rubber you're glue').

Rather than explain why Masternodes, which exist only to facilitate coin mixing and other (unlicensed) money services, are not effected by the new Dutch law, they deflect by changing the subject to some ridiculous unsupported theory that Monero is now illegal there.

Never mind that Apple's expensive top-shelf lawyers said Monero is OK shortly after they banned Dash from iOS, because tu quoque is spatula's go-to deflection mechanism.  EG, he used that logical fallacy as his primary talking point during his epic defense of Dash's Instamine.

For insight into why spatula is pushing such obvious Bullshit FUD, see his posting history.

When Monero launched in mid 2014, he was pumping all kinds of shitcoins, none of which ever went anywhere except into the great dump of history.

So we know why poor spatula is so bitter, having missed out on the Monero Moon Train and instead choosing to hold bags of SummerCoin (LOL), BitQuark (LOL), SiliconValleyCoin (double LOL), GroestelCoin (WTF LOL), Navajo (ROTFLMFAO), and something called Metiscoin ("might hit cryptsy tomorrow!Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy).

For the record, I am not nor have one iota of intention of leaving Monero.  Like Bitcoin, I am committed for the duration of the experiment.

A small portion of my holdings could buy me a Tesla, but I'd rather wait until those coins will get me a few acres of prime Napa vineyard (and won't need to be changed into fiat).

very sad for a crypto with a nearly 170 Million Marketcap to rely on these 2 cryptoradio-trolls.

Lighten up Francis!

Ten warning signs regarding people involved in/with a potentially unsafe group/leader.
https://culteducation.com/warningsigns.html

Extreme obsessiveness regarding the group/leader resulting in the exclusion of almost every practical consideration.

["zomg Evan is the greatest Dev since Satoshi"]

Individual identity, the group, the leader and/or God as distinct and separate categories of existence become increasingly blurred. Instead, in the follower's mind these identities become substantially and increasingly fused--as that person's involvement with the group/leader continues and deepens.

["zomg let's all come together as one Dash Nation"]

Whenever the group/leader is criticized or questioned it is characterized as "persecution".

["zomg let's respond to ever criticism of Dash by calling the critic a Troll"]

Uncharacteristically stilted and seemingly programmed conversation and mannerisms, cloning of the group/leader in personal behavior.

["zomg The Instamine has already been Duffplained away!  Believe our Duffsplanations!"]

Dependency upon the group/leader for problem solving, solutions, and definitions without meaningful reflective thought. A seeming inability to think independently or analyze situations without group/leader involvement.

["zomg who cares about an overwhelming vote to increase Dash blocks to 2mb?  Evan knows best so Evolution is the priority!"]

Hyperactivity centered on the group/leader agenda, which seems to supercede any personal goals or individual interests.

["zomg Evan is speaking about EvoluSham Vaporware at yet another conference.  This time it will result in legitimacy for Dash, for sure!"]

A dramatic loss of spontaneity and sense of humor.

["zomg I can't believe Bitcoin Uncensored and Fluffy aren't a bunch of humorless prigs like me and my fellow Evan's Gate cult members!"
1026  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: January 23, 2017, 02:58:30 AM
masternodes don't technically ever take possession of the coins so no need to worry about money-laundering charges or unlicensed money services.  the law will probably treat masternodes similar to tor nodes.

I'm not sure "technically" is enough to keep you out of Dutch jail for money laundering.

Dash buyers/holders paid a lot of money to have a real actual lawyer consider whether the law will treat Masternodes like tor nodes or like Bin Ladin's terror funding network .

It would be nice to know their professional researched conclusions, rather that what you feel about what will "probably" happen.

Of course that lawyer isn't specialized in Dutch law, and that potential risk should be disclosed to Masternode operators and Dash buyers.

Disclosing risks is what sets legitimate investments apart from blue sky rip-offs.

Dutch Authorities Ramp Up Fight Against Bitcoin Money Laundering
Jan 20, 2017

the FIOD — the investigative arm of the Dutch tax authority — wants to lower the bar for prosecution of unlicensed bitcoin traders.

The FIOD will also try to have mixing services recognized as money-laundering operations.

that's gonna suck for darkmarket currencies who are mixed/anon by default. seems their whole blockchain is now illegal.
i'm glad Dash has proactively has taken steps (coinfirm) to prevent getting caught up in stuff like this. i feel bad for other one trick pony cryptos who only focus on anon, at all cost, and are forced to use mixed transactions on a non transparent blockchain. not good news for them indeed!

The Dutch authorities aren't going to be impressed, much less mollified, by some shady self-serving deal with nobodies such as Coinfirm.   Roll Eyes

It sounds like you already know the unannounced results of the Legal Research that Minotaur is refusing to share with the people who funded it.

Do you really have any specialized insight into whether or not Masternodes will run afoul of these new Dutch laws against mixing services, or are you just talking out of your...whatever?

Isn't facilitating DarkSend and InstantX transactions the entire point of Masternodes?  How are those functions not prima facie examples of money-laundering operations and unlicensed money services?   Huh Huh
1028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [DASH] Dash Price and Trade Discussion Thread [UNMODERATED] on: January 22, 2017, 09:58:34 PM
Many months ago, the Dash Masternode network 'blockchain democracy' voted to increase the max blocksize to 2MB, yet that change hasn't been made.

Doesn't that show Dash's governance model is ineffective at best and a fraud at worst?

This all seems to be going a bit off-topic, but then again i dont mind answerring questions about Dash governance system.

The budget proposal in question was used as a polling system, to see if the masternodes would support it or not (an overwhelming majority did support it).
More about this polling proposal can be read here :

https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/dash-birthday-trademark-resolution-blocksize-limitation.7696/
https://www.dashcentral.org/p/2mb-blocksize

Most people complaining about this polling proposal not been implemented yet, seem to have overread the following :

Quote
If approved, a proper development, testing and deployment process would start before it reaches production. Let’s give Dash room to grow.

Currently Dash has two development groups, one group is working on the Dash v12.1 update (a very large update which is currently in its final stage and should hit Mainnet in feb 2017)
and another group of devs have been busy with outlining and coding Dash Evolution (which is currently in its first stage and should hit Dash Testnet in a few months).

As no specific date for implementation of the 2MB increase was ever set and the Dash devs have been focussing on update v12.1 and Dash Evolution, it is reasonable to believe it will
be implemented after update v12.1 and maybe even after Dash Evolution as there is currently no technical need for it.
Dash 1MB blocks are currently rarely full --> http://178.254.23.111/~pub/Dash/Dash_Info.html *block/trx info), but there could be a technical need for it after Dash Evolution.

OK, thanks for the long-winded hand-waving Duffsplanation of why even an overwhelming vote is considered non-binding community guidance and easily ignored.

Since you strangely don't seem to see any fraud in all this distributed governance theater, I'll put you down for the first option, "Dash's governance model is ineffective."

Where is the Legal Research Dash paid to have done with regard to ATMs (IE unlicensed trading) and Masternodes (IE money-laundering operations)?

Is it really the case that insiders like Minotaur are going to keep that valuable information for themselves, despite it having been paid for collectively by the community?

This project was funded last September.  It's ridiculous there is nothing to show for it so many months later.

Even more asinine is the claim that the findings cannot be shared with the people who paid for them, because that would "breach attorney-client privilege."

Someone should inform Minotaur that attorney-client privilege may be waived.   Cheesy

I'd tell him myself, but for some reason his project update threads are locked and do not allow replies.   Huh
1030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [DASH] Dash Price and Trade Discussion Thread [UNMODERATED] on: January 22, 2017, 12:42:16 AM
The competition between Dash and Monero has been going for some time and I believe it is good for the space and development of each projects. For me it all depends on the tech and marketing side of each project, if they can find a balance and  any of this team is able to develop a suitable scaling solution for their project it will be great

[ off-topic rambling and flamebaiting ]

Please stay on topic or leave the thread.

For example, you may wish to discuss Dash's massive Instamine, or the ongoing failure of the Dash-n-drink, Mycelium, and Lamassu ATM integration projects.

Thanks in advance.

ETC buyers are morons, it is obvious, don't forget dash conquered altcoin land for 2 years, very stable coin, and its marketcap was no.3-4 for long time.

fyi it was darkcoin, not dash, that was no.3-4 in marketcap   Cheesy

i dont know why you guys so worried about other coin  progress  Huh

 i thought this is dash's thread ?

so what if MAID reach dash's marketcap, what would you do ? cry some more... fud some more ?

I wonder how the fuck dares ETC to surpass DASH in marketcap and why we dont surpass the fucking monero once and forever .We are far better than this bullshits

Contradictions do not exist. Whenever you think you are facing a contradiction, check your premises. You will find that one of them is wrong.

-Ayn Rand

Your incorrect premises are:

1. Dash is "far better" than ETC (there is no comparison between Instamining cult leader Evan Duffield and superstar math/compsci bosses like Elaine Ou and Charles Hoskinson)

2. Dash is "far better" than Monero (Dash's privacy/fungibility is worse than Bitcoin's, and not even in the same universe as Monero's)

Remember kids, Dash *pays* these pumpers to pump Dash.

It's the textbook definition of astroturf - "fake grassroots."

Ads are typically not allowed in posts (outside of the signature area) because they are annoying and off-topic.

It is especially disallowed to put ads or signatures at the bottom of all of your posts.

That seems crystal clear, but I'm not sure if Tao will be able to understand it.   Tongue

/\ /\ /\ What an embarrassment to crypto and what a lack of professionalism from the trollero dev team.
 Roll Eyes

As businesses or organisation, why would you want these "clowns" dressed up as buffoons represent or lead your project, in a bathroom?!?

Good god... invest in Mr. EA$Y?!?  I think not.

Compare that to  https://youtu.be/Tn2s6IHAL4A. at the Miami meeting...that gentlemen is a class study on being a pro.

I agree with your thoughts completely. I would love to hear what iCEBREAKER thinks of this

I think the NeverTrump Hillary supporters are very tetchy and salty today, and it shows through in their dour, bitter posts.   Cool

Monero is not a "business" so that is the wrong paradigm in which to evaluate fluffy's activities.

As an aside, Dash's structure as a centralized business/organization with CEO/CTO/Chairman Duffield is exactly what will bring down the hammer of regulation on THE DARKCOIN FOUNDATION INC. (a fraudulent non-profit set up to financially/materially benefit the Instamine Crew and promulgate their Masternode HYIP and unlicensed money services business).

I agree with these guys:

hahahahhaha
that's just gold...
xD

Wow...dude in the back!
One of the best pic ever.

I think bigrcanada1 is a humorless butthurt prig who used to be friendly with me until Dash's market cap was exceeded by Monero's, an event which precipitated his current cranky, nasty, and hyper-defensive attitude.

Let's hope he can lighten up and join the rest of humanity in enjoying the silly fun Bitcoin Uncensored provides.   Grin

Yes, that is the correct address of Minotaur's no-replies-allowed locked pseudo-update threads.

I wonder why he doesn't want to engage the community members who gave him the money for those projects.

I guess their feedback and questions aren't important, since the projects are all going very well and are now so close to success!   Smiley
1038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 95% lol. No chance. SegWit is now dead. on: January 19, 2017, 04:16:52 AM
Good job Roger Ver, it looks like SegWit has absolutely no chance at all of getting anywhere near 95%.  I doubt they will ever get over 50%.

SegWit is not Bitcoin.  SegWit is an altcoin.

I feel it is my duty as a concerned citizen and valuable contributor of the Bitcoin community to declare SegWit dead on arrival.

All Bitcoin Judas accomplished was FUDing a perfectly reasonably and innovative soft fork, which is foundational to future scaling, into a controversial object of drama.

Let's all congratulate him on getting kicked off Reddit for brigading, doxing, and monetizing his subreddit.

1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is MaidSafeCoin actually a thing? on: January 18, 2017, 11:40:22 PM
I checked both their forums and both are very inactive compared to other alternate communities.

I read some interesting messages about how they weren't willing to spend $150,000 for a mobile app.  Doesn't make any sense when they have probably accumulated more than $10 million from investors since 2006 - where does the money all go, except for the obvious ("bonuses" for  the executives?).

Also I noticed on their official developer forum, it seems the last updates were from October 2016.   It seems there was a recent announcement in January 2017 but it was just saying they were workign with Glasgow University and trying to hire 12 developers but only found 2 candidates so far.

Is this really acceptable for something which started back in 2006 and entered crypto in 2014?  They seem to be taking this at an extremely leisurely pace and why didn't they hire the sufficient developers years ago?  It seems to be a mismanaged project but being around since 2006 with nothing to show for it was already indication of that.

It's 2017.  Where is the MVP?

At best, Maid is Project Xanadu all over again.  Too much ambition and mission/scope creep.  IOW, too much hubris.  Not enough focus.

At worst, Maid is a scam like OneCoin.

The University partnership thing is also being done by Dash.  They are renting space at some Uni in the vain hope that their host's institutional legitimacy will be conferred by proximity and osmosis.   Cheesy
