Tom Neumayr: "Almost 1,000 fraudulent reviews were detected across two accounts and 25 apps for this developer so we removed their apps and accounts from the App Store. Warning was given in advance of the termination and attempts were made to resolve the issue with the developer but they were unsuccessful. We will terminate developer accounts for ratings and review fraud, including actions designed to hurt other developers. This is a responsibility that we take very seriously, on behalf of all of our customers and developers."

How much did #DashSpamNation pay to have those fake reviews written?  Too bad it backfired, like every other hamfisted try-hard attempt to make Dash relevant again.

My Birthday present to Dash will be a review of the return on investment from the ("gone into thin air'') 11645++ Dash expenditures on

as well as an investigation of whether or not Dash qualifies as a fraudulent "blue sky" security (due to lack of disclosure regarding risks entailed with the Masternode investment produce).

It will conclude that Dash's purported "distributed governance by blockchain" is not actually distributed, nor has it produced anything resembling desirable results given the 11645++ Dash wasted on failed vaporware projects.

Working title (courtesy of camosoul) is "Dash's DGBB Is A Joke."

Special thanks to Minotaur for posting his project pseudo-updates in locked threads where replies are not allowed.  That makes my blue sky/lack of disclosure analysis easier by demonstrating bad faith/malfeasance/guilty conscience/intent to defraud.

Monero's FFS is exquisitely tailored to subsume that constraint, in that the burden of absorbing the cost of failed proposals falls directly (and exclusively) on those foolish enough to fund them.

I will have to correct you as the FFS is even better, if someone fails to deliver on his proposal usually the funds are saved either a) for someone else doing the same proposal or b) after months of inactiveness they will get used for other projects. The beauty of milestones in a proposal isnt it ? Smiley

That's true, but financial backers of failed proposals still either suffer delays in delivery of the contracted work or reappropriation of their donations, which are non-refundable AFAIK.

well well well, if it isn't the most hypocrite of trolls back in our forum.

How much does Dash Nation pay you to attack critics of Duffield's instamined scamcoin?

Betting on the failure of GavinCoin was the correct conclusion; please take your butthurt over the failure of XT/Classic/Unlimited back to /r/btc.

You had your chance to trade Dash 1-to-1 for Monero.  Don't make the rest of us suffer your bagholder's remorse by making these petulant, overdefensive posts.
1045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: January 05, 2017, 08:43:55 AM
By scrutinizing and evaluating each Dash budget item on a case by case ROI basis, one will find they have largely been counterproductive and often epic failures.

The Lamassu ATM integration project is an ongoing, unmitigated fiasco.  Likewise for the Public Relations contract.

Rather than demonstrate the viability of "Distributed Governance By Blockchain" all Dash accomplished was to show the world how having no single responsible entity (and thus accountability) leads to resources being wasted without corresponding guarantees of intended outcomes.

Monero's FFS is vastly superior because it allows us to vote with our coins, getting our 'skin in the game' by ensuring those who support unsuccessful projects bear the cost of their failure.  That's what we used to call 'putting your money where your mouth is.'

This approach exists in stark contrast to the moral hazard of Dash's budget system, where Masternode owners who are insulated by their Ponzi dividends may wantonly and/or fecklessly commit the entire Dash bagholder community to paying via a hidden inflation tax the cost of their ill-conceived and poorly executed pump/hype/spam marketing ploys.

IOW, the free money which Duffield's centralized exorbitant privilege allows to be printed in unlimited quantities is *intrinsically* misallocated because the incentive structure fails to 'close the loop' by penalizing Masternode owners who vote for bad proposals.

Monero's FFS is exquisitely tailored to subsume that constraint, in that the burden of absorbing the cost of failed proposals falls directly (and exclusively) on those foolish enough to fund them.

You have hilarious trust feedback.

If my feedback is hilarious, it's because the trust rating system on this BBS is a joke.   Wink

Your attempt to attack me for criticizing Dash and unfavorably comparing it to Monero is likewise hilarious.   Cheesy

I wonder which will happen first, Monero reaching $1000 or Dash hitting zero?

QFT in case of censorship:

That horse has been beaten to death already.
Most funds where in alt coins that lost value to the market. Expenses has been accounted for and critiqued/scrutinized by the community. The software has been delivered and all extra expenses has been covered personally by AtcSecure.

This.

thats no explaination. if it was put into alts why wasn't it stated here? http://wiki.blocknet.co/index.php/Record_of_Accounts - this feels like back in the xc days, where it was promised to keep expenses of the premine public and then atcsecure "forgot" about it.
this is no FUD at all. if you invest in something you should inform yourself, and doing the same thing two times, promise A and do B is a showstopper. btw XC didn't loose value because of mintpal. It lost value because development stopped and promissed stuff was never delivered

Darkcoin is doing right two things: 1) Marketing 2) The funding of development (they do not come to cheap Scrooge McDuck to ask for donations).

By the way, tomorrow is the key day of 5th of January, how do you think it will change the price? Up or down?

How familiar are you with Dash's particular/individual marketing and funding initiatives?

I have 10 masternodes for sale. Anyone want to buy them?

No thanks.  I think Dash is at the end of its run because Bitcoin has already surpassed it in terms of technological development (RBF and CPFP) and enjoys orders of magnitude greater network effects.

By the time in late 2018 when Evolution is ready for production Bitcoin will have segwit, Lightning, and possibly sidechains/mimblewimble/tumblebit/Confidential Transactions.  That leaves exactly zero reason for anyone to use Dash (assuming it hasn't been banned for being a Ponzi scheme, as OneCoin was).

Masternodes are like a hot potato, you don't want to hold them any longer than it takes to find a greater fool who wants to buy them.

Trading Dash is like musical chairs.  You don't want to be holding a bag when the music stops, as the inevitable regulatory crackdown on operating an unlicensed money services business and offering an unregistered/illegal security occurs.

The end game is to create a fully fungible digital cash

I think you're mistaking "fungibility" for "obscurity". They are not the same thing.

Fungibility doesn't come at the expense of transparency (unless you're talking about fungibility of 'transaction IDs' Wink )

Fungibility and privacy are inexorably bound.  As Adam Back succinctly stated, "fungibility provides privacy as a side effect."

A coin cannot be partially fungible.  It's a binary property, and Dash cannot be half fungible any more than a woman can be half pregnant.

While Bitcoin certainly has important uses (super-money for institutional settlements, central bank forex reserve), its radical transparency is exactly what prevents it from being fungible/private.

Dash is a fork of Bitcoin, so it inherits that limitation.

Even worse, Dash has far fewer users and much less transaction volume so its smaller anonymity set is vastly more susceptible to blockchain analysis.

Worst of all, Dash's relative lack of devs makes it impossible for it to keep up with Bitcoin advancements such as RBF, CPFP, SEGWIT, tree signatures, Rootstock, side chains, Confidential Transactions, mimblewimble, tumblebit, and Lightning Network.

Dash is a shitty instamined scam coin.  That's why it was banned from Apple and will never be on Kraken, much less Coinbase.
1051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash still a thing? on: January 04, 2017, 05:56:48 AM
Take anything that Toknormal says with a grain of salt. He once said that cryptography is not an important component of cryptocurrencies. In other words, he has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. In that context, his love of Dash makes perfect sense. He simply doesn't have the technical understanding to see that Dash is pure garbage.

The funniest part of that story is Tok was telling GMAX of all people "cryptography is not part of cryptocurrency."

Hilarity ensued.  It was like watching a quantum physicist trying to explain wave function collapse to a sea sponge.   Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

EDIT:

Dash is a shitty instamined scam coin.  That's why it was banned from Apple and will never be on Kraken, much less Coinbase.

Review of the Dash Budget System, the First Blockchain-based Decentralized Governance System

https://medium.com/@EricRSammons/review-of-the-dash-budget-system-the-first-blockchain-based-decentralized-governance-system-5ecf86cc6989#.dgu89ltyz

"Whereas the lack of implementation with the blocksize limitation increase is defensible, the same cannot be said for the proposal with the third biggest payout in the history of the DBS: the Dash-Lamassu ATM integration proposal. This proposal, which was initially proposed in December 2015 and ran for 12 months (just recently receiving its last payment), received 7,323.12 Dash, which has a current value over $81,000.

The proposal promised to integrate Dash into existing Lamassu ATM machines, giving users the ability to quickly and easily convert their fiat into Dash (and vice versa). Proposed by Duffield and managed by Daniel Diaz, the Head of Business Development for Dash, this was initially a very popular proposal, and continued to receive funding for an entire year. However, the project has been fraught with delays and poor communication and has yielded no results.

Many Dash community members see this particular proposal as proof of weaknesses in the current DBS, because it distributed a large number of Dash with no tangible results, and no accountability."

A kindly reminder to all Dash members to not quote trolls.  Please do your part to help keep this site clean.

There are 2 Dash related Slack channels.  DASH Nation Slack and myDASH slack channel.  By far the busiest is DASH Nation... Both have great people on them.

Cheers,

Which site is the one that updates us on the Dash-Lamassu ATM integration?

None of the above?

Isn't that a huge problem given the project has taken over a year and spent over $100k but delivered nothing tangible?

6 months without an update is cause for concern.   Undecided

Yes, Monero is in a stunning breaking out, as Dash is clearly paralyzed by its malfunctioning (and lulzy) attempt at "distributed governance by blockchain."

Nope, still nothing clever or interesting.
very very disappointed  Sad

guys, can you just skip phase 2 and go straight to phase 3 of your troll campaign ?
thank you.

Yes, ^that^ is exactly the kind of flame-baiting, off-topic, non sequitur ad hominem response I predicted/explained here

The irritable DashHoles' condescending non sequitur responses to criticism are the result of them feeling ashamed of and disappointed in, rather than proud and enthusiastic about, their project.

and here

The embarrassing shame and disappointment they feel about Dash's shortcomings and failures precludes any healthy constructive response to internal criticism, much less negative observations originating from sources external (and presumably hostile) to their cargo cult.
1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: January 03, 2017, 03:04:32 AM
Thanks so much TanteStefana for really addressing and answering some of the concerns I have. I'll hold for now and after this reply I'll try and refrain from anymore engagement on this (bitter) thread. I'm not a DASH troll and people can mock me all they want but the numbers against our competition speak for itself.
Also, @Cryptohunter, yes I have just under 2,000 coins and I've been interested in dash (DRK) ever since it it was around $1 after the first bubble because I l thought it had real (intrinsic) value . I will not be dumping any coins anytime soon regardless of how much I disagree with their tactics mainly because I think it's undervalued. I don't know who Toaway is and although I hold coins I certainly don't consider myself part of Dash Nation. I hope all goes well with you though and thanks for your response.
If I overlooked any other (real) response then thanks to you too. I don't want to start a war of words, I just think Icebreakers criticism was constructive and I'm happy to have gotten a response from TanteStefana. I'll keep what I have and work hard to invest in others.

DashHoles cling to their "troll" accusations and won't agree that any criticism I make is "constructive", thereby telling you they aren't willing to interact in good faith.  The embarrassing shame and disappointment they feel about Dash's shortcomings and failures precludes any healthy constructive response to internal criticism, much less negative observations originating from sources external (and presumably hostile) to their cargo cult.

You are being too kind in your indulgence of Tante's misinformation.

It's OK to point out the gaping factual deficits in her breezy pedestrian (IE non-rigorous) treatment of the issues.

For example, easily disproved whoppers such as these indicate Tante doesn't know WTF she's talking about (assuming the lies are not intentional):

Dash's privacy is not at the expense of a hidden blockchain.  The blockchain is completely readable and verifiable, whereas Monero's is opaque. This makes Monero only able to do one thing, hide transactions from view.  Dash's privacy is still arguably just as good, creating doubt as to where funds came from.

Dash is based on Bitcoin and has been kept up to date with Bitcoin's releases, Dash is able to utilize all the code created for bitcoin, and integrate quickly into new services provided for Bitcoin.

The first statement is egregiously counterfactual because she has been repeatedly informed of the existence of Monero's View Key.  Her dishonest use of the weasel words "arguably just as good" w/r/t Dash vs Monero privacy is also intensely misleading.

The second statement is obviously untrue and easily demonstrated to be false.  IE, Dash has *NOT* kept up with Bitcoin advances such as RBF, CPFP, SEGWIT, Schnorr/tree multisignature, sidechains, Confidential Transactions, sidechains, Lightning Network, Rootstock, etc.

Dash's codebase is a fork of Bitcoin from many years ago, and its developer (some guy named Evan) is incapable of porting and merging into Dash so many accumulated pull requests.  Their excuse is "we decided RBF or whatever is bad for Dash" yet Dash still depends on the BTC devs whose judgement they explicitly repudiate and lambast at every opportunity.

Once Tante is done making untrue assertions about the present, she goes on to paint you a lovely picture of unicorns flying across blue skies.

Notice how many times she uses the future tense, with occasional derpy slips into present tense:

we are about to release the first wallet that contains the foundation for Evolution
Evolution will not be fully realized for another year
Evolution will be able to
these services will be done
Evolution will NOT be
You will be able to
I will do this
I will use Evolution
Dash will feel to the user
the user will be able to access
their account will look exactly
they will access their account
They will be locked
all will be managable
There will be nothing that Dash can not do
Even loans will be possible

We've already seen this movie a dozen times.  Grandiose visions about revolutionary future events, based on nothing but Hope & Dreams (and GREED).

Promise the Moon, deliver the vacuum of space.  Paycoin.  NeuCoin.  Nautilus.  Dash.  Each scam more obvious and retrograde than the previous.   Roll Eyes

No update on your Scamassu ATM project mega fiasco?

WTF?  Seriously?

You spent $100,000 and 12 months working on a fork of fully functional production software, yet still have nothing to show for it?

WTF?  Seriously?  Does the word "accountability" mean nothing to you and your insider trading poker buddies at THE DARKCOIN FOUNDATION INC.?

Do you have any idea how much dumping all those Dash on the market has suppressed the price?  Dash bagholders are paying via Evan's hidden inflation tax the cost of these expensive/useless snark hunt projects yet receive no benefit.

As a result, your own community is ready to find ways to make you pay back the money doled out for these go-nowhere vapor projects.
