XMR is currently at a double top.
3 cases:
1) Breakout (0.00238879) 2) Pullback, a) Rise again for a triple top break b) Pullback and fail (if it gives a sell at 0.00167545). Sometimes a double top can be very bearish. 3) Consolidate (more X/O columns without a buy/sell signal).
The above are based in the usual chart I have posted here (1d HL, 3%x3).
For some peculiar reason there are certain sale orders of >100BTC magnitude that keeps this below 25xxx area. Hope for a break up within the next 3-4 hours (not sure it will happen though).

There's a lot of pressure not to cross the 20k mark. I've been watching this for a while now and just when somebody puts a bid over 20, somebody dumps coins and drops the ask below that. I think that either somebody is desperate to keep the price down (margin calls?) or this is orchestrated by a group for accumulation reasons. FWIW, I managed to get some more at 18xx today on an instant dump.

lol no I am bagholding ETH atm
Traitor! XMR ponzi pyramid scam, get out before 666666K coins dump on you I'll buy all your ETH for 1/20 of my XMRs @Bitebits: Volatility is essential for a coin to climb up in value.

The battery has nothing to do with its velocity though.
Was just going to write the same thing i tried to make a joke regarding the blocksize debate... Too many frigging geeks in here... No humor at all.

right. just checked: voyager 1 will reach the oort cloud in 500 years and leave it in 28 k years. (if they donīt cap the battery size limit)
In danger to appear geekier than you (hard mark to beat), Voyager 1 is nuclear powered. The power is estimated to be depleted at some point near 2025. Voyager 1 has three radioisotope thermoelectric generators (RTGs) mounted on a boom. Each MHW-RTG contains 24 pressed plutonium-238 oxide spheres.[18] The RTGs generated about 470 watts of electric power at the time of launch, with the remainder being dissipated as waste heat.[19] The power output of the RTGs does decline over time (due to the 87.7-year half-life of the fuel and degradation of the thermocouples), but the craft's RTGs will continue to support some of its operations until 2025.

Technically speaking, we're strongly moving upwards the 20k limit. If this breaks we will test again the 23K area. I hope the margins are now closed. I find it extremely bullish that I couldn't buy on 16.8k (never reached there). CCMF. Edit: Did anyone else notice that XMR is rising TOGETHER with BTC? CCMF^2

Haha! Yes you did! +1

It seems XMR rally postponed, due to BTC rise. FYI: BTC broke CNY2700 which IMHO is a great indicator for up up and away...
Quite the resistance at 0.002-0.0021 are, seemed to have broken it now.
Currently the battle is around 0.00235, but that isn't a major one, next huge one will be 0.00265-0.0027 correct? After that, all bets are off...
I will quote myself from my previous post. This is what will possibly happen IMHO. Many people have been margined XMR. friends, look at the ether chart. looking a lot like bitcoin in 2014.
there's a lot of dumb money on polo right now.
be careful. i'd rather see them lose than you. i would be a seller around .0035 to .004
I believe the "jump" from 25-26 to 35 will be instant. We may witness abnormalities if 3x margin calls get burnt.

The only strong selling pressure now is lying on 21500. Let's see if we have a similar rally with ETH.
ETH is being dumped relentlessly; and for the first time ever, when BTC drops, it drops too. Bear winter for ETH, Bull Spring for XMR. I expect a supernova and not because I own XMR. Most of the alts on Polo went up to 10x on their rallies. 1Bn Market cap feasible?

Anyone knows where the 130-160 shorts (x3) get margin called?
I already replied in another thread with a rough approximate. To calculate it exactly one needs to apply the following formula: (amount of collateral - (amount of units/shares * price)) / (amount of units/shares * price) = % of maintenance margin Amount of collateral is the sum of what is sitting in the account already + the proceeds from the short shale. Thanks for the info dEBRUYNE. Had no idea about it and -indeed- solved a lot of questions...

wow, someone is investing profits from ETH p&d. XMR can go very high, maybe 0.01-0.05 is not out of question now.
I think you are a little bit too optimistic ^^ I just did what he said...
And... XMR 20K is broken. Enjoy the ride Edit: TBH, I didn't expect 100000XMR to be dumped instantly (through static walls on 20000). The first 50000 were bought anyway. Someone wants desperately out, or, wants cheaper coins. The volume on Polo though still is on the rise. Let's have some popcorn.
BTC and LTC are buys !!!
BTC, not yet; 2700+ LTC, I sold a while ago (on loss). Got more than expected by shorting ETH.
What's the target in case of a slingshot?
Absolutely more than 24 - maybe even hit the 30+ area (XMR). Depends on the volume.
I don't believe that ETH will hit the 60-70 area. Maybe if BTC rises up from 2700CNY which is not at all impossible... who knows? The most resilient crypto concerning the BTC rallies is -undoubtedly- XMR. So a diversification is essential (at least that's what I did).
Strong possibility if 200K is broken today on XMR it will be a walk in the park up to 24...
