A bear coin? Does it mean all bear FUDsters are going to leave this thread and move to altcoin discussion?  Tongue

quite the opposite.

all the bitcoin bulltards will be begging for fonziecoins. bitcoin will be considered altcoin/obsolete/yesterday's news.

I thought all the bears would start their own forum called bearcointalk

It's been a bear market for over a year now - it's their turn. After the rally has started, they will turn to bulls eventually... that's how it works Smiley

May I add that during the password set process on claims.mtgox.com site if the user has not matched the MINIMUM security requirements he/she cannot continue. I've tried many times since the password I've chosen met the aforementioned security standards. I propose this will be on a red box into the Kraken site (before the redirection) or the users might never have the chance to see what's wrong with the process. Undecided

Added one more: "closed today". Please update your lists.
1024  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 29, 2015, 07:32:30 AM
I don't know if a 40K market sell was orchestrated or not but many other coins in Polo happened to do just the same (ie: Market buy in VRC got my play money order sold in a jiffy). I believe the resistance at these levels won't let us go further down. As I've previously mentioned I think that's a nice price to accumulate more. That's why I bought.

On the other hand I don't see a drop in the hash rate (at least the one reported in Minergate where I'm mining) which I expected as the price went down (we had similar paradigms in other altcoins in the past). But, I don't know if this number is accurate so don't take my word for it. Roll Eyes
1025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 28, 2015, 09:49:36 PM
I just bought myself some more... Couldn't wait for lower lows that (probably) will never come.  Wink

Another one to add is user: cEI14b

Added. Thanks for your contribution, I can't monitor the whole forum (nor I have the time to do it). Smiley
1027  Other / Meta / Re: "THE LIST" on: April 28, 2015, 06:29:41 PM
FYI: Two more sockpuppets have been added to the list. Please update accordingly.

Cheers.
1028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 28, 2015, 05:57:27 PM
Being passed my average buying price (0.0022), I really think this is a nice time to buy some moar. The resistance is around here with very low possibility to see the 0.0010 range. But bulls or bears, you know that already; don't you?  Grin
1029  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 28, 2015, 04:25:39 PM
As much I hate to predict such a thing, there's been a constant rise from $224 to $231 (BTCe). If this is not a repetition model (aka: Willy bot, or a close relative) I claim for a (hopefully short) drop... Except there's a significant news event, or something equally significant, if you know what I mean.  Wink
1030  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 27, 2015, 09:53:59 PM
Someone at BTC-e is buying like crazy, and arbitragers are buying at other exchanges in order to sell at BTC-e to that desperate guy.

There are of course many possible explanations for that buying spree.  One of them is: someone realized, perhaps by inside information, that he would not be able to withdraw his USD/EUR/RUB balance; so he is converting it all to BTC, as fast as he can.  If that is the reason, and that hypothetical blockade affects all users, then the arbitragers will be screwed.

To have a perspective... how much money are we talking about here? 50 Million? This thing is getting out of hand!
1031  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 27, 2015, 02:40:18 PM
it's about burning what's left on exchanges.

bitstamp & china are dry fiat wise, bitfinex too, now it's turn for btc-e. I suspect those buys are coming from ltc.

Arbitrage on the other hand works alright on the other exchanges as well. LTC or not, this (if it lasts) should head the price North. Cool
1032  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 27, 2015, 11:28:32 AM
Massive support at 218-200, good time to buy if you still got fiat.. Also a Grexit is getting more and more likely, if this will happen it would be a big boost for Bitcoin.

Do you really reckon that's going to happen? I think the EU leaders will do everything in their power to avoid than scenario. Also, even Greece doesn't really want to get out of the Euro zone. Even if they left, they can't just decide to break off of the world economy. It they don't do their best to get their economy back on track, they'll be getting themselves into serious trouble, I guess...

They could default on their greek government debts, drop out of the eurozone but amend their legal tender laws to allow any currency, including euros, to circulate freely and be used by anyone. That would be their most sane course of action, so it will not happen.

Yeah, that would be a bold move, I guess, but it would effectively wipe out every last remaining drop of trust investors and creditors have left in Greece. Also, I believe this would also pretty much throw Greece's economy back into... the stone age maybe? Or do you think this could be a wise thing to do, actually?

Very, very wise. Investigate Panama, Hong Kong, Switzerland and Scottish free-banking eras. Greece would recover very quickly once they rescinded the massive debts that are strangling them to death and let economic freedoms flourish. All they need is a sound currency footing and a believable commitment to free markets, like any nation.

Being in Greece and closely monitoring the situation; I can only say that this "Grexit" scenario is a bold marketing trick. The elephant in the room is Germany and Deutsche Bank (please take a look at their leverage level on their loans). Nobody wants Greece out of the EU; that is except for the Greeks. Eliminating the decoy, would immediately turn heads towards the REAL problem of the EU Banking problem.

We're Greeks; not fools. A second currency would definitely rule out many of the problems (except if it was in the form of IOUs). Gresham's Law has always been accurate in the past and if THAT second currency would've been BTC over Euro, then goodbye debt crisis for Greece. Maybe April's fool joke from Yianis Varoufakis should be taken more seriously, if you ask me.

Unfortunately, after Riga it seems not feasible; so don't expect a rally from a Grexit or Gr-BTC adoption.  Undecided

Sliding down a bit before we go up again; what's new? Also the trendline two posts above is inaccurate IMHO. It should slide down at a much higher rate... Any idea when the reversal is coming?
1034  Other / Meta / Re: "THE LIST" on: April 26, 2015, 06:57:22 PM
Op, lol. Basically you ban everyone who's not bullish on bitcoin. Fail.

Actually, I don't. This has been answered before on this thread (2nd & 3rd page). Please take the time to read my previous answers on the same allegation I received from other members why this is NOT a bear list. If you (after reading my answers) have the same idea; what can I say? It's a free world. Using the list is not mandatory; you may as well ignore it... Wink

Is anyone else have problems creating a new account on Kraken? I tried a few times but it always says invalid state/province when I initially make a new account.

Look for tech support here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=290799.0
Ask for Dargo or Yunus. They're very helpful and polite chaps.

Cheers.

Thanks macsga - yes, Yunus and I are available on bitcointalk if you need help. You can also make a support request at https://support.kraken.com. Our support staff are also very helpful and polite (though not all of them are chaps).  Smiley

OK. Pardon me. I constantly forget that bitcoin land has some women also. Keep up the good work!

Another one to add to the list:
Dolores Haze

Thanks, just added. Please update your lists.

1038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: April 23, 2015, 07:56:08 AM
XMR's real economy is driven mostly by Crypto-Kingdom.

I've had a hunch (purely speculation) that some of the recent upswing was driven by individuals mixing (potentially stolen) BTC from recent scams/hacks through multiple anonymous altcoins. Bytecoin's marketcap went up substantially, then Monero's, then Dash's (not necessarily in that order).

Crypto-Kingdom is a significant parameter, but you ought to admit that XMR has a soul of itself. Look at the community, devteam, missives and perspective so far. No other alt-coin has had so much progress in so little time. Sure there's a strong userbase of individuals belonging to the primary BTC adopters but that couldn't say anything really. How many of us possess DOGE or LTC for example?

Plus, if I may, I see great similarities with the price fluctuations in the early years of BTC. That means nothing of course, but it could mean a lot when you see it as a primary paradigm. History tends to repeat itself; when you least expect it. We must be ready for such a contingency; also as for the contrary as well.

As I frequently wrote around this thread: "Own as much as you don't regret it" (for both possibilities) Wink

On other news, volume is minimal and even a 40BTC buy could move $2 the price up (Finex). Anyone for "pump it" round two? Roll Eyes
1040  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 23, 2015, 07:04:47 AM

I don't to see how a strict regulation which almost everyone declared too tight would increase demand on the market. People claimed crypto developers will flee New York if this regulation is released.

There are always 2 faces in the same coin. IMHO, Bitcoin NEEDS regulation if we're heading for bigger things. Let's see how this evolves, since it's a critical point towards mass adoption.

you NEED to go to bed.

Also, drop the mass adpotion crap.

It's morning here buddy. It's 10:00am and I'm up since 05:50... and WTF is ad-potion?  Grin
