421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: September 15, 2015, 07:12:43 AM
Anyone has to propose a nice frontend for the newest binaries? I used to operate with MoneroX but now Jojatekok (the developer) said that he has no time to maintain it any further. I use to split my holdings; meaning I have XMR in two or more places, but this is needed for my cold storage, so any help available will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

This is an interesting talk of M. Armstrong from Jan 2015. He talks about Europe and Greece crisis, but also a fairly bold endgame. Nice to watch.

I think that this whole situation of "neoliberals" leaving space for "leftists" is intentional. Let's put it another way; everybody (from the 1st clan) sees that the boat is sinking and looking for someone (from the 2nd clan) fool enough to take the wheel. Regardless of how competent this man is; he won't be able to make a difference.

They will hit him hard with a vengeance, stating that it's his fault and convince the people that the most proper solution is a totalitarianism governance that with strict austerity measures (ie: steal the people's properties), will be able to make the wrong, right. You can have a glimpse of what's like with the "preview" of Greek tragedy vs the EU unrelenting policy against the "lazy Greeks".

BTW: While everyone is convinced that the debt is not viable, Schaeuble has proposed (yet again) a ban of Greece from the EU. It will probably has to do with the Schengen treaty cancellation and a place for them to dump the migrants... What an angelic world we're living into.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 14, 2015, 03:22:47 PM
in 3-4 weeks time a cup (from cup n handle) pattern has emerged which will (at the end of october) result a violent lift off into the 80's as the market tries to figure out the correct value/price of a moneroj.

/quasimodo

I agree that there will be a violent  break up around the corner. The front running makes it sure actually that it is going to happen soon. I prepared today by buying over 8 k more Moneros and later in the evening I am going to buy some more unless you guys have not acted before me.

I'm nowhere near your capacity, but I managed to buy a small portion at the area of 0.0022-0.0020. I finally made it to have a nice number of XMR. Again, this is what I'd call "as much as I don't care to have if it goes to 0, and as much I won't blame myself for not buying more, if it goes 1:1 with BTC". Let's hope it gets there! Smiley

I just checked, and I could get delivery tomorrow from my usual place if I chose. I've stopped reading these gold-promoting articles on ZH - I noticed this one was via BullionStar.com

Thanks for clarifying this; I guess most of the articles I'm now reading are pointing to this specific direction. That short-of making me trigger happy.

FED will be deciding on September 17 if they're gonna raise the interest rates. Here's a link stating the stance of every member has:
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/where-every-fed-member-stands-on-raising-interest-rates-2015-08-28

IMHO, such a decision will initiate an eventual crisis, causing stock markets to fall further and USD and probably PM (and maybe BTC) will raise. Another interesting article from yesterday's news is this one:

Peter Hambro: "It's Virtually Impossible To Get Physical Gold In London"
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-09-13/peter-hambro-its-virtually-impossible-get-physical-gold-london

While today's resume of China's stock slide hits another bell that signifies the obvious... that the world economy is in deep sh*t.

Why Armstrong Can Predict The Future Inspite of the Butterfly Effect of Chaos

It's a logical concept. The question is "how could one be sure"? That's my primary concern. You should understand that QM-wise, both opinions could be right. So as I wrote above, I cannot certify that my thesis is 100% correct (or Martin's and yours BTW)... On the other hand, we have proof of concept of his claiming and (fortunately) the certification is near enough.

Again; I'm not saying that I'm a contrarian nor that I disagree. I just can't accept such a bold claim without first testing it thoroughly. Which is what I'm currently doing by observing his posts and predictions (and secretly testing the math behind it). It would really be awesome if he's right, you know! But of course, the opposite would have been awesome as well... Wink
432  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Totalitarianism on: September 13, 2015, 08:16:30 PM
There is a Chinese saying which I cannot remember exactly, but runs something like this:
The best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago.  The second best time is now.
So, if you distrust The System, you should be taking money (hey, it doesn't have to be a lot) out now.  Take some cash out, buy some gold.  Other preparations if you see a bad times ahead (almost inevitable, IMO, the question is to what degree).

Solid advice! I think though, that despite all the black scenarios, the transition will be happening silently and as we speak. No cataclysmic event should take place in order for the world to incorporate a brand new better economic system. Right now, BTC seems like the best alternative while, we don't really know, if TPTB already have something else in mind. One thing's for sure, we're in for a wild ride...

Let me thank you all for your insight and reasoning. IMHO, there's nothing you can "definitely" predict under any circumstances. In any case you would be subjected to that "tiny" turbulence within the chaotic spin of the series of events that will ruin your soup. I've been talking about this with a Jew friend over the net and he said to me "this is all BS - no one knows WTF will happen". He added though, that this kind of predictions have the "attractor" effect (ie: They tend to "create" the "circumstances" for it to happen).

In Physics terms it's just like triggering the double pendulum in order to pinpoint a certain trajectory within the next -short time- period (after a long while, it won't truly matter). I know the above may sound bogus, but they do have a great logical and scientific basis. Nevertheless, I cannot say for sure that that's the way things work...

PS:
Today's the day you know. The end of the 49 year cycle of Shemitah and the beginning of Jubilee year. Let's see what the cat will bring in...
435  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 12, 2015, 08:10:05 PM
There actually IS an "internal" value inside every bitcoin and it's the amount of resources (computers/miners/electricity) to build its block. As time goes by, the aforementioned "value" will rise because the difficulty to build one will be greater and the block reward will be halved.

By that argument, anything that required lots of resources to build, and cannot be easily replicated, should be worth as much as those resources, and gain value with time.  But there are many obvious counter-examples to this claim.  There are many old abandoned buildings that cost millions to build, may cost even more to build today, but now have negative value -- namely, the land is worth less with them on it than without them.

IMHO, your example fails to represent a meaningful and robust argument. Bitcoins are not getting old, nor they fall after not taking after them after 60y. Besides, there's a story about a Real Estate bubble that's been rolling around the news... Smiley

PS: I like your trolling. I like to do it myself sometimes Tongue

There are two videos that have a link between M. Armstrong, TPTB, Bitcoin and the forthcoming economic collapse of Sept. 2015. I never came along those two vids until today; which I find particularly odd regarding the information I'm receiving during each day. I believe we all should watch them and discuss them here. Spend 1hr. Worths it.

Given the circumstances I guess more than one will be after him in order to see what really happened with the coins. I don't rule out the fact he's been playing along with them all this time, and now that the bosses decided to split interests, MK found himself in the middle. I know, hollywood scenario, but nothing is impossible...
440  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 12, 2015, 04:51:44 AM
"Zero cost"... Aside from the cost of nearly every major hodler of bitcoin dumping them instantaneously if the 21 mil cap is put in serious jeopardy.

That is not "cost".  Even if bitcoins lose all their value, no resources or concrete assets will be destroyed.  The world will not become any poorer. Only, a few hundred thousand people who expected to get hold one day of mansions and Lamborghinis  will see those hopes vaporize, and those assets go to other people instead.

This would be utterly wrong. There actually IS an "internal" value inside every bitcoin and it's the amount of resources (computers/miners/electricity) to build its block. As time goes by, the aforementioned "value" will rise because the difficulty to build one will be greater and the block reward will be halved. YES, there's a chance this "value" will be destroyed but not because of what you're claiming, but because you lost your wallet's password - or your computer got on fire; but your loss will add more value to the rest of bitcoins spread around the world.

You see, what you fail to understand (which is common sense to my way of thinking) is what would it take for somebody to use something as a currency. The keyword is "trust".
