141  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you combat your weaknesses in trading? on: January 22, 2021, 11:13:09 PM
TLDR; i guess i wanted to ask that have you guys learned any lifehacks to overcome your weaknesses?

When I see a situation where I know it's not the best for my abilities, I'm trying to stay away from trading. For example: when there is a too big gap in prices, I'm trying to stay out instead of guessing the price direction. This and other similar small steps improved my results over time a lot.
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do you do mining or staking? on: January 22, 2021, 09:12:48 PM
I'm staking as many coins as possible on 7-days cycles. There are plenty of options for 10-15% APY, and I cannot force myself to miss it.
I tried mining a long time ago and figured out that the mining game is not for me.
143  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Cherry Burst at $41,515 Jan 8,2021 on: January 22, 2021, 08:51:47 PM
The Bitcoin Cherry Burst at $41,515 Jan 8,2021.

Are you ready to wait 4-5 years before the next one?

That will be 4-5 years of lowering and stagnating bitcoin prices, as history has repeated since bitcoin began.

Or

Do you believe history will finally quit repeating itself and your Lambo is on order.  Cheesy

 Cool

I don't mind some quiet months. This will allow me to collect fiat to buy more crypto Smiley I don't know why people are killing bitcoin and the whole industry every couple of days or after every 10% dip.
144  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin viable? on: January 22, 2021, 12:11:26 AM
The miners get paid less and less as time goes on.
With the ledger also growing bigger and bigger, wouldn't the cost of mining start to exceed the profitability of mining?  If no one would mine bitcoins anymore, wouldn't it shut the whole system down?

...

Thanks to moore's law, performance of mining hardware improves over time. While power consumption decreases. The value of bitcoin also increases.

These factors coupled together can translate to greater net dollar rewards, even if BTC rewards halve every 3 years.

Everything miners are able to earn past their break even point is free money. Long term, electricity consumption and hash rate difficulty, become the main factors.

Don't forget that the ASICs are specially designed to solve specific problems (in this case, bitcoin hashes) and show even more immense performance potential.

I think bitcoin is viable and will remain viable in the next ten or more years.
145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock is coming into the Bitcoin market? on: January 21, 2021, 11:42:15 PM
Oh, even only with derivates/futures, this could be hugeeee!

Just to balance the potentially over-bullishness of this thread: though I highly doubt it, since this is going to be a derivatives/futures trade, let's not completely ignore that there's a very small chance that this could be a short position.

Point taken. Especially when I'm using futures mostly to short when they are above the index prices Cheesy Still, I think the crypto will benefit at least from the more significant media attention.
146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The right way to store Bitcoin for long term on: January 21, 2021, 09:56:30 PM
Hi guys,

I've been trying to learn about how to cold store securely my small bitcoin holding, and where I can move to as I buy more. I expect to be picking up more and more over the coming weeks and months.

1) Is something like a Nano Ledger or a Trezor the right method?

2) What app should be used?

Is there another more definitive, secure method of accumulating BTC for long term holding?

Thanks!

I'm more orthodox and old school. I cannot trust hardware for 10+ years without checking it regularly.

For my cold wallet, I bought an engraving machine from eBay and engraved the private key on four metal placed then placed in different places.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biden treasury secretary nominee Yellen says "curtail bitcoin" on: January 20, 2021, 11:01:26 PM
Biden already promised 400bn for local manufacturing, 300bn for researches, 1.9tn covid-19 plan, and I guess that he will not stop any time soon.

Do you think that the dollar will sink big here?
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BlackRock is coming into the Bitcoin market? on: January 20, 2021, 10:48:13 PM
Oh, even only with derivates/futures, this could be hugeeee!

"The date of this Statement of Additional Information is April 29, 2020 (as amended January 20, 2021)."

I wonder when we shall feel the impact as the document is 8 months old, but is amended today?
149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best to inheritance of btc and crypto on: January 20, 2021, 10:00:20 PM
Any ideas of best and most effective ways to inheritance btc and crypto ?

There are two approaches:

1) To give the private keys to the people you trust, but they could use the funds before your decease.

2) Use a service with a multi-signature wallet, but the problem is that you own only one of three keys and the other two parties could transfer the funds in cases like a court order.

152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are current sending fees of btc? on: December 29, 2020, 04:46:18 PM
Actually, there is no default it always depends on the network.

Use this tool below to check what is recommended transaction fee
- https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#0,24h

Under "mempool size in MB" use your mouse to check which fees are below 1MB size because those fees below 1Mb are faster than paying a low fee above 1Mb.

I use Johoe's Bitcoin Mempool Statistics daily. When you combine it with the number of transaction per block, you could make the perfect calculations:

https://www.blockchain.com/charts/n-transactions-per-block

Currently, if you want a confirmation within 1 block, you must set the transaction fee to 120+ sat/b.

If you are not in a hurry, you could pass a transaction within an hour or two with 1/2 of that.
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FOMO has started for Bitcoin on: December 29, 2020, 12:15:35 AM
We might come across so many users posting unrealistic predictions about Bitcoin. We have already witnessed this during December 2017, so please be more cautious than ever before you invest into bitcoin by doing your own research and if you are ready for a long term investment then you may think of investing so that even during worst case situation you will get back your returns just like those invested during last peak and hodled it got it now. If you are looking for short term gain then give it a second thought.

Not everyone is going FOMO.

I sold 4/5 of mine to stable coins as I decided to cash out on fiat profit and live with my decision. I don't plan to re-buy at this price. Of course, if some miracle happens and Bitcoin drops under $18k, I will enter again.
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that planned pump and dump is ethically acceptable? on: December 28, 2020, 11:51:29 PM
Pumps and dumps and immoral and I cannot accept it ethically.

They are literally planned and executed mass scams! Additionally, pumps and dumps are bringing bad names over communities and coins.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which virtual currency is suitable for long-term investment? on: December 28, 2020, 11:29:00 PM
Taking a look at the crypto industry, there are lot of potential crypto asset to invest into for a short and long term. But as an investors, long term is more preferable for me , from your opinion, what will be the best crypto asset that worth my hard earn money l can invest into  for a long term. although bitcoin and ethereum are center of focus for big financial institutions such paypal and the rest of the fintech giants.

If you are looking for stable altcoins, I would suggest you Ether, Binance coin and Polkadot.

But if you want to make a bigger ROI, you will have to risk with newer projects and IEOs.
156  Economy / Gambling / Re: 👍👍New Sports Betting Software Provider👍👍 on: December 27, 2020, 10:37:58 PM
The idea is good, but you should do a little more testing.

Here is the DEMO in my browser without any non-standard blocking:

Up to 7 % Partner share from GGR isn't it slightly higher than the industry standards?
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ⚡ OnX Finance, The First DeFi Hub For Collateralized Tokens ⚡ on: December 27, 2020, 10:26:14 PM
Gitbook for documents. Interesting method. Good idea, i`ll try too  Smiley What`s about roadmap? Not found it

OnX Finance currently only have 'Farming'. Everything else is 'Coming Soon'.
In my eyes this is pretty Ann + pretty site and ZERO real value, just some people trying to make quick bucks around the DeFi hype.

158  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: CONFESSION TIME: I SOLD TOO EARLY on: December 27, 2020, 10:08:38 PM
S*t happens Cheesy

I sold 80% of mine BTC to stables coins on $22.5k as I felt there is no way to go higher before NY. Obviously, I was wrong and now I still can't decide should I make the conversion back on loss or there is a chance to buy it cheaper than $27K...
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of 2018 BTC aftermath on: December 27, 2020, 09:12:58 PM
As we all enjoy the current btc uptrend, it is becoming a glorious moment watching btc moving up and up. it looks like a trade we all hope for. on daily base, BTC price keeps moving up without signs of dropping. personally, i think the funds are coming from XRP dumpers. also i am skeptical because markets always correct itself no matter what.
i think what happened in 2018 will still repeat it self. BTC might fall back to 20,000 but we never know when and how but for now, lets enjoy the sweet ride to 40,000

Everything is possible but I find the current market conditions being totally different than 2018.

I'm still cautious as 2018 made me miserable, but at the same time, I'm much more optimistic than 2018.

160  Economy / Speculation / Re: How Far is GrayScale & Other Institutions Going to FOMO Bitcoin? Poll! on: December 26, 2020, 06:44:14 PM
As GrayScale is just first of many... it will be a huge bull run.

More and more business going FOMO. Let's hope that they will not pump it too much and too 'scary' for the rest of us.
