1401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bloody day trade on: July 07, 2017, 11:50:06 PM
There is no news in here.  This kind of event always happen almost regularly so I wonder why OP is so surprised about this stuff.  This is simply called fluctuation or losing support from the people.  Or some whales with different altcoin portfolio is exiting the cryptosphere.  At the end of the day, this is just a regular event that most traders are taking advantage to book a profit.
1402  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin End World Poverty? on: July 07, 2017, 11:46:43 PM
Forbes aticles sometimes are so positive, i really don't think a problem like that can be solved with bitcoin, we are so far from ending with world poverty.

The world does not rely in an article.  and remember it is  a piece of work where the author wanted to attract interest from the audience so there are some exaggeration and fairytale in those articles to be able to satisfy their readers.  I do not think Bitcoin can end the world poverty because it is hard to access by the poorest of the poor since we need gadget and internet access to be able to join its community and transact with it.  And these people does not have any money to buy this things so how can they have access to bitcoins?
1403  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GGS] Gilgam.es E-Sport platform for everyone crowdsale on: July 06, 2017, 10:28:14 PM
I really think you guys should add a signature campaign. Good exposure. I really hope this whole idea works beacause it is so awesome.
I will feel so disappointed if it fails or doesn't ever get done. It is so much work to do. Won't be easy but we can do it if we see your team are serious about this project Dev.

And I really think you should read more before commenting since they had their signature campaign two weeks earlier than your message  Smiley

Campaign has collected 825 eth by this time and the good news is were ,only on the second week of the crowdsale,  campaign has enough time to reach thier goal. Might thinking to reached 5k eth before the crowdsale ends.

Yes it might reach 5k eth before the crowdsale ends Gilgam if you want to invest in crowdsale do it now because it will not be cheaper after it has been stablish for a while. 4 days to go before the crowdsale start and for the presale you will have 885token for 1eth pretty much and if you buy in the 4th week you will have just 500 ggs. grab now your token

500 GGS per Eth is kind of worth it as long as the price of Ethereum remains the same. The coin has the potential to get a larger price since people can make money from it and it is not limited to only being exchanged inside of a Bitcoin exchange. People like to gamble and there’s guys and girls playing Esports everyday so this project should be really popular if the money from the ICO is used correctly.

I also agree that this is a good price. It gives the developer a good amount and at the same time give investors a good room for potential growth on the value of the token.
1404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Pump-dump groups? on: July 06, 2017, 10:00:51 PM
I am not giving attention to this Pump-dump groups.  I believe the one who created this group is just exploiting those people who will join this group and eventually rob them of their Bitcoin just what Wolong did with his own pump dump group.  Aside from that this is quite hard to sustain since there is always someone who wants to take advantage of another member of the group .
1405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 August 2017, Does everyone think it is effect to bitcoin price or not? on: July 06, 2017, 04:16:21 PM
I think August one will definitely have and effect to Bitcoin price.  Whether it will go up or go down depends on which side is more convincing, those who spread FUD or those who spread Hype,  I think we need to wait for that day to come so we will know if it will have a positive or negative effect  once the Bitcoin update is implemented.
1406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a source of income? on: July 06, 2017, 04:00:35 PM
Today many people rely on bitcoin, in the sense that they are now focusing on the world of cryptocurrency, leaving their jobs

Is there something like this, is there any special tips because i want to focus but not yet dare?

yeah it's true because payments from cryptocurrency is very high than payment from real job
maybe this is a reason people leave their jobs
This I will agree the bitcoin is paying more money to compare our real job salary. But just depending on Bitcoin money is not right. Now we can make a good profit, but we don't know what the future of Bitcoin is. So safer side we have to go for the real job. Suppose our bad luck the price drops then what we do? So never quit your real job.

Depending only on bitcoins for income is a big risk as you never know what will happen to bitcoins in coming years and right now we may think that we can earn higher in compare to real job but if price falls in future then our income would be below our expectations so its always good to keep bitcoin as a extra source of income.

Not bad Smiley. I would not risk the money. I have a wife and child on the way. The problem is how BTC will fall heavily on price. What do you do?
I will agree Smiley. Bitcoin as an extra income is great. As the main source of income is risky. Has anyone in the forum tried to resign from work permanently to earn BTC?

I'm guilty of this. Grin
It happened to me that I resigned from work because something happened to me so I need a rest. Good thing my friend introduce me to bitcoin. This whole thing made me survive in everyday life and Im earning decently. And for now I dont have plans in returning to my work.

Not bad :

). I would not risk the money. I have a wife and child on the way. The problem is how BTC will fall heavily on price. What do you do?

I bet he will go back to his old job, or apply to the job that needs his skill.  Having Bitcoin price falling simply means less income for us, so definitely we will need another job to support our daily needs.  There is always an option to go back where we used to earn.
1407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is working fine! No change needed! on: July 05, 2017, 10:49:48 PM
I believe bitcoin need to evolve and upgrade to keep up with the technological development and be able to scale with the number of people transacting with Bitcoin.  If Bitcoin development become stagnant, yes it is functioning well today but who knows if it will cope up with the competition especially in scaling and current technology the new altcoin is offerring.
1408  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price after 1 August - Down 50% on: June 30, 2017, 05:31:30 AM
Bitcoin price after 1 August - Down 50%

how do you think about bitcoin price after 1 August 2017.
if there is hard folk, will price down to 50%??

I would like to know exactly.
We can't expect any big dump after segwit activation on coming august but there might be some correction due to panic traders and some fud on the market.

I am expecting around 30% pump before 10% correction by august  Cheesy

I also think that there will be a pump due to speculation of the price to skyrocket and when the activation is done and the problem is solved, then I can see another series of new ATH.  I always think that this update will bring positive result to bitcoin, people spreading FUD because they wanted to get bitcoin at a cheaper price to maximize their profit when bitcoin price goes up multiple times.
1409  Economy / Speculation / Re: downtime soon ? on: June 30, 2017, 04:28:01 AM
there are many reports which states that the coins sized my GOVT agencies will be auctioned soon...
if we do some calculation i think there are aprox 1000 BTC (maybe more) which are freeze by agencies from various counties

if i remember correctly Silkroad admin alone had 300+ BTC..

now if those reports are correct
and if those BTC again come to circulation
does it mean we can expect a huge decrease in BTC rate in future ?

There are more than 16 million coins at the moment, even if we assume  a big amount of those coins are lost that amount is tiny compared to the full supply of bitcoin, I will not be surprised if some users in this forum had a lot more coins than that.

It is not a news that some pioneer of this forum holds more than the coins that is being auctioned.  They get bitcoin at a very cheap price, some probably get it at less than 1 USD.  Aside from that I do not think that this bitcoin to be auction will affect the price of bitcoin in the market unless they sold it directly on the exchange eating buywalls of people, but I believe it will recover easily if that thing happen.
1410  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could Bitcoin price increase to $1 Million one day? on: June 30, 2017, 03:45:26 AM
it may seem unrealistic or even impossible now and i also though this way but when you look back at the time when price was $1 for example, $1000 or $2000 seemed unrealistic and impossible too!
and the supply is really small compared to all the demand. and as we add SegWit and then add LN to be able to handle that kind of demand, that price becomes a lot more possible.

Well, in 2009, someone bought 5,000 bitcoins for $27. The worth of 5,000 bitcoin today is more than a staggering $12 million dollars. That was multiplied a thousandfold.

So it is not impossible to happen after all, eh?

If we look back at the history of bitcoin, which is relatively young, being less than a decade, everything seems unbelievable and impossible, too.  Cheesy

It is not impossible but the possibility is slim.  Look at the figure, which one is easier to multiply 1 or 1000?  This is why the higher the price of Bitcoin, the harder to get profit from it since it needs a huge fund to move the market higher.  There are prediction that bitcoin will cost 1 million Dollar  a piece but that is quite exaggeration in my opinion.
1411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you like best about bitcoin? on: June 30, 2017, 03:28:00 AM
The thing that I like best with bitcoin is its wild fluctuation.  Being a trader, i like bitcoin to have a high volatility so that I can take advantage of the difference in price and book a profit.  Aside from that, the support and acceptance of companies to bitcoin since it brings job / task to people and give opportunity to people like us that is actively participating in its community.
1412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GGS] Gilgam.es E-Sport platform for everyone crowdsale on: June 29, 2017, 06:13:59 PM
Arabic whitepaper is complete and can be found here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BwRJcHacpklaenh2TFlRS1dJYmc
I have a question, you said in the OP that the translators reward is 1500GGS for translation and 500 GGS for moderation, but in the same time you mentioned that the whole translators reward is 10k GGS, I can see a lot of translations, thus if you want to divide the 10k GGS on all translators, the reward will be much less than 1500+500 for everyone.

This is under the campaign manager and owner discretion.  It is either you participate or not.  But I guess even with less token as a reward there is also  a possibility that the amount of the bounty will be bigger than the ordinary campaign that is running in the marketplace service of this forum.  I have seen several campaign that offers lesser token but once converted it is worth more than the standard payment in weekly bitcoin signature campaign.
1413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving bitcoins on: June 29, 2017, 05:57:22 PM
better to hold your bitcoin in your wallet when the right time only you exchange bitcoin in to dollars

I agree that it is best to hold your bitcoin if you are saving them.  We would never know when will the online or web wallet close if we leave our bitcoin in there.   As for saving Bitcoin, it is currently advisable to save bitcoin since bitcoin is bound to increase in price in the future during the market saturation.
1414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof that Crime isn't Why they Hate Bitcoin. on: June 29, 2017, 05:47:46 PM
PROOF:
Tools like VPNs and Proxies almost have thesame capability as Bitcoin but you hardly hear the complain about them.
Are you sure about this? How VPN and proxies can provide same capability like bitcoin  Shocked  Shocked I think you should read about them once again, bitcoin sole propose was not only to provide anonymity. It was designed to give total financial freedom and privacy which we can't get when using any of vpns, proxy or tor network.

That is what my question too.  How could VPN and proxies have the same capability as Bitcoin, I have not heard any news people using VPN and Proxy as payment to buy them goods. And Bitcoin does not offer a good anonymity either since all transaction were publicly displayed.  I agree that  he needs to review the features of this three  things. (Bitcoin, VPN, Proxy)
1415  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Bloodbath on: June 27, 2017, 10:27:18 PM

That is crazy, but aren't banks using Ethereum now? that's probably where all the money is coming from!

no. that's one of the pervasive myths that people like to use to pump.

no bank is ever gonna use an alt that's exposed to an open market, same goes for xrp, especially markets as rigged as the crypto ones. what are they gonna do, get on poloniex and buy buy buy if they need to complete someone's bank transfer if they ran out of ethereum? that's ridiculous.

they'll use the code and adapt it for their own purposes but try telling that to the pump zombies.

I agree banks loves manipulation and centralization so they won't use a token that is trading in an open market and being governed by non-bank people.  They may acquire the technology and modified it according to their likings and make it centralized.  So I guess people should stop dreaming that these ETH and XRP will be used by bank directly.
1416  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you have 10 bitcoin !! on: June 26, 2017, 11:27:00 PM
If I have 10 Bitcoin will spend them accordingly. 2 BTC to be invested on ICO's, 1 BTC to be trading shitcoins ( who knows when they will pump)  another 2 BTC to buy promising altcoin and hold them for years.  5 BTC will be sitting in my wallet and wait till August 1 for a possible chain split, that way I have doubled my bitcoins since I have 5 bitcoin each on the chain.  More profit taking from this sitting BTC.
1417  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC sudden price fall? on: June 26, 2017, 10:18:00 PM
I think this is just normal of Bitcoin.  The other week bitcoin was at this price then it goes up and goes back to this price again.  This is what we called high volatility.  Wild fluctuation that attracted lots of day traders since they can book big profit from this price changes.  I am surprised that OP is still surprise about this kind of price changes in Bitcoin.  And about ETH it goes down because it should since ETH had form a bubble and seems this bubble burst.
1418  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have been waiting for Bitcoin to reach $3000 on: June 25, 2017, 04:46:52 PM
OP, BTC reached to that point in many "other" countries where premium rates were applicable and being used to dominate the markets the way their exchanges wanted to. Still, if you are waiting for it to reach $3k, then I would recommend you to sell a part of your coins at current rates and wait for your target with the remaining ones if you are not in a hurry kind of a situation.

Probably OP is waiting for Bitcoin to reach 3k USD and stay above that price.  We may have experience and witness bitcoin reaching that price but it falls quickly and have not recovered to its peak.  I think we need to wait until the effect of August 1 kicks in.  It will definitely push bitcoin price if the FOMO triggers when Australia citizen and companies starts accepting bitcoins and that August 1 event effect kicks in.  Probably 5k USD would be visible.
1419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is declining as top crypto currency. Why? on: June 15, 2017, 04:37:01 PM
With the range of people covered, I think Ethereum is gaining grounds but bitcoin is rather in an advance stage, taking a look at it, Ethereum is still in its infancy stage, not much of the world regarding to the ratio of Bitcoin population and usage.  And please take note that a huge amount of ETH with huge funds coming from the ICO is in the hand of its developer so they can do a daily trade with huge volume.  I agree ETH is shining but it is still far from taking over the seat enjoyed by bitcoin.  Coinmarket Cap? let us give them to the coins with a huge number of supply.  Grin.
1420  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're reaching $3,000 soon! on: June 07, 2017, 10:48:41 PM
Ripple that you think has a market cap of $11 billion, has in reality a market cap of $29 billion....
$29 billion based on which source?

It seems he made some typo, I think it is rather $29 million considering the actual coins that is circulating and actively traded.

I also agree that with the bullish trend of bitcoin, there is no doubt that Bitcoin is reaching $3000 soon.  With the upcoming Australia acceptance and several Big companies in Japan that will soon join the Bitcoin blockchain, Bitcoin will definitely increase in value.
