So far from many members replies i learnt, if you have enough power to give cards, x1 or x8 or x16 doesn't matter.
Certified PSU with some percentage of watts more than you actually need even after over clocking must run cards perfectly.
1462  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LinuxCoin A lightweight Debian based OS with everything ready to go. on: May 09, 2011, 03:38:18 PM
Seems Linuxcoin tested me instead of me testing Linuxcoin. Want to try new version soon.
1463  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LinuxCoin A lightweight Debian based OS with everything ready to go. on: May 09, 2011, 03:36:16 PM
It took me a lot of hell, to work with Linux. I am not blaming Linux or Linuxcoin, i am complete newbie to Linux.
Besides, i have only one monitor now & i connected 2 systems to it & my main system is mining which can't be stopped.
With 2nd computer & my bad, broken keyboard, 7, y , u & some other key won't work until pressed with an hammer.
Really funny today working with a broken keyboard & trying to set the keyboard to US, by connecting from linuxcoin pc to main pc instead of switch using 2 lan cards & bridging them.....................
tired.

Still, i am impressed with this linux, the above post abt tar is typed from that pc only, which made me tired by giving wrong password due to broken keyboard, which didn't allow me to login to forum to post until a long fight.

Is CUDA supported? I downloaded cuda for linux form Nvidia & it is a .run file, which i don't know how to run.

Why no shutdown & logout, logs out of one theme with "B" coin image to debian replacing start & again logout , login to debian only.
How to shutdown or login to "B" user or theme or whatever it is.
1464  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LinuxCoin A lightweight Debian based OS with everything ready to go. on: May 09, 2011, 03:06:41 PM
cd /opt/AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx64  running in xterm changes to that folder.
But tar icd-registration.tgz -C /   gives error, saying

tar: you may not specify more than one 'Acdtrux' or '--test-label' option
Try 'tar --help' or 'tar --usage' for more information.

What do to?
1465  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Please test: New Experimental Pool "Eligius" on: May 09, 2011, 12:49:49 PM
Your balance goes ups & downs, but what u get paid is not.
It seems the connection between the balance & current has some strange connection.
When i mine, i also gets ups & downs. But if i stop, then my balance is what was original or increased if a block was solved when i mine.
Seems as every pool this pools also takes ur shares in current block only.
So, while u mining, it will be showing u some balance, hoping that this pool solves the block & u get some bitcoins u shared for current blocks + ur original balance.
When another pool finds block, then it starts from scratch again for current block. so, again it will be reflected as down in u r balance & going up.
He is not taking ur coins or balance. But the balance connected to the current coins u MAY get.
That creating ups & downs in the balance.

I am not 100% sure about what i said above. if wrong some correct.
1466  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Lowering mem clock to idle speeds SPEEDS UP Mh/s on: May 09, 2011, 12:26:54 PM
After some more tweaking, my best for core 1020 is 344 on my 6870
Impressive. Can you share that?
I am on win 7 32, with new poclbm or phoenix 1.4 ,in 6870,  only able to get 296 Mhash/s with 1029/359 or 301 Mhash/s with 1038/360.
1467  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BitcoinPool.com open thread on: May 09, 2011, 09:28:04 AM
Its not my fault, i am not asking you to pay me.
You seems not understanding still.
They didn't change password, they changed ADDRESS.
Since Bitcoin address is not a number very very very very easy to remember, it is very hard to find whether it is changed or not.
The hacker hacked members account & changed the address, so that he gets bitcoins, not members.
This is not about password only, its about ADDRESS also & address is very very very very important than password here in bitcoin world.

The email i received from you only tells to change password, not saying anything about address checking, verifying & confirming.
1468  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BitcoinPool.com open thread on: May 09, 2011, 06:50:25 AM
My account was compromised & it was never mentioned to me.
I daily checking bitcoinpool.com & it displayed compromised account & my account never listed, so done nothing.
I mined yesterday & got 2 transactions in my email showing that

Amount: 0.2062528 & Amount: 0.07712649
Recipient: dishwara [1DML7p6LJG3QKo169Zga2iCP9Yn4Qvxdyg]
transfered. I keep on checking bitcoin client , nothing is happening, checked in block explorer coins transferred, then checked my address book, that address was not my address at all.
the FUCKING BASTARD, hacked my account & changed my bitcoin address, so that i lost 0.277 coins with out changing the password.

GEEBUS & FAIRUSER ALERT ALL YOUR MEMBERS TO CHECK THEIR BITCOIN ADDRESS IN THEIR ACCOUNT IS SAME AS THEY GIVEN & ALSO ASK TO CHANGE PASSWORD IMMEDIATELY.
Also, always the password typed in your sites goes unencrypted which makes any one to hack account.
SaferChrome Extension for chrome always shows in RED, password box meaning, it is not safe.

To the BASTARD who own this address 1DML7p6LJG3QKo169Zga2iCP9Yn4Qvxdyg, I am 100% sure & also this world knows now that, your mom & your daughter sucked & fucked me for that bitcoins, enjoy u PIMP.

1470  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: if deepbit.net gets anymore hashing speed it could compromise the system on: May 08, 2011, 06:16:10 PM
..most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent
on the system, that they will fight to protect it.
Were you listening to me or looking at the woman in the red dress?
Look again.
1471  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~450 Gh/s Mining Pool] INSTANT PAYOUT,+1% with LP! +0.8% for no failed blocks! on: May 08, 2011, 03:58:40 PM
It is [Tycho] who has to ask/tell/request its members to switch to other pools when the other biggest pool struggling.
So, small pools also gets miners & coins.

Bitcoin came to break monopoly , not to create monopoly.
1472  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~450 Gh/s Mining Pool] INSTANT PAYOUT,+1% with LP! +0.8% for no failed blocks! on: May 08, 2011, 03:54:54 PM
Thanks for the response.
How often is it recommended to change my receiving address?
ok, so can I receive on any address in my receiving address list?

You don't have to change receiving address. The address u gave in the settings page of ur account is enough.
Every time use different account is not for getting bitcoin from pool.
It is for anonymous bitcoin transfer to some one with out the chance for anyone to know that u transferred.
What you have now is correct. & every time, it reaches threshold, you will get bitcoin from the same receiving address which advised not to change, unless some one hacked ur system. just play cool, forget fear.
One more thing, set the threshold to match the maximum bitcoins u get in 24 hours. This pool sends your bitcoins every 24 hrs automatically & u have one extra chance to take coins manually with in 24 hours.
1473  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LinuxCoin A lightweight Debian based OS with everything ready to go. on: May 08, 2011, 03:43:25 PM
Impressive, very impressive. In the last 10 years of my computer experience, the very first Linux distro worked this much fast.
Damn small linux & linux mint was impressed me before. But Linuxcoin went a step further & everything is instant. may be due to portable.

But, i have a old 9400GT Nvidia & i tried in that machine.
A text window opened said, to install AMD APP, copy paste...
ctrl + c & ctrl + v , not working, so gone for edit copy, but no option to paste in terminal.
Then typed manually & used file manager to find the registration.Huh file as mentioned in the text file.
tried tar icd-registration.....-C/ |
But how to use pipe symbol, i don't know.
Pressing the "|" in my keyboard types ~~~~~.
Also, since cant able to give ip address, cant able to connect to my Lan.

Lack of DHCP & keyboard lang selection, made me to shutdown.
You took out many things in system/control panel.
But for newbies like me, working in terminal is worst than working in dos.
Please add network configuration, keyboard, mouse, display in GUI.
I hope thats enough to boot & mine only.

Still really impressive Linux distro in the view of an avid windows user of 12 years.

1477  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Cooperative mining (270Ghash/s) on: May 07, 2011, 10:14:42 PM
Too many RPC connection errors today.
But it is not happening with other pools.
Also miner becomes idle many times with no job.
using poclbm latest, which gives no problem in other pools.

The MD5 hash don't match with the file i downloaded from this site today.
my hash is   MD5: d50c4d3a38a1349111bac5f69b9571f1  linuxcoin-v0.1b-ati-cd.iso
while it says CD MD5: 71e5253bc5bda47003c57d71c52db869  linuxcoin-v0.1b-ati-cd.iso
My file size is 684 MB (717,387,776 bytes) on win7 32.
Who is wrong?

0.05BTC says the MD5 hash you (and i) got is the hash for version 0.1a...
I so far downloaded 2 files from this thread
1. file
Name: linuxcoin-v0.1b-ati.iso
Size:540 MB (567,076,684 bytes)

2.file
Name:linuxcoin-v0.1b-ati-cd.iso
Size:684 MB (717,387,776 bytes)

I started usb download now.
