1461  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need help with Antminer WAN settings..(donation within) on: February 06, 2015, 04:37:11 PM
Issue resolved. Thanks for the offer mazedk and Zich, I do appreciate your time reading my posts. However, the user Prelude HAS GONE OUT OF HIS WAY AND SPENT MULTIPLE HOURS ON TEAM VIEWER TONIGHT HELPING ME OUT. He was able to change my IP back to it's original state before my ISP changed it on me, which in turn let my network recognize all of the devices, including the antminer, once again. Again, HUGE THANKS to PRELUDE, model member to this community and the internet in general. This post was in frustration - my miner has been working uninterrupted for over a year, and then my ISP changed my address on me. After a few days of tinkering, I just decided to post. I didn't actually consider that this was the internet, I guess. Either way - Thanks for not messing my stuff up too bad, I suppose.

Just for reference - My antminer is connected via ethernet to a linksys hub switch in my room. The hub switch is then connected to the modem with a cable, which is then connected to the wireless router which I do not use. I wasn't able to access my modem, so we bypassed it and connected my cable straight to the router. This gave us the access we needed to be able to change my IP back. The issue was, I couldn't access my antminer because the ip was changed.

Thanks for the kind words. Smiley Was happy to help!

Yeah, the issue was:

Modem ---> Switch ---> Ant instead of

Modem ---> Router ---> Switch ---> Ant

Check your private messages.

Err.. Yeah, he's right. I was also able to connect to your miner before you took it down. Please give a detailed description of your network, you're definitely doing something wrong lol.
1464  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need help with Antminer WAN settings..(donation within) on: February 06, 2015, 07:12:06 AM
What kind of router do you have? You should simply log into it and change the address back to 192.168.1.x as it was before. You had setup static ip addresses on your ants?

Is there any way to get this working with an Innosilicon A2 Terminator?
1466  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: 2 AVA4.1s Won! [5000 TH] CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: February 06, 2015, 03:44:52 AM
Has anyone updated their S4's with the new firmware from Bitmain Tech initramfs.bin.SD-20150129.tar.gz? Having problems with the new firmware update. When I change the frequency settings from stock, the miner will revert back to an old pool that I used to mine at. When I change the pool settings back to CKPool, it will revert the frequency settings back to stock settings. I have uploaded the backup copy of the miner before applying the new firmware, but without Joy, as in it's still doing the same thing.

Sounds like cache issues.
I was experiencing similar things with an S3 yesterday, opened a different browser I had not used with a miner, bc I never use IE for anything, but it did refresh properly.

Your original question about the S4 firmware. I haven't gotten to it. My spare SD died, so I have to pickup another this weekend and not updating without one heh. I wonder... may have an extra in the digicam Smiley

If I do, I will update you.

Why bother with an extra SD card? You can always re-write the original image if the upgrade goes bad.

On my end, I upgraded my 5 S4s and they work perfectly on CK's solo pool. I'd expect the same behavior here. No idea why your S4 is acting up with the overclock, mine have no issues. Perhaps a factory reset is in order?
1467  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help Please! What would be the best way to power 15 Sp20's from home??? on: February 05, 2015, 10:29:27 PM
Yeah, that's normal since you've got a heavy load on the panel already, voltage will sag a bit. If everything was powered off you'd have a clean 120v.
1468  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Help Please! What would be the best way to power 15 Sp20's from home??? on: February 05, 2015, 08:01:22 PM
Damn, must have cost a pretty penny to rewire everything to copper. 12AWG is good for 20A, and 10AWG is good for 30A of 120V or 240V.

So yeah, you could easily convert that outlet by switching the breaker. Your neutral line becomes a second 120V leg, so 2x 120V + ground. That circuit could handle 7200w non continuous, or a continual load of 5760w. I suspect you will soon be hit with the "wow why didn't I do this earlier" 240V bug and you'll convert as much as you can. Smiley

Edit: I notice you keep referring to your voltage as 110v and 220v. Have you actually measured it with a multimeter? The standard in Canada/USA is 120/240. Unless you're living in Detroit or something you should have a full 240v at your panel, not 220v.
1469  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Miner Error on: February 05, 2015, 07:54:12 PM
1.2-1.3TH/s is very low for an S4. Make sure your firmware is up to date: https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=00720140930114518599JXGHWWD80660

And slush allows you to specify your share difficulty, you should set it to 2250. With that, you should be running at 2 TH/s.
1470  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: PDU on: February 05, 2015, 07:45:37 PM
Get whatever is cheapest on eBay or Amazon that suits you. I like my PDUs to have an LED display on them that shows amperage being used, but they cost a bit more.
1471  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Need help about mining on: February 05, 2015, 06:30:54 PM
No problem. For that price you'd be looking at an S3 or S3+. You may be able to find something used for cheaper.

Good to hear! Seriously considering doing this with my 10 blades. Could you list the materials required by any chance? I'm decent with a soldering iron.

Having not followed Lyra2RE at all, what kinf of % increase is this over the public kernel? Wondering if this might be worth firing up a few 290x/290 cards for.
1474  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: cgminer doesnt recognize my block erupter sapphire on: February 05, 2015, 05:56:48 PM
Eh, I wouldn't bother if I were you but try bfgminer. It used to recognize them automatically I think for me back in the day.

No, you can also buy ASICs from Bitmain. They sell Antminers

Hope your rig is OK!
1477  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: February 05, 2015, 04:09:11 PM
No, that would be the S5 or SP20E. The S4 can apparently be made as efficient as they are by underclocking/undervolting, though.
1478  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Need help about mining on: February 05, 2015, 07:27:48 AM
Ok if i buy ASIC's where to buy it? and what is  the cost of that machine ?

butterfly labs , cointerra , gawminers , zeusminer ,

you can buy miners from these maker !
but you from PAK i see the shipping will coast much! and there are crisis in Pakistan you cant run your miner for 24hours i think ! good luck bud

Are you serious?

Avoid all of those like the plague. If you want asics, your only good options are Spondoolies and Bitmain.

well i just give the names those who make or sell the miners !
BFL are the biggest scammer in the industry, Cointerra are bankrupt and also scammer, gaw resells used hardware, and Zeus is basically useless.

On, your only options are Spondoolies and Bitmain. I avoid cloud mining, so I can't advise you with that. Cloud mining is mostly scams.

You won't be able to mine bitcoin with a laptop unless you have a time machine unfortunately. What gpu is it? You may be able to mine some sort of altcoin, but it definitely won't be worth it. You'll make pennies if your lucky, but most likely lose money to power costs.

A laptop on doing nothing idling or Web browsing for 12 hours a day consumes nothing compared to the power used when mining. It could use 5x more power depending on your hardware.
