1462  Economy / Economics / Re: Isn't Fiat the Real Ponzi on: November 01, 2023, 06:28:26 PM
Fiat only reduce in it value of purchase both you have something to quantify with what you have in fiat but Ponzi is as good as scam. With Ponzi no value is placed but anguish, fiat can be made more valuable by more investment and diversification is a sure way to help reduce the harsh effect on you. Don't rely on Ponzi because it is all a bubble waiting to burst but fiat always will have something to measure with.
Correct. Fiat is not a Ponzi, it only reduces value due to inflation but is not a form of Ponzi scheme. The way Ponzi works is by definition completely a scam where if you are not caught holding worthless fiat when everyone realizes that fiat is just useless paper, not much different from useless paper. But so far fiat is useful for transactions within a country. Yes the way fiat works is a little bad at the moment because creating new money to pay back old debt promises sustainable economic growth. Hence the presence of bitcoin as an alternative to fiat.

Moreover it is not the problem of fiat but the government that fiat is inflated. Government policy affect fiat and government know the right kind of policy to implement that will boost fiat more and get it stable and not inflated but most times government shy away from those policy. Again when there is war here and there it tends to cause some negative outcome to the economy both for the individual economy and global economy because different countries have contribution to deliver in the world economy and when this begins to drop because of the war it also affect fiat. So fiat is not a Ponzi and Ponzi is scam.
1463  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: High expectations as we de wait for di coming ATH on: November 01, 2023, 02:36:04 PM
ATH na certain for every halving season after 4 years, no think am. In fact e dey be like say this next year own go make sense because bitcoin self no gree drop unlike before by this time price go don dey come down but this one e still dey push up small small. Person wey no fit buy btc make the person try buy better altcoins at least top coins go still follow btc bull. So if na to DCA now e go still help to gather the coin small small. If person buy 10,000 own every two weeks from now till at least February for person wey no too hold cash, that will obviously help or you gather 100k put now because I think say we fit leave this price range anytime.
1464  Other / Politics & Society / Re: No Bread In Gaza - Killing For Food Will Start In Two, Three Days on: November 01, 2023, 10:52:01 AM
Looks like you were off by a couple days but in fact it does look like killing for food is now the norm over there.
Palestinians will never do that. Please, check your facts /.

Anyway, I also saw the video of that statement. I think what that depict is that the war has caused serious hardship in the Palestine territory making food a very scarce commodity. Of course that should be expected with the continuous bumping going on in the area. Hence that is a call for humanitarian support and not that human beings would take the life of another person for food. At least I believe it won't get to that, aids will come in at least from the arab countries.

1466  Economy / Economics / Re: Biting more than i can chew. How can i do better? on: November 01, 2023, 02:58:37 AM

The main reason I'm sharing this topic is to get your own opinions and advice so that I can do better. I believe it's because of poor financial management that I've fallen to this level. I've been doing things that I now realize were not the right things to do because I don't have any financial stability. Last week, I felt ashamed when people see how frustrated i am because I had bitten off more than I could chew. I'm open to opinions and helpful insights to start again, but this time in a more stable and responsible manner.

The good thing for you is that you already know what your problem is because it would have been bad if you couldn't trace where it all started for you, so now that you already know it is half solved.

My advise therefore is continue with your work and soon another big client will locate you and when you get back on your feet be wiser. Invest more and keep away friends that won't contribute meaningfully to your life. Be prudent with your finance this time around.
1467  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: November 01, 2023, 01:45:58 AM
Like it is said, if you are a responsible gambler then you will see those benefits. A responsible gambler to me is someone who takes risk as far as he can afford and that already is a benefit because your mind is at peace whether you lose or not, you already taking the right step to be cool with yourself afterwards and that can help you relief stress instead of adding to it because of high staking risk that will increase your blood pressure when lose or even while the bet is going on.

I see the health benefit as what is imbedded in us to do as right thing first before that can come to us. For example an addict is not going to have such benefit because he is always restive with betting but a responsible gambler sees it as a game and games are made to help us relax.
1468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most you have ever lost in one session? on: October 31, 2023, 08:12:43 PM
I'm not a high staker so I might not be able to point to a certain lose that is painful for me. You can remember a lose base on how bad you feel about it. But I remember I have lost some good potential winning price that later didn't succeed either the last game failed and that has happened different times. Although it doesn't bother me because it is not my staking capital but potential winning price.

Talking about your loss, that is really big to say but I also believe you win very big too if you can lose such amount of money.
1469  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: BUA reduce price of cement. A new strategy to end monopoly. on: October 31, 2023, 06:14:05 PM
The moment I saw this I was thinking it a fake news I still saw a reduction of price in one shop my mom was showing me because we bought over 30bags early this month to floor our house but as of yesterday the prop went down now like this we await the fuel price to come down too I pray so.

I'm yet to get this information. Like did the price of cement reduce d? When did that happen because as at today the price is still where it is at 6,000+ depending on where you are located. So where is the link to the information that bua has cut down their price that will be a good news because every thing is expensive and not looking to drop any time in the future.
1470  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What to do with 1 BTC as a Nigerian on: October 31, 2023, 03:47:49 PM
If I get 1btc wetin I go take am do na to hodl am for my wallet first so that it will appreciate for this bull wey dey come then if I hodl am to double it, I go back out and convert am. Then immediately if I get land I go begin build on it at least a storey building or two. Then if I no get land, I go buy and begin build something on it. But if na to use the money go dey do business for this kind economy, that one no be better decision. Na to build and put for rent be the best now.
1471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on staying responsible. on: October 31, 2023, 03:23:23 PM

There's always a big risk when you step inside gambling. If you don't have the right sets of knowledge and if you are aggressive in trying to recover your losses, expect that worse will happen and you may go far into addictions.

That's the worst approach anyone can take to the gambling arena. A case of vengeance over what you have entirely no control over. It's like chasing the wind, then your emotions loses its rationality and then you spend all you have, damning consequences. Budgeting helps a whole lot.

Taking away anger is surely a good way to control our emotions while gambling. There are at times you get angry about your loses and you want to damn all the consequences to throw in all the bankroll and if you do that there is no guarantee to win but you regret it afterwards. The best measure to take when in a lose is to walk away and expect to try again at the next time but if you continue staying there, you are likely going to keep losing at the game.
1472  Economy / Economics / Re: Marketing Strategies in the Digital Age on: October 31, 2023, 02:35:19 PM
The advent of jet age necessitated the the for further collaboration and with the information age which has made the world a global village. The world has moved from traditional setting to a more sofisticated way of life powered by technology. So every other aspect of life has to naturally fall in place, even the villages that were seen as villages during the industrial revolution are no more villages, things have changed.

The very means of traditional mode of information through letter writing has fast disappeared. Nothing has stayed stagnant including business and investment that have all moved into the digital space, so it is natural that means to advertise and payment should also metamorphose. Now we have cryptocurrency and bitcoin playing the optional role of traditional payment.
1473  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Nobody dont like war but it Will expanding only one reasons on: October 31, 2023, 01:09:18 PM
Even if you say that people don't care about the signs that triggers these wars, they can't do anything with that because it is their leaders that are acting and making decisions.

Whether these innocent people tell that they don't want to go to war but if their leader and its alliance is pushing them to be in, these poor innocent people can't do anything with that.

This is the reality that only the leaders are being satisfied on these triggers.

Thats why leaders should learn ti listen to their people especially theyre the ones who put the former to their positions. It's a sad reality that many innocent people are affected by decisions made by their leaders, often without their consent or control. If they listen, they wouldunderstand how war impacts families, jobs and communities tht arent just in the books and it helps avoid impulsive choices. Wars are serious business and leaders need to know if everyone's up for it and if it's really worth the cost.

Going to war is the problem of ego by the leaders of the countries. Today I watched on aljazera the bombing still going on in Gaza by Israel and the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu saying seize fire is like surrendering to Gaza and he was blaming Palestine for initiating the first in the first place by bombing them. So that seem like an ego that is leading the leaders to continue to fight even when seize fire has been advocated.

People do care about not going to war but those who give final command are the problem. Likewise, there have been series of protect by Russians in dispora for Putin to stop the war against Ukraine but that has not been heeded to, so the people care but the leaders ego don't allow them to stop.
1474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Little Advice For Gamblers on: October 31, 2023, 12:12:15 PM
Also equally someone has said that this is also how some bank managers get rich from monies locked in accounts that are not traceable for a long time, they assume at a point that the money has lost and they do away with it within themselves. Well how true this is may yet be proven but there is element of logical reason on that because some men don't disclose there accounts, properties home and abroad to their spouce nor brothers and no one close actually. I have known some cases where some men die and the wife is not able to trace belongings of the man both financial and material.

So this topic is another clarion call for the living to try and disclose certain securities of our business to trusted and loved ones. Regards to cryptocurrency, passwords to exchanges or casino, we can start by at least writing them down in different exercise books despite that we fear fire outbreak but perhaps something can be safed. We can't live in isolation just like that because we want to keep everything away from third party. If that guy wrote those password down in an exercise book in his house or alerted someone where he stores his security codes, surely they would have been able to unlock them. It is unfortunate.

Like it is said, a wise man learns from someone else mistake.
1475  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why gambling beginners must not joke with casino announcement on: October 31, 2023, 11:13:03 AM
It's absolutely true that new players almost never read ToS.  And even more so, they don’t read them carefully and understand the intricacies of different points of the rules of playing in a casino.  But it’s probably not worth scolding newcomers for this, because most of them just want to start playing quickly and automatically, without thinking, click the “agree” icon.  Also, of course, newcomers to casino gambling do not place large bets in the first hours of their game.  They still try to play with a smafl amount.

I, too, when I started gambling, I absolutely remember that I didn’t read any ToS, but just wanted to start playing.  And I kept putting off reading the rules until the next days.  Then I really began to read, and not in its entirety, but individual points that I considered important for me.

I guess this is something not limited to Casinos, ToS are hardly read by anyone whether you are opening a bank account or installing a Windows operating system. The main reason is ToS are so lengthy for people to read in short duration, majority just prefer to press 'I accept' button and get started. We only start paying attention to these terms and conditions once we are struck on some issue and support representative says you already agreed to these terms.

We are very right in this and blaming it on ourselves but truth be told some of these websites have a very long ToS for people to read and understand and that is the problem because we want to do fast to job into the game thinking that particular time is the real profit time but unfortunately it will still turn out to be losses.

However that customers don't heed to reading terms and conditions before signing up, I would suggest casinos can make concise and yet capture what is needed or select a few important conditions and make them bold for customer's attention to be drawn to it or, making the important once as ads reminder while you login in and playing.

1477  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Come wetin we see about some Nigerian youths wey use smoking do work of they lif on: October 31, 2023, 08:42:11 AM
There are several reasons why people smoke and the reason is best known to them and I no wan condemn anyone as I already know say reasons differ but still smoking for the sake of wiping away poverty or brokenness isn't a tangible excuse for smoking especially  cigarettes but I think I've read about some health benefits of Marijuana which is mostly consumed by the youths a d I learnt it also helps to reduce depression and I think you can research more about some health benefits of Marijuana and cannabis and I believe  say we no go really condemn this weed we dey condemn like this.

To add to wetin you yawn, people wey dey smoke don talk say weed dey make Dem reason well. I remember when dem interview mountain black and mad melon, nothing wey you no go hear about how weed take good and dey help give dem inspiration. Some weeders don also talk say e dey help dem sleep without hangover the next day and say e dey make Dem eat wella. Them say wetin make people dey misbehave and cause trouble when dem take am be say dem no dey eat and if you no eat, the thing dey worry the brain well well and if care is not taken the person go enter kolo levels.

However, that of ciga, me I never hear of any health benefit for that one if no be say your lips go dey black and your lungs too go dey affected according to wetin we don read about the effect of cigarettes smoking.
1478  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: One crazy thing that most Nigerians do that affect our savings over time on: October 31, 2023, 05:51:54 AM
No be lie say if you recharge physically for recharge card stores say you likely to save money by that restrictions of going up to the place and you are likely to buy lesser amount or restricted to send to people but at the same time na all about discipline and planning. If you hold yourself back from sending card to different people just because it is convenient from your account like that, you go save more.

So na you still chop your money whether directly through your mouth, your phone or you send out to babes  Grin. If we no control and spending into things wey dey reasonable, na so money dey go be that. However, once in a while we suppose show love too no lele.
1479  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Aside bitcointalk, what do you do for a living on: October 31, 2023, 04:57:02 AM
Omo you talk better thing for here ooo,  some people have taken this  forum activities to be their full time job and for me, its not entirely a good thing because if for example, you're out of campaign, how do you survive before getting another one?. This should be a side hustle and there should be a fallback plan that anybody in the forum should have prepared, in case of any necessity. Its a serious act of laziness to have only forum activities as your day to day job. You should however think of acquiring a  marketable skill that you'll fund with your income from the forum and have it as another stream of income.

Also, a word of advise to my fellow aspiring full members, better have a job to sustain you for the time being. There's no length of time projected to  attain full members rank, it can be shorter, or longer depending on your luck and level of quality engagement.

I'm a web developer, graphics designer, hardware engineer and an ICT trainer.

You get point for the thing wey you talk. And anyway na for newbies and other new people for the forum to know but I believe most members for here get other things wey dem dey do before dem enter here and if you check am say here dey make more sense, you go harvest and carry go your farm na. To diversify make sense, so you can still dey run other stuff offline too as you still dey push here.
1480  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What according to you should be the age to retire from gambling ? on: October 30, 2023, 09:23:34 PM

Actually the weak gambler only retired at their old ages, because they don’t have any good funds for their survival of the game. The old age people doesn’t have money most of the time because of not saving their funds at their young ages.Saving the money at the younger age was the important for the young gamblers which help to make the more games at the old ages.I had come across many gamblers who’s age are more than 60 and all of them was holding the huge assets and big bank balances. The gambler with less knowledge will play the game at the young age and doesn’t hold any money for the gambling at their old ages.

I also feel that the reason that old people would gamble is for additional money basically. Those who are old and receiving enough money from children and pension will not indulge in gambling because they really may not have need for money as such that what they have can't take care of. Basically, I have not seen an old age man gambling and moreover those few that I come across with are not rich but struggling old men.
