1481  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 10 tips to manage one's emotions while trading crypto. on: August 03, 2023, 06:59:29 PM
To be a successful trader one must understand the relationship between the mind and body. You need a calm mind to trade. If you have gone out the previous night for a drink and you return to have a heated argument with your spouse, children, siblings then you decide that you want to set at the table and trade, you have actually missed it. At this point your emotions are all over the place, mentally, physically and biologically you are not okay enough to trade. Meditation will help to bring your emotions back to it normal stage so that you can have a good trade.

I like everything written by the OP the only part that should be mentioned summarily is that to manage your emotions, you have to be  biologically ok.
Trading is a mind game, and certainly not a game of emotions. While emotions are sometimes inevitable when trading, but if you aim of a more successful and productive trades, don’t trade with battling emotions. That is why once you are in doubt, hatred or anger or with high emotions, never decide to trade, otherwise, you cannot give your full concentration and focus on how to make your trades become profitable. Trade only when you are in your best self, and as much as possible, trade only without the fear of losing.
1482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just Another Good Source Of Motivation For You ... on: August 03, 2023, 01:23:00 PM
This is a common attitude of every person I know, even myself is not an exception. Maybe that’s because we are not perfect and that we don’t know everything that others expect us to notice and learn especially in high risk asset like bitcoin. So having doubts and hesitations at first is very normal. And once we feel that, perhaps it’s a sign to study about it first so that we will know if that investment has high potentials to succeed or just like any other investment that is only good and profitable at first and may lost its value afterwards.

Knowledge is power. So invest in yourself first and be knowledgeable as you can. That is the only way to avoid making regrets from your wrong decision making.
1483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best Altcoin for this moment to accumulate right now? on: August 03, 2023, 12:55:44 PM
I want to find a good Altcoin to invest in before the bull starts, also have a non-custodial exchange. This means, that we have complete control over our funds. If there is, please help convey it, because a lots of new altcoins was born every day.

It's great that you understand that new altcoins are born every day and there are literally thousands of them. That's why always avoid investing in altcoins. Because most of them will have no value in the future.

For me, the only altcoin I have invested in ETH. They are the pioneer in smart contract world and no one can beat them. So my portfolio contains only ETH and Bitcoin. No need for a third one to be honest.
Ethereum is actually a good choice, but never expect that it will be as profitable like bitcoin when bitcoin halving is finally around. From the world itself altcoin, it’s just an alternative coin if you want to diversify your investment aside from bitcoin. However, seeing the market becomes more unpredictable at the moment, I cannot risk my money investing even in established altcoin. Bitcoin is enough for me. If ever I want to diversify, maybe not anymore in the crypto world but most likely in physical investments like real estate or gold.
1484  Economy / Economics / Re: Can your passion lead to an increase in your net worth? on: August 03, 2023, 12:36:06 PM
I think you need to be very lucky person if you are becoming rich through your passion. Selling something as business is very hard comparing to working at full time job and receiving a wage. You need to learn a lot about markets etc to make money through your passion. There are many people that lost money following their passion. I even personally know one relative who needed to close down a shop. I wish I could do same but I can't exactly afford to lose so much money.
Well, I believe those who have experienced financial breakthrough in their lives are not just all about passion and hardwork, but luck is also a crucial factor in becoming of what they are today. Without luck’s presence, you will not be in your position right now. Nevertheless, passion is also very important in achieving your life’s goals but you also need to blend it with knowledge and skills, perseverance and consistency, and most of all the willingness to take calculated risks that will eventually bring a lot of positive changes in your life.
1485  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: For newbies and plebs who want to self-study to become "traders" on: August 02, 2023, 08:59:46 PM
My advice - BE CAREFUL

Investment and trading books, articles and videos are made by people who might not actually be winning traders. They make their money by writing "investment materials" and sell it to us, the plebs.

Plus "as traders", most of you will lose money and leave. Some of you might return and lose more money. Some might have learned their lesson the hard way and just HODL Bitcoin. The few who actually put in the most time, effort and who are well-capitalized might make it.
Yes. Be careful at all times. Trading is not a get rich quick scheme that you need to be obsessed on it. So trade at your own risk. And when you trade, acquire knowledge and valuable information first and make sure that you are getting them from reliable and legit sources, and not from random crypto influencers that pretend to be expert in trading when in real life, they are losing a lot from it.

Trade in the best way possible but never chase for consistency in profits as you are trading in a very volatile and unpredictable market, which means profits are not guaranteed in the first place.
1486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 18, holding my bitcoin and looking forward :) on: August 02, 2023, 08:28:06 PM
Good perspective mate. Accumulate bitcoin now and benefit later. You can always get a job that suit your skills and get btc payment if you want. Just explore the market so you will know those available jobs meant for you.

However, you should have known that even the government cannot stop bitcoin from existence. Most of the government now are still against bitcoin, but look at bitcoin now, it’s price even growing despite of the cold treatment from the government. But I also believe bitcoin will eventually be accepted in the long run, the process may be long but it’s certainly worth the wait.
1487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 02, 2023, 06:32:03 PM
Lakers is considered to be a dark horse as well, if I'm not mistaken, of course some of the core is back but still, a ageing Lebron and then injury prone AD? Still not sure how far the Lakers can go in this season.

No matter what happens to them in the Lakers this season, they have already done their job and won the championship because that's just all that it matters when you are with the Superteam trying to be a contender in the NBA league. It will be more amazing when they can get back to the NBA playoffs this season because they easily made a great run last season and also beat the defending champion easily. The worse thing they did was signed Westbrook despite having multiple stars that can help them with the championship again last season.

But some fans are saying that what they did was not enough because the last time they won the championship was in the middle of Covid pandemic where they had in-house games with a lot of rules to prevent Covid-19 from entering the league, moreover, at that time, NBA was still at an experimenting phase and not all players did play just like the usual season. Anyway, people have been divided when it comes to the topic, but yes, a win is a win and nobody can take that from them.
1488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitconnect : learning from the past. How is it possible to invest life savings ? on: August 02, 2023, 04:20:39 PM
And yet it's happening all over again. People don't seem to learn from the past.

Things keep on repeating because new people to the industry are naive, lazy, and greedy.  We all know that not many people are familiar with things so with their inexperience, they failed to determine which one is a scam or legit.  Others are too lazy to research their investment and just rely on hype and buzz created by news and influencers so they often fail to know that they are entering traps.  Worst those people who had experienced getting scammed failed to learn their lesson and keep on blindly trusting people that offers them too good-to-be-true deals and were possibly too greedy to stop and think of the situation they are getting into.
People get scammed again and again mostly because of their greed and ignorance. And so they become more gullible especially to those persons whom they feel has more authority or having high positions believing that they can never do harm to them. With that mindset, scammers will easily take advantage on them leaving them regretting in the end. And this scamming will never put to an end if there are still people who are still not afraid to be scammed.
1489  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading tips that helpfull for beginners on: August 02, 2023, 03:38:01 PM
The problem with some beginner traders is that they usually think that trading at a bigger capital will also gain higher amount of returns. That is a wrong mindset since you can’t expect that trading will certainly be profitable in the end. The reality is, the bigger money you trade, the bigger amount of losses will be. Unless if you become a professional trader, you can always increase the size of your trades.
The beginners who think it will be effectively using bigger money, probably they don't learn enough about crypto trading. If they learn properly, they must understand that it is better to use small money first. Every beginner must focus on learning, know first how to trade in a proper way. But for the beginners who don't really care about learning, they can be greedy because they are too obsessed with big profits. They may not realize about the risks in trading, they only think about the potential profits.

That’s certainly the reason why most beginners are not advised to engage in trading because they don’t even know how to start trading at a small amount. They often think that if they trade with small capital, the profits will not be worth the risk. But the reality is, all beginners should start trading at a smaller amount so that the risk of losing will be somehow manageable. Otherwise, if they conclude trading at a huge amount, the chances to lose is very high so once they trade and lose, they might find it hard to recover their losses and might not be capable of trading once again.
1490  Economy / Economics / Re: Reason why you will never become rich on: August 02, 2023, 12:14:24 PM
Having a lot of responsibilities may sometimes deprived us from enjoying life at its best. Simply because instead of  saving and investing our money to those who have potentials for future growth, we end up spending them so we can fulfill our responsibilities to our parents or siblings. However, I really believe it’s just a matter of money management and self-motivation to take some calculated risks if it’s what going to give your life a big financial break. By not being fearful and be more greedy to grab opportunities that come, then eventually you will achieve financial security in its perfect time.
1491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beginners, you don't need Bitcoin first on: August 02, 2023, 11:40:05 AM
You don't need Bitcoin first, What you need is a JOB, work on that first.
The point is that finance is not forbidding it, but limiting it and making sure to make any decisions based on numbers, not emotions. I understand a little what the OP said, and I think it's not only newbies who have to carry out suggestions like this, those who are not beginners should also implement a system like this. Because bitcoin is an asset that is used for investment if you don't have a job, how do we start investing? by way of debt? this will worsen our finances.

The mindset must be changed, don't buy Bitcoin expecting to get rich in a short time, but buying bitcoin means we are ready to lose money. Therefore, what is needed first is not to buy bitcoin, but how do we find work, that way 30% of the money we get from our new job buys bitcoin in stages every time we receive a salary from work.
Well, there are also some instances that we get to invest in bitcoin because we received huge amount of money from our inherited assets, and not from our hard-earned money from our job. I think that is a good mindset too, trying to diversify your investments and not just letting your cash sleeps in the bank. However, in case your investments do not worked as planned, and all your savings have started to run out, then you should land a stable job that will sustain your needs before all your investments and hard-earned savings will be gone. But if you can get a stable source of income in the first place, I guess that will help you grow your investments without the need to sell your bitcoin whenever its price suddenly crashed.

1493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 30, 2023, 09:08:15 AM
So let's give credit to Crawford as he cemented his legacy with a big win here. First boxer to become unified champion in 2 weight class, another record though that can be emulate by Inoue if he beats Tapales next.
Crawford's punches are very accurate, and even those short counters could really hurt Spence. Now he has proven that he is stronger than Spence, and that fight also justifies that Spence was really ducking Crawford. Although we saw how strong Spence is because he was able to last, in terms of boxing skills, Crawford has the edge, and he deserves that win as he made history.

Speaking of history, I think Inoue is going to be the 2nd boxer to become undisputed in 2 divisions, that is when he beats Tapales in an undisputed fight.
1494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be play with care on: July 29, 2023, 05:15:03 PM
And indeed, that is the reality that we must accept so that we don't become addicted to gambling. We can only risk the money we can afford so we don't have to take excessive risks and experience too many losses. If we can do it well, gambling will not be able to tempt us because we can spend money well and without having to experience gambling addiction like other gamblers. Setting limits and trying to maintain those limits is an important thing that should not be forgotten so that we don't experience big losses and also avoid gambling addiction.
But in fact many gamblers lose control even if they set a spending limit on the gambling budget. The average gambler gets addicted and forgets that they have ruined their own plans for fun, that's because the orientation of their game has changed to multiply money with wins.

It is not easy to control yourself and your passion for gambling especially if you start thinking that you will win x amount on the next try, it is a temptation that often makes gamblers lose more money. Some will chase wins to cover their losses, but most still fail. So in conclusion, gambling is a game where you run the risk of losing money, so gamble as much as you can afford to lose and don't gamble for money.

A lot can happen once you are already in the middle of your activity and it will be a matter of who got the strong mindset to initiate their plan correctly, and that is to leave the table regardless of the result. Most gamblers will ultimately fail if they are exceeding their limits specially if they are already enjoying the game and felt the good pleasure of winning, at that point, they are already off their supposed course because of the fact and will soon start too realize that they are already beyond the lines if they have lost everything.
1495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 28, 2023, 07:15:25 PM

For the incident happen to Bronny provably many teams will avoid to take him since cardiac arrest is serious health case which teams can't risk to give him a contract sue to health issues. And it seems that we can't really see the most awaited father and son duo in Nba, maybe for this incident where Bronny is in serious troubles maybe we can see Lebron retires as his plan didn't come up and he don't have anything to prove anymore. Just want to see some miracle comes and there's still a chance for son of Lebron to have a good comeback and can still able to play good basketball together with his father or if not still land on Nba.

Let's not make it a big deal; instead, let's be positive. Let's trust the process the team will follow because he will not be included in the NBA draft if he doesn't pass the physical exam. What if what happened isn't that serious, or there's a cure for it?

Bronny has been anticipated to play in the NBA, although he isn't as good as his father. But with LeBron's influence, there's surely a team that will draft him. However, with what happened recently, some fans may be doubting his chance to make it to the NBA.

Yeah, it's a mix reaction for now, others are relieved to hear that he is out of danger and kudos to the staff who tend to him. On the other hand, I read some news that it might be the end of his career. However, I'm taking it with a grain of salt, perhaps just like crypto, it's full of FUD and negative news for click bait article.

In any case he is still capable of playing in the NBA, and if I'm not mistaken he has shown intention for a draft, so he might be in the next draft class and for sure there will be teams that are going to pick because afterall, he is still the of Lebron and they want to make history in the next couple of years, as the first father and son in the NBA.

Yes, these articles released about Bronny James's situation are not really helping at all because instead of bringing a positive and real news, they instead bring some doubts to the public about his future in the NBA just to gather some attentions from the crowd. A click bait article to be exact.

Furthermore, it is still too soon to have a conclusion towards his future in the NBA because almost everything are still unknown at this point, let's just be thankful first that he is now discharged from the hospital and is now resting towards his recovery. I guess it is safe to say that his future is still bright as the sun.

May good news tayo mga kabayan. Si JC ang maglalaro sa Gilas para sa world cup at si JB ay magiging reserved player.
Ito yung balita ~ Jordan Clarkson confirmed to play for Gilas in FIBA World Cup

Good news ito!

At sa karagdagang news para naman sa isa nating kabayan na si Kai Sotto: Kai Sotto beats Gilas deadline, set to participate in FIBA World Cup practice

1499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you quit that's when you lose! on: July 24, 2023, 06:31:34 PM
A catchy one-liner might be somewhat encouraging when you are feeling depressed over your losses but it is not foolproof logic. Not quitting won't make you impervious to losing. Instead, you might actually end up with even bigger losses. Walking away is always difficult because you never know what would have happened if you continued playing but at least you can leave with something instead of nothing.
This is part of a healthy mindset where we don't have to continue playing when our gambling budget has run out, that's why it is necessary to have thoughts like this sentence, we will never know what will happen if we continue to play and are provoked by emotions that make our self condition even more out of control. for example when we experience a losing streak it is best to stop gambling before spending all the money.

Gambling must know when to stop and when to play that's why never gamble if you can't do that, because control of emotions and yourself is very important so you don't fall deeper into experiencing a crushing defeat, winning doesn't mean you have to beat the gambling machine but winning against our emotions and greed to reduce losses, after all stopping playing gambling doesn't mean losing.  Wink
The more we chase back our losses, the more we lose. And if we can't control our desperations and continue gambling thinking that the next bet will be our luck, that will lead to overspending and we just realized that we got empty. I have had an experience like this before but that time help me realized that we should not fall addicted to gambling because that will ruin our mindset and gambling limits. And many gamblers suffer from this situation because of wrong assumptions and thinking.

And that's the very reason why that kind of encouragement are quotes are being created, to boost you up and try to push you to keep betting and try your luck, but like what you have said the more you try the more chance of losing more money, instead of recovering since you are unsure whether your next bet will allow you to win or it will be the same outcome.

Losing is tough and keeping to chase your luck is more tougher. It's not always going to back you up, better to quit than to regret
when you find yourself empty-handed.

Moreover, there is no sense in chasing what is already lost because gambling itself doesn't guarantee you that you can really get it back and let's not forget that in the first place, our chances of winning is much lower compared to our chances of losing. Even before we started our bet, even if we thought about it careful, our chances will be the same and the upper hand will not belong to us because that is the reality of gambling.
1500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 24, 2023, 05:57:11 PM
If anyone of you was not aware, the Japanese are known in using psychological warfare before the fight to cause more anxiety to an opponent who is already suffering from anxiety because the fight. They used this against Nonito Donaire in his rematch vs. Inoue. It was rumored that random people would knock on Nonito's door every hour who are pretending to be fans to prevent him from sleeping. There were also other issues like not allowing Nonito's gloves to be used and other little problems like no chairs, no water available in his locker room.

Really? I didn't know that Donaire experienced such problems on his way towards their second encounter, hopefully it wasn't Inoue or anybody in his camp who ordered that because it's so messed up if that was the case. What I mean that it was just the fans who made those foolish actions to the Filipino pride and Inoue didn't knew anything about it.

Quote
However, it appears Fulton's team is very smart. They are using the Japanese tricks against Inoue's team so Fulton can rest and concentrate only on the fight hehehe.

Let's see if which one of them is more problematic on their fight night because I'm sure that one of them is affected by it. Remember that some random Japanese man offered Fulton a cake, nobody knows if the man was just idolizing Fulton or he got another motives and that is to destroy them mentally. This is gonna be fun! Grin

I heard of that and you know it's unfortunate that Donaire had to go through all that troubles while he is approaching his revenge fight against Inoue, but none of those claims were proven by the way because there is no evidence presented in the first place. Besides, I don't think that it was on Inoue's orders because I believe he can win fights without scathing his name to this kind of propagandas.
