@Luke-Jr I can't get my USB block erupters to work on bfgminer. I run Gentoo & they never show up in /dev/ttyUSB0 the way you keep saying it does, I have done everything I can think of & than some.
Well, there's something broken with your install, because they should appear as /dev/ttyUSB* - they do on any Linux/linux-based OS I've seen, even on OpenWRT. Do you have the VCP drivers installed?

This isn't a virus or keylogger.
Says the person with -8 trust. Err....no.

Going by the post, probably not - took 7 days for something on Special Delivery from Amazon to arrive here...

Cool. I'm excited, and I'm not even in this shipment.

I tried my Pi off a similar charger (the LG one that came with my Nexus 4), and it didn't work very well.

I have at least one EU person who is seeing 120 volts on the ring of his jally power supply to ground. Either his picture is lying, or 120 volts is on the ground plane.
It's not the problem you think it is. There might well be 120V there, but there's probably insignificant current. If there were, the RCD or RCBO in the house's electrical system would trip. If you read the thread that photo came from, this is exactly what happened. The PSU killed the circuit and it needed to be reset to bring all the various household appliances and things online. The problem was traced to the PSU. This measurement was taken when the PSU was powered on, plugged up to the Jalapeno but not to the host PC. Connecting it to the host PC caused the circuit to trip, and with a potential like that between the ground, I can see why! So the PSU had a fault. ANY PSU can have a fault. I've had brand new, out-of-the-box Apple laptop chargers that have died, same with Dell, and HP. But, my sentiment still stands, just because there's mains potential between the output ground and mains ground, doesn't mean there's a fault, or that there is a danger.

Can you list the output of lsusb?
I'm also wondering if there's an issue with power on the Pi? I run mine off the "high power" USB ports on my DLink 7-port hub, which in turn is running off the 5v output of a 750W PSU.
I have mine plugged into a power strip using a USB->AC adapter. Good? Bad? Depends on the adapter. I'd be wanting to use a good quality one of at least 1A. Here's the output of lsusb:
Looks OK to me...

any suggestion?
Use a better translation service, because what you posted is meaningless.

Does anyone care by the way?
No, because you're making a mountain out of an ant hill. Please stop spreading FUD.

You don't need to do any of that crap. Just swap the supplied Whooflugdung PSU with something better, be it LiteOn or whatever, or run it off an ATX PSU like I do.

nwoolls, are you still running the Pi in USB2 mode, or USB1.1?
To be honest I'm not sure. I don't think that is anything I ever changed. What do you suggest? Can you list the output of lsusb? I'm also wondering if there's an issue with power on the Pi? Pocket billiards is my favourite.

How about the mixing and apparent interchangeability of "their", "there" and "they're". That grinds my gears.

I'll still be mining for a long time to come. I'm just about to add another 40GH to my existing 32GH. Power is essentially free for me (6.5kW PV array on the roof, which makes enough in a month in the summer to run the mining rig for a year).

I think April 2015 is more realistic.
I ordered a pair of Jalapenos back in June. They took 5-6 months to deliver.

As above, your config looks fine, as long as the IP of your PC is indeed 192.168.1.2 - also make sure the firewall is either turned off, or set to allow connections to mining_proxy.exe on port 8332.

i cannot for the life of me get a brand new beaglebone black to find hidapi when configuring bfgminer tried all solutions i could find and still nope :/
Did you actually install hidapi? You have to install it first, before installing BFGMiner. Details are on the README.txt on the hidapi git page. I tried to install it myself on Ubuntu Server 13.10, but it wouldn't compile, so I'm missing hidapi at the moment myself.
