The NBA's board of governors approved the sale of the Charlotte Hornets to a group led by Rick Schnall and Gabe Plotkin.
Michael Jordan sold the Charlotte Hornets for approximately $3 Billion. He bought it for $275 Million in 2010.

Not bad I would say. Michael Jordan himself already gained a lot of profits since he bought it way back 2010 for a much lower sum and then now another $3 Billion in sales after he sold the franchise towards the new owners. Apart from that, it's still a win-win situation for the G.O.A.T. himself because he will still be gaining profits if the franchise's worth will again grow in the next few years as apparently, he is still a minority stakeholder in the franchise.

May mga posts akong nakita na sumali daw si Kai sa practice ng Gilas, di ko sure kung sumali talaga pero present daw at may balita na din na lumabas na lalaro siya sa Gilas. Gandang balita nito para sa akin.
Kai Sotto ‘fully expected’ to join Gilas’ World Cup buildup

1503  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you consider moving abroad? on: July 23, 2023, 07:14:54 PM
Being in another man's land is not a joke because we all have different norms, and it will definitely affect the person's life. It will take some time before the person starts adapting. and the decision has to come with preparedness in mind and with resources so it's usually difficult if you want to make such a decision, but sometimes it favors. In my area, where the system is failing and life is getting harder, one will undoubtedly be pushed to make such a decision, if not for a better life, then at least to get one. Life isn't easy anywhere, so I don't blame anyone who leaves for doing so, all is for a better life.

If you live in developed country like USA then moving to new country will defiantly not an easy thing. But if you are from a third world country where things are not organised then moving to some developed country wont be a difficult thing. I am from Pakistan and things are getting worsen here for last 18 months, due to this reason there is massive outflow of man power to other countries. People are migrating not for fun but to earn more or to have a better future.

Sorry mate but I don't disagree with the part where third world countries are not organized because I'm also living in a country in Asia that is also labeled as a part of the third-world countries. Yes, it may not be the same with the modern and advanced countries in Europe and in North America but third world countries have their own advantage and disadvantages too, just like any other country. It will all depend on your situation and what field you are in because not all answers can be found abroad as living in another country will definitely be a struggle no matter how decent and modern that country is.
1504  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 23, 2023, 06:52:39 PM
This fight is already right around the corner and considering that the fight night is just a few sleeps ahead, I don't think that Fulton will be giving up this fight so that it will be postponed or something like that just because of his baseless accusations, although he might not be the one who is accusing but I know that he's behind this drama and he's just using his coach to deliver the words for him.

He better improve his defense if he doesn't want those punches to be flying through his body and face because if he's not ready for this fight then I guess we will witness another TKO or KO coming from Inoue.
1505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - July 29 on: July 23, 2023, 05:27:48 PM

If I were to collect opinions from boxers so I can use them in my betting analysis, I would avoid Shakur Stevenson, Tank Davis, Jermell Charlo, etc. Tank Davis is not just handled by PBC and Showtime just like Spence but both are very close friends over the years. I would be more interested if Tank Davis shows us a $5 million bet on Spence if he is really that confident, see if he is willing to risk around 10% of his last fight's purse. Or news that says Tank is now willing to stop cherry-picking and fight the real dogs at 135. Shakur and Haney are waiting for this cherry picker to grow some balls. Grin

Anyways, I already had a 1.77 ML bet on Crawford weeks ago. Thought of adding some but the odds are becoming more favorable to the turning 36 Bud Crawford.
These boxers are wrong most of the time when picking the winner. It could be just a statement to mislead us, but what's important is that we trust our own prediction based on our analysis. At the end of the day, it's still our money at risk. That 1.77 ML odds is already good if you are confident enough that Spence will win, but if you aren't too confident, then I guess Spence has better value.
I never include other boxers' opinions when it comes to my analysis too if they are friends with the other boxers they will go for them even to the point of favoring them for a knockout win, and if they have a quarrel with the other boxer they will show it on their opinion, and besides we have videos of their past fights and their records, from there we can do a comparison on how well they will perform, but on this particular fight its hard to favor one over the other, you can go with either one and your chances could be good or bad.
This is the kind of fight we all wanted to see two undefeated champions who fight dominantly in the ring, I think both fighters are now in Vegas we are now waiting for the press conference and of course their face-off, everybody's waiting for this.

Which is valid. There's no reason why you should be influenced by someone when picking a pick, as there are other resources
that you can use to weight your decision.

In terms of this upcoming fight, both are highly dominated type of fighter and with how we witness
them inside the ring, it will be difficult to predict which will be better for this upcoming fight.

It will be depending on the performances that they will be going to show coming from the preparation
that they've prepared to execute. It's your own take to risk here. Both fighters are capable of winning.

In this type of fight, analysts and boxer's opinions are quite biased specially the latter because it's either they have been defeated that is why they are choosing the opposite side or they are a friend which is understandable why they are favoring Spence or Crawford.

So, you see, we cannot really count on them because in the first place, it's not their money whom we are betting with, it is ours and so we have to choose it personally and not because of what they are saying. Yes, our bets may somehow be biased specially if we are looking up on a certain boxer but we wouldn't be in that position if they are not that good or strong which impressed us.

Celtics, Jaylen Brown to renew discussions on potential richest contract in NBA history next week, per report
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/celtics-jaylen-brown-to-renew-discussions-on-potential-richest-contract-in-nba-history-next-week-per-report/
Quote
Brown can sign a max extension worth $304 over five years
Why? He ain't the Lebron of this era. Not Steph Curry too.
My curiosity about teams who will agree with such a huge contract will never fade. He is a good player that is given, but I always think such a huge amount is for the caliber of players that are in the top 10 of the MVP race. Looking back, he ain't there.
I just don't know why as well, and I hope that the Celtics will not give this kind of contract to Brown.
Not even the possible GOAT Lebron James had this huge contract on his whole NBA career. Not even Steph Curry who is the greatest shooter on NBA. What can we call Brown? The biggest flop in playoffs? Cheesy

Anyway, I just hope that the Celtics aren't that dumb to give him this contract because he doesn't deserve it TBH, and I know that many here will agree on what we said. He's just eligible for this kind of contract because he "barely" got to the All-NBA team last season. He's a good player like you said, but he's not in the levels of Lebron, or Steph, or Durant, or even with Kyrie, or even with his teammate Tatum. He's below all of them, and yet he's the one who is having a discussion regarding the "possible" largest contract in NBA history.

Aside from Lillard, and Harden drama, maybe let's add Brown to the list as well. Cheesy
That's too much if we base the standard on LeBron and other stars, but the management has seen that Brown has been one of their stars, so they want to keep him. It's their decision, so I guess they know what they are doing, as they wouldn't throw $300 million for nothing.

Brown have showed what he is capable of, the Celtics which came rebuilding were having a success with Brown and Tatum, so they'll stay with a good contract.

But thing about Brown is he already hinted last season that he will be moving to another team if they cannot have any impressive comeback or achievements, unfortunately, the Celtics failed to participate again in the Finals as they lost to the Miami Heat in the conference finals and almost got swept too. So, I think that Brown will just vacate his position in the Celtics in the upcoming seasons regardless of the amount he will be signing with the Celtics. I sure do hope as well that the Celtics have thought about this so well.

Numbers are out of the Garcia vs Davis fight, and it was reported that it made $100 million.

https://twitter.com/RyanGarcia/status/1681758159889891328

And then Ryan Garcia made $30 Million ++, Obviously Gervonta Davis made more $40 million ++. So the next superfight is Spence-Crawford, and so we will see how big the money will be for them and maybe it's hard to topple the numbers that Garcia-Davis did here.

We should hope that those numbers would encourage other good fighters of boxing to negotiate deals and fight each other hehe. Another fight that I wish should collect a good amount of money is the superfight between Inoue and Fulton. But it appears not much people are very excited about this except for boxing fans.

Also, the fight will not be on a weekend which is strange. Why did they not make Inoue vs. Fulton in Las Vegas? It would certainly collect more money there than in Japan.

That would be too much too ask mainly in this era where politics are more important compared to the figures that they could get if they give the people a fight that they wanted. It would be an entertaining fight for sure if that will happen but again, it's just too much to ask.

For the Fulton vs Inoue fight, I'm sure that Bob Arum already considered having it in Las Vegas but considering that they chose to make it in Japan, that just means that they are generating more revenues compared if it will happen inside the US.

Hehe it is difficult to disagree, however, it might stop being too much to ask if the ratings of MMA will begin to be higher consistently and surpass boxing. Why should they wait before this? Also, these fighters in boxing should not put unfair agreements in their contracts and force their opponents to sign. It drops the value of the sport.
Well, I sure do hope that it will happen though so that boxing will be forced to be more creative and more entertaining but as of now, they are still enjoying the situation while the sport is still at its peak and that is why it is not surprising anymore that there is a lot of boxers nowadays who are big headed especially if they are already famous.

Yes, I am talking about Tank's rehydration clause for Ryan Garcia. Why does Tank care what Ryan weighs during the fight?
Most probable answer for that is that Tank Davis doesn't want to give up his advantage because he knew that Ryan Garcia will be difficult to face if somehow he can recover those weights. Although it's not a guarantee that it will happen where Garcia will be more dangerous but it is understandable that Davis just wanted to be on the safe side.
1508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Beterbiev Vs Smith AUG 19 2023 SATURDAY IBF / WBC / WBO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT Title on: July 22, 2023, 07:37:08 PM
So now that Canelo Alvarez had signed a 3-fight deal with PBC, Bivol was hanging without an opponent. A pursuit of unifying the belt against the 3-belt holder Artur Beterbiev is in the picture but I wonder if both networks and promoters agree to a deal. But the longer this plays out, the more Beterbiev is disadvantaged due to his age so there is also the possibility that Top Rank and ESPN may not really want to match them unless Bivol can be signed by Top Rank.

DAZN and Eddie Hearn should let Bivol have a 1 or 2 fight deal under the exclusive rights of Top Rank and ESPN if they really want to happen it ASAP. The WBC is all about money so greedy Sulaiman can cancel or make an exemption on its nonsense ban on Russian fighters when given the right amount of cheque.

Well, to be honest, I pretty much hope that WBC will be bribed easily and that the right amount will do the trick to make the undisputed fight into reality before Beterbiev starts considering his retirement. I mean, the man is just a few years away from being a 40 years old and before his retirement phase, at least he can have that fight because it will be total waste if he will retire without having any chance of cementing his legacy.

If there will be no pressure from someone above, I think they can get the WBC's approval with the right figure since they are the only ones who are making a stand to stop the undisputed fight from happening. Other than that, both camps can begin their negotiation and it will be a smooth sailing discussion as long as Eddie Hearn will let Bob Arum to organize it as the latter have the right to demand because it is his boxer who got more belts to offer.

WBC should start to look on the bright side and just accept any offer that is presented on the horizon, there's no need for them to enforce these pressures because in the first place, these Russian boxers have nothing to do with what is happening up North, they are just a private individual who seeks a better future inside the boxing industry. It would be unfair if they will still enforce it these days as that's just like the same as racial profiling, sadly.

Bob Arum already said himself that the undisputed fight will not happen this year because WBC is still not inclined about it.
Link: https://www.boxingnews24.com/2023/06/dmitry-bivol-vs-artur-beterbiev-wont-happen-this-year-says-bob-arum/#:~:text=By%20Sean%20Jones%3A%20Top%20Rank,current%20ban%20on%20Russian%20athletes.

That is a sad news because we are hoping that somehow this year, they can make a slight negotiation about the said undisputed fight while also working their permit with WBC in the safe side. Among the four sanctioning bodies, only the WBC is making a stand and while the remaining three seems inclined towards the fight because it's a nice paycheck for them.

And Bob Arum said he is in favor of WBC's Russian ban which means he is not also willing to make the fight. I honestly, do not get it, Bivol is an individual fighter, it's not like he is a billionaire or a hundred-million-dollar guy that is remitting huge sums of money to his native homeland. It doesn't make any sense and good thing the other 3 sanctioning bodies and even the UFC the leading MMA organization are not making a ban on individual athletes that needs to earn a living. I even doubt Beterbiev himself is not remitting money to his native Russia where 99% of his relatives and lots of friends are still there.

It's just hypocrisy, especially from the WBC, a known money-first and corrupt organization. I wish they never recovered from that bankruptcy when they lost a case many years ago.

Beterbiev is a nice guy but an upset win by Mundo is good for boxing as I am pretty sure Hearn is willing to pit him against Bivol for the undisputed belts.

Everything that is in regards with the undisputed fight in the light-heavyweight division is quite blurry as of the moment and just like what is said above, there is no signs as well that it may happen this year or even next year because while there is still a tension between Russia and Ukraine, Dmitry Bivol is still banned to participate such big fight.

And for this Mundo, no offense but I just don't think that he got some skills and the right capabilities to be the first one to deliver Beterbiev's defeat in his career. Eventually, Callum Smith will just be a mere additional to Beterbiev's list that he got KO'd.
1509  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 22, 2023, 06:27:43 PM
because every system in the casino is made by humans, there is no such thing as perfect, so gambling sites often have difficulty detecting whether those playing on their sites are adults or children, even though the gambling sites already require KYC because now there are many ways to manipulate KYC.
Implementing kyc can’t stop minors from gambling, the only thing I know is that it can reduce it, their I no way gambling sites can completely fish out under age gamblers using their website, their are lots of way which kyc can be manipulated, and their are still lots of casino sites that those not require kyc before using them, underage gamblers are given free opportunity to gamble because I don’t know any way which minor gamblers will be fished out, so am sure underage gamblers will rather prefer to go for gambling site’s without kyc.

based on what I know, even in countries where gambling is legal, when casinos get a license they must obey the rules set and allowing minors to gamble is a serious violation so you must report to the authorities if you find minors gambling.
I don’t know if their will be any gambling site that will intentionally allow minors to gamble, because they know it might end up causing problem for them, so they are also trying to fish out the under age gamblers which they noticed, but we all know it’s not possible for all to be discovered, their are still some that will really be smart that gambling sites won’t be able to discover that they are underage gambler.

In reality gambling sites are too many which is many of them don't have licensed which means they are not too strict and even minors can play with them they won't Ask KYC so that many minors can access their sites and play. Like what you said mate if the gambling industries want to lesser the minors got involved in gambling then all they can do is to ask KYC in their every player in order to know if that player is an adult or a kid.

Right and we cannot blame them if they are evading the licensing because that is quite expensive and besides, almost all of the casinos are after the same thing and that is to gather clients as much as possible to gain profits as much as possible. It's just these unlicensed casinos don't have to ask for some KYC because there is no need for them to filter the ages and it doesn't matter to them whether if their clients are still underage or not. The only thing that these licensed casinos are asking for KYC is for the sole reason that they have to enforce it legally.

It would be a huge disappointment if this bout will not happen just because Stephen Fulton chickened out, many things have surfaced now and it seems that he is indeed scared to fight Inoue and have his first loss in his career. Well then if that's the case, he could've vacated the belts already and fought in the next weight class even before the bout has been made as that would save not just his own time but to the opposing camp as well instead of making such stories and headlines like this while the fight is already near its schedule.

Me neither, if they can set back their superiority, they could blend well but if not, then I can see they will change a team again after or before their contract expires. That is the problem of a so-called super team and the cons of stacking-up superstars in one team thinking it's a good idea. Not realizing, not all superstars can give way.

Blending superstars are a tough challenge for the team, the players itself needed to work together and build that trust with each other.

This is always the case on doing this kind aggresive build on team. Superstar alternative has an established and will always play for their own sake(not for the team). They are gathered from different team that they are leading that’s why it’s very hard to sync this kind of players to work as one.

Creating a superstar team like GSW and Nuggets is different to forming a team with superstars. NBA team usually focus on shortcut that's they are wasting money on paying star player that doesn't peform as expected.

I think James is the only player manage to become successful on doing this because he is in his prime before.

We cannot hide the fact that the NBA teams are much more interested in making a championship caliber team by acquiring players that are already known and famous by their own style instead of investing towards a player(s) that came from the bottom until they will all improve. Biggest example for the is the big three of the Golden State Warriors and the roster of Boston Celtics who fought the Warriors during the 2022 Finals.
1513  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbies can't profit from crypto without knowing how to trade. Truth or Myth? on: July 21, 2023, 10:34:21 AM
Newbies are never allowed to trade in the first place, unless they have gained enough experiences that will hone their skills and strategies in trading. However, since newbies would find it hard from profiting in trading, then investing on the other hand is a safer way to help them accumulate some profits. Regardless if you have gained experiences or not, as long as you always invest for long term goal, provided that you have the good mindset and patience required, then eventually making profits would will still be possible. The only reason why people never achieve good profits is that they are greedy enough to expect quick returns and decide to sell even when the price is still not reasonable and impressive to sell.
1514  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Crypto may go wrong for some people on: July 21, 2023, 09:31:33 AM
Because not all people have the same faith when it comes to crypto. Some are just trying their luck and greed, and expect instant profits but when crypto fail them, they all end up accusing bitcoin as a big scam. While others have established faith in the first place, and continue to educate theirselves until they’re all ready to venture into bitcoin while expecting more losses at first but few gains. With this, we’ll know from their course of action who’s most likely to be successful and who’s not going to.
1515  Economy / Economics / Re: What are some financial secrets that you know of? on: July 21, 2023, 09:01:48 AM
There's no secrets. If you want to get rich, or as I prefer to say it to improve your economic situation, do it simple, slowly and boring.

Save an emergency fund, get rid of consumer debt, increase your income and then invest, reinvest and keep reinvesting.

That's it.
That’s true mate. There are no secrets to success and being wealthy, everything comes with a long term process that also needs the right mindset and the positive attitude to keep it going. Just avoid all forms of debt, focus on what you need rather on what you want, do not rely on a single source of income but have some side hustles, and never forget to enter into potential investments and re invest everytime you are in profits.

Seeing a lot of people are still doubtful and suspicious about bitcoin, then I have to say that not everyone is liking the existence of bitcoin. Some have embraced it with so much eagerness while others dare to never trust bitcoin in the first place. So it’s a certain fact that bitcoin is not for everyone. However, let us know that even if bitcoin adoption will not be granted easily, but knowing bitcoin has high potentials to succeed in the future, then it’s value will never stop growing and it’s utility case will also be more useful in the end.

Newbies should never jump teaching their co-newbies when in reality, they also need to be taught at first. Instead, they should focus on acquiring sufficient knowledge about cryptocurrency and how it’s market moves. In the end, newbies will never be forever newbies. As they increase their knowledge and skills, they also level up with their position. Maybe that could be the best time to teach, as long as they have those valuable things to share to those who are interested to learn.
1518  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Things that influence our trading decisions on: July 19, 2023, 08:44:02 PM

I think emotion is the greatest problem of a newbie trader. We all have gone through this while starting up but because of experience we can now discuss it as something not very serious but emotion is very serious and need to be put in perspective. One of the ways to work out the fears or emotion is to learn good money management. We fear of our emotion because we don't want to lose our money, so in the same light, if we use stop loss we will do better. However, this is difficult for a new trader to totally leave out emotion while trading because sometimes an experienced trader has same fear.
Perhaps, it was the greatest enemy for us but it is usually happen to newbies. This is one thing that we have to focus on how to manage well because even though we have gained a high level of knowledge and skill, and experience but still we can't manage to control this stuff, it was impossible to reach our goal. And I'd never find it difficult if we really wanted to succeed and have profitable trades. In fact, as we can see, a lot of people get into trading and fail and this is because of uncontrollable EMOTIONs.

Emotions are hard to resist because that’s part of being a human. And in everything we do, different emotions are always present. That’s why it’s difficult to control it even in trading especially if you are trading to make some profitable gains and to make your trades worth the risk. The reason maybe why most traders fail in trading is that they keep on insisting to stop their emotions, when in reality emotions can’t be stopped but can only be lessen or minimized.

sorry,I come from China,The following is translated by machine ,My brother has leukemia. I have already owed  30,000 US dollars. But my brother still hasn't improved. I finally got the bone marrow last week. The doctor said it would cost about 75,000 US dollars. My total assets are about 3,000 US dollars now. If I want to treat my brother. Is it too late to buy btc now?thank you
Sorry but realistically there is no way 3000usd can give you an ROI of 75,000usd, the time frame is unrealistic and anyone promising you such returns is a scammer. This is a life and death situation and is not the right time to make a bitcoin investment. Bitcoin is a risky investment and you cannot afford to lose any money in this situation you’re in. You will have to find another means to source for the money to pay for the bills.
I have to agree with this mate. Your brother needs immediate treatment for his health condition so you need more money to gain, and not to risk it in a volatile investment like bitcoin. Yes, bitcoin is a good and profitable investment but you can never rely on it on a situation like this. You have to create another means to support you on this matter, maybe you can ask some charity foundations or go find an additional job that will pay you good compensation.

Kamusta kayo?
