Sorry but not everyone is like you, looking for any opportunity to get merits.
I tend to think that people like you, the ones who spend so much time trying to find scammers are usually the biggest ones themselves. They know all the tricks. Why else would you waste your time on such a task?
You're not doing this for the forum lol, you're doing this for yourself.
Weren't you in red a few days ago btw?
I wonder how easily people start judging someone else when they see a red tag. Don't blame me for your failures. I earned every single of my merits except the very first 4 merits.

FYI while I was composing the entire OP I got red tag in-between. In-between the time I also did other stuffs as well - responded the topic, updated this topic, again updated this topic, PMed hilariousandco (my time is BST) once I noticed the red tag then I posted the OP. UP FOR A CHALLENGE to prove me wrong? Call a global mod who has access to see edit history, draft history.

it's out of your league, assuming you have never volunteered for a community or place you like. Not everything in our life we do for a return.
1522  Other / Meta / Re: Require a small amount of merit to become a Junior Member on: July 14, 2018, 11:10:45 AM
Topic spamming could be done with a system that once a topic hits 5 (or whatever in x time from the post date) reports it gets invisible for the normal users until a moderator takes action and either sends it to the garbage bin or reinstates it.
You are talking about more workloads for the mods. We need a solution which also does not require more works for the mods.

If you look around then it's pretty clear that (possibly) we do not have enough mods to control these spammers. It's the number battle in-between the spammers and the mods. And because of not having enough resources and numbers for the mods,  unfortunately they are losing.

If you are in then I am out (!) coz I don't think not only me but anyone else will have a chance LOL

1524  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: cryptonbets: Unique approach - Just saved $50 on: July 14, 2018, 10:39:09 AM
I've received similar msg to help some guy to withdraw. And to do this I need deposit $25.
So, if the deposit amount has changed in your case then the person is developing the site for sure (admin) and trying to trick people with different initial amounts to see which one works best. Everything else on the website you are seeing (other users) are just auto bots IMO.

Somebody, please help me how to create a EOS wallet.

Go to myetherwallet.com and enter a password that would be hard to guess (but which you won't forget!).
.
.
Press 'Create New Wallet'.

Click 'Download Keystore File'. Be sure to read and understand the warnings.

It's very important that you back this file up somewhere safe (think multiple external hard drives and/or USB drives that you put somewhere safe).

Once you've done that, click 'I understand. Continue.
.
.
.

Hope this helps. Welcome to the BitcoinTalk forum.
1527  Other / Meta / Re: Do you consider this as begging? on: July 14, 2018, 09:53:46 AM
Call Jet Cash, he will make you think 100 times, and create a thread about it, and ask if its okay to merit the person accused or not.  Grin
Did you just pocked Jet Cash  Tongue

There are people much worse than this guy here, they are sending PMs to high ranked trusted members for merit. That is what begging would mean, this is not begging.

You could just PM him (or her) and tell them it's frowned upon and that they should consider removing it. I'd rather it there than in posts though. It's not begging I don't think, just as people who put their bitcoin address in their PT and ask for donations or whatever. Nobody will probably give them merit just like nobody would send anyone bitcoin donations.
I guess you guys have a valid point especially when pugman said about the PM sending. That's completely begging.

How about this:
I would appreciate some sMerit if this reading gives you some value.
Please keep in mind that the date was February 02, 2018 which is only 8 days after we had the new merit system announced. (Few weeks ago, it has been deleted and the post was updated)

How to sign a Bitcoin address to prove ownership (archive): Thanks to shorena for the awesome tutorial.

Well, this is depressing.
The only thing you can do is - keep bumping the topic after every 24 hours and hope an admin/mod notice it and unlock it. There are no such time frame unfortunately. Good luck mate.
1533  Other / Meta / Re: Require a small amount of merit to become a Junior Member on: July 12, 2018, 08:49:25 PM
At the same time, bots, spammers and scammers will give up if they need to have for example 75 Merits to move from Junior to Member (while Activity and Time also remain taken in account).
Most of the times I noticed these bot/spammer accounts are not caring about ranking up. They are posting to bump a topic or creating same topic to advertise whatever they are trying to promote here. So I do not think adding x amount of merit for whatever rank you don't want them to rank up is going to work. I hope you did not miss to read this reply.

Seems like your tool can identify the contents in-between (href=) an HTML anchor tag. Can you detect the contents of the topic title too? That subscribe was a topic content.
1535  Other / Meta / Re: Why the trust is not shown in all sections. on: July 12, 2018, 08:06:21 PM
There'll be a button on the admin panel and probably a few checkboxes that Theymos/Cyrus will have to click but probably not much more than that.
And how about the if-else statements or any other logical expressions that needed when you call the button and the checkboxes  Grin Also provably the specific table in the DB that contains the section information may need an extra column too to categories the sections, we just don't know  Cheesy

Or the default SMF already have these checkboxes and button on the admin panel  Tongue

Jet Cash has SMF for his fittotalk may be he can enlighten us a bit about the default settings for trust or feedback whatever they call it in default.
1536  Other / Meta / Re: Require a small amount of merit to become a Junior Member on: July 12, 2018, 07:43:24 PM
3. Newbies and probably Jr. Members too should no longer be able to bump threads. They can post, but the thread won't move to the top.
This is a completely new idea and seems like it WILL be a good one to experiment. Since these Newbies and Jr's can't make the bump happen eventually they will stop however this is not going to stop them creating the same topic from different accounts. They do very good job, just look at their timing...

Allowing x amount (1 like hilariousetc is thinking or 5 like seoincorporation is thinking or whatever) to become a Jr - could also work but again since the number will be very less (<10), the farmers can easily manage it.

1537  Other / Meta / Re: Why the trust is not shown in all sections. on: July 12, 2018, 07:12:32 PM
Firstly I want to mention that it needs almost 0 extra work, you described everything very exaggeratedly.
May be technically I am wrong but not sure if you are right too. We both don't know the code structure of SMF so actually non of us can give the correct answer.

Don't worry about wanting to be a damn idol around here. All it brings you is bs anyways. Gaining a big reputation just means more people are jealous and out to try and ruin you. Basically be careful what you wish for
Thanks yahoo62278 for your constructive view in here.

I realize that it was an idiotic move from my side. Sometimes we do end up looking like an idiot - lack of experience/high ambition/excitements these sorts of stuffs led us to do idiotic acts and it is obvious that showing interested on that topic was the most foolish move I ever took. I will try my best to convince hilariousandco to reassess the situation and to review the entire Ponzi Promoting accusation topic against me.

Also, to be frank, his trust history of trying to call out "merit abusers" is evidence he was trying to get unwarranted trust.
I found this is the root of everything. Like I said I made decent enemy here who do not like me. They always try a way to humiliate me like the OP of this topic did from his/her brand new account. It just make them happy a lot.

Quote
...it is difficult to argue that this is not a scam attempt.

It is like reading my mind based on your prior experience from others. I could prove to be someone totally different than others. Anyone can think anything about someone else since there are no one to stop him/her of what they are thinking about however it's quite unfair to accuse someone for something that they have not done yet. If I find someone done a bad act then I can call them out for that but I can not call them out pretending that I can read their mind since they haven't done that such act yet?

Thanks Quickseller for your feedback, I appreciate the added value in here.
