Thanks LoyceV (to pull the entire record) and thanks Paste.ee (All in one file)

Here we have the row data from LoyceV: https://paste.ee/p/3bO0H (All in one file)

The Data is:

  • Unchecked
    • correct link for the user
    • correct link for the staked address
    • Any missing entry
  • Single user have multiple entry

Goal: Check and sort the data Alphabetically (username).

Checklist
✔ One user one line. Place the older entries next to the the latest record (latest staked address by the user)
Format:
Code:
[url=profileURL]USERNAME[/url] ---  [url=PostURL]BitcoinAddress[/url] [color=red][b]OLD[/b][/color] [url=URL1]LINK1[/url] - [url=URL2]LINK2[/url] - [url=URL3]LINK3[/url] - [url=URL4]LINK4[/url]
LINK1 2nd latest - LINK4 oldest
✔ Check the link of the username
✔ Check the link of the staked address
✔ Check the editing date (if any). If the gap between original posting date and editing date is too long then have a side note. Like
Code:
[url=profileURL]USERNAME[/url] ---  [url=PostURL]BitcoinAddress[/url] ([b][color=red]last edited DD/MM/YYYY[/color][/b])

Data files: Total 23

------------ : ----------------------------------------: Assigned member : Checked file          : Status
DataFile#1: Special characters and no username
DataFile#2: Character A --------------------------: mdayonliner          : Checked File Cha A: Done: Link
DataFile#3: Character B --------------------------: mdayonliner          : Checked File Cha B: Done: Link
DataFile#4: Character C --------------------------: mdayonliner          : Checked File Cha C: Work in progress
DataFile#5: Character D
DataFile#6: Character E
DataFile#7: Character F
DataFile#8: Character G
DataFile#9: Character H
DataFile#10: Character I
DataFile#11: Character J
DataFile#12: Character K
DataFile#13: Character L
DataFile#14: Character M
DataFile#15: Character N
DataFile#16: Character O
DataFile#17: Character P
DataFile#18: Character Q
DataFile#19: Character R
DataFile#20: Character S
DataFile#21: Character T
DataFile#22: Character U - Z
DataFile#23: UsernameLess

DataFile #1 and #23 will be the most challenging job(DateFile #2 to #22 are comparatively easier). Whoever takes #1 and #23, they will check and sort those data alphabetically then load them in a paste file. The final output will marge with the checked files #2 to #22

Finally we will have all data in one paste.ee file.

In one post I figured we can have 302 lines. I will create a fresh new topic with 20 to 25 reserved spots once we will have final checked paste.ee file. I guess I can handle the rest anyway.

How to find any missing entry?
Requesting users to check their records are in the list (Please wait for us to finish the project). If your record is missing then comment using following format
Code:
[url=profileURL]USERNAME[/url] ---  [url=PostURL]BitcoinAddress[/url]
542  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal] Alphabetical order for Stake your Bitcoin address here on: December 27, 2018, 09:08:09 PM
~snip~
This is helpful format. Better take off the numbering. If the data is correct then we only need sorting.

It's late here. I will start tomorrow. In the mean time if anyone wants to check the data then please feel free. Also feel free to update the code and have a https://paste.ee of this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090133.msg48913467#msg48913467 I will update the code once I am online tomorrow.

If the Data from LoyceV is correct then the rest will be easier for us. All we need is the dumped data using above format.

It's 485 pages meaning a lot of workload. I really need volunteers to make it a success.

These are the difficulties:
- Giving a letter means whoever gets whatever letter s/he has to scan all the pages.
- Giving some pages means sorting problem. Say: Person a gets page 1 - 100 and person b gets page 101 - 200 meaning once they both done someone else need to do another sorting which will marge a and b's work. It more complicating then giving one letter to each.

I need feedback to pick the better option.

I am thinking of letter-wise work sharing. Thoughts please.

I am thinking - how about writing a script (using any language) which will take each line (from LoyceV's dumped data) as string and sort the lines by username? In that case, we don't even need to sort the list manually.

How are you planning to divide the work? Give each person a letter and ask them to find members beginning with that letter? Assign different pages of the thread to different people? like 1-10 10-20 and so on?
I'm willing to give you a hand, just tell me what to do. I wouldn't want to put in work just to find out that someone else was doing the exact same part.

549  Other / Meta / [Proposal] Alphabetical order for Stake your Bitcoin address here on: December 27, 2018, 02:42:36 PM
Other day I was working on grtthegreat's The BCT PGP/GPG Public Key Database: Stake Your PGP Key Here. Please have a look on the Previous version and the Current version

The arrangement for the older version was ranked based other than that there were no order (my observation). Problem was:

- When someone ranks up then it was hard to update the list because you don't know who is ranking up and when.
- Since there were no other order, it was hard to find a member from the list unless someone using Ctrl+F (windows)

So, I proposed grtthegreat an alphabetic order list which is the current version of course. I am glad that grtthegreat liked it and we are working on the project together that does not mean that you are not welcome to give us a hand by the way  Smiley

How about a similar list for Tomatocage's Stake your Bitcoin address here? An alphabetic order of all the staked address with their links?

Problem is : Tomatocage is not anymore regular in the forum (post history). We can turn this topic to list of staked bitcoin addresses which will be sorted alphabetically.

I understand it's a lot of work but I can give it a start. I would appreciate volunteers for the campaign. We can work together and create a sorted list and keep up with the updates when there will be a new entry.

Thoughts?

Format
Code:
[url=profileURL]USERNAME1[/url] ---  [url=PostURL]BitcoinAddress1[/url]
[url=profileURL]USERNAME2[/url] ---  [url=PostURL]BitcoinAddress2[/url]

Demonstration in my second post.

UPDATE1
I guess we have a plan now (Please read): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090133.msg48928160#msg48928160
Please share your thoughts.

Update2
Please feel free to join the campaign. I really can use to help: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5090133.msg48928160#msg48928160

In the end, it's just pure spam and it doesn't contribute anything to the forum, so I should just report it, right?
It does actually to some extent . People join the forum to participates in the bounties, most of them are spammers no doubt but from them you will find some of them become loyal members. I have seen a lot of the examples.

Quote
Or is this sort of stuff kinda condoned because it's contained within these bounty threads?

If you feel to report then do it but I think it's better to leave them there because those posts serving a purpose for the bounty participants.

A bit off topic (not sure): How about the script you were writing we heard from the PM of one of the member (qwk i guess)?

Not sure what you're referring to. One thing I'm working on (maybe for release in the first half of 2019, not sure) is a proper address-staking system. The main point of this would be to replace the current ad hoc address staking situation and safely allow opting out of any of: long-term IP log retention; email password recoveries; or manual recoveries. Automatic recoveries using a staked address is possible, but not much on my mind right now.

I was referring to that too. Here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4864633.msg43837185#msg43837185

Quote
We don't actually accept the profile field address unless there's some sort of proof that it's remained unchanged, for that very reason.

I'm working on a new address-staking system which will automatically handle signatures, etc. Might have it ready by the end of the month if nothing else comes up to consume my time.
Good to hear another new possible date by the way Grin

We've streamlined our processes, and Cyrus has put together a team for handling these cases, so account recoveries should now be handled at a reasonable pace again. Additionally, we will be somewhat more lenient in recovering accounts without signatures, though signatures often will still be required, depending on the situation.

If you have a locked account, send a new email to the @bitcointalk.org email address given in your "account locked" error message. (The email address changed a few weeks ago.) If you were previously sending messages to me or Cyrus, send a new email to the address here. We might try to go through the backlog of old-process recoveries in the future, but for now you should send new messages.

Sorry for the delay!
That should be okay knowing that very few people are dealing with it. This is something needed to be done long ago. I was having a feeling that something is going on when I saw this post (Recovering hacked/lost accounts) earlier today.

559  Other / Meta / Re: Can we regulate the trust system ? on: December 26, 2018, 04:57:41 PM
There are a lot of members who've been tagged just for making scammy offers.  Vod, for example, tags a lot of people who ask for loans with no collateral.  I tag account sellers primarily.  Neither of us have been directly scammed by the members we've tagged; it's a warning to others that the tagged member might not be trustworthy.

If I create a brand new account and if my first post is to offer a $100k escrow service or even the 10th or 20th post is to offer a $100k deals then there is something wrong. Since Vod was used for example then I have noticed most of Vod's tags are for a brand new account asking for no collateral loan. I am always saying when the crime is obvious then tag the user.

Quote
That's what happened in your case when you offered to escrow that insane amount and got tagged by hilariousandco, and it's not much different than what some DT members have been doing all along.
Like I said before when the crime is not obvious and you can not prove it then leave a warning. Can hilariousandco prove it that I was going to walk away with the 20BTC? S/he can't because the event never happened. A user may make a mistake, give them a chance. Warn for the first time. S/he may not realize the dept of the wrongdoing/wrong-practice. Warn them! If needed then warn them for the 2nd and third too. Leave a neutral feedback as the prove of the warning. Do it for the 2nd and third time too. If they don't listen THAN go for action. If a single tag from DT can destroy someones accounts then DTs should be very careful before tagging an account. A harsh tag is injustice for the member.

Quote
So given what I just pointed out, how is it you're now being "bullied"?
- Read some of the reply from AdolfinWolf on the topic. It was like I wanted to trade paypal £ because I know paypal is reversible and I am determined that I will do that once I will get the BTC. It's like he is reading my mind and throwing out even made up shit like paypal still do charge back even after 180 days.

- Another trusted member wanted to sell btc and wanted to have paypal. When I left PM he said nothing personal and he will do deal with only trusted members. Later I found he dealt with few 'member' accounts.

- I used escrow service from one of the very highly trusted member (several times). He wanted to sell BTC for paypal. When I contacted with him he said he will wait for few more offers.

Non of these would not happen if I did not have the highlighted warning....
"Warning: Trade with extreme caution!"

The warning means I stole or scammed more than a penny! Did I scam a penny from anyone here? I did not and I don't think I will ever.

That's demonstrably untrue--look at how many merits you've gotten.
I said some members think red tagged members should not ranked up. By the way, I do feel the impact. I used to receive merits from the boards which shows trust rating but after getting the red tag I am not receiving much from those boards.

If you're going to be honest with yourself, you never complained about the trust system before you got tagged.
I never did because I never realized the after effect until I had one. I was not wearing their shoes.

Do you think it's any less wrong if posted outside this forum?
I did not promote any ponzi in and outside the forum while I am a member of the forum. I left promoting those business long before joining this forum because I was sick and tired of their terms.

That's why you need to read the ratings and/or use custom trust lists
I am saying the same thing like the other member that custom trust list is not solving the problem. Feedback from DTs are visible to everyone and forum member's count the DT feedback only.

That's a problem with signature campaigns, not with the trust system.
Again since the DTs trusts are countable it's not only affecting to signature stuffs it's effecting when you are going to do any single trade. I never scammed anyone but I had hard time to trade my PP for btc because of the warning I have in my profile.

Warning: click to check user's feedback
May be this is a good idea (not red though, red looks scary, may be some other color) when the tag is not for a proven crime like troll, offering shady service, account selling, asking for no collateral loan from a brand new account etc etc.

For a confirmed crime like loan default, not posting products you paid for, reversing paypal once got the BTC etc etc keep the current warning text "Warning: Trade with extreme caution!"

Funny how people whine hard about the trust system and what they see as unfair trust by DT members who likely are doing their best to keep the forum clean, and yet they don't whine about the simple fact that Theymos allows scammers to use this forum however they like.  It's not against the rules to scam someone here, in case anyone here hasn't noticed.  If there wasn't a system whereby some trust feedbacks counted for more than others, how could anyone get a reliable warning about a scammer?
I don't think anyone is denying the fact that DTs are not necessary. DTs ARE the asset of the forum who are responsible to keep the forum clean from the scammers. It's a voluntary job they are doing and the community should be grateful to them. Mods are responsible to keep the forum clean from the spammer but the difference is - they are paid (I guess).

My question was, if I have never scammed a single penny from anyone then:

- How is the display of my trust rating is relevant?

"Warning: Trade with extreme caution!"

- Why people get scared and bullied me when I wanted to trade only £111 paypal? I have lost 100 times larger amount in this forum when I had my lending topic.
...a shady trade.

- Why some member think red tagged members like me should not rank up hence they usually skip meriting my posts.

- Yes I made a mistake offering an escrow of over $100k (I did not even know what is a 2/3 multi-sig, I was noob) and for that reason DT tagged me saying a ponzi promoter can not be trusted who offers $100k escrow? DT could have left me a neutral feedback without destroying my account. This should serve as a warning. DT could give me a chance for a mistake which did not harm anyone. Did I harm anyone by my noob offer?

- I got tagged for promoting ponzi (Even though I never promoted a ponzi in the forum).

DTs basically sometimes forget that one red could ruin everything for a member. DTs need to be careful when they make a decision to tag someone, no matter it's a negative, positive or neutral because your rating reflates the weight of an account.

Don't just leave a negative feedback based on your1 personal believe, if you brought up in a slam and other guy bought up in an elite family then life experience between you and other guy will be very different. Leave a neg once the crime is proven else leave a neutral which should serves as first time warning, may be 2nd and third too. Then go for a red.

1 means in general.
