15321  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Paper Wallet question on: February 07, 2014, 03:10:17 PM
Is there anything like this except for an iPhone app, I have looked but I cant find it.

I tried following the same steps but I couldn't find the address book!
Yes adam9317.
There's this Blockchain app available.
Here.

Thanks I have found this but is there anything with a guide on how to use this app with paper wallets.

Iits the guide I'm looking for Smiley

Adam

Doesn't it tell you on the above link? Just go to 'My Addresses' and scroll down to 'Scan Private Key'.

Brilliant thanks. Sorry I was just being a wee bit stupid.

Adam

Make sure you back up your coins if you’re just using the app. Apple has just removed it from their store.

They still should've called this Keisercoin. Is Max actually mining this? What's his involvement in it or has he just given the coin his blessing?
15323  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is POT illegal? on: February 07, 2014, 03:03:52 PM
Well.... its not over here in the Netherlands..  Grin

Peace!

I thought technically it still is illegal, but they just don't enforce it? Netherlands does seem to have one of the better ways of dealing with drugs and prostitution though. I like Amsterdam, it's a cool city.
15324  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why are BTC prices not moving ? on: February 07, 2014, 02:45:36 PM

15325  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is POT illegal? on: February 07, 2014, 02:44:05 PM
i've seen it happen in Dubai.  it could happen just as easy here, in the land of FREEDOM (what fucking freedom i'm afraid of leaving my

Dubai is a little bit different from America.

Several times I have paid for sex. I hope no one close to me finds out about that.  Grin

So have I, but all my friends know about it and I get girls either way so it doesn't matter

God knows and he is disappoint in you  Cheesy.

I've asked for his forgiveness many times, and he made me like this right?

Yeah, but you must do as he says because he's testing you.
15327  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why is POT illegal? on: February 07, 2014, 02:32:22 PM
I used to use it when my parents were cool, and were OK with a chocolate chip cookie coming from SR shrink wrapped in plastic twice.

But now all of a sudden they're worried about the cops, cause some guys in the bad part of town got caught trying to sell 12 kg of cocaine.

Getting my own apartment won't help, cause it's still illegal

what should I do?  even if I lived in Colorado it would still be I-L-L-E-G-A-L
due to the DEA

Are the DEA still busting people in Colorado? Do your parents check your mail? How would they know? Get it sent to a friends or something.
15328  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'm glad BTC is crashing on: February 07, 2014, 02:30:28 PM
For selfish reasons, I'm glad the price is crashing a little but it's always good to get people to "jump on the bandwagon", so to speak.

Anything that increases awareness can be seen as good and may even help in shooting the price back up.

What reasons are those? You wanting to buy more?  Grin. I'm sure it'll bounce back fairly quickly any way.

Exactly! And I'll be doing that sometime today...

But what if they keep going down? I've got a friend who has been waiting to buy back in as he sold his coins and has been stuck in dollars, but he never knows when to jump back in because he's scared they'll keep going down.

Sorry to hear your loss...  Sad
Maybe you should make multiple encrypted backups (one at external HDD, one at dropbox, etc)...

I'm not sure if Dropbox is the best idea, though I'd definitely go with external HDD. Even USB sticks you can hide.

I wouldn't feel safe having it uploaded somewhere, but I recommend backing up on several different mediums including USBs and CDs etc.
15331  Other / Politics & Society / Re: New York Police Department is beta-testing Google Glass on: February 07, 2014, 02:07:52 PM
Google Glass may soon become a favored tool for law enforcement agencies in the United States.

The New York City Police Department’s massive and controversial intelligence and analytics unit is evaluating whether Google Glass is a decent fit for investigating terrorists and helping cops lock up bad guys, VentureBeat has learned. The department recently received several pairs of the modernist-looking specs to test out.

“We signed up, got a few pairs of the Google glasses, and we’re trying them out, seeing if they have any value in investigations, mostly for patrol purposes,” a ranking New York City law enforcement official told VentureBeat.

“We’re looking at them, you know, seeing how they work.”

The glasses are currently only available through Google’s Glass Explorer program, in which people who interested in acquiring them first apply and then receive notification from Google on whether it accepts or denies their application. Respondents who get the green light must pay $1,500 for the privilege.

The news that the country’s largest police department is eagerly beta-testing Google’s products comes at a sensitive time for the company, given its entanglement in various intelligence-gathering efforts from spy agencies in the U.S. and abroad. Not that Google is happy about that: Google chairman Eric Schmidt blew a gasket when it was revealed that the NSA was routinely hacking into the company’s servers to spy on customers, as outlined in documents leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.

A spokesman for Google said the company was not working with law enforcement agencies on the project and that the NYPD likely acquired the glasses through the Google Glass Explorer program.

Is this essentially gonna turn police into Robocops that can immediately see the criminal history of anyone they look at?

15334  Other / Off-topic / Re: Movie Recommendation Station on: February 07, 2014, 01:52:32 PM
Anyone here fan of overindulgent movies like INCEPTION ..? many people say its overrated all i'll say to them is i'm sure you still ask people " What happens at the END " :p lol

It's not about what happens at the end; it's about what you personally think happened. In other words, are you a glass half full or half empty kind of person?

I'm a it depends on whether you're filling the glass up or emptying it kinda guy, so I don't know what went on haha. But I do think Inception is great, regardless of the ambiguity.

Just thought I'd post 5 more since some of you guys seem to truly want suggestions I listen to some of these when writing:

Blue Foundation - Sweep

I love their Eyes on Fire song but haven't heard anything else by them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IHFVn0sv14
15336  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Shall we make a bitcoin bank? on: February 07, 2014, 01:43:45 PM
The web wallets will turn into Bitcoin bank soon...

You might have a point. Will they start lending out Bitcoins to people?

I'm not sure how many people will stick with them if they did that, but I could maybe see them doing something like that in the future.

15338  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crowd Funding on: February 07, 2014, 12:38:10 PM
Is crowd funding on here permissible?
I have an idea for a website but it will be quite costly to make.
It will be beneficial to all users of all cryptos and for now at least, the service will be free. (May or may not change).
Am I allowed to make a post on here looking for funding? If so, which sub topic?
Obviously I'll explain the site in full.
Hopefully with donations, the site will be created in the next few months. (I'll be using the funds to hire a professional UK based developer).
Obviously the funders will get some perks of some sort.

Thanks

Yes, you can do it, but not sure how successful you'll be and people will be weary of you. As for what subforum, maybe Project Development https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=12.0
15339  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Apple removing BlockChain on: February 07, 2014, 12:34:47 PM
With Apple removing BlockChain from the App Store, what does that mean for the bitcoins in my BlockChain wallet? Will BlockChain always work on my iPhone? Should I transfer to another wallet service?

They'll be fine. Just don't reset your iphone and make backups of your coins asap. Pretty sure you can still log into your account on the website anyway though.

It seems like almost every other message is being 502 Bad Gateway.

Still? Forum has been running fine for me now, the problems were just during the Keiser launches.
