F**k it, just post it on Reddit, more people will share and see it anyway. traditional newspapers suck....
The NY Times is having a daily circulation of some 2 million. Do you think that posting in Reddit can achieve similar figures? If it goes viral maybe. Post it on reddit and ask for donations to get a full page ad in the NYT haha.

Sweet 21% of consumers would consider using Bitcoin.
Also never is a long time. I think in the 1970s at least as high of % would have claimed they would never use the internet and in the 1980s a similar percentage would have said they would never use online banking and in the 1990s a similar percentage would have said the same thing about digital downloads, smartphones, gps navigation, etc.
21% is actually a pretty decent percentage. Ask the same people again in a couple of years and I'm you'll get a much larger result.

Always glad to see more stores accepting coins. Hoping for more non-computing based sites though. nice to see. they should also add the btc logo at the bottom of the page.
Those logos are tiny!

Well 'early' is a bit vague. Zipzap were meant to be going live in the UK 'early' this month too, but nothing so far.
http://www.coindesk.com/can-now-pay-cash-bitcoin-28000-uk-stores/Bitcoiners can now pay cash for bitcoins at 28,000 shops across the UK, thanks to a new service set up by ZipZap.
The service enables people to head to their nearest ZipZap payment location, hand over cash and see bitcoins deposited in their wallets almost instantly.
Currently available via Bittylicious, BuyBitcoin.sg and BIPS Market, the service will go live with ANXBTC and ANXPRO next week, followed by Kraken, CoinMKT and BTCX.se. Ah. Currently available via Bittylicious, BuyBitcoin.sg and BIPS Market, the service will go live with ANXBTC and ANXPRO next week, followed by Kraken, CoinMKT and BTCX.se.
Customers simply have to log into their accounts with one of these companies and select the cash payment option, they then choose the amount of bitcoins they want to purchase and head to their local ZipZap payment location to complete the transaction. So it's not just as simple as topping up you phone. You might as well just use Bittylicious directly really.

I hate coconut.
Lol, why? Because it sounds like 'cock-o-nuts', and I don't like cock-o-nuts! I love everything coconut. Especially pineapple and coconut stuff like yoghurts or smoothies. Scam and scammers.

Managed to watch Conspiracy Theory last night, starring Mel Gibson. I think it might feel a bit too realistic for some of the members on this message board... Haven't seen it in years but I remember liking it. There was a few films Gibson had out around that time that I quite liked: Ransom & Payback, especially the latter.

Ubuntu apparently has a operating system coming out. I'd be interested in that as an option over android or ios etc.
It can be a more interesting solution, but it's a pain to choose, there will be few apps at the begining. And for ease of use, after iPhone, it will be hard Also, it will need some time before we know if the system is secure. Let's see what this give, but it's announced since a long time, and I still dont see Ubuntu phones Yeah, does seem to be a long time coming. I'm hoping it doesn’t disappoint. Are they actually bringing out a phone or just an operating system?

The strangers was pretty scary. Been out for awhile.
If you guys can get ahold of the documentary "bloodlines" you should check it out. It was pretty much banned everywhere, but super interesting
I've seen Strangers, i'll look into bloodlines, thanks Yeah, End of Watch was pretty solid. The writer of Training Day is good with police-related narratives though his upcoming film with Arnold looks alright at best.
If you liked Training Day I thought Brooklyn's Finest was pretty similar in style and a solid movie, also has Ethan Hawk Bloodlines is like a documentary on the bloodline that supposedly trails all the way back to Jesus Christ himself, and believe it or not there are a group of people who claim to have the actual body (entombed). It sounds really far fetched, but when you see the people that are interviewed, and the fact that a few of the people who talk end up mysteriously dead, it makes for a super interesting documentary. It is also weird that it has been banned like everywhere... Has it actually been banned though? Most films or documentaries that claim to be banned just use it or say so for publicity. And Bloodline was based on a lot of different hoaxes. Wikipedia is usually good at listing banned films and I don't see it anywhere in there. So who knows... Still sounds like an interesting way to kill two hours, though. I don't see why a film about the alleged bloodline of Christ would be banned. And if it was, then why not The Da Vinci Code too? There's quite a few other documentaries on this subject also.

I need to get out of the fucking UK, that's my reason for being a virgin >_< lol I've pretty much ditched any chance of a social life so I can earn the money to leave.
I thought you were a hit with the ladies? I think ditching the social life is a bad idea as that's pretty much the only way to meet women as they won't come knocking at your door.

Their website says: Please note that completion of our main website will be in early February 2014. It is early February now. Well 'early' is a bit vague. Zipzap were meant to be going live in the UK 'early' this month too, but nothing so far.

Yes obviously it said 1 BTC included, I didn't just blindly but the thing: A lot of people do just blindly fall for it though without reading the listings, but obviously this guy was just a scammer. I think other people were scammed by this seller on here as well. Seem to remember seeing that listing.

If at all possible, I'd love to know if I'm missing anything or if I'm ready to start posting as I normally would.
Are we also supposed to PM Bit777 on the 24th of February with the amount of posts we've made?
Thanks!
no need to send PM to bit777 on 24 February automatically you have your payment in your account How does that work? That sounds neat. Maybe the op just calculates and sends the payment himself without you needing to PM him. I guess a PM isn't necessary really anyway. seems like a heck of a lot of work How is it any different from the others? They still have to check the figures to make sure no cheating, unless they have bots for it.

everyday you can buy some new altcoins so it's never too late to get involved
Whats the point of buying most of the new alt coins?? Most will amount to nothing and are normal over inflated at the start because of hype, better to mine the new alt coins and sell wen they get a market. 42 is a great example of a massively over hyped coin that dived after markets opened. Most of these 'hyped' coins are just fraudulently traded to inflate their price and sucker newbies in.

As a scientist I find it fascinating that so many people are certain of the existence of space aliens. There is no real evidence to support this position yet we see that a majority of people here still believe. At the same time many well founded, even proven, theories are dismissed because of a "belief" they are not true.
I'm curious as to why. Why would someone believe in say aliens, when there is no science behind it? On what is this belief based?
I can't say why so many believe in aliens but here's another way to think of this: Life didn't germinate out of nothingness on earth, agree? Some single cell organism that eventually spawned all this came from somewhere in the great vastness we call the universe. Now, if you're with me (I think you are unless we've finally figured out how to create life), then you'll understand what I'm about to say.... While life on this planet being seeded from elsewhere is possible (Panspermia) there are several theories of how life might've came about, and one is life coming from organic matter: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abiogenesis, so I don't think we can agree that it didn't, but this is probably one of the questions that we'll never know the answer to and can only speculate on.

I really like apple products, but I consider switching to Nexus 5 as a phone because of their bad habits to reject apps with no explanations. (but I don't like android and google, so it's hard) Also, it seems that there are a lot more malwares on android phones than IOS, so I'm not totally decided for now. Ubuntu apparently has a operating system coming out. I'd be interested in that as an option over android or ios etc.
