1541  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Signals vs Own Analysis on: April 02, 2023, 02:35:03 PM
I think enough has been said about trading signal groups. Most of the time they're just a pump & dump group where the owner will buy some coins, put the call on the group and then dump on newbies like you. If you can't make an analysis on your own, using a bot to analyze the market is better compared to following trades. At the end of the day though, bot or something similar is just a tool. If you don't know what they're doing and what indicators they're using, you won't get anything.

Try to check out demo trading that is available on some platforms if you want to get familiar with some trading tools/indicators. You don't have to spend money when you trade there. After you're familiar with some of them, spend some time trading on an exchange or P2P market, if that is available to you. Trading needs discipline, you can't buy them with money, unfortunately.
1542  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance - a new problem on the horizon? on: April 02, 2023, 01:49:51 PM
I also have some money deposited here so my question is what will happen to everyone's money if the allegations against Binance are proven. Can those who have deposited money in this exchange withdraw their money?
If you're worried then I suggest you start withdrawing now. If you don't have other platforms to trade, maybe it is time to consider looking for an alternative. Whether or not they will users to withdraw after they got fined is a different question. My guess is they will allow users to withdraw, assuming they still plan to run their business normally in other regions and avoid backlash/negative image. Unless they do some dumb shits that prevent them from processing users' withdrawals, I don't think they will just close and run away.

However, now the world has changed dramatically.  Now regulators make many decisions based not on economic, but purely political considerations. Probably, the leadership of Binance is forced to cooperate with the special services of different countries, and this significantly increases the risk of criminal prosecution of the management of the cryptocurrency company and the presentation of property claims to it.
Hard to tell how much political interest contribute to the recent fines and prosecution, but I do agree that it should contribute to some extent, especially after the recent bank runs. There are so many spin articles trying to blame crypto for the bank collapses, so it is understandable that they enforce this further by suing other entities. At the end of the day, all of this doesn't matter if you never use a centralized platform in the first place, so I guess people should look into P2P alternatives from now on. CMIIW.
1543  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallet that allows Multiple Mnemonics on: April 02, 2023, 01:05:57 PM
Because of that I always recommend people create wallets offline which high spec PC (same as mining) to create a more powerful private key of course.
I don't think there is a direct relation between a powerful PC and a 'powerful private key'. As long as they use enough entropy to generate the seed, it should be more than enough for your daily purpose. You can go all the way with generating all randomization sources manually though, like what has been discussed there[1]. Do correct me if I'm wrong though, but I'm pretty sure nobody has ever told me to buy a high-end PC to create my wallet.

1544  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How to close a crypto exchange easily on: April 02, 2023, 12:56:12 PM
I think that one of the most important problems is the lack of guarantee of clients' money or the lack of separation between their money and the developers so that the money is spent for their personal interests.
Since some of these charges also revolve around the exchange ICO, I guess any exchange who do something like that in the past is likely going to get fined too. I don't remember if there is a law regarding those things when they do an ICO, but it seems like SEC is going all the way to make sure they can milk exchanges dry. Kinda hard to guess what's their goal other than enforcing more control and making sure they can gatekeep any US crypto business in the future. CMIIW.
1545  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Airbnb Crypto Project - Concept notice on: April 02, 2023, 12:14:17 PM
Other than Airbnb, there is also ShareRing which is probably competing with your project directly, although they do branch out to other stuff right now. That being said:
1. Why the need for a token? What does it contribute to the platform other than giving extra initial funds for the development and probably won't see any usage sooner or later?
2. Why is there a stacking, lending, dao program if your goal is to solve crypto rental market? I doubt any traveler would look at a traveling app and say "damn, this lending proposal is good, I should buy it".
3. Don't you think creating a third-party lending platform that allows users to pay their Airbnb or something similar with crypto is more valuable compared to this new, ground-up renting platform? If no, why? Is there any law that prohibits you to do this? I assume it would work like how people can buy gift cards with Bitcoin, even though the platform where they use the cards doesn't support Bitcoin payment directly.
4. I don't believe that people will willingly support and stay on your platform if it is not competitive. This "us vs them" mentality is not going to work if your platform is terrible, has no control over the rental house, doesn't offer protection, etc. How will you compete with Airbnb in its customer service department other than being friendly toward crypto?
5. I've seen similar projects in the past, with more or less the same proposal. They do an ICO and then close their business without ever producing anything. What is the guarantee that you will at least deliver some beta apps if you plan to do the same?
1546  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Feasibility of limiting the computational power of each node on: April 01, 2023, 12:24:12 PM
So, for example, one computer can only output 1 GH/s mining hash rate, and if they want to increase it legally, they have to add more computers. Is this what you're trying to say?

If this is the case, I can see a lot of people using other clients or just straight up forking the network if they think it is worth the cost. Whether it is hackable or not is just speculative at this point since there is no code to scrutinize. Even if it is unhackable though, what I mentioned previously is still likely to happen. What is the purpose of this limitation btw? To prevent centralization or something else? I don't see how it works if the former is the purpose. CMIIW.
1547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN SUPPLY LIMIT on: April 01, 2023, 12:12:53 PM
In 2023 they are mining with higher input cost because they can get profit from mining. Same thing might happen in 2140 is my belief.
True. If some reports about mining companies are to be trusted, we can conclude that their recent mining profit is still negative, but they keep their business afloat by selling coins mined a few years/months before. I can't say for sure if this is a spin from the media or just business trying to deter competitors from competing on their business though.

At the end of the day, the market will find the equilibrium and some miners will definitely stop mining due to mining costs, the question is whether the security of the network is good enough to sustain the network when that does happen. Considering how the BTC hashrate keeps rising though, I doubt we'll see that happen in the near future. CMIIW.

Now I see they accept purchases even if it's one pcs. But the selling price is higher than at ledger.com.
I think that is understandable. Other electronics products are also more significantly expensive due to taxes, etc. I assume official resellers need that extra cut to make it profitable since they have to follow all the procedures to import and so on. I'm pretty sure this is more or less the norm for a country like Indonesia.

At the end of the day, P2P is probably browsiek only choice if he wants to buy with BTC.
1550  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: To what extent can Artificial intelligence (AI) Enhance BTC mining. ? on: March 31, 2023, 12:31:01 PM
it helps in monitoring mining equipments and analysing data, also helps in maintenance, tracking performance, identifying faults with the equipment and this in turn enhances good and accurate Mining of BTC.
In my opinion AI is an important component of mining which should not be over looked.
Isn't it doable already with the built-in RIG software or mining software? You don't need AI to tell you one of your fans is failing if the software already tells you that. Even if you want to automate this process, I think you can simply build a bot that notifies you if anything went wrong, without waiting for AI companies to feed their machine learning system tons of miners' stats over the past few years. At the end of the day, they will just look at the manufacturer guide and see if any faulty conditions exist on the owner rigs, no?
1551  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [List] Dompet Bitcoin - Wallet Sofware on: March 31, 2023, 11:48:07 AM

CMIIW.
1552  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Mobile Banking Hanya untuk cek saldo?, ya Explorer aja. on: March 31, 2023, 10:59:37 AM

1553  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Want to see what it takes for your favorite crypto to hit it's ATH? on: March 31, 2023, 10:22:38 AM
I mean, what's the point if I know what a Required Market Cap is? If I already bought the coin would this help?
I also think giving a marketcap number in a vacuum is not a good idea, especially if there is no clear distinction between fully diluted marketcap or just the latest token/coin in circulation marketcap. It also assumes that there are no other metrics to determine or show how far a coin needs to reach that marketcap. For example, if a coin currently has a billion marketcap but a very low trading volume, it might take a shorter/longer time to reach the specific marketcap depending on the circumstances.

That being said, if a user knows how to interpret the data, I can still see the website being used as an instant calculator as long as they regularly update the data feed. Other indicators that OP can add are probably trading volume, market depth, buy/sell pressure, and so on. I believe if OP adds that, the site will see more visits since it is kinda unique as a trading helper.
1554  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: 2-of-3 vault: Can I spare myself passphrases, words seeds and PIN? on: March 30, 2023, 11:57:48 AM
But it's also another complication since I need to find where to hide this seed. And I think it's already quite difficult to manage the 3 different locations with the 2-of-3 multisig.
Since your goal is to make a cold wallet (you don't make transfers regularly, maybe just once a year or so), I think you have to bear with this backup activity. At the end of the day, security is your goal. I'd encourage you to think hard to find where and how you should store those backups. There are many good threads around this topic, for example, this one[1]. If you want to read more, just search "seed backup" on this forum.

The desktop of the 2-of-3 is not airgapped, it's a "normal" computer, used for all other things. Each element of the 2-of-3 vault has its own weak point (the hardware wallet is the stronger element, though), sure:
The desktop can get a virus and be stolen, as well as the mobile phone.
Consider using an air-gapped device as part of your setup. While the chance that both your phone and PC got compromised at the same time is low, I'd consider them as one of the risks that need to be solved. You can buy a cheap phone and use a live OS to set up your multi-sig, for example. There are obviously some risks regardless of what method you choose, but I think using a daily PC is not that great if you want to set up a cold wallet. CMIIW.

1555  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Exchanging BTC with this community will serve the purpose of mixing? on: March 30, 2023, 11:43:32 AM
Well I wonder how the Mixers give a guarantee if you apply the same pressure like the mentioned one.
Do you mean if someone asked the mixer where somebody's deposit goes? I think mixer and exchange have different priorities. An exchange, most of the time, needs government approval if they want to continue their business, so they don't have the incentive to keep their user's privacy. Mixers on the other hand value privacy more, although most of the time verifying them is hard. At the very least, I can see them simply closing down and opening a new one if the owner believes he can do it.

Relying on one or two services is also not a good idea IMO. If privacy is your goal then just use a coin that was designed around that. Or, mine your own coins if you really want them. CMIIW.
1556  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [List] Dompet Bitcoin - Wallet Sofware on: March 30, 2023, 09:07:10 AM
Tidak kesitu juga om arahnya. Hehehe Smiley

1557  Other / Archival / Re: [BIG LIST] Hardware wallets (80+) on: March 30, 2023, 08:53:29 AM
I want to buy Nano Ledger X from the official site but I am in the region of Asia (indonesia) where Bitpay is not allowed then how can I buy this hardware wallet with bitcoins?
I don't like any other payment options except bitcoin.
I'm from Indonesia too. I buy Nano X at a local marketplace with a good reputation. I have no experience buying directly from the official Ledger site and don't know if buying using Bitcoin will cause problems when dealing with taxes on imported goods.
As far as I'm aware Beli Bitcoin is the only official reseller available in Indonesia. They are available at popular marketplaces but there is no way you can use your Bitcoin to pay them. I assume because it is illegal to pay stuff with Bitcoin, so you're out of luck if you don't want to use fiat. You can pay someone with Bitcoin to buy and delivers it to you I guess if that is a reasonable alternative for you. Try to make a post on the local board and see if anyone is can help you do that.
1558  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs Kraken,Coinbase and Justin Sun on: March 30, 2023, 08:42:19 AM
Does not revealing your identity as a project owner make the project less attractive to investment, which might in turn lead to low market capitalization?
Ryoshi is the only name I know about the Shit coin token Shiba Inu but the coin token have a huge number of in trading volume about $200M+ daily trading volume.
I think Shiba Inu is an outlier, to be honest. They have the hype around them when they release it, around when Doge is pumping if I'm not wrong, and people are more than happy to spend their cash to pump low market cap animal tokens. The rest of the anonymous projects that I know of do have low market cap. However, I do believe the key reason is that the things that they build are not really interesting for the masses.

As far as I can tell, SEC is going around with any project who do an ICO or similar thing in the past, especially those that don't limit US participants. They also go for staking services and their derivatives. If there is a new anonymous project that doesn't center around them and is interesting for customers, I believe they might be successful. Whether there will be such projects is another question though, considering how the demand for ICOs is low at the moment.
1559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Banks Welcome Cryptocurrency, as the USA cracks down on: March 29, 2023, 01:41:45 PM
China can stir the shit anytime they want and they did it many times since 2009.
I don't think it is related to China's state policies in any way, like the mining ban. If I understood this correctly, those Chinese banks are using Hong Kong as a hub to expand their business, effectively doing oversea business that serves crypto customers in Hong Kong due to its friendly nature toward crypto. Things might change if their government decides to fine or even make that business illegal, but even if that is true Hong Kong would probably welcome other banks to do their business there.

So yeah, nothing changes that much for Crypto in China, just that their business is trying to get a share of the crypto market through other means. CMIIW.
1560  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: 2-of-3 vault: Can I spare myself passphrases, words seeds and PIN? on: March 29, 2023, 01:28:13 PM
If security is your goal, I think this hassle you mentioned is an acceptable trade-off. I've seen users lose money because they only use a single hardware wallet/air-gapped device, and when a keylogger/malware attacks them, their money got drained easily. This should help you avoid that at least.

What's the purpose of this multi-sig wallet? Did you use it to store your trading money, so you need to make transfers regularly, or did you use it for something else? Knowing the purpose might also help others to give you suggestions for a better setup in terms of flexibility and security.
