1561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: April 19, 2013, 09:27:31 PM
most important thing is a real website with some infos about devcoins!!!
which logo on it is not so important i think. but poeple maybe input devcoin.org .. like the other websites and get a website full with banners and ads. this is not looking professional.. nothing to put money into it...

You do know that we have devtome.com already right?

I think he means a supplementary site to Devtome.com that has a similar aesthetic to Bitcoin.org or Litecoin.org. Now that .org domain name is no longer used for Devtome I think this would be pretty cool to have a site like bitcoin.org for people who like websites in that kind of style Smiley

Buccaneer? Man I used to love that game  Grin
1563  Other / Off-topic / Re: Send people to live on Mars donate with bitcoin on: April 19, 2013, 09:20:25 PM
I'm going to buy a spaceship in 20 years for 1 BTC Smiley I think it's great they accept Bitcoin donations - the more places that accept BTC the better! Especially science fiction style endeavours like this.
1564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FeatherCoin Lottery *In Process Of Being Set Up* on: April 19, 2013, 09:13:43 PM
Im stumped, anybody got any ideas in regards to the best way of hosting a feathercoin lottery?

Should i just go off of a huge lottery system like for example "The Powerball" and just increase the payouts to insane amounts, or perhaps go in the direction of a live drawing?

Those are the only ideas that people have bounced off me so far so any feedback is appreciated.

I like the Idea of a powerball concept.
Also you should go down to your local  gas station and ask which lotto games are popular.
Then take those lotto games, and apply them to feather coin.

The ultimate would be to run the lottery like how BitMillions does it, using the blockchain to select the winners, might be a bit hard to implement though.
1565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: April 19, 2013, 09:10:04 PM
So how many words is = to 1 share now?

1000 words of original content = 1 generation share, and as far as I know it will always be that way Smiley
1566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Impossible to follow anything here anymore. on: April 19, 2013, 09:08:19 PM
I propose to start domain like cryptocurrency something. Alt coins emmmm how come they are alt, all cryto as far as I know using satoshi ideas. Are all cars apart ford are alt cars? Cheesy

Lets maybe meet in irc at some time and talk about it.

Good points - but I think it'd be good to keep it in the tradition of this forum by calling it altcointalk Smiley
1567  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Impossible to follow anything here anymore. on: April 19, 2013, 09:04:19 PM

One Altcoinforum would be best. To look at several different mini-coin-forums sucks.

+1.

The guy in charge has confirmed there will be no subforums down here. So we will just have to make do.

Anyone want to work with me on altcointalk.org? There seems to be a lot of demand so I'll try and get it up sooner anyway Smiley
1568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fuzzy Bear and Psybits Are Now Administrators on: April 19, 2013, 09:03:13 PM
The two most prolific writers last round were Fuzzy Bear and Psybits:
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=wiki:user:FuzzyBear&do=edit
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=wiki:user:CryptoAddicto&do=edit

I looked over their posts and saw that they were helpful and polite, so I asked them both to be administrators. Besides maintaining a receiver file, each administrator does one task.

Cool, congrats to the new admins!

Thanks Smiley Exciting times Devcoin is a pretty unique and game changing project!
1569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: April 19, 2013, 09:02:06 PM
Agreed, and perhaps a timeline set to have a declining reward to have the logo chosen as the "official" one added to the devcoin clients. Also as a part of that I would suggest a vote over a long time period to allow lots to vote toward which one will be the final one used.

Yes I think more logo bounties is a great idea, and we definitely should have a vote on which logo is to be the "official" one. Should we open a new thread for this?
1570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Impossible to follow anything here anymore. on: April 19, 2013, 05:59:16 PM
We aren't getting Coin subforums (confirmed) so no point asking anymore. However maybe now it's time for Alt-Coin users to start using respective forums (litecoin and terracoin both have their own forums).

There are so many people here and so many threads it's impossible to follow anything here anymore.

How about an altcoin board on another site, with separate sections for each coin/currency?  And a very liberal policy as far as what coins get their own board.

Failing that, I'd love to at least see one altcoin subforum here for trading.  Could SaltySpitoon give us that?  Separating out all of the altcoin economic activity from all the other altcoin threads would probably make a big difference.

I've got the domain altcointalk.org and looking at setting this up. If someone else wants to help even better (PM me) - otherwise I'll have it up in a few weeks.

1572  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-04-19 Yahoo Finance - The Bitcoin Implosion: 5 Signs of an Investing Bubble on: April 19, 2013, 04:08:01 PM
So Bitcoin is up 1000% since its emergence and 100% (including the crash mainly caused by Mt Gox lag) in the last 28 days, and its an implosion. Ha ha I suppose some people really just can't see the signs  Cheesy

This article doesn't really explore any of the unique qualities of Bitcoin at all. Just another person trapped in consensus reality missing the boat. Yawn.
1573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Devcoin on: April 19, 2013, 08:20:12 AM
And what is the value of a DevCoin
current value of writing this from vircurex

1 Devcoin = 0.00000124 BTC
806,450 Devcoins = 1btc
1btc = $125
1Devcoin = 0.0155 cents

each block mined rewards 5,000 devcoin to the miners and 45,000 goes to the share rewards so each devcoin block worth about $7

How do writers earn money? I don't want to mine, and I already posted a few articles on devtome.

The process is explained in detail here: http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=earn_devcoins_by_writing

Read it carefully and the process will be revealed to you!

Otherwise feel free to PM me if you are still confused.

Hope this helps Smiley
1574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Impossible to follow anything here anymore. on: April 19, 2013, 08:11:58 AM
Has any legitimate reason been given as to why subforums won't be added here, or is it just hard headedness?

They are clearly needed, and I believe the alt-coin community overwhelmingly supports the idea.
"Well, I've said this last time - this is bitcointalk.org not altcointalk ... "

I just registered altcointalk.org before I read this post.

I think I'll put something up over the next few weeks when I have time.

I think it is fair enough that this is predominantly a Bitcoin forum. Bitcoin deserves and should have its own forum: it is the crypto gold standard after all and I love it Smiley
i feel silvercointalk.org, coppercointalk.org and woodcointalk.org may soon be snapped up Tongue

Ha ha ha we'll just see what happens - I have a compulsive domain name purchasing problem  Grin

1579  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC on BLOOMBERG on: April 19, 2013, 06:07:06 AM
sweet graphs ... do you intern at bloomberg or ... ?

I was wondering the same thing. Or are you trading BTC for Bloomberg?  Grin

I would have loved to intern at Bloomy when I was in UG--currently I'm a PE Analyst in Toronto (and grad school/CFA candidate) I'm fortunate enough to work on some pretty cutting edge stuff at work and with my research--consequently that involves developing ideas and building stuff with the talented programmers at BLP; I am a (devoted) client--not an employee of Bloomberg LP.

...now if I could only convince them to put the idle time of 300,000 terminals (and the lovely GPUs that power their multi-screen setups) to good use and point them here Grin:

He he he why not?

Awesome work this is really exciting stuff.
