And what is the value of a DevCoin
current value of writing this from vircurex

1 Devcoin = 0.00000124 BTC
806,450 Devcoins = 1btc
1btc = $125

How do writers earn money? I don't want to mine, and I already posted a few articles on devtome.

Those pages may make sense to you, but none of this stuff makes sense to me.
I need it to say: "Get wallet here", "post wallet here", "Earnings come here".

But it's ok I got help from someone.

Wild Elf:
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=wiki:user:wildelf

has written more than a thousand words:
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=dodmerb_cloud_computing
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=identity_and_access_management
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=navy_cloud_computing
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=zachman_framework_implementation

and so got the sixth, three generation share signing bonus for writing:
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=earn_devcoins_by_writing#signing_bonus

There are now four, three share bonuses remaining. He will also get earnings for writing:
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=earn_devcoins_by_writing#earnings_per_word

Interesting approach compared to the other devcoins, but I wonder if it'll ever grow out of its niche.

Thanks to all for the help and the patience!!

The final version of my logo:

high res here: https://i.imgur.com/1w6gkRu.png
..

For this logo, Marticps received the last 3/5 of a share logo award:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=34586.msg1319359#msg1319359

Because there is a lot of interest in making logos, I suggest extending the logo bounty to 2/5 of a share for the next 5 and 1/5 of a share for the last five. Any objections, or should something be changed?

Agreed, and perhaps a timeline set to have a declining reward to have the logo chosen as the "official" one added to the devcoin clients. Also as a part of that I would suggest a vote over a long time period to allow lots to vote toward which one will be the final one used.

The two most prolific writers last round were Fuzzy Bear and Psybits:
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=wiki:user:FuzzyBear&do=edit
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=wiki:user:CryptoAddicto&do=edit

I looked over their posts and saw that they were helpful and polite, so I asked them both to be administrators. Besides maintaining a receiver file, each administrator does one task. Because Fuzzy Bear starting writing first, he was given first choice of the following:

1) Make devtome accounts for new writers.

2) Help new writers make their user page, and check that their articles meet the requirements:
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=earn_devcoins_by_writing#requirements

3) Maintain the bitcoin share list, removing developers if they stop developing, and adding new developers if they ask and meet the requirements:
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin#developer
https://github.com/Unthinkingbit/charity/blob/master/bitcoinshare.html

4) Add advertising to devtome, then manage the ads.

Fuzzy Bear asked me to choose for him, I chose "Making devtome accounts" so he's now the go to guy for making new devtome accounts:
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=earn_devcoins_by_writing#application

Of the three remaining choices, Psybits chose to be ad manager, so he'll work on getting advertising for devtome. The advertising revenue will then be converted to devcoins and sent to writers in proportion to their words, and eventually once we get page view information for each article, in proportion to their page views. The revenue will be tiny for the first few months, because we only started the marketing program about a month ago; however it should grow quickly. Even after devtome becomes more popular, the revenue per word/month will still be much smaller than the earnings per word that writers get when they first write an article, but the revenue goes on indefinitely and every bit helps.

Do you like it or you prefer the previous ones?
Just my opinion, but you need to dot the i. Otherwise perhaps it's just me but at a quick glance (or scrolling down this page) it can seem to say devcon, before the brain completely processes the extra letter.

Yes I think more logo bounties is a great idea, and we definitely should have a vote on which logo is to be the "official" one. Should we open a new thread for this?

1000 words of original content = 1 generation share, and as far as I know it will always be that way Smiley
