161  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin rise is over on: October 04, 2017, 04:57:31 AM
The bubble will be corrected eventually, but i don't think it is going to be now. Just because bitcoin is down 2-3% today doesn't mean that the bull run is over. I actually think it is likely the bull run will last until at least the end of the year, and if it is strong enough perhaps even make it into next year.

This is just a short term correction, not the start of the collapse of btc price, at least in my opinion.

It should still be able to go up quite a lot, set a new all time high even.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SALT Speculation. Is it worth it? on: October 04, 2017, 03:39:58 AM
Only listed on Liqui, Binance and Etherdelta right now.

Once listed on a bigger exchange like bittrex or poloniex i think the price could definitely go up from there. I mean the coin is still early and people don't know about it yet, if marketing catches up then price could go 0.0025+ BTC quite easily.

Is it worth it completely depends on whether SALT is a good fit for your portfolio or not.
163  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin debit card with the best possible exchange rate on: October 03, 2017, 04:38:48 AM
Have you tried Uphold.com , currently they provide virtual debit cards...

Uphold has some pretty crappy exchange rates or at least when i used them. Plus, their account has pretty low limits for an anonymous user so unless you are able to verify yourself you probably don't want to use them.

Also it's weird they claim that they are running on full reserve but then they don't actually show proof of reserves - you can see the numbers, they add up. But you don't know whether they are lying or not. It's just so weird.
164  Economy / Speculation / Re: I've noticed something strange on: October 03, 2017, 03:50:08 AM
I'd say that the uptrend will continue well into the end of the year at least. We'll probably see new all time highs being set for bitcoin in the process, and potentially break $6k or even $7k barrier.

After that, i think that it is likely we'll experience an adjustment and profit takers start dumping. We simply cannot go bullish forever. Years in between halving are usually actually quite bearish for bitcoin or simply sideways movements.
165  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price is increasing AGAIN on: October 03, 2017, 03:47:39 AM
I have noticed the greater rate of increase in the past two weeks. I always trusted bitcoin that it can recover fast from any fall of its price. What do you think? It is good to invest today? And what are your expectations about its price before the year ends?

I think that markets have matured to realize that China banning ICOs and exchanges doesn't mean that it is the end of the road for bitcoin. No, by no means is it over for bitcoin. In fact, people are pouring into this very promising tech on a daily basis.

I expect price to actually go up more, potentially to $5k+ by the end of the month. I'm pretty bullish with bitcoin at the moment.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Question About Community Support on: October 01, 2017, 04:38:16 AM
How would the community feel if an ICO in the US complied with the SEC, FINRA, and FINCEN regulations, and got the nod from the SEC, to run the ICO? Obviously everything would be spelled out and transparent to the community in the whitepaper on how the company would run the business and how the funds would be distributed. But if the US Federal government was ok with the ICO, would the community invest? (obviously if they were interested)

Well, if you had the approval of SEC to do an ICO then obviously people will be extra incentivised to invest in whatever idea you are trying to market to them. However pretty sure starting ICOs in US is already legal anyways, and you don't need the explicit consent of the SEC to do what you want to do.

I would personally stay away from ICOs for the fact that most are projects with no real value behind them. All they want is your money, and when they get it, they disappear fast.
167  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase issue on: October 01, 2017, 04:27:25 AM
When I first got into bitcoin coinbase was the one wallet I found that seemed trusted and reliable. Everything is working out great until about eight months ago I got contacted by them saying they no longer allow US customers and that i needed to withdraw my btc. I did so. My issue is, i have a local friend who has a coinbase account and he has never heard of this or been contacted by coinbase. Was wondering if any americans had the same experience?
Are you sure that they have banned US citizens?

They are a primarily US based company so i doubt that they have stopped serving US based citizens at all. Plus, on their official website states that US is clearly still accepted as a country: https://www.coinbase.com/global?locale=en.

However, their support is completely horseshit right now. Honestly, i would not use them even if they were open to your country simply because of the sheer amount of complaints that are currently open against them.
168  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Liqui is a scam exchange, DO NOT USE on: October 01, 2017, 04:16:27 AM
Withdrew some eth from liqui last sunday and the transaction didnt go through due to an "out of gas" error. I didnt receive the ETH back on my liqui account, I have tried contacting their support countless times but they do not even reply to me. Still waiting for my ETH but havent received anything yet. I can see my transaction on etherscan and it says cancelled so I should be getting my ETH back.

This is completely unacceptable from an exchange, I know of many other people that have had issues with them and they have behaved in the same way.

Anyone know of any ways that I can reach out to these scammers? Disgusting.

They have a forum account on here that doesn't seem to reply to many people at all, and they also have a twitter handle. Try to PM them on both bitcointalk and twitter nonetheless and keep opening new tickets if they don't answer old ones.

Seems like a lot more people are having trouble with liqui, so it's definitely not just you.

I would recommend getting the hell out of liqui if you were ever paid back.
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ban in South Korea on: October 01, 2017, 04:09:47 AM
I have recently heard that after China Now South Korea Ban Bitcoin too...is that truth???
If banned then What's the future of BTC now?

Nope. It seems like south Korea is looking at the possibility of banning ICOs. They still consistently have one of the biggest volumes for a single country with bitcoin trading with the leading exchange Bithumb. I don't think that they will be banning bitcoin at all, or at least anytime soon.

Even if bitcoin was banned from South Korea then it'll just go on fine.

Bitcoin is decentralized, it doesn't need support from government.
170  Economy / Exchanges / Re: EXCHANGER on: September 30, 2017, 01:33:54 AM
which exchanger is better? safer? faster?

bittrex, poloniex, c-cex?

Out of the three there is pretty much no doubt that bittrex is the best.

Though, if given more choices i'd definitely have gone with bitfinex. I think that i like the interface the best out of every exchange and their spreads are quite low as well.

As for poloniex, it's pretty much self explanatory - support doesn't do crap when you have a problem. C-cex is just way too small of an exchange to feasibly trade on for large trades even though they've been around for a while.
171  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Localbitcoins scammers? on: September 30, 2017, 01:16:53 AM
Tried doing a sell today with a 0 trade user.  He marked the trade as paid in a few minutes without ever even attempting to contact me or actually make the payment.  Is this just a common scam attempt they have there now?

Well it's very odd because you can easily dispute the transaction with localbitcoins and get your money back since he has no proof that he has paid and you have every proof in the world that you have not been paid.

It should be just case of very bad scamming tactics, and that is why you never release before you actually get your btc/fiat.
172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jamie Dimon bashes Bitcoin again on: September 30, 2017, 01:10:25 AM
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/09/22/bitcoin-jpmorgans-jamie-dimon-lays-into-bitcoin-again.html

This time he says it is "worth nothing" because it was made out of thin air.  He also talks about the importance of government backing in a currency and says again that Bitcoin will "end badly".  And adds that more governments will move to shut it down.

I wish a reporter would ask him about the discovery that JPM was trading Bitcoin after he said he'd fire everyone he caught trading Bitcoin.

It's sort of funny because government issued fiats are the real currencies which are created out of thin air. They are the ones that do not have any sort of limit on the total amount of money that can be ever created and debt ceiling are often lifted.

Bitcoin needs to government backing, because it is a decentralized network.

As it is decentralized, it cannot fall to the rule of a single person and they cannot abuse the network for personal gain.
173  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC new Era or Just bubble? on: September 30, 2017, 12:41:09 AM
BTC new Era or Just bubble? - What do you think about it)) Many people invest a lot of fiat currency and hope that it will give them profit but they cant pevent if somesthing unpredictable happen. What do you whink about it ?

Both. I think that price is probably going to correct itself soon but at the same time, we can see an new era for bitcoin emerging for sure. It's not just one or another, when there is a bubble, people get interested in bitcoin and we actually get a lot more people on board.

But as i said, this could be a bubble and may pop. Who knows when.
174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korea Bans ICO's/Your Opinion on: September 30, 2017, 12:24:48 AM
Well honestly good or bad it's not going to affect bitcoin at all. What it is going to affect however are altcoins, especially ones that are focused on providing a platform for ICOs or are ICOs that are still ongoing.

Also pretty sure that they've not actually done anything yet.

So for now, they can change their decision any time.
175  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC become a PUMP after 30/9???? on: September 28, 2017, 11:11:47 PM
The price has been raising uncontrollably since last week !!!
However , Chinese will public their decision of Cryptocurrency on 30/9
Do u think the price may keep raising or decrease ??

It's only a day or two till the 30th comes.

The reaction so far seems to still be quite bullish from the market. The fact is that BTCChina has already stopped accepting withdrawals and begins to shut down their exchange yet the price is still going up.

This indicates that traders probably aren't that worried about this event at all. The price should go to $4500+ in October still.
176  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining on: September 28, 2017, 11:08:41 PM
Can any offer cheap good cloud mining ?

I was looking at iq mining.com  any feedback ?

If you look at their mining calculator then the alarm bells just keep going off. $75 per day on a $500 investment is simply not sustainable and that equates to a 54,000% APR even with simple interest(much more with compound interest).

I doubt this scam even a ponzi scheme, but rather just a classic scam. Once you deposit, you are likely just get scammed. There won't be a period of time where the admin will even bother paying out initial investors since the rate of return is just so big. Don't invest.
177  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp have now enabled BitcoinCash withdrawals on: September 28, 2017, 11:06:45 PM
https://www.bitstamp.net/article/bitcoin-cash-withdrawals-now-available/

Quote
27 SEP 2017

We are happy to inform you that we have now distributed corresponding Bitcoin Cash (BCH) balances to those of our customers who chose to leave their BTC on our platform at the time of the fork. An equal quantity of BCH is now available for withdrawal. To withdraw your BCH funds, click here now.

As previously advised, Bitstamp used the timestamp of the last common block (block 478558), which is 1 August 2017, 13:16:14 UTC, to determine our customers' BCH balances.

In light of recent events in China, we are postponing the launch of BCH trading until further notice. We will constantly review our position on this issue as events unfold, and will inform our customers of any new developments as they emerge.

Well, at least they are withdrawing every single person's BCH, whether or not trading was available. Have to say though that they were probably a tad late with the withdrawals, every other exchange have done it ages ago.

I wonder why they are postponing BCH trading, though.

"China" is just not a valid reason. I mean, they've still got a lot of other trading pairs availble on their site...
178  Economy / Speculation / Re: Financial collapse means Bitcoin boom? on: September 28, 2017, 10:45:02 PM
Definitely. Bitcoin is completely decentralized which means that it is an especially good hedge against financial collapses and shit hits the fan situations. As we've seen usage of bitcoin has soared in Venezuela and Zimbabwe.

These people need something in which they can store their wealth in, without having to worry about inflation.

Bitcoin is perfect for that purpose. You can also see that bitcoin is often traded at a premium for regular fiat.
179  Economy / Reputation / Re: Gameristo..what are you doing, bro? on: September 28, 2017, 10:41:42 PM
@gameristo

You do realize that you owning multiple paypal accounts and using them to exchange for bitcoin is against paypal's terms and conditions right? Plus, why do you need to change your paypal so often for "freelancing"? Doesn't make much sense.

Unless of course you're trying to game the system of something. Just speculation, but what you are doing here is completely shady and i would recommend not even touching paypal trades for at least 180 days to avoid further negative feedbacks.
180  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 【Bitcoin Debit Card UQUID】 Best Bitcoin and Altcoins debit card | 0% Fee Deposit on: September 27, 2017, 03:30:45 AM
Seems like a few people are having issues with this card. Really looking for alternatives to cryptopay and wirex right now, does anyone know whether or not Uquid is worth a shot for an unverified account?

2-3 weeks my arse... uquid, your reputation really has gone down the shitter at this point.

What was your problem with theM?
