I know you insist and believe that everyone who owns M coin monitors this thread and will see your post, and perhaps they will, but the reality is that there are a lot of people who make a good deal of profit in trading these alt coins around. You're never going to convince anyone not to play the spread and price swings if the primary purpose of their holding M coin is to profit it from it (and who isn't here to profit?).
You're not going to get any sustained increase in the price by convincing or even just asking people not to sell. You won't be able to artificially inflate the price by getting sellers to whithhold sell orders for a little while. You can't just get rid of the sell orders, you have to give someone a reason to pay 2x, 3x, or 4x current prices for an M coin. You have to expect that every time there is a surge in price you will have a surge of sell activity as holders lock in profits. To increase price you have to increase demand for M coin organically. Give people a reason to buy, own, or hold M coin. If all you can do with it is participate in an ocassional raffle then it isn't good for anything except playing the margins and price swings on Bittrex, and that's what people are doing.
Much of Bitcoin's value comes from being able to spend it in quite a few places. Are you working on any merchant acceptance for M coin?
Don't get me wrong, I want the value to go up as much as anyone else. But we all have to be realistic about what drives prices and markets.
+1 Well said, and I think I said pretty much the same thing a few pages back. The value of M will remain where it is unless more buy support can be obtained. BUYERS raise the price, not sellers. Begging sellers to drop their orders is just that - begging. People playing the spread is the ONLY market activity happening right now. The Multipool is executing buys each day, but it's only hurting us, really. Hell, if I had a truckload of MMXIV I wanted to sell for the best possible price, and I knew each day exactly 0.XX BTC worth of buy orders would be executed at a certain time, I would place exactly 0.XX BTC worth of sells every day and make sure they were at the top of the sell list. The only reason I'm not is because about 60-80% of the multipool hashrate is mine (most days). |

I think what he's saying is that instead of just buying into the sells, he is suggesting to put up Bids and wait for someone to sell
yes, exactly... This will create surely more interrest on the market due to the fact bid/ask spread will be lower I am not comfortable at all with doing hedging with other people's money. Yes, if done correctly money could be made, and possibility drive the overall price up, but it would take a lot of time, and attention to make sure right. I would rather use that time to work on improving the multlipool. I agree, doing this would be very tough to implement and still be fair. Keeping track of whose orders belonged to who and paying out when they were filled (or partially filled) would be a complex task. It was just an idea . . . need to come up with something. The price and market volume have been pretty stagnant for weeks. The raffles, while a great idea, don't seem to be getting things moving much. |

I agree that using at least some of the MP's funds to build up the buy list would probably be a good idea.
The spread on MMXIV has been hovering at or near 100% for weeks. Meaning, the lowest sell price is 100% higher (double) the highest buy price. I guarantee you bots are playing this spread every day. Place an order at the top of the buy list for 0.006, as soon as it's filled, place a sell order for those same coins at 0.012, and take advantage of the MP buys every day to double your money. Repeat over and over every day (well, not EVERY day, but I digress).
These bots will continue to fill the sell list as long as they're making money - and I'm sure they are perfectly content making 100% on every trade so as long as the buy price is 0.006 the sell price will always be 0.012
When the highest buy and lowest sell are closer - say, within 5% of each other - we will start seeing some real movement
I'm not sure if it's the pools place to hedge other peoples money. You guys will have to talk to ThePeePs about that, but if it were me, I'm not sure how comfortable I would be doing that. He would just be opening himself up to a lot of FUD I agree, sounds good in theory but would be tough in practice. I guess my point is - until there is more buy pressure, or a heckuva lot more hash on the multipool, the price of M is going to stay where it is now. |

If I threw 1.1th to the sha what kind of Roi estimation would I get? It varies quite a bit, mostly because the price of MMXIV varies quite a bit. Back when the pool was making regular daily payouts I would get between 2 and 5 MMXIV per day with 1.2TH The pool does not automatically perform payouts, so ThePeePs has to do them manually each day. He's been out of town the past week and even when he's around, it doesn't always happen every day. I don't think he's scamming anyone - you will get paid, just can't say for sure long it will take. |

Use Twitter like you're supposed to - post an update when there is something important going on. You don't have to do it every day, just when something happens.
For example, the rebranding as Maieuticoin - Twitter post and link to details. The MMXIV raffle - Twitter post. The BTC raffle - post.
Post these ONCE. If you don't post anything for two days that's fine - it just means there's no news to report. Don't spam them every hour, it's just annoying as hell. Your followers all received a notification and saw the post the first time you did it. Repeating it over and over again every hour isn't going to encourage them to read it again, it just encourages them to click the "unfollow" button. If you were getting the same four emails from someone every hour every day you'd be pissed and unsubscribe.

Rebranding. Nothing has changed. You can use MMXIV 1.0.2 if you want, or download the new client. I suggest using the new client to avoid any confusion, though Not to mention, it looks much, much nicer  I downloaded the new client . . . it looks identical, the only thing that has changed is the name of the file (Maieuticoin-Qt.exe). Still shows MMXIV everywhere. |
