161  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Gemini is full on with native SegWit!!! (And uses Blockstream's block explorer on: March 28, 2019, 08:29:14 AM
this is definitely great and they get an extra point for supporting Bech32 addresses which is the more important part in my opinion.
but i am personally not going to get excited about things like this because i am strongly hope to see even one exchange to start adopting Lightning Network and start letting people deposit/withdraw that way. if that happens we can expect a big boom in the industry.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Is straying deceitfully from the ideologies of Blockchain technology on: March 25, 2019, 01:12:00 PM
this has always been the same series of events that follow up when you add centralization into this world, everything turns into crap. and Binance as a centralized exchange is currently the front runner of a lot of things which will start going wrong slowly but surely.

starting with their platforms then followed up but their billion dollar centralized token BNB which is over pumped right now and the worst thing and the most dangerous thing is going to be the IEOs which will not only corrupt them but also wreck the cryptocurrency economy too.
163  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lightning Network will help bitcoin`s price reach 6,000 USD in November on: March 25, 2019, 12:34:01 PM
Price will grow when whales will be ready. Not when good news will appear. We are no longer in bull market where good news pumps x2. We are in bear market where average investor is to scared that its last year of bitcoin. No matter if with or without LN.

we haven't been in a bear market for  some time now but the fear is still there in the market because last time the drop was unexpected and manipulated. otherwise we would have been rising already.
but i agree that with current market news like this can not change the trend.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do if the Bitcoin Sending Fee will be super high or super low? on: March 25, 2019, 12:19:51 PM
https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ gives the minimum fee to try to confirm in the next block with a >90% chance. In real terms, this means your transaction is likely to confirm within 10 minutes (on average). If you need a transaction to confirm this quickly, then choose that fee. At time of posting, that fee is 18 sats/byte.

i believe that this website is mainly designed to be useful newbie and not that much for anybody else because they always intentionally give you a higher fee because (again i am assuming) they want the transactions with that fee to be confirmed with 100% chance. so for example if it tells you 18 s/b that means you can get away with 5 s/b too.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My friend told me a new concept Lightning Network, but I don't fully understand on: March 25, 2019, 12:09:12 PM
Trust me,you don't need to know anything about the Lightning network. All the hype about super fast transaction speed is exaggerated. The current speed of normal btc transaction is quite good.
Think of LN as a second layer over the bitcoin core blockchain, that's centralized and therefore you don't have to wait for confirmations. It's not the best explanation, but this is how I see LN.

it is a wrong explanation!
- transactions in LN network are super fast because they don't need to be mined, they are happening as fast as you can send a small data (the transaction size of hundred bytes) to another node.
- it is not centralized! it is as decentralized as bitcoin network itself and purely happening in a peer to peer manner.
166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the Bitcoin Cash rise quickly? on: March 23, 2019, 09:50:59 AM
What have you seen with the growth of Bitcoin Cash in recent weeks? Looks like it's experiencing a pretty good growth with the price. What do you think if you have to compare it to Ethereum at the same time right now. Fix my opinion. Thank you all.
It'll probably die soon, not now but soon, if you look at the volume blocks of both doge and bcash, doge outperforms bcash (top 6 cryptocurrency btw), the price might grow but it will die in the long run so beware investing in it.

i don't think it can die that easily because it is centralized. and being centralized means they have a lot of money to keep it alive. in fact big whales are involved in it (whales like Bitmain and Ver) and they will pump it on top of all the other advertisement and newbie fooling techniques they have been using.

it will die eventually though because it is centralized and useless!
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC price and trading volume going up on: March 23, 2019, 09:39:10 AM
a) Why is Litcoin doing so well of late?
b) How can we explain that solid trading volume?

litecoin has always followed bitcoin. in fact LTC has been the only altcoin that has always followed bitcoin, for example when bitcoin rises LTC follows while other altcoins get dumped.

and right now bitcoin is in its accumulation phase and if you look at the charts it is the exact same thing, higher volume a slight price rise and the price is getting ready for a launch.
168  Economy / Economics / Re: The prevailing market condition a blessing? on: March 23, 2019, 09:29:38 AM
Prior to 2018 , the prices of most coins are very high and so not affordable .
in cryptocurrencies you do NOT have to buy 1 whole coin so your statement makes absolutely NO SENSE. you can always buy a portion of bitcoin for example 0.0001BTC which is worth so little even if price was $50000

Quote
Which I believe could have discouraged potential investors from investing into cryptosphere.
no, it would only discourage newbies who don't understand how things work and that is a very good thing.

Quote
Now that the market is bearish which has seen the price of  most of these coins low and affordable and with this, it is expected that those who couldn't invest in 2017 are investing now.
your mistake is that you think when price of altcoins dropped they became good investments just because of the drop. but the reality is that the higher price for 90% of the altcoins was 100% fake and it needed to get dumped to reach a more realistic price. which means even with the current dumps most of them are still overvalued.

Quote
So can we say that the bearish market drives adoption of Cryptocurrency?
Is it a blessing to cryptosphere?
it is a blessing but only because it eliminated a lot of fake prices and also killed a lot of shitcoins and ICOs which were damaging the health of the whole market.
169  Economy / Speculation / Re: *Q2-BTC-PRCE PREDICTION-GAME* Q2 LIST GAME on: March 23, 2019, 09:10:00 AM
$5900

i am low balling it this time and i had to squeeze myself in that range since other have chosen some prices at that level.
$5900 is going to be about 2x rise in half a year and based on the history that kind of rise is expected after a big drop like what we had so far. mainly based on 2015 and since so far we have been following the same pattern it wouldn't be a surprise if the same thing was repeated
170  Economy / Speculation / Re: 95% of the reported volume is fake but LOTS of good news! on: March 23, 2019, 08:56:21 AM
Quote

that is a bullshit title. it is like looking at coinmarketcap and then saying cryptocurrencies (which would also include bitcoin) are 95% scams because that is what you see when you look at the whole market.

in this case it is obvious that when you look at shitty exchanges (for example Yobit) their volume is mostly fake because that is how they stay alive. and more importantly it is pointless to even include and analyze that data!

a valuable article would have been one that focused on real exchanges that matter (Coinbase, Bitstamp, Kraken,...) and then in the title mentioned how much of that volume is fake.

besides just by looking at the "histogram" of volume, the "spikes",... and lack of resemblance to other exchanges doesn't mean it is fake! it just means you are looking at a different market which has different type of customers.
171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan completely changes its stance on bitcoin on: March 23, 2019, 08:49:29 AM
They just want to regulate the Bitcoins price and since they have a say in the market and people actually think about what they said they use it in a very negative way.

https://www.newsbtc.com/2019/03/22/report-bitcoin-and-crypto-markets-more-regulated-than-widely-thought/

' maybe we all can do something and let the normal flow of inflation and deflation run through the market .

lets not confuse the market with bitcoin.
market is two parts the centralized part which is exchanges like Coinbase for example which has been regulated for ages. there is also a decentralized part of the network which is the P2P trades which is not and can not be regulated.
but all of that is only a small part of bitcoin itself. bitcoin on its own is still the same decentralized and unregulated payment system and it will remain that way.
172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Netflix series OA - “What’s ether? Is that some kind of, like, digital currency? on: March 23, 2019, 08:41:03 AM
it is great to see these types of programs come out recently that are covering cryptocurrencies. i just hope they don't turn into a hype and advertisement of different altcoins just because the creators have some stake in that altcoin and want to make profit.

in this case i really hope they cover things such as centralization of Ethereum, its premine, the lack of immutability and other issues on top of explaining what it is and what it does.
173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Market Capitalization on: March 19, 2019, 11:12:57 AM
the cryptocurrency total market capitalization doesn't matter even a little bit! it will continue to rise though but that will only be because creating a new coin is extremely easy specially when all it takes is a copy paste of some code that is already out there and open for usage for free!

what we really need is one or two coins that start like bitcoin, without premine and decentralized so that we can see this market grow for real instead of being pumped and dumped all the time.
174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Upcoming Constantinople will not have negative security implications. on: March 19, 2019, 10:55:52 AM
Well I'm sure after the Constantinople fork Ethereum will find better feet in crypto space ,its will stand out among its competitors, ETH teams knows what they are doing and its good they postponed the upgrade in the first place for better results
I also feel that this was the right decision to postpone the update in order to correct all the errors. In fact, in other large projects, problems just happen and just as they require a quick reaction from the team. The Ethereum team is not fast but is developing the project, so I think that there will be no security problems.

Didn't feared Constantinople at all, we are well behind 27th and all of march is smooth curves. How about tackling one's own security? I am looking for a library (preferable PHP) for creating deposit addresses from mnemonics.
Any suggestions?

try searching on Github.com for that kind of libraries, you will find a lot of them, i have not used any in PHP so i would not suggest anything that may end up being bad.
but if you search for BIP39 and 41 you will find many. check their license first and then use them accordingly.
175  Economy / Speculation / Re: Current Bitcoin Price prediction on: March 19, 2019, 10:47:49 AM
I think that such a scenario is possible, in which the situation on the cryptocurrency market will remain uncertain for a relatively long time. Thus, bitcoin can for quite a long time be kept in some corridor, for example, between $ 3,500 and $ 5,000, and they will not give it any opportunity to go beyond this corridor. This is also possible.
Now it looks pretty good, in my opinion we have got a good thing right now because the majority of Crypto's prices are increasing well.
We just need to maintain price stability by using crypto far more instinctively. This kind of thing is an obligation because we support crypto to the full.

there is just another altcoin wave coming our way only because bitcoin has not been profitable since its price is staying the same without any movement. i wouldn't really call that a good thing. we have seeing altcoins that suddenly go up twice or three times their value these days for no reason!
176  Economy / Speculation / Re: btc's possible next moves on: March 19, 2019, 10:19:19 AM
the only possible move for bitcoin is to rise, everything else is a clear act of going against the tide and should fail.
we have already had a very long period of dropping which a huge drop from the ATH and in literary no market we can have that kind of long and big drop and bitcoin has never had any drop that was this long either.
177  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Media spreads incorrect story of New Zealand mass shooter & crypto... on: March 19, 2019, 10:11:30 AM
The drama that the media brings really amazed me. They are only trying to take the blame over cryptocurrency on why did the shooter to such thing. Obviously, he hates Muslims so much that he went to a Muslim church and do some rampant shooting there.
..
I guess, He doesn't hate Muslims but he hates immigrants and afraid the dominance of "white people" can be replaced.

it is an act of terrorism and has little to do with hate this group or that group. terrorists don't kill masses to decrease dominance of "white people" either.
act of terrorism quite simply has only one purpose: to create terror and fear.

the media on the other hand is taking advantage of that emotions to run the hottest topic and if they can throw in something like cryptocurrencies that are also hot topic they wouldn't hesitate.
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright Deletes Twitter Account After Getting Heckled? on: March 19, 2019, 10:02:17 AM
I'm surprised that the so called bitcoin creator even has a twitter account. If he wanted to get messages out to the world he should have reclaimed bitcointalk or never given it up

you do realize that he is an impostor right? he has been scamming people for more than two years now by stealing the identity of Satsohi Nakamoto and abusing it to his own advantage to make money from the gullible sheep in this market.
179  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Claimed BSV Long After the Fork, and It’s a Piece of Cake on: March 19, 2019, 09:53:48 AM
i couldn't find any source code for this wallet you are introducing here and i tend to stay away from wallets that are like this because they tend to be shady and there is no reason to be closed source. so if i missed it please include it in your post. i also couldn't find any feedback about the wallet though since i have never heard its name before.
180  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrencies Pose Risks to Banks, Warns Basel Committee on: March 17, 2019, 06:41:43 AM
just like when engine was invented and horse and carriage went out of business and became obsolete, banks will eventually become obsolete as bitcoin and in general decentralized money becomes popular.
that is how the world has always worked from the beginning of the world, you can't fight it.

the only way banks can survive this transition longer is if they adapt with decentralized world. start offering services to bitcoiners and things like that.
