1121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2017 the best year for bitcoin and 2018 the worst ?? on: March 09, 2018, 10:17:13 AM
i don't think so.

2017 was good thanks to the adoption and a big rise but that doesn't mean 2018 which has just been started is a bad year for bitcoin.
we are currently in after that big rise and the correction persists a little more.

and lets not forget about all the FUD that has been around.
1122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: RED EVERY WHERE. on: March 08, 2018, 11:02:37 AM
there is nothing really going on it is simply another time for bitcoin to have a tiny little drop and altcoins follow it by having a huge dump because of it. it is strange but that is what it is, you can't change how things work in this market. and when you add the big altcoin bubbles to the equation you get yourself a bigger altcoin dump than normal.
1123  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC predection in 2018 on: March 08, 2018, 10:57:51 AM
your bottom price seems pretty strange and unlikely to me but you keep coming back to it until your July prediction. it is true that right now price is stuck there in this range and keeps coming back to $11k but it doesn't mean it will become the new bottom after this phase. in fact i think the new bottom will be at least $2000 higher and possibly even at $14500 if the $12k resistance is broken.
1124  Economy / Speculation / Re: This was the actual reason for the latest Bitcoin dumps on: March 08, 2018, 09:54:16 AM
...he has sold off about $400 million in bitcoin and bitcoin cash since late September....

daily trading volume of bitcoin is nearly $10 billion now and back in September it was even more
same with bitcoin cash it is currently at $500 million.

i don't think such dumps can cause such crashes specially since people selling this much size are either selling it off the exchanges because of tax problems and lots of other concerns or they do it little by little to both evade those problems and also not crash the market.

not to mention that by late September price was $4000 and rising towards $8k then $10k and finally $20k! how could he be dumping and crashing the market while price has been rising?!
1125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance again ? the hacker is more smarter this time! on: March 08, 2018, 09:47:01 AM
and cause of that bitcon drop 1k$++ just on on night , i hope it will fixed and bitcoin price will grow up again

i seriously doubt that bitcoin drop had anything to do with this hack, the news of it was not even big enough to make any meaningful difference. i doubt that it was even real! maybe Binance messed up something or pumped VIA themselves and were caught and wanted to hide it with their blog post.
1126  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is Bitcoin required to pay taxes? on: March 08, 2018, 09:38:08 AM
Britain, Japan and so on are tax on Bitcoin, China's behavior such as Bitcoin transactions is not tax, which is why? What will happen?
If Bitcoin needs to pay taxes, what are the taxation links? Which taxes include?
I think the country's government can only do is make an external centralization which is taxing the bitcoin and regulating bitcoin outside its blockchain technology, how ? by simply limiting it's consumer for using bitcoin or leveling people to have it like net worths, the more bitcoin you have the higher the tax you will pay.  What will happen ? obviously the people will somehow lose interest on it.

well good news is that no country has ever gone this route that you are suggesting!
instead they simply placed some taxes on bitcoin whenever someone is investing in bitcoin. and some countries like US see it as a commodity so they can tax it easier and some countries like Japan see it as a currency so that their people can adopt it better so they only tax it once when you invest not when you spend.
1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I am taking this opportunity to inject more into NEO when it is under FUD. on: March 07, 2018, 09:32:31 AM
the thing about times of FUD and when there is a panic sell going on is that it is kind of a double edged sword to invest in these coins. not necessarily NEO but generally any coin out there is going to be like this. if you buy the dump may not end and you may lose the chance to buy at the bottom and it may even take longer to go back to where you bought your coins at.

i prefer waiting until the drama is over and then jump in.
i think NEO has some good potential for a future pump so i may even do that in the near future.
1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple: A long term investment or short term? on: March 07, 2018, 09:08:22 AM
Ripple is a long term investment for sure... ! Very safe investment.

when something only has huge rises that last for a very short time (for example a rise only in 2 weeks) and then the rest of the year that same thing is going down or best case scenario stays the same after the big dump, you can not call this thing a good long term investment!

because obviously that thing (which in this case is Ripple) is only performing well for a short time.
1129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Always, always double check addresses! on: March 07, 2018, 09:00:00 AM
you should always check EVERYTHING, not just one thing you hear went wrong or possibly went wrong for yourself.

address is one of them, the other things are the amounts you are paying for example check to see if you are paying 1BTC or 1 uBTC or 1 mBTC, some wallets have different units which may cause big funds loss or underpayment.
the other thing that  comes to mind is the fees. these days with fluctuating mempool and sometimes horrible fee estimations you don't want to pay a lot higher or a lot lower than what normal fee amounts are.
1130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big Bitcoin Heist on: March 07, 2018, 08:49:58 AM
let me rephrase the article for you a little:

Quote
Some 600 computers [...] have been stolen from data centres in Iceland in what police say is the biggest series of thefts ever in the North Atlantic island nation. [...]Icelandic media have dubbed the “big bitcoin heist”.

you see how silly it sounds right now Cheesy
this is not even related to bitcoin. someone stole a bunch of computers that possibly weren't guarded good or maybe even an inside job for insurance money or something like that. and bitcoin doesn't even come in!

it is funny though, how the media is linking everything to bitcoin.
1131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PLAYSTORE and APPSTORE!! on: March 07, 2018, 08:30:31 AM
this is long overdue. they should have already started using bitcoin as payment in their platforms and i think part of this is because the companies behind them (Apple and Google, and the rest of them that are similar) are located in US. of they were some place else for example in Japan they would have already done it and we were paying with bitcoin easily.
1132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: monero price in future on: March 05, 2018, 11:09:17 AM
based on what i have seen so far i think Monero is one of those coins that will always have a rise in long term no matter what. because it is an old coin that has survived this long and it also has some unique and useful features that made it popular and thanks to that popularity it will gain more popularity and rise in price.

it wouldn't be a silly rise like 5000% though. because it is an already big  coin with a big price and a big community and bigger volume. it is hard to pump a coin like this.
1133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What questions would you ask Charlie Lee? on: March 05, 2018, 10:56:05 AM
I'd be interested to know exactly he sold all his LTC and why he didn't announce that he'd do that beforehand.

i think the answer to this question is perfectly clear!
he sold his LTC (or at least says he sold it) because he is a public figure with known identity who has been practically saying "i have a lot of money, here is publicly how much i own". and that can be dangerous for people in this world. it is like putting up a sign telling robbers "welcome"!!!

and he didn't announce it beforehand because it would have caused a panic sell. and then people would have cursed him for it Cheesy
1134  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to $15k in March, $8.5k by June, then $30+k by Q1/2019? on: March 05, 2018, 10:48:11 AM
So let's completely ignore OP and hop into crab bucket with random signature scampaign scandalmonger profiteers.

yeah well some people around here don't forget things easily because they read OPs and it is no secret and you have been calling a big drop ever since price went above $2000 and was stuck at a new resistance above that!
and apparently you have a thing for number "8" because it was $800 that you were calling for back then Wink
1135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if bitcoin crashes? on: March 05, 2018, 10:40:17 AM
What do you think would happen to the rest of the currencies if for some reason bitcoin were to crash and the price dropped to 0?

history tells us that if bitcoin drops, crashes or ... then all the altcoins without an exception will have a much bigger drop, crash ,... than bitcoin had.
so it is not really a matter of what we think but a matter of what has happened many times already.
1136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lightening Network, does anyone actually think it will work? on: March 05, 2018, 10:27:29 AM
Can't keep your funds in cold storage, which creates a real security risk.
Wallet must be open to receive the funds
if you think about these statements you most probably won't make them.

a cold storage is always a way to store your coins not to spend them. for example think of paper wallet, you are not making a paper wallet to spend from it.
for that you have a "hot wallet" which you have funds easily accessible to you. the use of lightning network and the open channels,... can be exactly this. you don't go in your cold storage to pay for coffee, you use the hot wallet and that is where LN comes in. even if you lose the funds because of the security risks it will be your hot wallet funds which are always small amounts like $20 in them.

Quote
May not be a channel open for the transaction to reach your wallet.
i am not sure but i think the process only takes seconds to complete.
keeping a channel open is only for when you want to continue being involved with the network not just when you want to receive funds.

Quote
Those are just some, but probably the biggest concern is that if you are using your wallet as a node/hub for the funds to hop through then there is a good
chance that you could be seen to be involved in the transfer of money and depending on the jurisdiction you reside in, may be subject to anti-money laundering laws that require you to KYC the people sending and receiving the funds or even worse comply with anti terrorism laws.
first of all same goes with bitcoin and also cash. specially cash if you have any of it, there is always a good chance that those funds were involved in something illegal.
secondly LN uses onion routing as far as i know which makes it impossible to know who send what and where and from where they are receiving things.
1137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth having more than one hardware/paper wallet if you hold just one curr on: March 05, 2018, 10:20:57 AM
Just now I only have bitcoin, stored in a hardware wallet, and I was thinking of getting another one when I have a higher amount, but, does it make sense?

I’ve thought about it for safety reasons.

here is a thought: why not combine different types of wallets and have multiple forms of them. for example you can buy a hardware wallet and hold some part of your bitcoins there and then you can use a paper wallet to store some other part of your bitcoins there.
the hardware wallet can be coins that are in cold storage but easier to access in case you needed them and paper wallet can be the ultimate cold storage where you don't touch it at all.
1138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think the top 10 coins on coinmarketcap will change during this year? on: March 02, 2018, 11:20:48 AM
i am nearly sure that this year we will see some major changes in the top 10 altcoins and they will surely be replaced by fresh projects that solve the serious problems that most of these altcoins are facing. for example we have multiple competitors to Ethereum that offer a much simpler solution for ICOs to be created with a lot less cost while having no bugs like ETH has.
1139  Economy / Economics / Re: Money getting out of crypto and stock markets. on: March 02, 2018, 11:06:04 AM
i disagree.
this is just a coincidence unless proven otherwise. and people don't just "think" when a financial crisis comes, people would put their money in bitcoin. instead they all saw that this happened multiple times. for example there has been times when other markets have been having drops and that meant bitcoin rising even more.

so unless you can bring at least two dozen cases of the same thing happening as the following, i am going to stick with "this is a coincidence" theory that two markets just overlapped and it is bound to happen at some point!

the stock market is also falling. S&P 500 and Dow Jones have been falling recently and had yesterday a significant drop.
1140  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chinese market has nothing to do with BTC price, am I right? on: March 02, 2018, 10:56:38 AM
Since the ban on ICO and exchanges released by Chinese government on September 4, it seems investors from Chinese market have very limited influence on the global BTC price, do you agree? Share your comments below.

i  disagree and i say Chinese market doesn't have that big an effect on bitcoin price that everybody has been thinking so far all these years. it is more of a fear of Chinese market that causes weird movements in bitcoin price.
not to mention that every year at the same time we have the same drops and that is while we only had the Chinese ICO ban this year!
