161  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: May 04, 2024, 07:55:40 AM
I was merely mentioning it as a guide for newbies who want to start HODLing. DCA at the current price = Good. But "IF" Bitcoin crashes down to that line or go below it TODAY = throw DCA out of the window and get as much cash as you can and buy Bitcoin.

Basically the DCA is more advisable for anyone that on a salary payroll or your income comes in a specified interval but for anyone that have a lot of money that they have accumulated for long the DCA will not be necessary for them at an intensed DIP but the lump sum is what is needed at that particular time but in subsequent purchase of Bitcoin they can choose to apply the DCA so if the price dips further than this then it will be a very good advantage to buy huge and you can even decide to forget about the DCA yet and use any income you have to settle some real life projects and needs so that on know account will you touch your holdings then watch your investment in Bitcoin grow as time goes.

I have learned enough from my debates with JayJuanGee that buy the DIP, or DCA, is a matter of personal preference and to do what YOU are comfortable with. But the point of that post is, keep doing DCA if you want. BUT if there's a crash and an opportunity comes to buy the DIP near or below Bitcoin's 200-Weekly-SMA, then BUY THE DIP WITH EVERYTHING YOU COULD AFFORD.

--Snip--

Stop with your lies and misinformation ser. No Bitcoin Core developer would give you a negative trust-rating if you were truly honest towards the community. Should the BitcoinTalk community trust Andrew Chow and Gregory Maxwell, or should they trust you?

Plus by the way, Roger Ver was arrested in Spain for tax evasion. He didn't pay the "exit tax" after denouncing his U.S. citizenship. No one escapes the Tax Man.
163  Economy / Economics / Re: WATCH the Federal Reserve's FOMC meeting May 1, 2024 on: May 03, 2024, 01:56:12 PM

Jerome Powell is trying to give the Oligarchs their soft landing, but there's a higher probability that a recession should happen to remove the stickiness of inflation.

So why not short the market with leverage then?  Cheesy

Or why not go on a safer journey, why not HODL Bitcoin and make that a form of shorting legacy finance?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's volatile, and we will absolutely get negative price movement, but truly zoom out and tell me it isn't in a continuous bull cycle from the start - trading vs. fiat. It would be a lie if anyone said that it's not.
164  Economy / Economics / Re: WATCH the Federal Reserve's FOMC meeting May 1, 2024 on: May 02, 2024, 01:55:04 PM
The Federal Reserve has actually been more dovish during their recent meetings that's why S&P 500 has been going up. Jerome Powell is still saying that a soft landing as highly probable, and that he expects three rate cuts later this year. During his speech yesterday, he said that that he doesn't expect to have any more rate hikes this year = Dovish.

I did not believe in terms like soft landing or technical recession because governments want to use those adjusted terms to mislead citizens about what's actually going on and severity of it.

When they say technical recession, we know recession has been here for a while.

"Technical Recession" is merely an economic term to indicate that an economy is already in a recession after two quarters of negative growth. That's just the official definition for economists. There's nothing wrong with the term, but what the U.S. government was doing during, I believe 2022, was the changed the definition and made it three quarters of negative growth.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Recent tightening of FED and some stricter regulations on banks, a latest bank bankruptcy don't give me feeling about a good soft landing at all. Powell will try to give us a soft landing because he is asked to do this in a year of President Election.

165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Investing To Now Taxable Events on: May 02, 2024, 11:46:16 AM
how about not trust social media of either twitter or this forum as something you BLINDLY follow
and instead do your own research of the actual regulations

How about not gaslighting people and manipulating the discussion to make it all about how right you are.

In other topics, you tell people to research, but when they do actually research and present you with the facts, you tell them the facts are wrong. You're not here to teach people. You're merely here to troll Bitcoiners and disinform the newbies into believing your narrative. The big blockers narrative. Plus debating for bigger blocks are not the actual problem, the problem is the lies and misinformation that were used to push that narrative.
166  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: May 02, 2024, 11:30:19 AM
My fellow plebs, another indicator that might help give you more confidence in buying the DIP is the Bid/Ask Ratio. I personally haven't seen what the ratio currently is right now, but with the post-halving + post-ETF approval market conditions, the ratio would probably more positive than negative during this DIP. Cool

OK, the DIP is coming and it's NOW the time for YOU to PAY ATTENTION. For those who employ a DCA strategy, it's probably a good decision to start making your purchases bigger. For those who employ a Buy the DIP strategy, start placing your bids NOW. Currently, the 200-Weekly Simple Moving Average is at $34,200. Will it touch that line again? Probably not, but near that line has always been a good buying opportunity.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well, the 200-WMA currently is moving up at a pace that is right around 40% per year, and so it can slow down in its appreciation rate or it can go up faster if the BTC price goes up faster, and so for sure the BTC spot price is going to get close to the 200-WMA again and perhaps even go below it, yet it is difficult to expect the BTC spot price to get within 25% above the 200-WMA or lower within the next 12-18 months.. (even though right at this moment, the BTC price is ONLY around 68% higher than the 200-WMA - see here).

Never say never, but we should be careful in terms of any kind of overexpectations in regards to BTC price correction that might not end up going as low as we might expect them to go.

I was merely mentioning it as a guide for newbies who want to start HODLing. DCA at the current price = Good. But "IF" Bitcoin crashes down to that line or go below it TODAY = throw DCA out of the window and get as much cash as you can and buy Bitcoin.
167  Economy / Economics / Re: WATCH the Federal Reserve's FOMC meeting May 1, 2024 on: May 02, 2024, 09:39:17 AM
With recently published data related to inflation, unemployment index...it is unlikely that the Fed will soon lower interest rates and will even continue to increase interest rates if inflation increases again.

Yes, no they won't because the labor market is still strong. But keep checking those numbers. Because if something breaks and the unemployment rate surges uncontrollably, expect an emergency pivot to QE and rate cuts. Cool

Quote

Personally, I believe that he will continue to maintain a more hawkish attitude than ever when economic indicators are not as expected. Perhaps the market has somewhat anticipated what Jerome Powell will announce, and that may be the reason why we are seeing another round of dumping today. The market reacted before the FOMC meeting took place, and I think there will be no further volatility after the meeting ends.

168  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Shuffle.com | The next generation of crypto casinos | Sports, Casino + token on: May 02, 2024, 09:20:28 AM
I haven't joined any of those giveaways/raffles, but don't they have a software or tool that picks the winner randomly from the list of posters in their giveaway tweets?

That would be more fair, and the most equitable way to announce a winner, no?

I often enter this contest but never win the giveaway. Maybe Shuffle uses this tool https://twitterpicker.com/ to randomly determine the winner? I think that tool is fair enough.

But I never know if shuffle chooses manually to find winners or there are other tools like the one I mentioned above? But what I know some giveaways from other casinos use that tool to find winners.

It would be stupid for any giveaway done in Twitter to pick winners manually, especially by a casino with a good reputation like Shuffle, OR any other casino with a good reputation. I'm confident that they are using that Twitter Picker tool or some other tool that does the same job. They will keep everything fair for the participants.

Is there a lot active players in this site? Is it trustable?
Yes I am an active player at Shuffle casino. You can trust because this casino has a good reputation, you can play at this casino as long as you follow the rules. But I haven't had any issues since playing at Shuffle the withdrawals have been faster.

See this picture The volume wagered in March and April increased more rapidly, meaning that this casino has many active players because of its good reputation.

👀

More volume, more fees = more SHFL bought back and burned?
169  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: May 01, 2024, 11:29:44 AM

Dipppp this is what most of us as been waiting for this is an glorious opportunity to purchase or Stash more Bitcoin in yah portfolio and HODL,  by now alot of folks will be in the state of panicking which won't do any good . While those of us that understand Bitcoin and it's potential will take grab this opportunity to buy more expecially those no coiners and low coiners, this is the time to increase the rate of your accumulation, be aggressive as you can so that when the bull run begins you will also smile and testify Like others.

OK, the DIP is coming and it's NOW the time for YOU to PAY ATTENTION. For those who employ a DCA strategy, it's probably a good decision to start making your purchases bigger. Yeah that's true , but we can't actually tell if the dip may continue and all that . But the right thing to do now is to take action and keep accumulating because anything can happen anytime  Wink

That doesn't matter, because if you're objective was to DCA higher yesterday, then it's definitely better to DCA with larger bids today. In my personal opinion our objective should be to buy higher units in Bitcoin which can only be achieved by buying DIPs. You don't actually have good market timing because as plebs, we're not hear to buy the bottom. We simply want some discounts to buy more units in Bitcoin.
170  Economy / Economics / Re: WATCH the Federal Reserve's FOMC meeting May 1, 2024 on: May 01, 2024, 11:06:56 AM
With the current look at crypto & stocks I think people are predicting that rates will stay the same & we’ll be told higher for longer. I’m not sure how much more of this the economy can take though until everything cascades down. Hopefully he is slightly dovish & Bitcoin recovers but I’m not confident of it.

The unemployment rate is still very low. Unless they cooked those numbers, I believe the Federal Reserve has until the end of 2024 to keep sticking with their "soft landing" narrative. - Until something breaks. 👀

But I do believe that Jerome Powell might postpone the planning of three rate cuts that he has been using to keep the stock market from crashing.

171  Economy / Economics / WATCH the Federal Reserve's FOMC meeting May 1, 2024 on: May 01, 2024, 07:43:50 AM
What Jerome Powell will be saying in his speech will determine if they continue on with the plan to cut rates three times this year, or not.

It will be live in the Schwab Network's YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWhVz1ozr1o

What's are your guesses? Will Powell be Dovish? Or Hawkish?

I believe he'll say that it will still be "higher for longer" and that they will continue be "data dependent". I'm confident that he will also say that there WILL be a "soft landing", WHICH is truly LOW probability.

173  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: TRADERS are not UNEMPLOYED on: April 30, 2024, 04:12:43 PM
It depends from person to person and whether a trader is actually making money consistently or not. A lot of people don't take trading as a full-time gig, they do it part-time and want to earn an extra income with it. It's only some traders who are in it full-time and they don't do it for fun or to earn a few bucks every day or week which isn't enough for them to live their life off of it.

A person who gets into trading with the intent to make an income from it, would need to have a sum that is good enough to generate decent profits for them if they do day trading because the amount of profit depends on the amount of money you are using for the trades. After all, 10% of $100 is $10 but 10% of $1,000 is $100. So the capital makes a difference.

Other than that, one needs to have a general interest in trading to be able to earn money constantly from it because if you are forcing yourself to get into it, you will barely be able to gain enough knowledge and without enough knowledge, you won't reach your target.

Everyone should stop with the bolded quote, AND IGNORE everything else in the topic. Because it's either you're "self-employed" and making money from the other participants of the market, OR you're giving the ability to some individuals by giving your money to those participants in the market who are better in trading/investing than you.

It's either you're the one employed, or giving the employment for them to be employed. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well, speaking about operating in Russia, its elimination didn't take so long  Undecided

https://cryptobriefing.com/russia-crypto-ban-reinforce-ruble/

If that's actually true, then someone should tell Putin that his subjects are wrong to ban Bitcoin UNLESS they're not going to lead by example. Because what actually could fix Russia's problems, that are caused by sanctions, is actually Bitcoin. It was built for that kind of censorship - financial censorship.

The ban will be a legal pretext for greater financial control of the population and eventual confiscation of cryptocurrencies. I don't see here that there was anything different compared to everything that the US government and the SEC do. They do this without a publicly declared ban, so it appears that there is freedom when using Bitcoin.

I believe, from the Bitcoin network's viewpoint, that it's better for them to impose an absolute ban. But they probably know that that will take part in Bitcoin's core function, and main value proposition - Censorship-Resistance. Haha. There might be some politicians that have gotten smarter and deeper about their understanding of Bitcoin over the years. Cool

To understand the Russian government's viewpoint, they should ban Bitcoin and other forms of currencies from public use to maintain the value of their currency to avoid currency collapse and therefore avoid economic collapse. BUT their government should probably be HODLing Bitcoin, and treat it like it's Gold.

Gold to pay for the war, and use Bitcoin if everything else fails.

I feel that all these competitions are probably waste of time for someone like me as my twitter account totally looks like a bot. I know that i wouldn't probably win even if it didn't, but I made it purely to read tweets or like them. Not to be active in xitter. And i am only followed by of bots Smiley. I could retweet more, but i feel that isn't bringing anything but more spam to already bot filled platform.

Even when i tweet responses with my shuffle username, i wouldn't take my account as a real thing myself Smiley. And frankly i bet those replies aren't even showing on their feed to them.

So maybe i'll stick on with just gambling on that site.

they dont mark cold storage as a red flag.. you have just heard that from your cult brethren who have their own motives. rather than reading actual regulations

as for people not paying tax, many do have ways to pay less tax, if you learn how
did you know in america you get tax breaks and rebates for many things even at poverty levels of income.. the sooner you learn the better your tax filings will result in paying less tax. but first you should learn them

I trust her words more than the words of a liar and a gaslighting-troll like you. After the disinformation that you have spread in the forum during 2016 and 2017 - during the scaling debate, telling newbies mere lies for you and your mentors' self-interests is very laughable. It would also be very laughable if people in the forum would currently trust you more than those people who gave you negative trust-ratings.
178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are Nassim Taleb's ideas useful in gambling? on: April 29, 2024, 09:09:04 AM

I have long wanted to discuss the following topic with users and participants in gambling discussions. Do you think Nassim Teleb's philosophy can be of any use in gambling? His various ideas and theories? Let me just list some of his ideas and you can comment on how, if any, benefits can be gained from this:

1. Ideas from the book “Fooled by Randomness.” There are many ideas that boil down to the fact that we often mistake randomness for a pattern.

This is very useful for those addicted gamblers, that keep on losing. They should learn that RNGesus is RANDOM, they're not being cheated, and their "losing streak" is merely a product of a random sequence of situations like the "winning streak".

Quote

2. Ideas from the book “Black Swan”. Strategies based on anticipation of the Black Swan.

A strategy based on a theory that's based on an idea about something absolutely unpredictable? Prepare to lose all your Bitcoins. Hahaha.
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Investing To Now Taxable Events on: April 29, 2024, 08:50:00 AM
the only options are to know enough taxlaw to know the loopholes to avoid tax in such events(legal)..

speak to an accountant/tax specialist

The TaxMan is always looking, you can't escape him.

if you use the exemptions in the tax law.. via researching and learning the tax law. even if the taxman is always looking. he cant do anything if your using their laws against them

tax avoidance(legal) is using their law exemptions(such as loans are non taxible)
tax evasion(illegal) is trying to play dumb, ignore laws and hide which is where you will get caught and cant escape

learn/research the difference

Get the context. None of that has changed the fact that the TaxMan is always looking and finding MORE reasons to take money from its citizens. Plus for ordinary people, what "tax exemptions" could they truly have? They're not like the rich who could set up corporations, and foundations.

if you are just cashing out small amounts like $10-$500 per time, then you just use the other exemptions like 'gifts'
if you are moving large amounts then you set up structures or use financial services set up

imagine CEX services but not set up as markets facilitating bids. but instead 'loan services' matching 'borrowers'(sellers) to 'loaners'(buyers)
same end result, different wording
just be sure to do your research to learn the exemptions.. then use them. there are many. but first you need to learn them so go research

You're merely talking about something else. Sure I will do the research, and sure an individual might have exemptions, but nothing from what you posted has changed the fact that the TaxMan is always looking and has always found reasons to tax you more. No one escapes the IRS, and every "exemption" you find, they will mark that as a "red flag" like how they marked something like cold-storage a "red flag".

Social media giveaway is always a hard pass for due to heavy number of participants while most of them can’t be verified if using multiple account for the entry. The giveaway post also received bunch of replies that makes it very hard to win.

For those kinds of giveaways, it's probably good to have the participants link their social media accounts used for the giveaway to their Shuffle accounts. The eligible participants will be the users who have made at least 10 bets in the casino during the past three months. I believe that wouldn't be very hard.

Quote

I once very active on this social media giveaway but never won a single giveaway. I only focus on tournaments using wager or challenge that give guaranteed rewards once you secure place or the requirements. Keep us updated if you manage to be lucky on this kind of giveaway mate.

More fees paid = more rewards.
