Its a shame we still have to use this thread but *someone* is still in control of a company asset...

BFL was worse than KNC

BFL was the inspiration for KNC going full chaotic evil.

I mean at this point it doesn't really matter who was worse because every single corrupt / scamming / unethical corporation got away with everything. KNCMiner got paid, BFL got paid, even Spondoolies got paid.

As evidenced by this thread words from Bitfury mean nothing, except perhaps that they're somewhat good at PR.

Yeah and unfortunately its a big one. They've certainly never scammed anyone but we just can't trust anything they say any more. We fell for it more than once and the rugs been pulled out from under us again and again. It also boggles the mind that after completing my 50th - and probably my last - hardware review, that there has not been one IRL picture or miner seen by a third party since their generation one boards. Bitfury, the leading hardware manufacturer of ghost hardware.

last why bitmain going private ?. !!! or your done dealing with it ? and finally see others point of view of how much the big guys really Don't care any more .

What do you mean by that? I don't understand the first part.

Gotta love that Ching-Chong Chinese quality.

We've had burnt units from loads of manufacturers, and given that Bitmain sells miners in the 10,000 - 100,000, its surprising you don't see more issues appear.

One of the RM1000s sold, 2 left.

Any possibility to upgrade the fans to quieter ones without losing cfm or compromising performance/cooling?

At stock speeds (of batch 1 anyway) the boards are pushing their absolute limit. With a moderate underclock I believe you could swap out the crazy loud fan for a 'normal' 120x35 which would bring the S9 back to S7 levels.
169  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: s7 overheating the PSU? on: July 10, 2016, 01:58:03 AM
A picture of your layout would be helpful. PSUs too close (and 'close' is actually quite far) to intakes or exhausts have their airflow ruined.

The new CX750M also sold. Dropped £5 off the other PSUs and lowered Avalon6 price.
173  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Universal Hash Board: Bitfury 28 nM "UHB_BM28NM" on: July 08, 2016, 10:09:37 AM
I've heard the easily replaceable hash board before (including from Bitmain) and it never quite works out the way you think it will. Have a look between the generations and try and work out how many Bitmain generations are a. board compatible and b. heatsink compatible and that'll give you an answer as to the sustainability.
174  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS][UK] Avalon6, many PSUs + accessories, 2x computers on: July 08, 2016, 01:16:27 AM
The two used CX750Ms are now sold.

I am really impressed that neither miner next to the burned up one were affected. In fact, I am impressed the whole house did not burn down.

Generally the materials used won't support combustion so unless something really catastrophic happens, the worst case should be as pictured. I don't remember what the certification series is called but I think boards are meant to self extinguish within 10 seconds or so.
176  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS][UK] Avalon6, many PSUs + accessories, 2x computers on: July 06, 2016, 05:32:14 PM
Hi mate, do you have any S2 fans?

Sorry, I don't have any which will fit an S2 as they're rather unusual at 140x25mm while also being very powerful.
177  Other / Meta / Re: How much percentage of the Bitcoin users use Bitcointalk.org ? on: July 06, 2016, 12:45:11 PM
The vast majority of bitcoin users are based in China simply because of their population base which is more than the entirety Europe and North America combined. Bitcointalk is nothing for the Chinese.
178  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BEWARE Bitmain S7/S9 failures and lack of warranty on: July 06, 2016, 12:42:51 PM
Interested on your thoughts on why it appears that three boards burnt simultaneously and separately? Didn't stop mining during overheat, controller issue, OC'ing or your PSU giving a funky '12V'?
179  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS][UK] Avalon6, many PSUs + accessories, 2x computers on: July 05, 2016, 11:14:50 AM
Added some new stuff
