161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League 2023/2024 on: April 19, 2024, 08:40:52 PM
This was one of the rear positive things with my predictions this week, everything else for Champions League was worst ever for me Embarrassed
It was a great day for Southampton, now they are only 5 points less than leader Ipswich and they have one match less!
Title race and EPL promotion race is more interesting than ever, and I already have some ideas for this weekend predictions.

More or less the same story for me. I didn't actually predict too badly. I saw the right teams progressing, but putting it all on ML accas was what led to ruin.

The itch to go big on Saints is hard to scratch -- you wonder if this is a hot run of form or the "light" before extinguishing. Leicester, Ipswich, Leeds, can't all keep going on to drop points, can they?
162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: April 19, 2024, 06:54:12 PM
6 point yellow cap winner*, yay...my biggest flex so far.  Grin Cheesy

Without looking through all past rounds, this has to be one of the lowest yellow cap scores we've had...possibly not just this year, but ever. Given all of the draws, you'd think someone like vd309 would be there to win this round, heh apparently not.

* Udinese and Roma match is yet to be completed, which could, of course, affect the final standings in Round 32.  I'm not sure if the federation has set a new date yet, but they would only need to finish the last 20 minutes of the game, rather than redoing the entire 90 as Luton and Bournemouth did in the Premier League not long ago.

I think I remember a 4.5 yellow cap a season or two ago, don't remember which pool it was, but that was either 2 or 3 correct outcomes. Still, it's a massive achievement, you should be proud of it, I know I would haha. Serie A's first result tonight a 1-0. Are we headed back to the good old days of single goal games? Well done, fellow!

Didn't know Udi-Roma would finish that 10 minutes or so -- feels pretty damned weird, but maybe we get a cracker of a game.
163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Bundesliga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: April 19, 2024, 12:35:26 PM
Thanks for the reminder, as always. Absolutely beyond me with so few games left so I'm only trying for the yellow caps now. Leverkusen to lose, Mainz to lose, Bayern to lose, why not?

Bayern are going to be protecting every member of their squad for Real, even if it's weeks away. Alonso will do the same no doubt for a dual-pronged attack on trophies. What a luxury!

Eh goddang de Minaur, he decided to drop out to some guy I only recognise barely. And Tsitsipas's path to the final is now clear, of course, now I ignore him, he'll do what it takes, won't he?

And goddang Milan, you just want to lie down and die? Thought Pulisic and Leγo would at least give their utmost. BSFL slipping away from me?

Re Arsenal not even going all in late in the game, I don't get it either. It's your first appearance at this stage in a long time, it's a fragile Neuer, we needed to see everyone throw the dice.
165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | QFs on: April 18, 2024, 06:34:11 PM
Two English clubs lost in the Champions League yesterday... Judging by Aston Villa's current game, they will also lose to Lille... I wonder if Liverpool will be able to score 4 goals against Atalanta today? Grin I don't know why, but all the top EPL teams have terrible results... Villa can't even make a dangerous moment...

I knew they'd ben in trouble once they allowed Lille a goal in the first leg, just didn't expect it to be so soon like this. Not over though, far from, Villa still have a goal in them somewhere and they will fancy themselves if it goes to penalties.

Edit: and they scored just as I was posting this. 3-3 on aggregate, took a deflection but you have to keep making your luck. Game on!
166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | QFs on: April 18, 2024, 03:11:22 PM
Hey fellas. Crunch time for Liverpool. No one's going to expect them to qualify, you have to score three goals, and not let in any, too bad for the away goal ruling, otherwise 4-1 would still get us through but no need for fantasies, let's just try our best and everything else falls into place, or doesn't.

No one interested in a 4/1 West Ham upset with probably hungover Leverkusen? I know I'm not haha.

So close, so far, but nothing matters this season if we don't win another trophy, so we might as well go all out tonight on Liverpool to somehow qualify past Atalanta, no? That requires at least a 3-goal margin win.

200 units at Sportsbet on Liverpool to qualify to SF vs Atalanta @5.71. Other odds: 5.25
Units advantage: 92

CLS63 big winner (others like Woodie also won big points with the unlikely plays of 1 goal only for Bayern/Arsenal), now sniffing the behinds of Hhampuz and cryptofrka.

I won some points, but now need to go for broke to break into top 10 in the final submission. OK night for me. If Real had won though, I'd have pocketed a nice bit of satoshi on my 12/1+ acca. As it is, they only qualified via penalties.

Tables are all updated. You might be confused to see some submission info changed under Bonus Outcomes but I only did this to fix the broken form. All original submissions are saved, and I think these are correct. As usual, if you feel I'm mistaken, send me a PM!

@buwaytress I'm ain't reading all that, I just want to know if my pick for this round is valid. I can adapt to any rules, I don't have any problem with that.  Wink

Padi they were valid. But it didn't hit anyway =(
169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: April 17, 2024, 09:56:01 PM
So we who believed in the old names of Champions League got through, I would have been out of this contest if I didn't get both right, so at least I only trail by 1 goal against mitchr4 (phew). Pep must be feeling so hollow after celebrating the first save from Modric. Modric must be thanking his lucky stars too.

Still a bit sad I didn't win my Real/Bayern acca. But Citeh out makes me happy. Not bad football, now we go to the semis where we can still have a new winner, and maybe even BVB. Anyone should feel they can beat Bayern, and even Real, really.

I don't remember any other match in which Manchester City had this much difficulty in creating chances. Still they managed to extend the match with De Bruyne's goal and became the favourite of the round again.

To be fair, they had 15 corners to Real's zero at one stage, and at least 8 shots on goal, so they created chances, they weren't very good quality by their standards and just were a lot poorer at finishing them (sorry Haaland, you didn't shine).

Are you as happy as I? Wink

henrys, not sure why you started a project with these guys when hugeblack pointed out the most obvious red flag (template sites pics for their team page or AI generated even). That's at best, as hugeblack says, which means they're amateur and don't have the right principles a creative should have. At worst, these are fake profiles created to scam people.

My suspicion is they'll deliver templates, stolen or tweaked, and you'll pay something. Seen several "Teams" do this now in crypto. They claim social media management, especially, but it's all bots and AI doing the work and since most people can't tell chatgpt content, they get by very well.

You're better off getting freelancers on this forum (or actually on Upwork, many in tech will take crypto).

I'd rather we don't give these guys more exposure than necessary.

King of Clay put up some fight over there even in the first set, fought back from 2-0 to break at 3 apiece, but man he looks unusually hot and bothered to me now, going to have to find a way to come up with something special. Forehands still looking fiery from him, but nothing the Aussie can't deal with so far.

Odds are 4.4 for the comeback, it's a weird feeling wanting Rafa to find a way, at the expense of my BSFL -- and I need all the points I can get now that I'm down to mitchr4 2-0...
172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now that Bitcoin is no longer digital cash? on: April 17, 2024, 03:03:06 PM
What do you mean by taken over? They may have taken over your media space, but certainly not mine.

I "got" into Bitcoin in 2016 p2p. I'm still doing p2p now, it simply makes sense for me to use the network I've trusted (and who trusts me). I still have to scramble for a different wallet each time someone wants some other currency, Bitcoin's simply the easiest for me, the one I trust in the most, the one I know will always have a willing buyer wherever I travel.

I don't know if that circle ever really did shrink. It's just other circles have grown. But the premise of digital cash has never lost its meaning for a lot of people.

Edit: just saw stompix's post above mine and I agree, in the real world, everyone else might see Bitcoin differently, but I still tend to think those like me who found Bitcoin as a solution to every day problems like cross-border payments and remittances still see Bitcoin serve the same purpose. Yes, a lot more people I know online ask for payment in doge, ltc etc. But these are people who see and use crypto as cheaper alternatives to debit card or bank deposits for, say, gambling. Crypto was never a solution for them but a better alternative.

Outside of CEX, I couldn't sell doge/ltc/eth as easily as Bitcoin where I travel or need to send money to, it's been that way since 2016.

Hey guys, the form broke despite testing earlier, so the table will not automatically adjust. Oops! I've added points won but missing from totals to the far right of your row under the MD9 tab, if you want to see, but don't worry, I'll update the Season tables after tomorrow's games.

Trust buwaytress, trust in #HonestBukmaker.

Edit: Form is being adjusted as we speak, so don't worry if you see funny numbers. I'm just counting the bribes to see who gave me the most.

Ref dismantled Barca game so early. Not using it as an excuse of course and it's not like I had any money but the game stopped being fun once Araujo left the field. Still had good moments, just never fun to watch a team like Barca suddenly change play so soon. Yamal out and some guy I never heard of in (sorry not a big La Liga guy), and it was just unfun.

Poor quality game at half time with 2 goals but little else, so switched to BVB in search of meaning to life during mid-week football. Good thing I did too, that game went to hell judging by the scoreline.

#The_Sky_is_Blue_Citizens
My prediction City win 2-1.

I never would have guessed we had a Citeh fan in our midst, you should pipe up more in BSFL/EPL so I know who to direct my hatred towards Wink Aren't you a happy treble chaser? =p

Looks like you've wrapped this up all in 33 minutes. Armstrong, Adams to the fore. Didn't watch this, of course, eyes elsewhere but their score was just below UCL on Livescores.

Happy to see them starting to take advantage of all those games in hand. Now I hope they haven't tired of so much football. 5th game since the one I watched just two weekends ago!

Ready for me, mitchr4?
My current position is very difficult as I am in the relegation zone. Although the round has just started, it seems that it will be difficult to reach the middle and even the top position.

Ready or not, I must be ready to face you and I should win.

This is going to be some kind of round. 9 different answers, so we have every bit of the round to look forward to, except for Bayern (can we really say the only thing we agree on is that Arsenal won't progress?).

I'm slightly worried about my NBA picks -- I went completely out of what I'd normally do here, which is to look at odds and H2H. Instead I treated this like a DOTA bracket but now wonder if I outsmarted myself.

Nadal was dominant today, there are a lot of submissions close to the deadline that have him (they were waiting for his win). It's great to have him back, but he's got De Minaur next - this is where I feel he is ending the tournament.

Yeah, I thought the exact same way, so went for the Aussie, I want Nadal to win this of course, but there's so much lost when you've been out for so long. Still, happy to lose if it means I get to see Nadal going all the way.

So many late submissions, feels like this round was a record! 14 in the last hour.
178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +97043 units on: April 16, 2024, 04:53:53 PM
Hooray Villa, boo Liverpool. The time your opponent slips up, you do too? Crystanbul or Crystalgate, Palace really has our number.

Liverpool's last three games xG stats were 3.5+, 2.3+ and 2.7+ and we only scored 2 in the first. Worst, last three games xGA were <1, 2, and <1... and we let in 6 goals.

Bad luck, but that's how the ball rolls. I'm so tempted to go big on Champions League but perhaps I'll sit back to enjoy tonight, and put a simple acca on Champions League royalty:

100 units at Sportsbet on Bayern and Real to WIN vs Arsenal and City respectively @12.32. Other odds: 10.80

Sorry guys! I was so sure I responded to questions last week. This isn't the first time I convinced myself I replied so either I'm dreaming about BTT in my sleep, or my mind makes things up, but I'll try respond belatedly. Others who responded are more or less correct, anyway!

Tagging Igebotz, cryptofrka, swogerino to try answer everything together.

Everyone who submitted (except one haha) surprisingly submitted correctly. MD9 submissions included questions for the second legs today.

MD10 predictions will be the final Matchday. And will keep to the original coverage in OP so MD10 will cover:
- ML or 1x2 picks for Semifinal 1st legs
- Bonus outcomes for Semifinal 2nd legs
- Bonus outcomes for the final

Yes, Superbru's result is based on score After Extra Time, if there is any. Penalty shootouts don't factor in.

=

In summary, I overlooked that you need many more matchday than Superbru has habitualised us to make, with this different format. I considered and even tested doing multiple submissions, but it proved to be too complex for the current form and I thought, not worth confusing everyone for a few more rounds. So yes, it sucks you can't place bets on the final... but to make up for it, there will be outsized odds for those willing to stake points on the Final outcome this early.

Promise next season (if I'm hosting) it'll be much smoother and hopefully, more challenging. But not so much that it'll put people off haha.

Trust me, you won't miss much, final will be super boring.

Oh man... Did you have to put NBA in the questions? I hate American style of leagues where you can play well all year, but if you lose four games in the playoff, it's like you did nothing. Now with that play-in tournament I see that in basketball is not the same as in ice hockey. Also, I hate basketball Grin

That play-in bracket thing (trust that they come up with such a term haha) looks suspiciously like the top/bottom e-Sports brackets of Dream League. Oh, it's okay, we can lose this one but win the next one and make sure we end up as a lower seed.

I don't hate basketball, or any sport really (don't ask me about cricket or I'll upset some people) but these systems are just so dire, aren't they?

London Marathon, today this Beijing edition had some controversy. Totally not rigged (watch the video): https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20240415-beijing-half-marathon-probes-embarrassing-win-by-chinese-runner
