Best of luck, bullrunbro. Don't you love the freedom of freebets? It brings out all the risk-embracing behaviour in me...

Amazing winning tickets for you on two big underdogs  Shocked
It is not coincidence that you are holding the first place in BSFL Division 1 competition!
How much are you charging for special lessons to teach me how to find this underdogs myself Smiley

No charge. It's a really dumb tactic that works until it doesn't haha. I used to actively post 90% of my bets on my "value betting" thread, but have far less time now to take care of that so I only post the "tastiest" bets there. No wins so far this season, but it's so simple.

Problem is most people have no stomach to lose 10+ or even 20+ tickets in a row, which often happens to me. But you get good streaks of 2 or even 1 big hit and it's nett green :p

BSFL position is some luck. Can't count how many points were won on injury-time goals, accidents (tour de France), and pure RNG...

I dont think they are so stupid, maybe they wanted to wash money and clubs are doing it all the time Wink

Careful, truth hurts =p

Much as you want to hate City, and point to their depth and money, I begrudgingly agree with Ige: Pep knows what he's doing. You can have all the money and talents but it guarantees nothing without the right architect. Chelsea and Everton prove this. Newcastle probably understands this, hence not splashing out.

I really would like to see Pep managing a team with financial limits, though. Say, like Spurs?

It's a dream to have a club that sanctions a manager to get the talents he needs, and give him full focus on tactics. Klopp used to have that, but since we lost Edwards and Ward, we have (all due respect) a far inferior replacement (some retired German GK) so now he is forced to assist with acquisition and so no longer has talent brains helping out, and we suffer because he has less time now to enforce his ideas.

Liverpool doing the job much easier than expected today but I sort of think this is more about Aston Villa. Still very small sample size but it seems to me that Villa will be excellent against smaller clubs and then loose big against stronger ones. They were nowhere against Newcastle in second half, they are really poor today and in between they destroyed weaker opposition.

Could have been even better for LFC today if Nunez were just a bit more clinical, but he scored last week when it was important. Who cares about today Smiley

Hate to say it, but truth. Villa rolled over and respected us too much. Tried from distance, and rushed their shots. The last time I remember them playing a Big Six well was when they were 2-0 up against City on final day 2 seasons ago... they allowed 3 goals after that and I think psychologically never recovered.

Nunez still got 9 points for an assist and I guess bonus points in FPL? I don't mind, either, he loves the post though...

Don't forget, they thought highs were over in 2012. They thought the same in 2016 when I met people in chat. I personally talked to long-tune Bitcoiners in 2018, fresh off the 2017 high and in withdrawal, thinking that was it too. I interviewed someone who exited at 10k, he was sure those were the best days (good for him!).

I only started my first "buys" taking the crappiest paying jobs. Dollars! Despite the chatter surrounding Bitcoin. I only seriously earned in 2017 onwards. So, yes, I could never become rich but six years on, I know I saved more than I ever could in fiat. I had an emergency in '20/21 I could actually afford because I had Bitcoin.

Most importantly, I have monetary freedom to earn without restriction. Anyone can pay me. I can receive payment from anyone.

Really, it isn't about being rich. Value's a nice bonus but it's hardly the only benefit of Bitcoin. Don't lose out because you're blinded by the delusion of overnight wealth.

Wow guys. I totally forgot about MajSev... and just caught up now with the new prize structure. Missed 3 matchday so I have 35 games to get at least 3 on average to qualify for the $1k freemoney. Game on, everyone! Oh, nice hit, Bitiniy!

Of course, well done to the grand prize winners. Any chance we know who they are? I totally missed out!

Salah, always, for Liverpool. Won't be around forever, but enjoy him while he still is...

So we already know one guy who'll play in Div 1, and it's one of the quietest players across all leagues. Last season's La Liga winner by the way, which he did on final day, and currently in top spots in a few pools. I'm familiar with the user, but only because he's played in all our pools several seasons now. Kinda goes to show the rest of us are a lot of talk but we should be paying attention to these under-the-radar players, huh?

@jeremypwr we really took it to the end, didn't we?

@CLS63 you're running it hard all season, I'm frankly exhausted from the effort but we have 3 more rounds and go h2h in Round 12 so let's put on a show for this Division, eh?

@cryptofrka I like this format, it's really intense, 2-legged seems tiring, but hey, we're all eager to slug it out. Of course, there will be guys like Igebotz who need more stamina, getting tired by Round 10 haha

Now if anyone's still on the sidelines, wondering whether or not it's worth betting at Sportsbet and joining the multiple forum pools sponsored by the very same, here's another reminder of all the added value you get.

Yes, the pools and BSFL are paid participation (with the exception of BSFL lower leagues that are free-of-cost), but you play for guaranteed prizes that are almost certain to return your money... and you qualify for all manner of freebets. Took home $40 last week (4 freebets of $10 each) for my undisputed brilliance in Division 1 (haha) and put my faith in Chelsea's continued rot and Spurs' resurgence.

Another freebet went to my faith in Liverpool and Belgian prowess in lower UEFA cup competitions. Easy, right?

I don't understand my internet today. Down right at Liverpool match. Data works but I'll kill it if I stream so I'm stuck with beers and live commentary and BTT haha

A week of surprise results I would call this so far with Chelsea losing and also Newcastle losing,
Chelsea was a surprise but not the Newcastle loss.

Last season, Chelsea and Spurs and United were the gifts that kept on giving. I took 2 separate freebets involving Chelsea's loss but actually felt confident enough to follow up with this one:

My regret was not doing it earlier when you could easily get 9/1 with a price boost. Chelsea, United, for the time being, if you see 7/1 against them, take it. Depending on Liverpool, go against them too -- but judging from odds, bookies don't rate them too well.

^ Yup, that one's a "No". I felt Inter would be the concern but Lazio got their act together and kicked you and me out of that question. I usually go "no" on these questions but Napoli fooled me. Nice notice on this tie featured a second time, casperBGD, I didn't even remember. Please do your best against CLS63, I'm worried about him chasing Wink

Oh and Ons! Ons! That took me to a draw with my man jeremypwr (was close, wasn't it, though?). She knew she'd barely scraped through, if anyone saw her post-match, she was warning her husband he would be working hard tonight, lots of massage required, haha. Does anyone know where to find all post-match interviews with everyone? I swear, that's part of the pull for me in tennis.

Rare! Of all the degens I've ever come across in life, yours truly not excluded, I remember you with strong sentiment, for the circumstances that our paths crossed.

Why you've decided to do another random giveaway I'll never try to ascertain, but Bitvest, if I may echo your musings, truly is one of the last bastions of a bygone era where we diced all night, cussed all day, and threw our coins and lives away for a moment of mad foreverness.

You're almost tempting me to go back to BV but haven't checked in much since I withdrew all my LTC and DOGE investments in 2020/21 (sadly, liquidated before doge went to 1k sats!).

Good luck, degens. Enjoy a rare moment with one of crypto gambling's OGs.

Anyone is doubting Real not to win this match against Getafe? If they don't then they will mess my 8 fold 😟
Getafe just scored.

LaLiga seems very unlucky to me so far.

You have yet again Bellingham to thank. He has no scored winning goals in how many, three games? I know it's way early in the season but they should probably start thinking of erecting a statue in the locker room for him.

I know I am over him already but am still so envious Real got his signature...

Right, so that didn't work out, but I'm reassured that I'm picking the right games for potential upsets even though BVB came away with the draw.

As intended, Gladbach is my next pick. They do really well h2h and I know Kane is there now to prevent another humiliation but I feel we can back psychology today.

100 units at Sportsbet on Gladbach to WIN vs Bayern @10.46. Other odds: 9.60

Running advantage after 7 bets: +625 (+86)

Come on Everton you can do it! Said everyone before Sheffield scored 2 lol
Even better, Pickford put his team behind. When you think the Toffees can't be topped, they top themselves. Least Danjuma got them back in.

I was watching CL draw. We will have a CL without Liverpool this season. What a pain. I think I will support Newcastle this season LOL. Arsenal and Utd have very good chance to overcome the group stage. Nothing to speak for City LOL

Anyway, match day starts tomorrow. Who are missing their picks. I will do it in a few hours.

Did you see Liverpool's group in Europa? Hey, at least we rekindle romances that haven't been stoked since... never. First time meeting LASK and  Union St G... last time we met Toulose was a UCL qualifier post Istanbul =)

I went for Sunderland in my prediction. Not because I think Saints are shit, I just think they're bound to lose away and the Black Cats are formidable at home. I know this is easier to say now they got the lead, but it's a nice early opener for Saturday football.

Here's my rare all-favourites acca (Boro come on):

1174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Bundesliga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: September 01, 2023, 09:34:21 PM
@cygan I think slowly but surely we can stir our discussion about the first coach getting sacked towards Edin Terzic instead of anyone else... Cheesy

I am baffled. When I saw the 2-0 lead I thought that they are going nuts and celebrate a goal fest, but Heidemheim stayed in the game all the time. They didn't have any big chances for a very long time, but they also were not dead in the water. A few times they had their shots and got closer and also into the box of Dortmund, but this is Dortmund's insanity at its best.

I knew BVB were shaky so I actually put a bet against them, but I picked a solid win in this pool, and yeah, it looked rosy until they shot themselves in the foot, typical you might say, but yeah, they've just given Bayern the impetus.

Of course, Gladbach might still have a say here first but that's another pipedream...

Not one in this pool went fr anything less than a 2+ goal win except Ulven. Bookies won big tonight!
1175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +90170 units on: September 01, 2023, 03:28:25 PM
Why didn't I listen to my own wisdom and just go for an Ajax upset last night?

Another loss, but this is normal. Easiest pick of the day is a BVB home loss. They haven't looked convincing but nooks are insistent on a big win, I like the odds.

100 units at Sportsbet on Heidenheim to WIN vs Dortmund @10.90. Other odds: 10.00
Units advantage: +90

Running advantage after 6 bets: +539 (+90)
All-time cumulative: +90,589
Running units after 5 bets (0W|5L): -500 (-100)

United sucks (and even though I'm a fan of them, I wanted Forest to win so that TH would get another flick on his impudent nose). Maybe your plan against Chelsea is good, but it seems to me that the idea with United is not very good - the bookmakers already see the real strength of this team and the odds for their games are already fair.

Heh, that's a weird thing to say for a fan but I said the same when Roy Hodgson was in charge of Liverpool so I get it. You might be right, but I'll sit and see. All I know is City odds have adjusted hugely over the past 2 seasons. Used to see 20/1 easily and now barely 14/1 against Fulham! So I need to dig better, but the days of big big wins against the champs look dried up.
1176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: September 01, 2023, 01:37:29 PM
Damn, as soon as I used my free transfer I saw the news about Ansu Fati to Brighton!

Don't get me wrong I don't think he'll explode but he seems a fair-value addition (I still need to clear Callum Wilson from my squad) and should fit my budget.

Fun fact> Spur spending less than Aston villa is the reason they are trophyless in the last two decades. Money gives you trophies and history ask Mancity and PSG. Grin

Ask Chelsea, just don't ask them after 2021 Wink

Definitely don't ask Everton!

Thanks for the reminder, cygan. I put my picks in already and I have backed three upsets today.

I wasn't following Bundesliga much but I again like Freiburg win, (bet on that + Doan goal is 6/1). Gladbach's given me a lot of joy in past seasons vs Bayern too, so for no other reason other than psychology, I not only bet on them but put my picks for them too.
1178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 7000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: September 01, 2023, 10:31:39 AM
Pretty strange to see all WTA seeds still alive on R3 but this is where the cracks start to appear -- pleased I went with all "yes" but you never count chickens in this game. Men's top 2 haven't dropped a set yet!

Agree about the sets thing for women, which is what I mentioned earlier. More opportunity for upsets. I actually used to like betting on 3:1 and 3:2 for live men's on the favs but Djoker's been imperious lately.

I finally have a football match going my way to give me an advantage, I don't remember the last time such thing happened, I just believed Hacken have been doing very well lately and Aberdeen are the exact opposite of that, so it was just really easy going with Hacken based on my guess, glad it worked out well for me, maybe I can't finally get a win on the board again after almost 2 months without one.

It was always a risk. Haecken scored 1 or 0 goals in their last 10 away games. I think when they scored their second it was 2 from 2 shots on goal vs 5 from Aberdeen at that stage. This was luck in the first half to me.

I hate myself for always losing points on those 50-50 questions.

I've generally been 50-50 this season with the 50-50s, but I feel like it's been going the way of the very very slight "lower-seeded" team in even odds. Last round it was Canada over France, this one is Haecken (their odds improved yesterday though).
1179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Qualifiers on: August 31, 2023, 06:50:16 PM
Ludogorets can't beat Ajax (I fell for that trap last time around) can they? One can argue the three-goal cushion could tempt players to dream complacently and maybe they lose? Nil-nil at half time, temptation to wait this out.

The home team should be the favorite here but if we look at the betting market they are more favorite Hacken to qualify and we don't know the reason. I'm not going to take any chances in this match I mean I'm going to ignore who will qualify but I'm interested in the both teams to score option I assume they will do it again like in the first leg because this match is very decisive so both teams will do everything they can. I am attaching a screenshot regarding which team is predicted to qualify, but this is only the bookies prediction we can believe it and we can ignore it.

Strange odds. Since Monday when I first checked, it's been absolute even, and when I looked earlier today, pretty much the same situation. But now, after seeing your post, I see the odds have, indeed, tipped in Haecken's favour.

It's my pick actually, but I'm not feeling extra confident here as I'm sure that's just the odds adjusting to market demand. Money must be heavy on the away team.

Game's starting!
1180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2023/24 | Qualifiers on: August 31, 2023, 06:12:32 PM
Yeah Rijeka holds so much last night against Lille, but in the end the tie exit from his hands.

For me Brugge win yesterday was a really big one, because Osasuna in his home its not an easy task to overcome, i know Brugge have more experience playing in europe than Osasuna, but Osasuna still playing in a much more high level league like the spanish one.

I always fancy the Belgians, and I got away with backing Antwerp last night (qualification for UCL) so I have no problem with Brugge again tonight but the odds that caught my eye was for Rapid Wien (which I posted on my thread) -- hugely experienced at this level, no doubt the Italians are probably better but I think they can nick this game. Not to mention they did win the home tie! Still 0-0 now.

Everything else is too dangerous for the odds, but I watched Kiev/Besiktas first leg and while it failed to live up to the fire, it was an ok game to see so maybe the return leg gets them more angry.
