1601  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Major Risks in Crypto Business on: March 04, 2021, 03:21:41 AM
I would say that one of the major risks of crypto is its inherent volatility, we don't necessarily have to avoid, in fact we have to embrace it because this is a good thing for bitcoin and to someone who wants to buy bitcoin at lower price, with a stable price, you won't be able to get a big profit margin in a long term hodling. I consider volatility as a risk for crypto businesses for the reason that if an average person were to engage or planning to engage in a transaction with the business and they see that they were paying the same amount but at the different rate which could be misinterpreted as something bad. We don't necessarily need to tackle this risk, as I have said earlier, embrace it because there are opportunities when volatility is present.
1602  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can / cannot replace the banks ? on: March 03, 2021, 01:12:29 PM
It is a temporary statement, the aim of  bitcoin is to eliminate cetralized systemm and this is the major function of the bank as it is being run by the government which is in turn a centralised agency. Gradually, Bitcoin has gained traction and still will gain more until it will then be used as a means of daily transaction amongst people as it already has the enablement for peer to peer systems.
Eliminating the current centralized system means that we will have to start from scratch. Bitcoin might gain enough traction but it won't be enough that it becomes the centerpiece, bitcoin should also be able to replicate the cashflow in the economy like how the current system is doing well enough despite its value being inflated every year.
1603  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Help!! Bitcoin Bounty on: March 03, 2021, 12:29:04 PM
Not as easy as you say, helping you with nothing but the blockchain address will not be of any help. You also need to provide evidence that you really got scammed because everyone can accuse anyone of anything and that will not be a good thing for this forum which is already rife with scammers. You can move this thread to Scam Accusations board by clicking the move topic on the lower left of this thread and then find the appropriate board and follow the Scam Report Format.

Bitcoin is irreversible, so what you're looking for?
@Jawhead999 is right, you can't take the money back but you can help in spreading awareness about this scams.
1604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cambridge Bitcoin Electricity Consumption Index - The impact of BTC in the World on: March 03, 2021, 11:43:06 AM
0.6% is not a very large amount. Also, the proportion of renewable sources in electricity production is growing with every passing year. Why no one is talking about the environmental footprint of minting coins and printing banknotes? How much ecological damage is done by the mining of metals that are being used to mint coins? Also, how much forest is cut down every year, for printing banknotes? Once mined, Bitcoin is indestructible. On the other hand, banknotes and coins need to be replaced time to time.
The reason that no one is talking about it is because they have no relevance to their agenda which is to point out how bitcoin consumes a lot of electricity to operate. And if they talk about it in the same realm as bitcoin then they would end up dwarfing the amount of electricity that bitcoin compared to the ones that they put together with it. Banknotes that are out of commission can be used to make fertilizers depending if the bank note is made up of cotton or if it is made with polymer then there isn't a need to replace, it's not bitcoin against the world after all, they just want it to look like that.
1605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest news for BITCOIN in 2021 🔥🚀 on: March 03, 2021, 11:05:32 AM
~
It isn't that big for anyone but I guess some people might consider it. I agree that this big news for bitcoin in 2021 is a instrument of growth for the next years. I guess this is just a stepping stone to a much bigger achievements that would definitely achieve someday. Bitcoin just only fueling the other goals that will achieve in the future. Bitcoin gaining many ATH this year is just an example of having a good background eventhough these past few weeks, bitcoin and as well as the other coins experience correction, I can say that it is just a good jump start to a even motr higher achievements.
Well, we are still only 3 months in 2021 that is why I choose those news as much bigger news than the OP. I know that there will be something big that is going to happen in the future but I don't think that what hasn't happen yet is not a big news. We have a different ideas of big news so I respect that.
1606  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lowering the electricity bill by mining cryptocurrency on: March 03, 2021, 09:43:27 AM
This was a good analysis of mining crypto yet I don't think that this would affect a more thing about our electricity. Mining bitcoind are required a lot of time and effort. We are living in a new century so most of the things are online or by using internets and electricity. I think mining bitcoin can't affect the electricity bill yet in the other hand, you can use cryptocurrency in order to pay for your electricity bills and as well as other bills in your households. Bitcoin is a big thing today, many people are mined it and starting also, I guess it is not too late to mine but you must put a lot of effort and time in order to earn good.
Electricity is expensive if your country uses coal and fossil fuels as a general source of electricity, the time and effort is exactly the reason why bitcoin consumes large amounts of electricity. The current rate of bitcoin mined in proportion to how much you are going to pay for your electricity is currently not enough AFAIK, and if you can pay the bill but you still have other expenses such as food and daily necessities and some fun money if you want to keep your social circle, putting a lot of effort and time in mining just to do good is an expensive endeavor.
1607  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest news for BITCOIN in 2021 🔥🚀 on: March 03, 2021, 09:02:32 AM
Not even close for the title of "Biggest news for BITCOIN in 2021". In the first place, it's only a filing. They very well could decline this one, just like the past VanEck Bitcoin ETF filings. And even if it does get approved, it's not like we don't have things like GrayScale's Bitcoin Trust(GBTC) yet. It's a good sort of success for Bitcoin don't get me wrong, but probably not as major of an event as most people think.
Maybe we won't appreciate it right now but someday it will be instrumental to the growth. I wouldn't consider this the biggest news for bitcoin in what is happening so far in 2021, I would rank maybe the new ATH first and then the 1.5 billion USD purchase of Tesla as second. This is actually good because people who are investing in ETF's can choose this although if they are managed I think that it wouldn't make any difference.
1608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Many people think that Bitcoin is not a currency with practical uses on: March 03, 2021, 08:22:41 AM
~
And yes. Bubbles doesn't necessarily mean something permanently crashing. A certain asset/asset class being called a bubble mostly just means it's overpriced/overhyped and that it will heavily consolidate at some point.
I wouldn't necessarily consider bitcoin as a bubble though, it is not backed by any government like real estate bubble which can be popped and blown all the time. Considering that some people overhypes bitcoin but at the same time the prices are going strong despite the speculation that a burst will come is enough evidence for me to say that bitcoin is not a bubble or if it is, it must be a new kind of bubble.
1609  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Many people think that Bitcoin is not a currency with practical uses on: March 03, 2021, 07:13:18 AM
I won't even disagree that bitcoin is mostly used for speculation, because it's a pretty safe assumption. But even so, let's not pretend that it's not being used as a currency and as a store of value. Are we going to totally ignore it's important uses just because a lot of people use it for speculation?

As for the typical I've-seen-this-a-million-times bubble question, sure. It has bursted a couple of times in the past already. But every single time, the price floor has been higher.
Pretense will only get us so far, I still believe that bitcoin is both a currency and store of value so as not to garner any argument on which is which. I wouldn't really say that it is a bubble because I believe that once a bubble burst, there isn't any way that it can recover back like what happened in South Sea Bubble and Tulip Bubble, there are exceptions when defining a bubble though which is pretty confusing for me because Real Estate bubble burst but it seems to bounce back because of the government backing it up to grow again like what is happening currently in China.

1612  Economy / Economics / Re: holding bitcoin from early 2010 till today on: March 01, 2021, 07:13:42 AM
A lot people does. They are waiting for Monero Bitcoin atomic swaps to kick in at the end of this year. It is gonna be a interesting times to see all those old wallets come to life.
A lot of people I assume is going to be getting all their investment profits without the worry of being taxed. The prices will surely plummet when this happens, and I am going to be saving some fiat because that will be a golden opportunity to buy more bitcoin.
1613  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you define rich? on: March 01, 2021, 05:58:21 AM
I would define someone as rich when they have enough resources to not work so they can survive for another day. The question is a pretty vague one because one can answer based on spiritual, financial, social and physical aspect. But assuming that it will be an overall, I would say that a person is rich when they do not find the need to get petty amounts because they know that they can make more than ever.
1614  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam operations using YouTube comments! on: February 28, 2021, 10:46:00 AM
Is You Tube a trading site that should be the question -Newbies- should throw at themselves, the total stranger you sent your fund to trade for you, is as good in trading as only what they say they are or want you to believe they are and many times not what they are actually. Don't ponder on it. Statically sending funds for trading to w trader you know about on YouTube or social media will bare you open to scam.
Opportunity springs on places you don't expect though, even if this is a likely scam, we can't discount the fact that it falls under that phrase. The problem here is not the scams anymore because they are prevalent and easily detectable which means you can prevent yourself from falling into one. The more serious is how there are a lot of morons that grows up to become a gullible and crybaby adult, we have to reevaluate our education curriculum in regards to financial traps and scams because there is a clearly a lacking in that sector of education received by students and in the end we cultivate a generation of gullible and scammers.
1615  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [List] Bitcoin Savings Accounts Providing Interest on: February 28, 2021, 09:42:20 AM
The problem with all of these services is that you are giving up control of your private keys, so you are trusting the service not to run away with your coin, or let a hacker run away with your coin. If you are receiving interest for your deposit, the service is also obviously lending out your coin to other customers, which means you are also risking that borrowers will not repay the service in large enough quantities that the service cannot repay you.
Then don't put a lot of your coins in any of them, the risk of the amount lost is mitigated but the benefit is also lowered but in the end, the profits will speak for itself. I don't think that this websites will be vulnerable as back in the Mt. Gox days, security has been a thing and I think that this websites are definitely secure.
1616  Economy / Goods / Re: Selling Ten Sercas of Lunar Land (1777.58 Acres) Transferable - for 1 BTC on: February 28, 2021, 08:53:09 AM
That is a pretty expensive price for something that you might not be able to live on. I did a quick search and found that what you are selling is currently on the gray area of fraud and legitimacy, these kind of service has been banned in China because it was considered a profiteering scheme. Good luck selling that land because no one in this forum currently will live long enough to be able to make a homestead in that land.
1617  Economy / Goods / Re: WTB POKEMON CARDS (English, German) - Base Set, Fossil, Jungle - 1st Edition on: February 28, 2021, 07:47:15 AM

Did you even read my post above? lol.
I was pretty hazy and drunk at that time I was writing, didn't pay much attention. My bad  Grin Grin.
Yes, I have tried eBay. As stated before, I bought several lots on eBay already. I am also aware of the prices, of course.

I just bought three different 1st Edition lots within the last two weeks. It's obviously not as difficult as you make it sound. The market if currently full of sellers, who want to get rid of their "old" cards, since they heard of the recent price development. Of course, you can get holo cards as well.

So if someone wants to sell their cards for Bitcoin here is your opportunity.  Smiley
I hope that you can get what you want, I am also looking for a Pokemon card but as I have mentioned in my other post which is the 1st Edition Holographic Charizard which is by far the most expensive card in the 1st edition.
1618  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think about borrowing against your bitcoin? on: February 27, 2021, 01:01:32 PM
Debt is the worst thing you can do to make yourself financially stable, consider debt as your last resort for anything, debt comes with many things beside the money that comes with it, the favor that you need to do because you are indebted is one of them. Borrowing money to grow it is the most crazy thing because instead of getting the full benefits, there are people that you need to pay some part of what you reaped because you need to payback what you owe and sometimes with interest. Debt only works if you have a company and your company is doing well to make the borrowed money make more money so that when you pay it back, you won't have any problem financially.
1619  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial terminology guide on: February 27, 2021, 11:43:40 AM
I don't know a lot about this terminologies but you can use this link to search for those terms. The link that I provided is pretty versatile for financial knowledge. You can use Google for this terminologies to be honest.
1620  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin become standard currency for online shopping? on: February 27, 2021, 10:45:36 AM
The above gateways would easily take care of that part.
I have to update my knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency integration. I had been believing that this kind of thing has been a problem for bitcoin and I thought it wasn't solved already. If it is solved then the only problem that OP is facing is advertising his/her e-commerce website.
