1607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is SCHARMBECK Shutting Down? on: February 11, 2014, 01:43:05 PM
I was lucky enough to sell my Scharmbeck shares (SBFS) and my WDC before the news. From my own experience in the financial markets I noticed that many times price direction is truth.  When SBFS opened to anyone interested and the price of WDC didn't even have one decent spike up I knew that something funny was going on.  Insiders or people with a lot of coins were dumping any chance they got keeping the price down.  The price direction often tells the story before it's leaked.

Seems like you're on to something  Grin

Well, I never understood why this community continuously refers to these offerings as IPOs and investments.  It's an incorrect term for these purposes and it will only serve to get us in trouble.  I think each individual crypto coin could be considered a commodity if anything, but they don't trade on a centralized commodity exchange and the CFTC hasn't issued a ruling yet.  As long as it's clear that you aren't offering an investment with the possibility income, then I don't think they will be considered securities.  Could the price rise in the open market?  Sure, but so can the price of milk.  It's a product you are offering, not an investment opportunity.

Just my 2 cents.

But we have an obligation to work within the legal framework.

There are a lot of guys on this forum who want to make the world better and u have lost them right now. Sad, but I see that success of Ethereum will be beneficial for banksters, not for ordinary people...

You know, I just don't understand this sentiment. Does our government have problems? Hell yes. Does our government nonetheless serve a vital function in the world? Hell yes.

IMO, setting up this organization in a legal, legitimate manner will bring in 100 people for every 1 anarchist that's turned off by the idea of following the law.

Bottom line: You have to operate within a legal framework, or else you risk going to prison. Rightly or wrongly. Most people don't look forward to the idea of prison, not to mention that it would be rather difficult to maintain the Ethereum code while sitting in a jail cell. Or while running from the cops. Or while hiding in a third world country. Go figure.

Which crypto law would Ethereum be breaking that the other 300 or so crypto offerings didn't?

IMO, this is the biggest hindrance in all of the IPO in crypto:

What are the legal issues holding up US investors?  Is it the risk of being accused a money launderer? Seems the new "witch".

I would also like to know this.  Thanks.

I was thinking about this issue while reading your quote.

Hi MercSuey,

Can you briefly explain, without giving too much away, how the MADEsparq project will impact the value of Crypto (I like this new short name for CGB)?  I'm a little fuzzy on this and I think others are as well.  Thanks in advance for any light you can shed.
1615  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Virtual Precious Metal | The Next Generation of Crypto on: February 07, 2014, 01:17:06 PM
I woke up this morning and saw my 100 CGB @ .00101 buy order got filled.  Cheesy

Should have put my buy order even lower, but hey.. you can't have it all  Wink

I wonder where all these sellers are coming from?  There's only 1mm coins.  It could be just day traders realizing there is such a hard support line at .001.  It's a really easy trade to buy every time the price is close to .001.  I'm already satisfied with my position but I think I will do the same and just stick some orders in at .001 and maybe slightly below.

Awesome PSD!  Maybe MercSuey can give you some words to add about MADEsparq.

I noticed on the CGB website there is mention of the legalization of online gambling in the US as a benefit to CGB. I'm not sure it's beneficial to try and connect CGB with online gambling.  As of right now, online gambling is only legal in 2 states, NV and NJ.  I just think that most Americans still think of online gambling as 100% illegal and heavily connected to fraud and illegal activity.  It's definitely important to push CGB to be used as a medium of exchange, but I just don't like the association with online gambling.  Let me know what you guys think?
1618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Virtual Precious Metal | The Next Generation of Crypto on: February 05, 2014, 12:34:52 PM
This thread is starting to pick up nicely.

Every time price dips back between .001-.0011 we should have some bullets ready to fire.  .001 for CGB is a super strong support line.

Hi Elambert, I could not find any information about premind in thread. Would you mind to tell me that what is the percentage of premind for this one. Cheers.

0.94% was pre-mined and used for promotion and support.
Here is a link to the detailed ledger:

very impressive for the transparency of the premind. The more I understand about this coin the more it convinced me to buy more. Just bought another 2k today.

Congrats Percy! Sounds like your on your way to the 5k club!
i just joined  Wink

Congrats and welcome! We have 1k club members and 5k club members. Wonder how many in the 10k club?

My portfolio consists of only BTC and DACs now. I'm thinking of dumping BTC and moving some more assets to CGB so I can join that 5k club.  Undecided  BTC is like my cash equivalent these days.
