1601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HODL or not? BTC investors need to rethink their strategy as on: June 23, 2023, 11:50:09 AM
We've seen a lot of pump and dump movements in the past, and what we are witnessing now is just normal. Personally, when I see Bitcoin dump, it doesn't make me panic; in fact, I appreciate it because I know it will bounce back. The more I see these dips, the more I convince myself that the bull run is imminent.

In my opinion, we have already experienced a bear market with a long correction, and now Bitcoin is ready to achieve its all-time high (ATH).

So, keep HOLDING, as that's the easiest recipe for success
1602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Casinos Go Bankrupt Because of Player Wins? on: June 22, 2023, 11:17:33 AM
Is it possible for a casino to go bankrupt because a player gets a very big win?

I think maybe that's hard to happen if we look at casinos that are already big and well known. But suppose there is a new casino, and there are some players who are very good at playing, so they can win continuously, can the casino go bankrupt? or do they already have an algorithm or a way so players can't keep winning?

Never assume that a casino will go bankrupt due to players' big wins, as they are aware of their significant advantage over gamblers before they begin operating. Casinos have limits in place, even if a gambler is highly skilled, to prevent them from causing financial harm. In extreme cases, a casino may even ban a player.

Most instances of casino bankruptcy occur due to internal management issues and regulatory problems.
1603  Economy / Economics / Re: How do banks generate income? on: June 22, 2023, 10:38:16 AM
Try to investigate this online and you will be surprised by the bank frauds you would realize.

Can you cite an example of other banks regarding your accusation of illegal practices in banks? It would be better if you could provide evidence yourself to support your statement instead of suggesting that we search for bank frauds.

Mind you, you forgot to add that;

1. They launder money.
2. They broker onshore and offshore deals (both legally and illegally).
3. They steal money from customers' accounts through double and unexplainable charges.
4. They blackmail their customers and steal the money of the faint in heart.
    And many more...

I'm referring to this accusations.

Quote
3. They steal money from customers' accounts through double and unexplainable charges.

This one alone is impossible as bank account holders are not stupid, they would know if there are unauthorized transactions charge to their bank accounts.
1604  Economy / Economics / Re: How do banks generate income? on: June 21, 2023, 09:54:21 AM
Bank is an establishment known for financial services but what they do these days is way more than that. And the things they do are both legal and illegal, still, they cover up under the guise of the legality that covers the sector.

Mind you, you forgot to add that;

1. They launder money.
2. They broker onshore and offshore deals (both legally and illegally).

4. They blackmail their customers and steal the money of the faint in heart.
    And many more...

There is a lot that will always make me sceptical of banks.
This is not true. It's a serious accusation you've made here. I was once a bank employee in my life, and I know that bank is not involved in the illegal activities you mentioned. Do you think the regulators of the bank, particularly the central bank, would tolerate this? They would not, and if they discover any serious violations, they would promptly close the bank. Banks that deceive their customers have no right to operate a business built on trust.

As we know that banks are a business that promises big profits, banks collect money from consumers from savings to deposits, when banks get customers who want to save in the form of deposits, banks can freely rotate money, they give low interest to customers and apply interest high at least 2x so that banks get a lot of profit.

So how do banks promises big profits?
1605  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching Bitcoin is not do or die on: June 21, 2023, 07:42:50 AM
Investing in bitcoin carries inherent risks, so why would we compel anyone to invest in it?

Although we believe that bitcoin has the potential for future growth and can be profitable to invest in, we cannot guarantee it. Bitcoin is considered a high-risk asset, which explains why a majority of investors may choose not to invest in it. In fact, our goal is not to have everyone invest in bitcoin, but rather to encourage its use for daily transactions. This would increase the demand for bitcoin and reduce the supply through holding, which is the recipe for profitability based on the supply and demand factor.
1606  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If my annualized return is above 50%, am I doing well? on: June 20, 2023, 11:24:05 AM
You are doing well as long as you make yourself profitable. That would already indicate that you are doing well. Not everyone makes money in the crypto world, so you are lucky to earn consistently on a yearly basis. If you are not yet satisfied with your profit, then you might as well increase your capital. Even if you only make a 50% return yearly, that would already result in a satisfactory profit.
1607  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 19, 2023, 08:31:40 PM
It just happens that Donaire is gifted with vicious power and that will stay for a lifetime. Although he still needs good reflexes, speed, and timing in order to hit his target. So as long as Donaire can land his bombs inside 12 rounds then his chances of winning remain alive in every fight. Even the great Inoue was badly hurt and shaken. And it leads to the conclusion that if that was a prime Donaire it would've ended Inoue because the speed and stamina are still there to follow up and the Japanese will never recover.
The problem is, Nonito Donaire was much older when he fought Inoue for the 2nd time that's why the difference were so vast and clear that even made the fight end in just mere two rounds leaving the public in surprise, including me because I thought Donaire can somehow make a difference but unfortunately, even Donaire himself was shocked by what happened as he truly did not expect that Inoue will evolve like that since their first encounter.

Quote
I cannot remember the exact WBC rankings but I believe Santiago is ranked high since he got the chance to fight for the vacant belt? As far as I remember, #1 Moloney went the WBO route, #2 is Donaire, and #3 had a fight schedule last February which made him not available since the mandatory was issued that same month. I think it was Gaballo at #4 or #5. Santiago should be right there.
Not really the case for Santiago since he is not from the Top 5 and IIRC, he's not even in the Top 10. It's just that Donaire was desperate enough to find himself a foe to make the fight happen while increasing his chance to be a champion once more by picking a boxer outside the Top 10.
1608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 19, 2023, 08:08:27 PM
many folks have said that he (Jokic) brought the playing style of Europe towards the NBA.
And the truth is that from other region are the ones that's dominating the NBA on its own land.
When I saw one article about how the Miami Heat was defeated twice by a European, it made me smile. Dirk Nowitzki and Nikola Jokic. Truly, the NBA today is changing, thanks to the Europeans that had been coming into the league. Who knows, maybe Doncic is next. Another player who plays differently from other players. No such thing as the "hops" or "speed" but he can definitely score inside by only using his brain and his strong body. Vice versa of Ja Morant who is relying upon his speed and hops.

Nikola Jokic changed the way we look at NBA and especially at the younger players who never saw how Magic, Bill, and Larry did it. It's almost like this, the Joker revived a strong big man, not like a "Shaq" big man but more of a versatile big man. And, I have no doubts Jokic will keep on passing more records from way back some of us were born.
It just seems that the NBA isn't marketing Jokic for some reason but it's good that these Europeans have made a lot of changes to NBA's basketball.
Whilst those teams aren't focused on having a big man that can do almost everything, shoot outside, assist, get free-throw shooting, rebounds. Almost everything.
The Nuggets is so blessed to have Joker and they've managed to take care of him until they've finally got their first ever NBA title.
The same with what Dallas Mavericks did for Dirk Nowitzki, they didn't let him go, took care of him, and somehow managed to get a championship with him. I love teams that do this, just being patient and waiting for the right time with one loyal player. I wish the Denver Nuggets will do the same thing for the Joker, become the face of their franchise, and better a duo that will bring them another championship with Jamal Murray.

We can say it is really their time now. From being defeated in the bubble, to Murray being injured and Nikola Jokic shouldering everything yet he still made it to the playoffs without his co-stars. Jamal Murray is the key to their win, he said it and then he did it. He actually knows they will make it this time with his healthy body and then Michael Porter Jr. is also at the prime of his career.
The addition of Aaron Gordon is a big one instead of Gary Harris, they now have an elite defender who could stop superstars like KD, Lebron, and Butler.

Hopefully that will be the case and that they will really take care of what they have right now because it's not every time they can land someone like Murray especially Jokic who can make any team suffer without meaning it, but who knows, there might be a time that both franchise and player will have some misunderstanding on their contract. But looking at it right now, I think it's still safe that Jokic will remain a Nuggets for a couple more years.

Yes, it will be safe to say that Nikola Jokic will remain and play for the franchise for long because if his current contract will end and other teams will start pushing for a price just to get him, the Nuggets will always lead when it comes to figures so that they can still be with Jokic and build another team around him if it's needed in the few years to come. But right now, for at least 2-3 years, I'm pretty much inclined that they can still dominate the league while having the same roster as long as they will remain healthy and agile.

I agree with that as well, most teams in the league will certainly have a hard time penetrating though the Nuggets and get a win at the end of the day because they are now much experienced and can keep up with almost all of the teams in the league even if they build another superteam just to get rid the Nuggets and give themselves a lot more chances to win next season.

And just like what the Phoenix Suns just did, they now have Bradley Beal in their roster in-exchange for CP3 and few other picks. But I truly wonder if this team will have any difference and can create themselves an opening to arrive in the Finals next season.
1609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: June 19, 2023, 07:54:32 PM
Finally, the fight every boxing fan has been waiting for is now sealed. I guess this is already 99% happening. Odds are already released as well.

Yes, the fight is official sealed by both parties, odds are showing that Spence is the underdog.

Still, I think Crawford is winning this match. As a matter of fact, to be quite frank, although this is a battle of undefeated fighters, I don't see this as a 50:50 match. I agree with the odds. Spence deserves to be the underdog. The last time he fought was more than a year ago. And then he had no fight in the whole of 2021. In his last few fights, he only had a UD against the two Garcias, Danny and Mikey, and only a split against Porter, who Crawford knocked out.

I think one of Crawford's advantage here is that he can adjust on the fly, he can fight both lefty and orthodox and majority of his fights are won because of that as his opponents can't adjust to this style. And then his sharp shooting, he has a knockout power and he hasn't been chin tested in his career. As compare to Spence who almost goes down against Ugas. And if Crawford lands that left hand, we will see if Spence can hold or will simply go down because of the power. And yeah, he fought more than a year ago so ring rust might be a factor too.

Even here in the forum, a lot of users are rooting for Crawford to win. Well, this is a good challenge for Spence.
As he knows that he's the underdog on this fight, he has strong motivation to seriously prepare for this fight.
This fight is a lucrative one for both boxers, and they will be earning good money no matter what.
The OP can edit the date to July 29 though, happening in Las Vegas, Nevada.

https://www.mmafighting.com/2023/5/25/23737604/terence-crawford-vs-errol-spence-jr-finally-official-for-blockbuster-july-29-fight
Well finally one of the things that I had published occurred in my articles, I remember that there was a lot of controversy, because many said that it was a fake article, but I like that this type of fight occurs, however I am one of those who will undoubtedly bet against Spence, Spence finally remembered that boxers should not be afraid of rematches, that things here should Always be done as they are, because otherwise , it is easy for him to retire from being boxers and give way to those Boxers who if they want to give everything for the Sport and move Forward.

What rematch are you talking about mate? This will be Spence and Crawford's first encounter in the ring, either professionally or not. These two haven't met each other's destiny yet as this is the very first time they will fight after all the months of dancing back and forth. But yes, it's really hard to bet against Crawford because even if Spence is a lot more active or haven't been inactive, it's still clear that Crawford is more dominant in boxing against any boxer in the welterweight now. Although I'm seeing that this will be a very close fight.
1610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 4 Altcoins to look at in 2023 on: June 19, 2023, 07:19:52 PM
I just have eth among those four. Avalanche and Chainlink suppose to be okey for 2023, Avalanche expected to reach a milestone as well as Chainlink. As you mentiomed, Avalanche core developers supporting Chainlink but i doubt about dogecoin. Not Everytime memecoin will pump or reach new milestone. Whatever some selections by mine are, ETH, BNB, MATIC, APT as well as AXS are best according to my view
I don't know when the cryptomarket situation is going to rise. But I bought some altcoins during this bad time. I don't know how they will fare in the future. I bought bnb and MATIC and then bnb. I think I will invest in those coins.  I will be able to profit from these after a few years. But now if the situation of the market is worse then there is a possibility of my loss. I hope that the market will be better soon.

Nobody knows when will the market recover but a lot of people are already speculating that it's already near and the bull season will rise, what we should do is keep on taking advantage of the situation while the market is still selling coins for a cheap price because sooner or later, this situation we've had might not come again or might not be as low as we have it now. If you feel full already then it's time to hold and be patient, just to be safe though, I just invested on the top ones to minimize risks.
1611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 18, 2023, 08:48:02 PM
He said something post-interview after the Finals Game 5 that his Mama taught him. Something like not being hyped when you are up and not too down when you fall. That's how I understood what he said.
Jokic won't celebrate too much and he won't also feel down even if he loss. That's what I see with him and I think it's a good thing. He is just moderate, not in panic, not overexcited so he won't do anything stupid in his life. That might also be the recipe for why he is good when he is on the basketball floor. He is just calm.
Excellent teaching by her mother. I believe it has something to do with psychology. Similar to what I've been trying to do for the past three years, but not quite there yet. I do this to keep myself from overthinking, to stay calm, and to be more focused, especially when making decisions about different stuff and it actually works, and I feel better every time I did it no matter what the result is.
It's difficult to tasks to stay calm all the time but if you can do it, it will work like a charm. We can see how fast decision-making of Jokic is whenever he makes the assists. I think being too calm has a lot to do with why most of them are successful passes. A millisecond difference can change the whole game.
Jokic may have done some stupid things too like how he got back against Morris, but it's all Morris's fault. Then, there is a time he clotheslines Cam Payne just because he is frustrated with the referee. He is still human but I like how do things when the game is on.

Nikola Jokić recovered 'lost' NBA Finals MVP trophy before championship parade
“Basketball is not the main thing in my life. It’s something that I’m good at.”

Conversation with the Finals MVP, Nikola Jokic for NBA Today:

https://twitter.com/malika_andrews/status/1669146616463507456?s=20
Quote
As he explained to ESPN's Malika Andrews, he left the Finals MVP trophy in the room of longtime Nuggets equipment manager Sparky Gonzales.
Who will not love this guy? Down to earth. Not pretending. So honest. Funny.
I believe he is going to get one more ring, maybe two if the roster will be intact, without injuries. As I said in my previous posts, Jamal Murray will be one of the key ingredients for another championship. Hopefully, their management won't break that duo.

And they will be back for more, I have no doubts about that especially now that they are more experienced when it comes to playoffs mainly Finals where the games are more intense and hard. Jokic, Murray, Gordon, KCP and MPJ will be much more stronger next season and will probably be the #1 seed again in the West. I know it's quite premature to say that for now but that is just very possible to them.
1612  Economy / Economics / Re: Try to save money while you still can, will you ? on: June 18, 2023, 07:56:09 PM
Yes is good to save money because it helps when you are in need, it is very important for people to learn the habit of saving because saving is very important you don't have to spend everything you earn save more than you spend, no person prays for anything bad to happen but a life without savings is risky and dangerous.

Very well said, apart from saving, we should also learn how to diversify our investments so that we can invest more rather than sticking with a single investment because what we have right now is just a temporary and not a permanent thing where we can enjoy and depend on for the rest of our lives. And just like what is mentioned/quoted above, nobody prays for a tough situation but having some investments as well as savings will literally make your life more ease even in tough times.
1613  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dad's retirement money is invested in Bitcoin! on: June 18, 2023, 07:34:00 PM
It is wise to invest in bitcoin especially if you are investing with your own money and the amount you can afford to lose but now that you want to invest with your dad's retirement money, I think you should inform him first to get his approval since it is his money not yours and also you need to chose only bitcoin investment when he finally agrees so you won't end up losing all your funds in altcoin investment because none can be trusted because they have no future.

Before you invest also try as much as possible to get knowledge on the type of investment you want to do so you don't end up wasting the money because of lack of knowledge,I will suggest you HODL but that will be more beneficial for a long term investment.

This could be a wise decision but it is very important for us to understand the level of risk op is trying or the family is trying to take since Bitcoin had been in the bear market for long now and we don't know the next step whether the market in shoot out to the moon or will want to have a taste of more bear before taking a shoot out.

This is a very risky decision and it will be unwise if the contrary happens and the retirement fund is not finally up to what they have invested in Bitcoin. The market can be crazy and desasterous if things do not work out the way it supposed to be creatinh unnecessary loses.

I definitely agree, it will be okay if that money is just a spare but considering the fact that it is a retirement money, I think you guys should plan it well and definitely involve your father about the plans and every possible scenario, even the worse one, so that he will be informed about what could happen in the future if things go wrong and he will be not surprised if something happens. You guys should talk about the worse because the market is not giving any guarantees, and if after that you guys are still going to invest, then that's the time.
1614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you tired of waiting for the jump? Pls Hodl on: June 18, 2023, 06:43:21 PM
... Besides, I am one of the few BTC investors that always happy when it's bearish because it always presents a chance that may not happen again in the future.

You are not alone, I am one of them, I was not even happy when bitcoin went from 17k to 30k in the first few months of the year. That made me miss the opportunity to buy bitcoin under $20k, and to be honest, I prefer bearish bitcoin to bullish. Because I know that, once another bull market comes, buying cheap bitcoins will never return, I never wanted the bull market to go too soon.

I understand that we all gonna need some more time to buy and hold while the market is still bearish red because that is the only time and season where we can afford to buy cheap and discounted coins at a very low prices as we're not that rich to chase these prices when they are reaching another ATH. But somehow, even if we don't want it, the market needs to go in a cycle where the bullish season will come and will go after a couple of months.
1615  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: June 18, 2023, 06:18:18 PM

Tingin nyo guys.

Oo, yan talaga kulang nila.

Gervonta Davis attempting to serve his house arrest at the four seasons and then deciding he’d rather go spend it at a multimillion dollar penthouse is wild to me. He was really thinking that he’d get to use his house arrest like a vacation and just serve it wherever. He can’t be surprised to be back in jail as a result. He’s totally insane.

Indeed, he is now serving his jailtime in real jail unlike from what he have imagined after violating it.

Tank Davis Violates House Arrest, Taken Into Custody

He seems to be naïve about it instead of serving his 90-day house arrest properly and be sorry for what he did towards the family, he is already lucky to have a situation like that instead he still pushed his luck in going into his newly purchased multi-million dollar penthouse.
Well, this is a total shame, because at this point things cannot happen that way, Tank Davis seeing himself in a type of crime like this, is something that does not set an example, the worst thing is that there are children who admire him, and They see the example that he gives and it is something that is not good, apart from the fact that he violated custody as ordered, it is something that is not well seen, this type of thing must be corrected, I do not know why some boxers have problems of this style, In particular, since they are famous figures, they should be given a strong sanction, just for being people who should set an example.

Yes and that is a total disrespect too to the victim's family because even after Tank was given a house arrest which favorably gave him some little freedom instead of going to a prison, he was still violating the rules of it and tried to bend some rules in-order to transfer to his million dollar penthouse without thinking about what would the family feel. It's just like he was not in any remorse about what happened because he does not care at all and that is just sad to think because the family already had injustice and then this is what they heard.
1617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 17, 2023, 09:51:45 PM

And so with that, with this new era of basketball for big, it's very different and Jokic is the embodiment of this era. With Dirk he can shoot outside but doesn't have the passing ability of the European players right now in the NBA.

We may indeed see more European players in the future, as Jokic has caught the attention of scouts. His passion for the sport is evident, as he gives his all to win games without demanding much in return. If Jokic were a one-man show relying solely on his skills, I doubt they would stand a chance against the Heat in the NBA Finals. However, his improved ability to pass the ball makes his team incredibly dangerous.

Therefore, despite the team's poor shooting from the three-point range according to statistics in the Finals, they still deserve all the success they have achieved.

Jokic is currently by far the best player in the NBA league. What he brought to this league is insane and how much he improved over the years is just spectaular. If he wasnt playing for Denver i dont think that team would even reach the playoffs. What is impresive is that he dosent get injured and he plays so casual it looks like its nothing for him. He didnt get the regular season MVP but if he just repeats the same style in the next season he will win the MVP too easily. Its still shocking how they shooted so badly for three and Miami just wasnt able to take advantage of that and win the series. NBA scouts will look closely now because Jokic was a chubby guy from Serbia that is now the best player in the world and we might see new players similar to him real time soon.

If we are talking about the era that they are in right now then yes, Nikola Jokic is undoubtedly the best player in the league but if you say the best by far, then you are already comparing all eras and that will be a different discussion as many avid fans will surely argue with you about it.
Anyway, Jokic is total package for a player in his height because the man is literally a machine garnering triple doubles in almost every game that he has played without padding his stats. Achieving the same feat next season while adding the regular season MVP is not that impossible to do as long as he can retain what he does.
1618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 17, 2023, 09:31:31 PM
^ It boils down to boxing politics, or maybe those greedy promotional company who just wanted all the money that they can squeeze from their fighters and so it should be in-house fight. Or if there are so much money then they could work it out and put aside their difference.

But for Teo Lopez or even Regis Prograis, I think this fight can still be made, that is if Lopez will un-retire.

Regis fight I do agree that it is very obvious a cherry pick fight by Eddie Hearn. And if Regis win then most likely Match Room will have to find a better fighter for him next as they have the leverage as Prograis is a champion.

Nah! I don't think that Lopez is really serious about that statement because he just became a star in super-light and achieve a difficult feat that not everybody can achieve. And now he's retiring? I don't really think so. I view it as a tactic so that he can have what he wanted but I doubt as well that he can get what he want as he's still starting to build his career from scratch. Too early for him to demand though.
1619  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: June 17, 2023, 09:11:55 PM
The majority of their fights ended in less than 5 rounds, I would also expect them to end quickly. They are both taking the risk here and are glad to see they didn't wait until 45 years old to do the exhibition.
I view the opposite way because even if they have waited for this fight, or at least Crawford did, that will certainly not be a reason why they should end the fight as quickly as possible because the risks are just way too big for them because this ain't just an ordinary fight. They both know that it will not be an easy fight so there should be no reason that they would rush it as that will just result to an early loss by trying to force an early exit.
1620  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: June 16, 2023, 08:47:22 PM

Inoue's footwork and hand speed will be too quick and fast but maybe a single power shot from Casimero will change the fight.

That's what I thought too. As we all are hyped up between the Casimero and Inoue match up, but I just can't deny that Inoue had the advantage in terms of overall skills. I mean Inoue is fast, agile, and has a strong power. inoue is also an unpredictable fighter as he can throw a combination of punches that you'll never know whether he aims for the body or the head. This is gonna be a huge challenge for Casimero in the future, he's defensive skills will put into test against Inoue's relentless offensive fire power. I guess consulting with Donaire will be a huge help for Casimero. Donaire figured out how to take advantage of the opening when Inoue is throwing punches, however It was never enough because Inoue was too fast and also has a solid chin. If Casimero can pull up a perfect counter, he'd for sure going to put Inoue into sleep, but then again that's going to be a very hard thing to achieve.

Right, his hand speed and power very deadly combination, Mike Tyson even said that Inoue is better than Pacquiao (although it's debatable). Donaire has the perfect strategy when they had the rematch, but as we have seen, it seems the Inoue knows what Donaire wanted to do or what his plan his and adjusted on the fly and that power though, very hard to recover from that because once your leg is gone it will be over. So let's just wait for Casimero to make a run or at least be a rank boxer and maybe he can see a fight with Inoue in the future.

It is really debatable and I know that there are a lot of people who would gladly take that trouble just to argue who is better. Besides, we don't have to believe what Mike Tyson is saying because even if he is legend, he did not have the opportunity to battle both Inoue and Pacquiao because if he did and their time was the same, most probably we already know by now who is better.
