Teaser time...

Moar teasing!  Are there any significant differences besides the look?  How about a forum?

Thanks guys - I'm very bullish on CGB, just added it to my altcoin investment guide

Very nice article.

Merc if you're not too busy can we have an update on how things are going?

Development is ongoing and all updates will be on the dev blog as has been the case for the past several weeks.

The process is slow going but it will get done right.  And I'm really excited about the prospects.

Yep, slow and steady wins the race  Smiley

Till then trying to take advantage of the market right now, just achieved 5k cgb, but one can never have enough Cheesy I simply cannot comprehend why people keep dumping such large amounts at such low prices... Well better for me and better for cgb in the long term!

Yeah, who knows why there's selling at this level with so many developments in the works...?  Maybe some guy lost out on a big divorce settlement or something and is forced to sell.  Ha!

I don't think many people know what's going on with CGB.  Most people must think it's just another useless alt coin clone.  Do you think it we be better if we just junked this thread and start a brand new announcement thread detailing the exciting new developments for CGB?  The first post should talk about MADEsparq and all the developments.  I just don't get that from this thread.  The only reason I found about CGB is from my own research of every coin on the Cryptsy list.  Just an idea.

Or, maybe we should move the CGB discussion to the below thread and just close this one.

Stuff like that is Elambert's department...

At least a link to http://MADEsparq.org in the OP would be a good thing, although there are links plenty on the CB website itself.

Working on it now, thanks for the suggestion Smiley

OP updated per suggestion Smiley

Awesome!

Next stop all the illegal gambling sites

That's so 2011.  Preet has been there and done that.  Google FullTiltPoker and Pokerstars.
1625  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Poker Site on: January 27, 2014, 06:27:24 PM
Way too late to this game.  "Seals with Clubs" and a number of other sites have been out there for a couple of years now and many of the mainstream poker sites have already started adding BTC as payment options.  Unless you have a unique marketing idea to build a player base it's going to be a super tough road.  Poker was one of the first uses for Bitcoin and is the reason I know about BTC today.  FWIW, it's standard for online poker players to download software to their computer, so I don't know why people think this is going to be a problem.

20% deposit bonus is extremely weak.  100% up to $200-$2000 is standard.

The IPO price is very high.  They are giving a lot of incentive to invest during the first week the IPO opens because of the bonus for early investors.  If you can't invest in the first couple of weeks, you may be better off waiting for the after-market. I can see the price dropping below .001 at opening.

not happy about cgb Sad i bought at $3 lost a lot of money, how come value is so low where is the corporate marketing campaign ?  u have to move fast

Marketing is ongoing with Facebook clicks and Google Adwords at about $500/month out of my pocket.

It was effective at first and CB was a top ten coin for awhile but has fallen out of favor for the most recent fad of animal coins and planet coins (lol).

Given the obvious fickleness of the crowd and network effect, I doubt marketing will have any resounding effect at this point.  Only development results and the expectation of a growing network effect and ecosystem.

I have decided to spend less time on the forums recently because I'd rather spend my time researching/developing.  Plus, I admit I'm a bit annoyed/disillusioned of how nonsense scrypt coins based on animals/planets/whatever catch fire and are instantly added to exchanges like Vircurex...it's 'funny' for lack of a better term.

And greed is infecting all kinds of projects now, like Zerocoin, which the heads of the project announced they will release their own coin with zerocoin anonymity built in from the start.  And the head developer said something like "If people will put their money into DogeCoins then they'll put their money into anything..."

But CB is a community project like any other crypto currency.  And everyone's contribution will add to the CB network effect and ecosystem.  And regardless of being named after animals or planets or whatever, if the network effect is there then there is value.  So I can belittle this whole DogeCoin nonsense all I want but the fact is that its network is fucking huge already.

Like I said on my Twitter feed, all I can do is just keep grinding along and eventually things will sort themselves out.

I'm new to CGB but I have accumulated almost 2K+ coins already.  I would just like to tell you what a great job you are doing.
Actually, CGB has amazing trading volume on Cryptsy for having only 1mm coins issued.  I don't worry too much about price.  In the long run, it's going to be about the product that CGB will develop in to.  From what I'm reading, it's on the right path.

For the poster that bought at $3 and is disappointed, it's very likely you bought at a time when every coin had already been pumped, including BTC.  Every alt coin got pumped and is now much lower, so it wouldn't make a difference which coin you bought at that time.

Are there any updates on MADEsparq?  It's been a while.

The bids are piling up on Cryptsy.  Only 437 shy of 2K.

I downloaded the MAC wallet and it's very slow and gets hung up all the time.  Are you guys experiencing the same thing?

I use the Mac wallet and have had no issues. Do you have more specifics on where/when the client is getting hung up or acting slow? I assume you have the latest version (1.1.6.5) downloaded directly from the website https://cryptogenicbullion.org/#download?

It gets hung up at start-up.  It takes like 3 minutes to launch.

Ok, yes, my client takes a couple of minutes to load but seems to load faster than my Bitcoin client. You are not experiencing performance issues then, just a slower than desired start-up?

Also, I found this in Merc's dev blog from the website:

Yes, just start-up issues.  Thanks.

Congrats on the Cryptostocks listing!

What happens to early investor shares?  Do you transfer them to us on Cryptostocks?

Dear Jake,

Yes, at the moment we are working on the beta wallet. Soon your shares will be distributed to Cryptostocks. We may need to email you soon to acquire cryptostocks account information.

Kind Regards,

The Nexus Protocol Team.

Is there an ETA when our shares will be distributed?  I sent an email to thenexusprotocol@gmail.com to confirm my email address and my identity on the investor list.  No response yet.

How many people have 1000 CGB?

It's been my target since I started mining, it seems like quite a few people have the same target, would be nice to see who is a member of the 1k CGB club! I'm almost half way there, target is to be there by the end of Feb!

I and all of my family are members Smiley

Nice!  Maybe I will get my daughter 1K.  I'm going for 2k now.  CGB, they're like potato chips, you can't just have 1k. Grin

If I keep them in cold storage then I don't get interest right?
