1621  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: July 08, 2022, 10:21:34 PM
It's just funny to watch how 160,000 Russian soldiers and 50,000 Donbass militias slowly kick the ass of a million Ukrainians mobilized under arms. Do not take it to heart, Ukraine initially had no chance.

We all have a different sense of humor. I don't laugh when a bigger country with a stronger military force attacks a smaller one. It's a tragedy for both nations but at least Ukrainians are dying defending their land. What are Russians dying for in Ukraine?

If we really have to look for funny events in this war, I find it funny when Russians have to abandon their tanks in the middle of the road because they run out of fuel. It's also funny to see Russian troops driving around Ukraine in a civilian Lada get a grenade drooped on their heads by a drone. It's amusing to watch Russians abandon their friends in the middle of the field and drive away in a truck while those poor guys chase them on foot or to hear those intercepted phone calls where Russian soldiers brag about stealing cars and eating dogs... The war will end but the image of Russian soldier who steals and rapes and shoots himself in the leg to be sent back home will remain forever.
1622  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can the price Hit back $50k this month? on: July 08, 2022, 09:43:40 PM
It's so easy for bitcoin to go back to 30k and yet it's so difficult. Easy because with the number of shorts and the attitude of the market all it takes is one big player to go all in and we'd be back at 30k. There's just not enough supply to satisfy demand right now and if a big hedge fund goes long on bitcoin with a few billion USD it's going to trash all the bears at once.

On the other hand the sentiment is so negative that it's going to take a miracle for some billionaires to go all in.

IMO we're not going to go back to 50k this year. Maybe next year, but I'm 100% sure that we'll be over 60k in 3 years.
1623  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Unexpected Death? on: July 08, 2022, 08:22:16 PM
There are tensions between Japan and China (mostly about those islands that both countries feel like they belong to them) and Japan and Russia following the attack on Ukraine. Also, Japan was recently invited to the NATO summit. Maybe this death has something to do with that... Or it was just some crazy poerson manifesting their disapproval.
1624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin conference 2022: Amsterdam on: July 08, 2022, 08:05:46 PM
Here's the list of speakers:
https://blockchain-expo.com/europe/speakers/

Apparently this is going to be a bitcoin only conference, which is interesting. A bitcoin maxi conference? Cool

I don't feel like it's going to be a low quality event, although they haven't got any of the popular youtubers and twitter analysts. For those who didn't know, things like faketoshi being called a liar by Vitalik in the audience, or Trace Mayer laughed at for shilling an altcoin are what makes an event popular.
1625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is for big bag holders on: July 08, 2022, 07:48:00 PM
Do not use martingale strat in gambling. It is doomed to fail, trust me. Been there. You never know how long your losing streak will be and each loss will double your stakes the next bid. It is a very high risk, very low reward gambling strategy. Even if you start at 1 dollar, in just 10 loss streak you'll be hundreds of dollars in losses. It is hard to recover from that.

My advice, just do a minimum bet and enjoy the game. There is no sure win strategy but you will not feel a loser even if you are losing if you are enjoying the game.

With enough money on your account and low starting bet you can make martingale work. The problem with this strategy is that every time you're risking hundreds, even thousands of USD, just to get even on a bet of less than 1 dollar. When all dust comes down, you'll be back to 0, but it required you to bet 10k USD and have that amount on your casino's account. Even if you keep martingaling for a whole day with 50k in the bank, you'll end up leaving with $100 more. So you were risking 500 times more! Usually people who bet $10 on dice or sports risk $10. You're making the risk lower by betting more. It
1626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now is the time to just wait for the price of Bitcoin to come down. on: July 07, 2022, 02:01:12 PM
If you have to invest, you have to wait a few more days. Because if you invest in a downward market, you will get a lot more profit.

I don't agree with this because you can't be sure where the low will be. That's why many people invest in the bear market on the way down.
In 2019 people were saying exactly the same thing that you're saying now, that we should not buy and just sit idly by, wait and see and then they all got wasted because at 4k they weren't buying because traders were telling them to wait for 1k. Then the price went up from 4 to 8k so they all thought it to be a bullish reversal and started buying, but it came down and you could see that huge crash when it went below 8k again. Price went from 8 to 4k in 2 days as all those 8k+ buyers sold at a loss.

None of this would have happened if they decided to DCA not wait for a lower/higher price confirmation because you can't be sure if it is a confirmation until the opportunity window had closed.
1627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Careful With Your Slot Activity! on: July 07, 2022, 01:47:17 PM
My neighbor is in debt of $9000 just for playing slot games.

This game can be played for free. You get a lot of free spins and don't have to bet anything.

I don't know how your neighbor ended up in debt from playing an online Android game. The only way I can think of is through in-app purchases, which demand real money in exchange for additional perks that might improve user experience.

Plus, I'm certain there is no way to verify the randomness of each and every game since the application that can be downloaded in playstore is somehow not properly scrutinized.

That's correct. I don't think you can verify rolls in any way by playing this game, which is why they're giving so many free spins. They hope somebody gets hooked up and spends some money on the game. It's not a casino. I doubt they are playing it fair. It's a redistribution scheme where someone has to lose for the script to know there's money in the bank for payouts and then it allows some people to win up to the point where they drain the bank again.
1628  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: July 07, 2022, 01:06:07 PM
The Russian rocket has already taken off at the address.
Russian rocket:

They even found a few buildings that weren't damaged and posted them as proof that there was no artillery attacks on the town. You can reed similar shit every day in the Komsomolskaya Pravda. There's no more Komsomol anymore, but the tabloid remains.

Russian propaganda tactic - to tell that all destruction is because ukrainians. Ukrainian soldiers shooting themselves in town.

Yup, Russians aren't attacking towns at all, it's all precision strikes at military targets.
If Russian missile or artillery hits a residential building it's (choose one or more):
A military building disguised as residential.
A missile was shot down and it fell on the building
A residential building full of enemy troops.
A Ukrainian missile, because Ukrainians use similar weapons, so there's no proof it was Russian.
1629  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake making new accounts is too easy on: July 07, 2022, 12:53:54 PM
Maybe they're just slow at this which is understandable if they have a lot of players, I takes time to verify each account and you're making more than one a day. I bet you're not their only player to do so, but breaking the TOS is always risky. They can block your account and refuse to pay you anything, so every time you play you risk double. It could work a few times and then one time it won't and you'll come here crying that they're trying to scam you.

Funny commentary by the way:

Translation: "It's kind of weird that they unfroze reserves of cockroaches for the nuclear war"  Grin

From what I can see, the local populations are ecstatic that they were rescued

Yep, in russian propaganda. As we can see, there few of them. It's hard to find big amount of mad oldies.

Looks yummy. Tongue Insects are good source of protein!
Makes you wonder what they put in the meat when buns are already of lowest possible quality, In most restaurants it's the meat that goes bad first.

As for those"extatic people" coming out of their hoses to greet incoming Russian saviors and comparing them to angels. They even found a few buildings that weren't damaged and posted them as proof that there was no artillery attacks on the town. You can reed similar shit every day in the Komsomolskaya Pravda. There's no more Komsomol anymore, but the tabloid remains.

Now Adolf Putin is fighting the "Judeo-Nazi" - Nothing to do with the oil pipes, the  gas reserves, the military defence strategy, the stealing of Ukrainian resources, ... sure... it is because of the "judeo-nazis".

Stealing of Ukrainian resources is not the main goal (and all other of course). The main goal is really some ideological crusade against ukrainians. This is why russian started real ethnocide on occupied territories.

They have an ideological crusade with half of Europe, because according to them we are rotten, lost the traditional way and all that. We support abortion, homosexuals, freedom of speech... Russian people don't want the West, which is why they were standing in lines when Ikea and McDonalds were closing to buy their last piece of furniture and have that hated Amerian burger.
1631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inherited gambling on: July 06, 2022, 09:57:06 PM
It seems that it is in the DNA and that it can pass more easily to the children. It depends on how much the child is exposed to gambling. Men have a much higher chance of a gambling addiction than women, because of the different area of interest. That's not to say that women aren't prone to addiction, though. But it could also be that the father is heavily gambling and that the son is not gambling at all. That is again due to the DNA from both parents.
This is just another excuse for being a gambling addict, we cannot blame our parents for our own decision and that gambler might use this excuse so he can avoid being interrogated. I don’t think it can be passed to your DNA because gambling is just a game, and we can argue that those who are good in sports their children can’t be good as well, because its all about your trainings and sacrifices. There’s no Doctor that can say your DNA is too exposed in gambling, so for me it can be inherited.

And you are right, it can't be. If people's attractions and "quirks" were in the DNA, you'd have children craving the same foods as their parents. Have you ever seen that happen? I haven't. Children develop their own taste and there are things they don't like early on in their lives but can acquire a taste for later on.
You often see parents who are good at math have children who are good at languages and bad at math. You often see children of people who keep bees being allergic to bee stings. You don't inherit these things.

The only thing people seem to inherit are diseases, including mental.
1632  Other / Meta / Re: The situation with Ukraine and the accounts that supported the war. on: July 06, 2022, 09:43:31 PM
I also think that there should be no censorship on this forum.

Personally, I argued a lot with pro-Russian trolls in the Politics section where they keep saying that there was no attack and no war and it's all liberation through a military operation, but I don't try to put comments on their trust pages and I don't ask moderators to delete their posts. You cannot stop idiots from writing books, but it's a double edged sword, like when you put an average fighter against a terrible one, you start seeing how good that average guy is. We need these trolls to write stupid posts so that people can make their own minds and decide who's telling the truth. History will verify.

It's going to be a bit off-topic, but I've read a thing I'd like to mention here thing today. Remember when Putin said there are no Russian recruits fighting in Ukraine? Ukrainians started finding 18 year old POWs and putting their statements on youtube along with all their documents. This week Russia officially admitted that there indeed were about 600 young conscripts fighting in Ukraine, but it was a mistake and those responsible (the officers) will be prosecuted for giving orders to these boys... Try telling a mother that her son was sent to war and died by mistake. Try telling her that the ministry of defense did not know who they're sending across the border. I used to think that North Korea was the most bullshit country in the world with their laws requiring that every citizen comes to a leader's funeral and cries, but Russia is even worse. It's all built on lies and it's all going to be exposed sooner or later.
1633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Was the coupling of Bitcoin to fiat a mistake? on: July 05, 2022, 08:24:20 PM
Had you banned fiat exchanges, you'd have people doing it for various goods, deeds, IOUs. You'd have a debt trading market, marketplaces and so on, so people would still be trading, even if only on paper, but you'd be lacking a good measure of price. All physical things in this world, even space trips, human organs, sex, have value in fiat. You can't decouple it. If the US bans fiat trades you'll be bale to trade it for pesos or some other currency.
1634  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rocketpot.io refusing to pay out 170k win on: July 05, 2022, 02:00:10 PM
Tried contacting support to speak with vip manager “Sofia” for an update was told she doesn’t work weekends and was also now told I’ll be updated via email and my case is being reviewed by the “financial manager”. See pic https://imgur.com/a/H049Zy2

As of now, still no payout received from rocketpot.io and they continue to delay…

Looks like their support can barely communicate in English. This says a lot when they hire people who can't fulfill the most basic requirement for the job.

16k out of 170 is still a very small portion of the money owed.
Let's hope you'll get it all.

The limits and the reluctance to pay out a legit win suggest they don't have enough money and prefer to pay out wins with losses of other players.
1635  Economy / Economics / Re: Why You should not worry about BTC price action on: July 05, 2022, 01:47:06 PM
I'm worried and not worried at the same time. I believe in bitcoin so I'm not worried about corrections. I know in the end there will be a halving and then another halving and bitcoin will still be here 2 halvings from now, worth more than today.
I'm worried because I can see a lot of manipulation and influence from central banks and governments. I also see price go down week after week with no bounce which is a new thing even for bitcoin. This crash is very strong. Stronger than 2018 and 2014. Most red weeks in a row ever, price below mining profitability, and all this happened in just a few months.
1636  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: July 04, 2022, 10:57:49 PM
Translation: Adolf Putin sent the "center" group to their deaths (thanks for the fertiliser) and now has to bring on another truckload of cannon fodder including signing a law admitting 60 year old (I wonder if they know that they cannot stop the fight every hour to take a leek) and compulsory conscripts from the Donbas (hey officers, do not turn your back).

They liberated a town from its native inhabitants. All other people would call it a military assault, but Russians claim that they're helping these people by killing them. Meanwhile, Mcdonalds restaurants in Russia are running out of Coca Cola and serving moldy burgers, Kaliningrad is isolated, Finland and Sweden are officially accepted into NATO and the war goes on. No, not a special operation. It's a war.

He never pretended to be a friend and you don't know what happened with him taking over some of your campaigns, but I guess I could also ask him to prove how he got this latest job  Cheesy
Unfortunately for Royse, he/she lost more than 1 campaign due to this.

It really looks like someone is making sure that businesses who hire Royse are well aware of his reputation and of his negative trust comments, which is why he's losing jobs.
I'm not taking sides here, just stating the facts.

1638  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you be in favor of Gold or Bitcoin !! on: July 04, 2022, 10:08:50 PM
I like both. Gold has its physical uses and bitcoin is much more secure and easy to verify. You don't need a bag to carry bitcoin around and you don't need scales to be able to verify its real value.
On the other hand, you won't make pretty jewelry out of bitcoin and you won't get a good electrical connection with it. Gold lovers will have their points and bitcoin lovers will have theirs. To each their own.
1639  Other / Politics & Society / Re: NATO Summit -Excerpts on food, support to Ukraine and stance towards China & RF on: July 01, 2022, 09:58:06 PM
The interesting or maybe even frightening thing was that for the first time NATO brought in 3 additional countries to the summit. Countries that aren't located in the North Atlantic.
Is NATO becoming a worldwide treaty now? Reminds me of Israel being invited to the Eurovision each year.
I feel like this is going to push China more into the arms of Russia.

Fun fact: one might thing that world leaders will have good tailors, but some of them have much too long pants.

Runes!

Thanks for sharing OP.

Any reference for these runes?
Anybody else found them symbols mesmerizing?

"in wich they were received the payee needs proof that at the time of each transaction, the majority of nodes agreed  it was the first received"

This is interesting because it looks like a mix of languages. At first glance it's Germanic not Nordic because sign no 4 from the bottom (ᛜ ) is Germanic but there's no such rune in the Nordic alphabet.
Many other runes are from the Nordic alphabet, some defining numbers from the runic calendar. Did anybody decrypt it? I might try, I like these things.
