1201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why every casino got bad habits? on: December 13, 2022, 10:46:08 PM
I feel like many people have already mentioned the important part which is the difference between accusations and real fault. Anybody can accuse a casino of doing something bad for no reason, that's why the section is called scam accusations but not scams. To be a scam the accusation has to be proven.

Of course there are real scams in the space not every casino is clean but we have this forum so that we can share our stories and know who to stick with and which sites to avoid.
1202  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sam Bankman-Fried Arrested In The Bahamas, Set For 'Prompt' Extradition After US on: December 13, 2022, 10:33:48 PM
Well, I'm glad I was wrong. I didn't think he would face any criminal charges.

Read the charges briefly, he's facing up to life in prison but no one is ever sentenced at the top of sentence recommendations. If he is in fact guilty after proper due process, throw the book at him.

Elizabeth Holmes frauded about 700M USD, she got 13 years in prison.

Bernard Lawrence Madoff frauded 65B USD, he got 150 years.

If convicted, what could SBF get for vaporizing 10B USD? Perhaps the rest of his life?

Maybe this was all a charade to appease the public. People would be furious if they let him of the hook but now they'll make all the hearings, committees, maybe a trial... and then let him go. He'll get a long list of sentences but if you sum them all up it's going to be like a million dollar fine, 2 years of house arrest and a lifetime ban on running companies.

I doubt he'll get 10 years but given what he did he should at least get that.
1203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We No Longer Pay People Directly on: December 13, 2022, 10:13:18 PM
Well versed, OP. That's what Klaus Schwab is working hard on achieving and that is why he praises Trudeau so much, because that guy showed the world what can be done when you have full control of people's money. When you're able to stop the flow of money you're able to force people into submission. They want to gather somewhere and protest? Take their money so they have to walk there and ask others to buy them food. With no money they can't even pay their Internet bill. You take their money you stop the flow of information. They can't send a letter with no money, they can't can't print leaflets, can't buy weapons to protect themselves. Money is power.
1204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why still keep the money on phone? on: December 13, 2022, 09:42:50 PM
A phone wallet shouldn't be used as your main wallet because it's pretty easy to have your phone stolen or simply lose it.
I bet that having your phone hacked through android vulnerability is going to be 100 times less common than having it stolen.

That said, I wouldn't be worried about having $100 on my phone for unexpected expenses. I usually have a phone bank app there anyway, so wherever I go I have some cash in my wallet, a fiat app on my phone and a crypto wallet. For holding I have my safely stored private keys.
1205  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Qatar Footballl World Cup - People decided not to watch on: December 12, 2022, 10:00:44 PM
It's the same as other countries, they've got to focus to the grandest events that are happening in their countries because it will boost their entire economy.

While not looking at those current situations that the other side of the country is dealing with. People should just forget the World Cup if they want to and ignore it.

But they can't stop the flock and fans from different parts of the world to watch and support it.

It's not the same in other countries. In most countries you are free to drink alcohol if you like and you won't get in trouble for walking around with your shoulders or knees visible Wink
I would probably still watch it if it was only about their restrictions but the most important aspect is Qatar bribed FIFA to get the votes and be chosen as the host for the cup.
FIFA is so dirty and nobody does anything about it as long as the money keeps flowing.
1206  Other / Politics & Society / Re: War expets saying this is the ww3 now in Europe on: December 09, 2022, 09:51:27 PM
Most likely russia will go in next countries:
Ukraine off course then moldova poland greece italy germany. Baltics Will be not touched and northern Europe not interesting for Putin.

Go? meaning what? Throw whatever T90s they have left at them? Moldova is weak and could be taken over, but at the current state of the Russian military, even if Poland wasn't a NATO member, I doubt they'd be able to fight it, while having a large part of their forces tied in Ukraine. Basically, if there was no NATO and Russia attacked Moldova and Poland in 2023, and these countries would only get military aid the way Ukraine is, Russia would lose all of its forces.

It gets even better with Germany in the mix. I really doubt that Russia would be able to defeat Germany 1 on 1 without the use of nuclear weapons simply because of the path its forces would have to take to get there. The first thing Poland would do is blow up bridges and Russians would get stuck without reinforcements. Also, there's no way Finland and Sweden would just watch as Russians attack members of the EU.

In no scenario does Russia win this, even if there was no NATO. Since there is NATO and Russia has lost a third of its ground forces this year, if they move significant forces towards Moldova or Poland, they can expect Ukraine to move towards Crimea.

Even if we did the math in March 2022, Russia would lose vs the rest of Europe, even if the US was not involved. They simply don't have the manpower to overpower and hold so many countries at the same time. Especially countries that have strong air strike capabilities that Ukraine was lacking. They wouldn't be fighting old Mig-29 that Ukrainians have but Eurofighters, Gripens, Rafales and so on...
1207  Economy / Economics / Re: Have Satoshi dream failed? on: December 09, 2022, 09:06:16 PM
Most countries do not tax your holdings. I don't know where it's taxed like that but in the EU your "taxable event" is the moment you exchange bitcoin into fiat money, goods or services. Otherwise you don't have to tell anyone that you own anything.

Bitcoin gives you freedom of choice. If you live in a country that heavily regulates or taxes bitcoin, move somewhere else and have fun with no taxes, like in German

At some point most countries will have taxed bitcoin in some way, most likely in the form of income tax from gains, but that doesn't mean it's a failure. You're your own bank, you can spend at any moment, any day of the week, you don't have to wait, transactions are easy to verify and visible for everyone and you are anonymous, despite what some people are saying.
When I get my coins from a signature campaign on the forum and decide to go to an ATM that allows me to exchange for cash without KYC up to a certain limit - I'm anonymous. It's the same with store purchases. If I decide to spend my coins at a place that accepts bitcoin I'm anonymous. They can see my face, but they don't know my name, DOB or any other thing about me.
1208  Economy / Economics / Re: Coffeezilla Accidentally Got SBF To Admit to Fraud on: December 09, 2022, 08:46:13 PM
That was one of those moments when the bad kid regrets not listening to his parents, especially since in this case both were teaching law at Stanford.
I said were because it seems they were fired, I don't buy the retirement story:
https://decrypt.co/116770/sam-bankman-fried-barbara-parents-stanford-law-teaching-break

They both had scheduled courses with Father cancelling the course that was supposed to start in a few weeks, so the mother said it well, the retirement has nothing to do with it Tongue
Also, she's 2 years younger than her husband and suddenly they both decided to retire in the same month.
Maybe they got so much money and properties that they don't have to work anymore?
I think that the real reason for this is they're too busy making a line of defense for their son and possibly for themselves.

I'd really like to see that sociopath in jail.

Now that Brazil is out what do you think? I'm not a French citizen or anything, I just like the story of Mbappe and the French team. I think Argentina just became the huge favorite of the teams left but I'm still pulling for France.

I also think France is doing a bit better than England. Not by much but a bit better. That said, both teams have equal chances if it comes down to kicks because the moment it begins it's a lottery. We all saw what happened with Brazil. Spain also didn't do good in that part of  the game. If those two teams could lose and had much bigger skill difference than France and England, I'd call this anybody's game. You can flip a coin.
1210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Create wealth first before the use of bitcoin on: December 08, 2022, 11:08:43 PM
No Internet access can really be a problem, but nowadays most people have mobile phones. You can buy a smartphone for cheap and it's a built in feature. The coverage is also decent, so you really can get Internet in poor towns for just a few dollars a month.

If you're so poor you can't spare $50 for a used smartphone and don't have that $5 a month to pay your phone bill, you probably shouldn't think about bitcoin, but it's like offering an online account, or a credit card to someone in Africa who lives in a straw hut and digs a hole in the ground each time he wants to take a dump.

That said, even the poorest of the poor can benefit from using and holding bitcoin if they can get access to it. The problem is, those really poor are rarely given a chance to invest. If they knew how to do it, or had someone to guide them,  they wouldn't be poor in the first place
1211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proof Of Income Will This Pass on: December 08, 2022, 10:20:45 PM
I think the problem is more evident when they would also ask you for a statement of your account and not just proof of your salary.
Because from that it would emerge that you spent a part on "classic" expenses to support yourself/family, go shopping at the grocery, pay bills, etc...
At the same time how did you manage to deposit the same amount in the casino?
in any case it is something very subtle.
you can always prove the bottom line of your earnings, and I don't think any casino should declare it as "unreliable".
Obviously if they want to make a scam they can declare anything to deny a payment....

in any case even if you are violating the "principle of gambling for fun" this is not a good reason to close your account or deny you a withdrawal if you win Roll Eyes

Exactly! Many people have no income but a lot of money to play with.
Examples? People who inherited money, rich students who have the money but don't work anywhere, people who divorced and don't have to work anymore like the wife of Jeff Bezos.
For many people showing proof of income is impossible and what then? They get scammed by the casino because they can't jump the hoops?

That said, I think they have no right to demand that. What I have on my account and where I work is private information. I'm not going to share that when a private company asks me.
1212  Other / Off-topic / Re: These 10 cars have the greatest potential lifespan — and 6 are Toyotas on: December 08, 2022, 09:51:46 PM
This as to be a US survey because here in the EU nobody uses pickup trucks. We mostly use vans as work horses here.

Also, note that they based the list on the mileage, which is why most cars there are work horses. Pickup trucks or cars used by various services. Tahoe for instance is a popular police car.
High mileage doesn't mean the car has a long lifespan. It can as well mean that it's driven and serviced a lot like a typical service car.

The fact that you don't have a honda civic there doesn't mean it breaks before it reaches 300k miles. It means not many people make 300k in 10 years, which is the average life of a vehicle. A work truck on the other hand can easily make 500k in 10 years.

My point is that if you take care of your car it's going to last. It doesn't have to be a pickup truck or an SUV.
1213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks do not want bitcoin to become popular on: December 08, 2022, 09:31:31 PM
These people make such ridiculous statements every month. I could find you a number of them made in the bull market of 2021.
I even made a thread about the media market predictions being false most of the time.

Just google media coverage by CNBC during the 2017 bull market and then 2018 bear market.
In bull market all their experts were saying that the drop to 10k after the peak of 20k is just the beginning of something bigger and 25k was to come next.
In the bear market of 2018 they were saying that if Bitcoin fell to 3k it's only a matter of time before it goes back to 1k.

Now they're so used to betting on the lows that if we ever fall to 15k they will say that 10k is next and if we fall to 10k it will be 5k and at 5k they'll say 3k is next. They are so predictable. When we finally break above 30k again they'll say that we're on the way to a new high and when we reach a new high the CNBC will say that now it has to go to 100k and at 100k they'll predict 120k or something and they'll keep going until the next bear market.
1214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would be an ideal KYC solution? on: December 07, 2022, 08:30:20 PM
The best solution that I'd expect from casinos is to be straightforward and honest from the start.

If they demand KYC from everyone they should put it in their TOS and make it clear - you make an account you will be asked for KYC.
If they demand KYC at random they should stop it and want it only from users who withdraw upwards of a certain (disclosed) amount.

They should also allow users to delete accounts and allow them to request that all their data including IP and email is deleted on request. No private data should be held and processed by them and KYC verification should be done by a third party that does it professionally and doesn't store data.
1215  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: December 07, 2022, 08:16:13 PM
Everybody understands that the RF is not the USSR - it is just that the old habits seem to die hard. I would say that the Army has become even more undisciplined, corrupt and sadistic, and that is a lot to say!

A good example of this was the fact that when KGB turned into FSB, people weren't fired. They stayed in their seats because it costs a lot of money to train a spy as well as a killer.
They can play around with names and flags but Russian Federation is still the good old Soviet Union. The name could no longer be used not because they weren't soviet anymore, but because there was no more union.

Fun fact: Gorbachev died this year. He was the last president of the Soviet Union and lived long enough to see Russia bleed and lose the most people and armament since WWII, 5 times more than they lost in Afghanistan, back when they still were fighting under the red banner.
1216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Destroy Crap Altcoins? on: December 07, 2022, 03:40:59 PM
The current situation is great for Bitcoin because it's showing people what the weak links are. Those who were greedy and put their money in exchange tokens or fake stable coins are not down 70% like those who bought bitcoin at the top but 100% and worst thing in all that is their coins have no chance of coming back. There will never be an FTT bull market again. If you bought shitcoins you're out of the game forever.

I expect some of the altcoin market cap to return to bitcoin in the coming years and that bitcoin will have another bull run when we get closer to the halving, pretty much what happened in 2019 when bitcoin finally left behind the 5k area and moved to 10k. We're in depression levels at this point and should recover back to the fair valuation of 20k in the coming months.
1217  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Two Bitcoin Stories from the AfroBitcoin Conference in Ghana 2022 on: December 06, 2022, 09:38:42 PM
I'm not sure if using Bitcoin to pay a ransom to kidnappers is exactly the sort of development we'd like to see with Bitcoin, but I'm glad that someone feels they were helped out by it.

I like the second story much better and would like to think that Bitcoin has helped some oppressed women become financially independent from those that control them.  I hope that these sorts of stories are what continue to appear as they represent the good side of Bitcoin, while story #1 seems to represent more of the bad side of what Bitcoin can be used for.  With a little luck, maybe we'll see more of story 2 in the future and less of story 1.

The first story leaves a bitter aftertaste, but Bitcoin wasn't used because it was attractive to the kidnappers but because it was a fast international payment system.
We can debate whether kidnappers should be paid at all, or not, the way the US doesn't negotiate with terrorists, but if it was decided that they can and want to pay, it came down to whether they can make it in time, or not. Bottom line, they chose bitcoin because it was the fastest international payment they could do and it worked they way they wanted. I don't think that there would suddenly be no kidnappings if people stopped paying in bitcoin or that there are now going to be more of them since they can demand to be paid in bitcoin

1218  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Indonesian ban on sex outside marriage affect businesses adversely? on: December 06, 2022, 08:54:08 PM
If those of you who talk about this are Indonesians. So I think you will know that actually Indonesia has long banned adultery or having sex outside of marriage. even in the source you linked it was also explained that the law regarding sex outside of marriage had existed before but was not enforced. and the new law has only been slightly modified or clarified, namely to prohibit sex outside of marriage in its entirety.
while the old law only prohibited sex outside of marriage with non-married couples themselves. like the prohibition of the husband having sex with women other than his wife.

The reason why people ignored the law is because it was stupid. It has been long debated whether we should obey laws that are outright stupid or oppressive.
Let's say that someone decides you no longer can use a mobile phone, or that you are not allowed to drink alcohol, even at home. I feel like there's a huge difference between not allowing married people to have sex outside marriage and not allowing any unmarried couple to do it. Having sex is a natural human interaction. People meet, start dating, have sex, get married - this is how it's done everywhere.
1219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My concern of security when using casino houses. on: December 06, 2022, 08:31:51 PM
I've had friends call me late at night to pick them up after winning a lot of money at casinos.  It's a genuine concern.  People will stake out winners and jump them in parking lots to steal winnings.  Casinos especially seem to have some of the shadiest customer bases of any place I can think of.  They also stay open late at night.  If you've got a ton of cash on you and it's late at night, walking through giant parking lots probably isn't the best idea.  Where I live you can carry a gun so it isn't the worst thing to have to do, but if you're able, having a friend who can pick you up right at the exit is the way to go.

I know about that and that's why I never go to these places all by myself. I usually take some friends so that we can have fun and watch each other's backs. It's the same with drinking at night and walking home alone. Drunk people have a habit of doing everything much slower so it takes them more time to find cash in their wallets and this allows others to take a peek inside.
I've heard of people stabbed in my city for no reason or beaten just because they were an easy target, but I've always walked with at least 1 friend and thankfully never been attacked.
Muggers rarely mess with 2 or more people, unless it's 2 drunk women.
1220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much initial startup to Start Cryptocurrency Casino? on: December 05, 2022, 10:32:21 PM
Sure you can start a casino yourself for 100k by buying the scripts and such, doing all the work by yourself.
Note that most of the 100k will go for licensing hosting and bankroll and you won't have money to employ people. If you're ready to do advertising, be the support and all the rest you can do it cheap.

That said, if you're asking us how much it costs it means you're a newbie and have no idea how to run it.
